Clive Christian C for Men opens with a very harsh and masculine character. It paints the image of a man with stubble, riding a heavy black motorcycle, wearing an old but well-maintained genuine leather jacket. The oud here feels somewhat synthetic, carrying a slight gloominess that directly recalls Amouage Interlude Man—but in a much more simplified and toned-down form. As time passes, the fragrance undergoes a serious transformation. The dominant leather and oud from the opening gradually step back, while a jasmine or hedione-like white floral nuance emerges from the background. If this part were a more natural white flower, it could easily be perceived as a smooth sandalwood-like transition. At this stage, the scent softens and evolves into a more balanced and fluid character. In the drydown, there is a dramatic contrast compared to the opening. It makes you question how the fragrance reached this point. The initially dark, masculine, and intense structure shifts into something softer, almost unisex—bordering even on slightly feminine in its final phase. Overall, it is a highly complex, evolving fragrance that requires a trained and perceptive nose. It is not for everyone and is definitely not safe for a blind buy. However, for those familiar with Amouage Interlude Man, it becomes much easier to understand the axis from which this scent begins and the entirely different place it eventually reaches. 10/7.5 SANAT :10/1000000

I’m fairly new to the fascinating world of fragrances - it was only after a blind buy of Aventus on a plane did I realise that there was a level beyond the usual “designer” stuff that is typically found in your average department store. Clive Christian’s C was my 2nd blind buy. I was obviously feeling rich and frivolous that day. I got the stuff home and sprayed and immediately thought “Oh God, what have I done?” It was nothing like the fresh mass-appealing scents I’d been used to. After a few minutes I began to notice all sorts of things happening. After another 30 minutes yet more things were happening. This stuff just didn’t stop still on my skin. It felt like I was smelling a slightly different fragrance every time. It just kept going on and developing for hours. I hadn’t smelled anything quite like this before - and if truth be told I still haven’t. This is an amazing complex truly magical fragrance. I liken this to Branford Marsalis’ modern jazz piece “Lykief” which opens with a glorious theme and then develops into a complex, ever-changing masterpiece, with the theme running through the apparent chaos. C is, for me, Lykief in a bottle. I’m always amazed at the reviews on here - it’s apparent that our sense of smell is highly subjective. For me this perfume is nothing like Tom Ford’s Tuscan Leather. I love Tuscan Leather too - it’s a beautiful but linear and straightforward fragrance and worthy of the praise it receives. But Clive Christian’s C is simply in another league and to me it smells quite different. I know there seems to be a trend to bash Clive Christian - probably because of the price and unashamed exclusivity they project, but I have to say that I keep coming back to the fragrances from this house because there’s just something special about them (and not just the price!). C is, perhaps, the most special of the ones I’ve tried. It’s fabulous.

I spent enough time with this fragrance so that I can give my two "scents" properly :) I would start by saying this is a scent that can be compared to no other (to my knowledge). It is a sweet smoke sort of scent at first and then it goes into more complex notes. This scent reminds me of the cold winter evenings where you would get wafts of smoke from chimneys mixed with the crisp winter air. I get distinct scent of raspberry in this composition although this note is not listed. Meloxy said "this is a Picasso painting in a bottle" and I could not agree more. This scent has been upgraded to my signature perfume. If religion had an odor, it would smell like this complex perfume; the agarwood has indeed spiritual connotations. The delicate snow lotus, the jasmine and saffron together with tonka balances the harsher olibanum, styrax and leather notes, while the tobacco accords surround everything to give you that ultimate smoky raspberry sweetness. Christian Provenzano is an amazing creator so unsurprisingly this fragrance is phenomenal. Scent: 10/10 Longevity: 10/10 Sillage: 10/10 Cost ratio: 8/10 Overall: 9.5/10 Signature scent worthy. The rare and high quality ingredients in this masterpiece justify the price but most of all its the price you pay for a fantastic perfumer that creates such a beautiful fragrance.

Phenominal,I have CC no.1, X and 1872, but had decided I had moved on since getting these parfumes. Recent favourites and wishlists are from the stables of Tom Ford, Creed and Amouage. Today I was in selfridges and they had the old brigade of Clive Christian CC parfumes that I have, and with them on show was "C" and "V" for men, so while I was there I thought what the hell I'll try them just so I'd know what they're like, not expecting them to be so good, and so contemporary. The two are similar in some respects yet so different, "C" has less depth than "V" which a much more mature and deeper fragrance, "C" is shallower in composition but makes up for it with a highly honed rapier thrusting at you from the offset, this lasts some time untill it begins to fade around 6hrs from application, "V" just keeps giving and in my mind it doesn't reach it's best until 2hrs in when a fully rounded ensemble surrounds you and in intoxicating music. Hell "C" and "V" are the best outright positive impact to parfum I have experienced, this includes my first introductions to Amouage Epic Man, similarly with Creed Aventus, hell no they were head and shoulders above even these excellent parfumes. I have started saving for them right now and put some of my other wants and wishes on hold CC I am Back!

NevilleM has the notes down cold, and while there are comparisons between this and Tom Ford Tuscan Leather, simply put they are NOT the same thing. Not even the same composition other than the core leather notes and a couple of surrounding elements. C has a lot going on at once. I'll admit my own hesitancy at the price, but the proof is right there in the bottle. The strength and longevity on C is incredible! There is also much more complexity, so those subtle nuances such as the rose and raspberry in the heart and the tobacco and oudh in the base are far more captivating than even Tuscan Leather. And yes, this is also a pure perfume. Granted you could purchase almost 5 times as much of the Tom Ford as the Clive Christian, that isn't quite the point. When you can smell them side-by-side, you'll truly be able to distinguish which is which. Tuscan Leather is a fantastic fragrance without question. While there are similarities, C is definitely not the same fragrance. Where Tuscan Leather is a great daily wearer, C is that special occasion fragrance with that x-factor that breaks the envelope.

Fragrance -C for Men Clive Christian Bottle from - 2015 C for Men is amazing,well-blended and one of the best leather-based fragrance.It's very similar to the Tuscan Leather by Tom Ford,there's no question about it.I really love this fragrance.I don't think that you need C for Men and Tuscan Leather.But one of them is a must have. Longevity - 10/10(10+hours) Silage/projection - 9/10(several feet away for the first 3-4 hours) Weather - autumn,winter Age - 25+ Compliments - 9/10 Scent - 10/10 (one of the best leather-based fragrance) Main Notes According to me - oud,leather,tonka bean,raspberry,amber,saffron The drydown is nice and i get some woodiness,leather and tobacco. Emotions -sophisticated,sweet,amazing,sexy,passionate,rich,class Perfect for special occasions,formal events and night out. Very elegant,impressive and sophisticated scent. Definitely will get everyone's attention.You'll get compliments with this one.I recommend this fragrance.

Autumn-winter C...o0o! Dopo due anni di assenza CCC e' tornato nel mio armadio. Nel frattempo ho dovuto prostituire il mio corpo per mettere insieme un po di euro. Partiamo dal prezzo alto che pero' e molto conveniente vista la densita,qualita e durata.peccato per il formato che parte da un 50 ml rispetto ai 30 ml di altri profumi di questa casa. Per quanto riguarda il succo lo trovo magico. Al naso magnetico,pungente all'inizio e sempre presente elegante,pulito,arioso e vivo. Alla mente mi riporta a cavalli neri, selle pulite, sigari cubani e caramelle alla frutta, fiori limpidi, rose,timo,zafferano,tonka,ambra calda,OUD... Insomma tanta roba e buona! Se hai passato i 30,vesti in pelle,sei fumatore,e vuoi sentirti come un cavaliere moderno devi provare questo. 9/10

Breathtakingly gorgeous scent,words are not enough to describe this beauty even the bottle is fabulous. This is a kind of adictive scent just like Black Afgano , once you start wearing it you cant stop . Huge longevity but the scent goes delicate as time passes I can detect very adorable Jasmin & leather notes and you can feel the Vanilla note in the back stage adding somehow a creamy face to the Leather-Jasmin combo,but wait this is only the start of the alfocatory journey because this scent morphs into many different stages that is so complex to describe, I have to wear it more to understand this beauty. Last point, although it is powerful scent I think it is suitable for the whole year day & night ,but it is soo marvelous to just use it as an every day fragrance.

BEAST MODE!!! Fables are told of the greatness of this scent. I don't care how close it smells to TF Tuscan Leather, this monster is LEGIT! It last on my skin like a tick on a hill-billy. I don't blame anyone for stepping down to the TF alternative or even La Yaqawam or the Cobra an the Canary. To me, though this juice is worth the wallet shrinking squeeze. I rarely talk about notes in my reviews as everyone else does, but the leather and raspberry tickle my nose like a goose down pillow! It makes me feel like I just added 6 zeroes to my bank account balance. My girlfriend rips my clothes off and rides me like the leather saddle I smell of. So, yeah, count me in the fold of disciples of this leathery beast named C! I am in LOVE! My Score: 10

Ok I just received my bottle today. This was a blind buy. I have sprayed it on my hand not five minutes ago so this will be my very first quick impression: Upon initial spray I was instantly reminded of Tuscan Leather mixed with a healthy dose of Songe d'un Bois d'ete by Guerlain. Of course some different things were going but that was the instant mental image. After about 5 minutes this beautiful smoke is creeping up that is a bit smouldering in nature and which I find to be reminiscent of but not too similar to the oud smoke in Amouage Interlude (and not nearly as loud). Extremely complex. It has certainly piqued my interest and I am thus far definitely satisfied with this adventurous blind buy.

CCC is what would happen if Parfums de Marly Godolphin and Tom Ford Tuscan Leather had a kid, and the kid turned out to be a mild mannered gentleman with a tobacco smell, taking the best characteristics of each. Watchout though, there’s a Men’s version and a Women’s version, and they smell different, and even the salesperson at Neiman Marcus didn’t know about this. (They kept giving me the women’s C). The longevity of CCC is the longest of all the CCs that I have. Although I would classify CCC as a tobacco scent, yet it still is pleasant. Personally, CCC is my favorite CC fragrance. Better than X, better than Cypress. It is an all year all day round fragrance.

Juliet loved Romeo because he wore this. When Ludacris was smellin, feelin like a million bucksah, he was wearing this. Rose yelled for Jack on the Titanic because he was wearing this. Worth every penny. Longevity is fantastic. Projection is really good, enough to announce that you're about to enter the room and lets people know you were there after you leave, but all in a good way as this is highly refined, dignified, and enjoyably intoxicating. Defy the snoots, wear this anywhere and everywhere, except the beach maybe as it ain't tropical. I highly recommend at least stop and experience it. It really is that good. 10/10

I tested this fragrance and took a sample. In the store, my friend pointed out that it smells a lot like 'the scent I wear all the time....' He was talking about Tuscan Leather. I agreed with him but noticed differences once I got a couple good days wear out of Clive's C. I agree with the reviews that say C is a little more complex, but I still prefer my TL..even if they were the same price. It's just a matter of taste. There is definitely no reason to own both C and TL.......but BOTH are WONDERFUL. BUT choose one of these wonderful fragrances.

Absolutely gorgeous scent. This is a scent that is at once cozy and begs to be worn indoors for a romantic night but also is sophisticated and smells so divine that it makes a nice date night out fragrance as well. One of my top fragrances i've ever put my nose on, Clive Christian C is a painting that reveals more every time you experience it. The florals that come and go, the resins that recede in and out like an oceanic tide.... this is why I love perfume. 10/10 and a must-try for anyone who enjoys deep oriental resin/leather/smokey scents.

To the review below stating that Montale Aoud Leather smells the same and has the same performance, that is complete and utter nonsense. They are in the same ballpark as far as scent but there are also clear differences and they're easily distinguishable. As far as performance, you couldn't be any more wrong. Montale is nice and average performance, the Clive C is ridiculously potent, like 1 spray will last more than a day strong

I Love this!!! No words really... I liked X and thought that was my favourite but I had it confused with this one. C is special...magical...enchanting. I took the plunge and bought a bottle regardless of the price because I just had to have it never smelled anything like it. Tom Fords Tuscan Leather is superb and definitely very similar but I prefer this as it just feels less heavy and more uplifting to me. Genius!

Here Here @HAL9000 eloquently put! I see the resemblance but as you quite rightly put they are also very different. This is one of my ALL TIME favorites and Tuscan Leather doesn't even really feature on my radar, despite being a fan of the TF Private Blend line. If they were that identical you'd think I'd hold Tuscan Leather in higher regard? Again just my opinion you should make up your own mind.

A fragrance that any men looking for something classy and exotic must have. One spray on me lasted for over 20 hours and the oud just kept on going and going. Post note: Clive Christian's fragrances are all very complex and the oud in this fragrance is really superior. Never wear it while you are trying other Western styled oud based fragrance because they will never be this good.

This scent is the missing piece in my collection. Not just that, upon testing this one throughout the day, I can confidently say that I have found my signature fragrance. The Oud, spice and leather combo that comes off when the drydown starts is out of this world, and it manifests after a 'soft' opener. Its ever-changing nature during drydown makes it a must-wear for me.

This is an absolute masterpiece. A cologne made for royalty. Unbelievable depth and evolution. Unbelievable longevity and it will garner many compliments. Honestly, a heaven on earth experience throughout. It should NOT be compared to Tuscan Leather. I own and wear both. This is on a entire different level.

The decant of Tuscan Leather that I received from the Tom Ford counter must be fake; otherwise, there must be something wrong with my nose. How come CCC for Man and Tuscan Leather smelled so different to me while so many people said they smelled identical?

This is extremely sexy -- warm, confident, primitive yet highly refined; while Tuscan Leather is cooler, sweeter, somewhat flatter and more airy. I'd consider this an animalic leather fragrance instead of an oud one.

More than anything I smell smoked raspberries and a slight hint of leather. The Oud smells both sexual and regal. It almost feels like talking dirty in a tuxedo while stepping out of a limousine.

The best perfume that I have ever smelled... Leather, tobacco are dominating. Like the best quality cigar's fume with spices and very light our and rose... :) it is amazing!!!

As good or better than TF Tuscan Leather. Outstanding saffron with some extra stuff like tobacco and vanilla. Fantastic, masculine fragrance.

What a great scent! Sorry Dear Tuscan Leather but I have to admit that this is better than you and indeed more expensive too....

Ombré Leather totally uplifted this and made it better for less than half the price. However, this is still decent.

I own most of the Clive's fragrances. This is definitely my favorites. Its smells distinctive.

Tuscan Leather Tom Ford , no doubts

This I couldn't resist! Love it.

A truly decent fragrance made of high quality materials. Excellent top notes - raw green set against sweet yellow. It's aromatic in a citrusy honeyed sort of way. Clive Christian C does develop different nuances, some change so quickly - There was a glimpse of a girlish fruity note that astounded me because it faded so quickly that i thought i was having delusions. The minty aromatic character is very enjoyable and gives the leather a comfortable reminiscence of other fragrances. Then there is the woody-tobacco facet which maintains its hold from start to finish, but is given different readings through the different stages. About an hour into C things settle down to a base that is no longer excellent. The fragrance still smells expensive, but has lost its wow factor, and has turned into a typical tobacco-woody character with a touch of amber. Just composed of better materials. C has the swagger, but not the humor. It's just so serious, it's almost stale. If that fruity note i thought i smelled lasted longer it could have actually moved this fragrance into a very different direction. A direction that would have made me do things that people don't usually do to their fragrances. Pity. ****(*)

Tuscan Leather is one of my very favorite scents - I own a bottle of it and know it well - so, mindful of the comparisons between that and Clive Christian C I tried a Nordstrom sample. (And I bet this constant comparison with Tuscan Leather drives the Clive Christian people nuts!) Same general vibe, yes, but TL is more of a leather scent. CCC is leather with something else. There is a somewhat astringent, medicinal note in CCC that is not in TL that puts me off a bit. It must be the oud. Also, I find that I usually don't like amber - perhaps that's what's causing me grief. In general, I like this (it is obviously a quality scent), but... no. I wouldn't buy it. My ranking of the TL's and TL smell-alikes is as follows: 1. Tuscan Leather 2. Montale Aoud Leather 3. Rasasi La Yuquawam Homme 4. Clive Christian C

Un trying this fragance now and i can also find a very Big similarity with tuscan leather... But i think i would prefer the Tom Ford one!! It is true that maybe the CC One shows a better quality, It is more intense and has a better performance...but i dont really like the smell. I think that the sditon of oud yo the fruity lesthery combinación id not the best opción for me because makes the juice todo dirty and not very werrsblr... If you like animalic and dirty perfumes im sute you Will LOVE C but if you like sweet and fruity Inés better Tom Ford... This has to be one of most sensual and beautifully blended leather fragrances out there today. The central leather note is expertly sweetened ( this one begins with a strong leathery whiff but begins to sweeten in its dry down very fast) with notes of amber, musk, tonka, tobacco, jasmine, rose and citrus. Lovely pronounced sillage, projection and longevity. Unisex, although leaning a bit on the masculine side. This is a luxury but a beautiful one. Splendid for special occasions that call for refined elegance and charm.

Reading the com, I see that most of them are referring to the new 2017 version!!! Clearly you don't make the difference between pepsi vs coca cola!!! The first version of C for Men is totally different from the 2017 version Saying that C for Men resembles Tuscan Leather is like saying that Mirinda resembles Fanta

No getting around it: this and Tuscan Leather smell very much alike. (And they are both first cousins to Montal's Aoud Leather.) But this is way overpriced, compared to Tuscan Leather which is merely overpriced. The stuff smells great, however. Fantastic. $375/bottle great? No.

I've tried this on several times now. On me, C smells a lot like some of Nasomatto's Duro. It is an overwhelming blast of synthetics (at least on me), all of which add up to that "new car smell" spray that you can buy at auto parts shops. I can still smell it a day later after washing my arms several times, so longevity is amazing, as was sillage. I really enjoy leather scents (Bel Ami and Cuir Mauresque are my tops), but this one is not for me unfortunately.

Similar to Tuscan Leather? Yes. C is a more refined, mature, and classy scent in comparison to TL. TL is a much rougher leather note, which I know some people dislike about that fragrance. If you are looking for a less rough, but equally amazing fragrance, you can't go wrong with C for men. As for performance, this stuff lasts twice the amount of time on me than my TL (pre-reform). To summarize this comparison, C is like the grown up version of TL.

I love the smell of real leather so much! Not a fan of these type of perfume leather scents. Nothing like real leather to me. Have several leather jackets and boots and sofas, ... this smells much more weird and and plastic. Maybe they spray new cars or designer handbags with something like this, otherwise I have a hard time to associate many of these perfume "leather" accords with any natural smelling leather.
