They don’t just create perfumes; they build stories and embed a deep artistic vision into each fragrance. I encountered this scent at the very beginning of my journey. At that time, I actually hated amber as a note. Even now, I wouldn’t say I love it—but when you approach it from an artistic perspective, the quality and depth it delivers are undeniably exceptional. It’s also interesting to note that in many Arabic-style fragrances, this kind of amber is often used instead of oud. As for the scent itself, it’s important to remember its fruity character from the start. The opening is dominated by a dried apricot accord—sweet, rich, and quite deep. Beneath that sweetness lies a woody structure with slightly sharp edges. To smooth out these corners, the slightly bitter nuances of white tobacco flower come into play, which are then rounded off beautifully by sandalwood, creating a more polished and balanced transition. From beginning to end, a dark, dense amber remains ever-present, forming the backbone of the fragrance. As time passes—around the 6 to 7-hour mark—the fruity aspects begin to fade, leaving behind a lightly sugary, slightly boozy bitterness in the drydown. The amber note itself is highly persistent, easily lasting 12 to 14 hours. During the first 3 to 4 hours, the projection is quite strong, capable of filling a room with ease. 10/7.1

There’s this simultaneous sense of restraint and indulgence, as though Vincent Ricord understood that opulence can be more powerful when it’s suggested rather than shouted. And then, as it dries down, you get that anchoring depth...smooth woods and a burnished glow that radiates out for hours, lingering like a pleasant memory you didn’t expect to revisit. The really great thing about Blonde Amber, and this is where it gets quietly brilliant, is that it makes you feel luxe without veering into costume drama territory. It’s wearable, elegant, and manages the neat trick of making your presence feel more curated than obvious. In other words...it’s the rare fragrance that feels like both an accessory and an atmosphere, and it makes you want to keep living inside it long after the last notes have faded. An absolute masterpiece and worth every cent.

I picked this up pretty much right after sampling it. Just a lovely scent overall; smooth, cozy, and classy. I can’t wait for cooler weather to really put it to use, but I’ve already gotten a very nice compliment on it. It’s in a similar space as Initio Side Effect, which I also love, but Blonde Amber feels a bit fruitier and maybe a touch brighter. It has spice, warm amber, and a smooth, slightly boozy tonka-vanilla richness that makes it comforting and easy to wear. Not super daring, but it definitely feels luxurious and well blended to me. The best part is the dry down. That said, I don’t think it smells basic at all. To most people irl, this will smell unique and upscale. It's comforting and familiar but has a uniqueness to it. For fragrance enthusiasts, there are other popular niche options that live in the same space, so it’s worth sampling around. Especially since even other pricey niche scents start to feel like bargains compared to this. The price is absolutely wild for 50ml, even at discounters. You're paying extra for the name and presentation, and while that's pretty typical for high-end perfumery, it’s still a valid criticism because it manages to cost even more than most of them. That said, the exclusivity kind of gatekeeps it — which, for better or worse, adds to the appeal. It’s been getting more attention lately, and honestly, I think it deserves it. If you enjoy Side Effect or anything in that warm, spicy, sweet, boozy realm, you’ll probably really enjoy this one. Performance is solid for me too. 9.5/10

It's no surprise this is one of/the most popular Clive Christian fragrances. Initially I wasn't really blown away by Blonde Amber, but I have to admit I fell in love with it after giving it a full wear. Blonde Amber opens up with a boozy, ambery and slightly spicy dried fruity/floral scent that's simply gorgeous and very elegant. There's also a prominent but gentle frankincense note that gives the scent a refined nuance. As it dries down the booziness and spice are subdued, allowing the white florals to come forward and blend extremely well with the ambers and dried fruits note. I'm usually not a fan of white florals because they can come off sharp to my nose and even be a bit nauseating after a while, but these are white florals done to perfection. The name Blonde Amber is also fitting given this white florals and ambers combo. I really loved wearing this yesterday, so I might pick up a full bottle if I can find one for a good price. Performance is also really good overall. Projection is pretty strong but maybe not room filling strong. I sprayed this on, went to the living room by myself and when my family walked by around 6-7 feet away from me they commented on how they could smell whatever I was wearing. Despite the strong projection, sillage isn't too dense so you're not gonna be choking out yourself or others when you wear this, but I wouldn't advise spraying this one too much anyways. Longevity is great too, this easily lasts 8 hours.

What an absolutely phenomenal fragrance for today! I can totally understand why Blonde Amber is hyped up by people! The opening and dry down are very close to identical on this fragrance, with just a hint more sweetness and vanilla in the opening then the dry down. This fragrance is the perfect balance of sweet spices, wood and amber with lights hints of a number of other notes mixed in the background to give a very nice depth and complexity. The performance was stellar! I got longevity of around 9 total hours with around 6 of them being strong wearing hours. The last 3 hours had it sticking very close to my skin, I was only able to smell it if I got my nose close to my skin. Interestingly it didn’t last as long on my clothes as it did my skin, only around 7 hours in total. I would give it an 8/10 for longevity. Projection was near perfect on Blonde Amber, it radiated just within my arms length, a little more projection might have been nice but a 7/10 here! Blonde Amber is a truly amazing fragrance, it feels like the idea of what a warm sweet spicy fragrance should be was really captured here. It has a perfect balance between the different notes and it’s not overpowering either. This is a definite 9/10! This is definitely an ideal cold weather fragrance for me!

Hedonistic bursts through the back door — laughing, sweaty, shirt halfway open, smelling like a lust-soaked night in Marrakech. He’s already spilling whiskey and throwing compliments that sound like propositions. Last to arrive is Carlisle, fashionably late as always. Dark patchouli, spices, and vanilla follow him like a cloud of danger and sex appeal. He doesn’t need to introduce himself. Everyone turns to look. The night is hot. The air is thick. The walls sweat. The panties dropped. And the scents? They don’t blend — they collide. This isn’t harmony. This is carnal chaos in a bottle. In another words, pleasure elixir!

Is the pricing for this fragrance a scam? Yes ...without a doubt but the perfume industry as a whole is a scam, we already know this. Houses double and sometimes triple charge in order to build prestige for their fragrances. Granted, houses like Clive Christian and Boadicea the Victorious are among the worst at doing it but it's the game unfortunately 🤷🏾♂️ Clive charges what it does because his brand at one point was the chosen perfume of the British monarch (hence the bottle crown design) even though you can find just as rich or better perfumery from other houses for less lol However, this fragrance is in fact phenomenal. It's rich and projects and is a heavy compliment getter. You get straight Amber, vanilla a bit of woody notes in the background upon dry down. There's also sprinkle of the rum and tobacco somewhere. It smells linear but feels multi layered with depth at the same time. It also lasts all day. If you don't care for perfumery antics just get Amber Empire (shown above in the "what this reminds me of") it's smells EXACTLY like Blonde Amber 1:1 and save yourself hundreds of dollars 🤷🏾♂️

Finally got my hands on a bottle of this. I usually don't buy fragrances at full price. This was an exception. From the moment I've first smelled this at the boutique, I've fallen in love with this scent. I've recieved several compliments during a test wear that day, and turned some heads. And now I'm holding the most expensive purchase for my collection in my hand. And it's 100% worth it. The scent opens up with boozy dried fruit notes, with citric and resinous undertones, and slowly shifts towards a more woody and vanillic base over the entire wear period. It has phenomenal 12h+ longevity, leaves a very noticable scent trail, yet lacks any "offensive" parts. Your presence will be felt, yet it will not bother anyone. The full spectrum of this scent is only revealed up close. It wouldn't be fair to give this scent a rating of less than 10/10. Due to its price, not blind buy safe. If you ever see a bottle of this anywhere, you must try it on skin.

Wow this is intoxicatingly warm and sensual. I bought a 10 ml because there was no way I was blind buying a $600+ bottle! Honestly, this is such a long lasting scent with incredible silage and projection that I can’t see myself needing anything larger than a 30 ml bottle, but I think the smallest flanker is 50ml. I’ll see once I finish my 10 ml if I still want a larger bottle, but for now, I’m fighting the impulse to buy it! Two sprays lasted an entire day for me and it stayed on my scarf far beyond that. It’s a perfect unisex that isn’t masculine leaning at all! If anything, it’s a very sensual feminine scent. Like, this is what I think of when I think of what a sexy mysterious woman smells like. But also this smells like a sexy man! lol...perfect unisex. I bought this because I just purchased BSB Blonde Ambition oil and love it so I wanted the actual inspired by perfume.

Take Lattafa Khamrah (or Gissah Sava), make it slightly less sweet so it’s not cloyingly sweet, and then make it way darker or more oudy. It’s like a dark ominous Khamrah; so it’s dark and ominous but very sexy. That’s what I’m getting. Update: This smells like a darker MFK Grand Soir with a hint of added dark fruitiness of Khamrah to make it a bit sexier and more playful. But to iterate, it’s very similar to MFK Grand Soir. To replicate this scent, I suspect you could try layering 2 sprays of MFK Grand Soir with 1 spray of Lattafa Khamrah (or Gissah Sava or French Avenue Royal Blend Nero [black bottle], which are all smell-alikes). Layer side-by-side so all sprays can project equally. I tried that combo and it smells similar from memory of smelling Blonde Amber thoroughly two days ago; it's just a hint brighter than Blonde Amber.

Though the ambery vanilla dry down is very familiar. The quality and multifaceted of this can’t be denied. It gives me pleasure because in the first 1-2 hours it is giving me hint of everything, “ it smells mainly like a boozy ambery sweet vanilla scent ” but it has this sparkling quality of soft florals, tobacco, booziness rum, sour citrusy, sweet dried fruit and sweet amber. Distinctively unique opening for sure. At the heart it reminds me a lot of Les Indemodables Vanille Havane, but Blonde Amber is deeper, sweeter, less of that tobacco, and projects stronger/farther. If you have money to spend, it is one of the mainstreamed fragrances that is very good. If you like this kind of concoction but less sweet, with a bit more ashy tobacco and vanilla base instead of tonka, try Vanille Havane. It is more affordable too.

I love it, I just got another bottle. It's an 11 out of 10 for me. But I was curious and went to see what all of you said since last year, despite the hype. It seems to land for most people as boozy, resinous, “luxury amber” done in a very polished way. The opening often reads rum + spice + a bright bitter-citrus flash, sometimes a little sharp/syrupy for a few minutes, but the drydown is where the hype comes from: a warm, smooth amber with vanilla/tonka and a “golden” glow. A lot of you pick up a textured core of dried fruits (prune/raisin vibe) plus a refined tobacco/incense impression (olibanum/myrrh), which gives it that Art Deco / black-tie / expensive aura. I agree with that 100%, and it's the best dried fruit note out there right now. The biggest debate is its (insane) price/value: I agree on that too.

An amber masterpiece. Do not judge it on the opening. Give Blonde Amber at least 15 minutes of dry down before forming an opinion. What begins slightly sharp and restrained slowly reveals its true character. As it settles, rum, cardamom, and ginger rise first to become warm, spiced, and quietly intoxicating. They’re followed by a soft, almost glowing blend of dried fruits, sandalwood, and tonka, creating a composition that feels both intimate and luxurious. Nothing shouts. Blonde Amber is smooth, resinous, and deeply comforting without ever becoming sweet or cloying. If Grand Soir is reserved for a special night out, then Blonde Amber is for the most special and intimate moments. Close quarters. Low light. Soft conversation. The kind of scent that lingers on skin, not in the room. Wow.

Holy Grail quality right here. Top 5 on my all time list right up there with Tom Ford AA,Tauer LDDM and TT Laudano Nero. The drydown is the best in the business. Superbly masculine,refined, timeless and elegant. Super original as nothing as smells like it well at least that I remember. Just flawless as the 4.58 rating is justified. 2 many notes to name but what I get is a smooth somewhat sweet and moreso resinous vibe from the tobacco, myrhh,rum and dried fruits. Lasts all day with a nice scent bubble. Unfortunately it's out of my price range so I will opt for the Lattafa which I expect to be somewhat close and that's A OK for my wallet.

I purchased this from a local boutique when they had a 20% off black Friday deal. Spent more then I would have on discounters, however the immediate gratification was worth the extra. Plus anything can happen during shipping.This is one of my favorite colognes in my collection. Its a beautiful fragrance, I love the booziness with the fruit notes. As it dries down the fragrance settles into an excellent base of vanilla and tonka on my skin. I get excellent longevity with good sillage. I know it smells great when girls are breaking their neck when I walked past🤣 If you got the cash spend it with confidence, you can't go wrong with this.

I don’t understand the hate. This is the best fragrance ever and I’m glad I got my bottle for an incredible deal afew years ago. Cause I don’t think I’ll ever get it again for that same price. Too bad it’s still really expensive even off discounters for a 50ml. This is better than angel share and side effect and any other like boozy amber DNA with vanilla and etc. this has more depth and more complex and just great.

It's quiet a nice fragrance but kind of overpriced even if you manage to get a 50ml bottle for around $200. Sweet tobacco, vanilla, and a little fruity. It lasts quiet a long time and projects decently for awhile. It's a darker scent, but at the same time it's kind of airy enough for me to personally be able to wear it all year round. This is probably the only Clive Christian that I plan to keep in my collection.

Rich, beautiful, elegant, very very slightly gourmand and sweet. The hype surrounding this fragrance is justified and definitely a winter banger if you can find it for under retail. apart from the high price this fragrance is the best special occasion fragrance although wearing this as a slightly younger person, people say I smell like a rich old person. Should that be considered a compliment?

I wanted to hate this because it's so expensive, but F it's good. It's rich, warm and everything I want in an amber perfume. There are so many notes, but are so well blended they all get entangled with each other making it hard to pick them out. And the staying power, I took a shower, didn't reapply, and still smelled like it in the morning. I fear I shall be purchasing a bottle, dang it!

I finally got a bottle for a good price $180. (330-150 with discount and cashback) Such a wonderful scent. Its sweet, ambery, boozy, and vanilla with that tone of dried fruits, tabacco, oriental spice, and floral nuances. Opens up boozy with bitter orange. The heart is blonde tobacco with ambers, and florals. The base is tonka and vanilla. Cold weather, special occasions banger. 10/10.

I purchased a full bottle at retail price. This smells amazing. People will find a way to say something negative about this fragrance solely because it’s price. I wore this out once last year on a cooler day....compliments were coming from random people. I will say Montale has a fragrance called Oud Tobacco that is similar to Blonde Amber. However Blonde Amber still smells better.

It makes me feel like a Reverend Mother from the Bene Gesserit order. A magnificent fragrance in every single phase—I don't regret a single pound spent on it. Very sophisticated and otherworldly. Comparing this to that gaudy "upgrade" is a complete insult to perfumery as an art form. It’s like parading around the block with a fake Hermès bag bought at a Turkish bazaar in Belek.

Easily one of the best in my collection. You can throw this on and it’s guaranteed to get you compliments and people asking what you’re wearing. You don’t need compliments to realize how amazing this is blended. I think you could wear this pretty much anytime but preferably dressed up or jeans and a hoodie or flannel. High heat might be tough. 10/10 blind buy!

Just the best autumn/winter nightime perfume I personally know of. Keep in mind I have prolly tried 500+ fragrances, this is my NO.1. Have not found anything better than this, so I gave up trying. Unfortunetaly not worth the retail price.. sorry but no perfume is worth 600€, even if you are a rich millionaire. Keeping my bottle for a looong time hopefully🫶🏼

Has 3 different stages. Opens with a strong Cardamom/Labdanum/Tonka/Orange that gives me YSL 6 Place St-Sulpice vibes (that one is 125ml for half the price). Mid-phase is Orange/Tobacco a la Xerjoff Decas. Drydown is mostly sweet Tonka/Fruity Peach. Overall, a very well-crafted complex fragrance that is unfortunately just not worth the price of $550/50ml.

It smells like what you would expect Bruce Wayne to smell like: Dark and brooding, with a sweet side; like old money and cigars. That being said, it’s a beautiful fragrance, but DO NOT BUY IT AT RETAIL PRICE!!! Find a discounter that has it in stock and buy it from them, you’ll save at LEAST $200

A very rich-smelling oriental winter fragrance. Smells masculine to me. Very good longevity, strong projection. The most prominent notes to me are the dried fruits, rum, tonka and white tobacco. This seems fit only for older men in formal attire. The name 'blonde amber' fits the scent very well.

At first I tested it on a strip and didn't care for it. Then I sprayed it on me and when i got home I was blown away by how good this smells. Up close, I do get the grape soda people often bring up. But the scent bubble tells a whole other story that you must experience for yourself.

@jax22, that must be some serious rage bait... this is an amazing scent this is better then inito side effect and all other fragrances that are similar. lol for 70$ you would get this. This is known and like one of the best scents ever for a reason. Just get it off discounters

To me it smells like a smoother less synthetic version of side effect but with a grand soir amber dry down. It’s definitely more unisex than side effect and grand soir which lean masculine. Its addictive can’t stop spraying but have to remember to save since it’s so expensive

Elegance and class in a bottle. A masterpiece. Masterfully crafted, a perfume for date nights and special occasions. Sexy, boozy, alluring...anything you'd wish from a fragrance. Price tag is terrible tho. You're paying for prestige apart from the excellent quality.

My god, one word to describe this fragrance is glorious. It’s so well blended and so seductively smooth, you just keep going back to your hand to sniff it. The price point is pretty significant, but I kind of see how excellent it is. It literally smells like money.

Woaaow!! Blown away by this fragrance. This has everything that Grand Soir was missing in my opinion. I love grand soir but this takes amber to next level. Boozy fragrance lover dream. Long lasting and projects nicely justifying its price point. Amazing fragrance.

I bought Amberwood from this house, its a softer creamier version but this one is the louder and in your face; boozy amber take and i love this as well, much more suitable for autumn + winter wear. This also reminds me of jump and kiss me hedonistic. 9/10

This is SO nice. It does start off more masculine but the dry down is 100% unisex. Not too strong and lasts for hours. Not something I would personally wear in the middle of summer, but others could pull it off. The only downside to this is the price.

Well what can I say it's a wonderful scent. It's warm, slightly sweet, and of excellent quality, something everyone will definitely enjoy. The price is too high for me. If money wasn't an issue, I'd buy it right away and put it in my closet.

This fragrance is really good, very boozy at the start and some kinda like toffee ish notes, but it can be cloying or too sticky smelling , you should get the dupes if you wanna save money

Are you kidding me?! Best scent I have ever smelled. I blind bought this and thought it would be great, but this is actually mind blowing. I am in shock.

i smelled blonde amber and side effect side by side their dry down is nearly identical but opening is little bit different after 15 min they are same.

I hate to say it but this is amazing and deserves all the hype. For the price I wish it lasted longer. Nonetheless, a very beautiful amber frag. 10/10
