V for Women Fruity Floral With Dark Plum

Love at first sniff. Blind bought this from a glance at the pyramid and I wasn’t disappointed. Strong plum note that’s almost liquor like. Lasted about six hrs on skin and ten and a half hrs on clothing.

ok, at first sniff it instantly reminded me of Asian herb shops! and the dry down is a dark plum, very smooth blend, I actually love it very much. one of my favourites.

awesome scent...in a very good way, like those dextrose candies . Is it even still being produced?

Ok, wow. I ordered a fb, blind, based on the possibility of it being close to TF Plum Japonias which is an all time fav of mine...it maybe shares the tiniest vibe, and honestly I am having trouble stating that so should just say the two are not similar. Also, this is my very first sniff/try with any CC. I am on my second round of spraying on skin and clothes 4 hours after my 1st spray only on my arm. I am easing into this scent as my initial reaction was not super positive as I was hoping for some fruity sweetness. There is not. The vibe I get is like glass of scotch in a forest with a wool sweater or scarf on. Peat? No, but again there is definitely something boozy. There is more of a burnt woodsy note than incense exactly. I like it overall. I am appreciating it on a different level and am looking forward to wearing it. It is not my norm and different than 99% of my collection. It does remind me of other scents that I am scratching my head on. Forgive me for suggesting this too, but if molecule 01 by escentric molecules was more smellable all of the time, not just here and there to my nose, this still wouldn’t be the scent, but it may be a worthy comparison. I find all earlier reviews here helpful and accurate in many ways. Worth a try, definitely. Easily unisex.

I received 12 especially boxed samples. CC has often owned my respect but never my heart, taste or common sense as money is concerned - I guess I just like louder or more contemporary for the money or when I feel ‘old school’ I just find other cheaper scents. I’m half way through the boxes atm when I came across this. Ironically it’s very much a ladies scent (old school) but jeez it’s good. Well made, maybe sadly stronger than the men’s scents, whilst it’s something I admit reminds me something my old aunt would wear from 40 years ago I can imagine it on my gf. Realistically heavy on the jasmine with indeed a dark plumb ballooning out the jasmine with yellows screaming across the top. Well... now CC has me ticking the recommendation box for ladies wanting a better than average old school floral and what’s really really weird is that I hate Jasmine and Yellow florals... hope that gives perspective...

I usually like something about a perfume but this might be an exception! I find it interesting, certainly, but more as a curiosity than as a pleasant experience! To me the fragrance notes mean nothing... I can say I have no idea what palmarosa or cassis are supposed to smell like, so can't really speak to their fidelity. But I definitely get no jasmine or plum.. what I smell is an indolic ouzo/absinthe vibe, but earthy like we are among the stereotyped hippies. I like it more as it settles, but more as an homage to aesthetic curiosity. Won't be wearing this one.

I liked the smell of this from the cap. But then I sprayed it, and the horror ensued. Maybe it was because I already had a bit of a headache starting, but by god this was STRONG and also very bitter. It seriously gave me a massive migraine, and this is coming from a perfume lover that has pretty much tried everything under the sun. The one with patchouli smelled better but still extremely strong. I’m not even sure what audience or outfit or occasion this would go with. Sorry I don’t mean to hate but this was a shock from me.

This is a first-impression review only. Since I did not see any others, I figured I would add some thoughts in case someone was looking for information on this scent prior to purchasing it. I've been wearing it for three days in a row, and I find it very similar to Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir. I smell mostly rotting coniferous wood, Comet cleaner (the powder version) and amber. I love the fresh lavendery smell of Comet, so this is a plus for me. There is also a bit of fruit and flower in there, but they are not very noticeable. The scent is semi-dry, aromatic and unisex in my opinion. This fragrance reminds me of hiking in the Fall in the Northeastern part of the U.S. after it's been raining. Crisp cold air, pine trees, decomposing leaves, branches and bark. For now, this is a "like". It's pretty in a quirky way, and the longer it stays on your skin, the fresher it becomes. It's not a deep and full-bodied scent, but it is rich and it projects well. Not very unique as Jo Malone came up with this idea before, but still. Happy sniffing! Edit: I've been wearing this for a month now, almost daily. The weather has changed drastically, from the hot and humid days of Summer to the cool days of Fall. The top fruity notes of this juice are now much more apparent, and it is my favorite part of this scent. A bit sweet, a bit sour. However, the bottom notes still appear to be earthy-woodsy-aromatic as I described before and thoroughly unisex. Sillage and longevity are average. Still a "like", but not a "love".

Perfect outcome that Clive Dark Plum. Concept, get the warm Incense like accord from the first 30 min settle and really funs up the very bitter dark Tea, Cassis Plum tandem is a movie, greatly blended of course, get slight milky gourmand after another quick while. Get nostalgic smokey on skin and bit sweet more aromatic on paper, really loving the overal of this, probably a heavy PH molder even if just these few notes listed, it has so much more going on, so for sure will get several different scents erupted in different climates. Indexed as for women but easily goes for unisex, it's quite masculine on this first tryout on skin by me. Elegant, all purpose formal. Again very pleased and surprized by the Clive blind purchase.

I finally managed to get my hands on this and at a significantly cheaper price from an e-Bay seller. Wow, it is a beautiful fragrance - unique to my nose, certainly as I had no idea what to expect with palmarosa or cassis (blackcurrant) notes. I love to get away from the usual suspects (vanilla in particular) and this is definitely an original composition by a creative perfumer. I will leave it in a dark place to settle for a week or so, as I find perfumes that contain a lot of natural ingredients need to do that, and I feel it will be even stronger too, especially when worn on cooler nights in autumn or winter. Thanks to the majority of reviewers below who gave me inspiration to take a chance on this one!

This fragrance is very unique to my nose. It's complex and Japonesque. While being faintly reminiscent of Tom Ford's Plum Japonais, to my nose this composition evokes a most unexpected image, and avid sushi lovers may resonate, this dark Plum is dry, spicy, aromatic and a bit salty -- just like the Ume Shiso roll. It's unusual and refreshing -- such a juxtaposition of notes definitely gets one's attention-- especially the savory dark plum paste accord. The lady who wears this fragrance is worldly, sophisticated, confident -- she sports an exclusive, hand-painted, black silk Kimono robe with elegant blossoms - a gorgeous find that she brought back as a souvenir from her business trip to Japan.

I feel like Clive Christian fragrances, at least the ones that are on the fresher-ish side, have a signature menthol/ green intense smell to them and that's highly present here. Palmarosa I initially was unaware of as a plant, but I did know it by 'gingergrass' and that is present here. The jasmine is strong and indolic, but not unpleasant. The plum isn't cloying or overly obvious. It does read a little boozy, though. A very enjoyable scent. I mightn't consider buying it, but that doesn't mean I don't like it. Besides, I might decide I need it.

V for women fruity floral is and old school chypre of the highest order. Bette Davis, might wear this or Lady Pamela Hicks. Wow did this come out swinging! First notes are powerful dark fermenting plum, and dying roses. I almost scrubbed it off. Half an hour later it is hauntingly beautiful and nostalgic. Close to the skin now like I’ve bathed with some lovely soap. Incredibly well blended, unmistakably high quality. I’m glad I tested it.

Cassis overload, jasmine, plum and something spicy like a chai tea (but without cinnamon or cloves) it also feels resinous. I don't think the pyramid note is complete, this scent is very complex and layered on my skin. I am glad I don't like it as much as I thought, because it is too expensive...and discontinued? Anyway, it is a very good scent, and I would use it if received as a gift.
