L for Women

I love this, the unexpected lightness of the fragrance. Without looking at the notes I found the overall impression I get is rose scented geranium. This note is usually very short-lived in fragrances but this "L" seems to get the overall note without using the fleeting geranium essential oil. This is a very comforting scent. Doesn't last long enough, though.

After trying L for Men I was curious as to how this would compliment it so both myself and my girlfriend tried it in store. As you'd expect there's a very good quality rose and jasmine in here which is understated compared to the central theme of pepper. Starts out with an opening of black pepper then progresses to a fruitier, fresher, pink pepper vibe. There's a suggestion of smoke in here and greenness of vetiver and patchouli, I like it but more so on a female. A wonderful smell, great performance but it's up to you whether it's worth the money.

This perfume makes me want Chanel Chance. I feel the 2 are very similar, with the Chanel being a little sweeter. Even looking at the notes, they are very similar. What first drew me to this fragrance is the fact that they are using 3 different types of pepper. I like pepper and thought this was very interesting. Obviously this perfume is very heavy on the pepper, mostly black pepper, with a small amount of vetiver and patchouli. To me this smells like a female character from a Dostoevsky or Tolstoy novel.

It's light, lovely and very rosy - meaning that you can really smell the rose in it. A pink one, actually, because red ones are more pungent. However, the price is too high for its poor longevity - it vanished from my skin within an hour or so.

Look no further - much cheaper alternative Florabotanica was launched two years ago! Exactly the same as L!! I cannot justify the price tag of L, given the lack of originality.
