VIII Rococo Immortelle

I must be a sucker for benzoin-type fragrances. IO KO’s I.Egocentric and Dior’s Fahrenheit are already part of my limited collection and recently I added Clive Christian’s Immortelle. I find this to be an understated and exquisite scent. For me personally irresistible, hence the substantial investment. Is it too expensive? Probably yes, but I assume that this is a choice to keep it exclusive. Much like I.Egocentric, Immortelle is a perfume which stalks your thoughts. At first it’s rather an odd fragrance, certainly not mainstream. When I have a sample, I always try to give it the chance that it deserves. I spray it on my skin and follow it’s development during the day. Maybe something else the next day and then again the first one, to see if I still like it. Immortelle grew on me and as the sample was almost empty, I just had to have more of it. The myrrh, the benzoin, it’s addictive. I hope that others get to appreciate it too.

This one is simply outstanding - bitter, woody, herbal, boozy, deep, it shines in the fall time, it smells just slightly like Epic Man, but it goes its own way and oh boy does it deliver. The citruses here last maybe 3 minutes, and then the rich, deep immortelle arrives, showcasing its complex nuances and in this case, masculine elegance. This stuff is blended to perfection, CC is becoming a recent favorite discovery, their scents are high quality and blended to perfection. Immortelle and Contemporary are my favorites, but Crab Apple Blossom is also fantastic. I love their British finesse and polish. Thanks to this fragrance to exist in our world, this scent reminds me of a beautiful memories in my childhood and it’s really something special, it’s not just a fragrance for me. I wear and smell too many fragrances every day but once I sniff this scent it’s like taking my hand to a special place or something out of this world, it’s really out of this world 100%. VIII Rococo Immortelle by Clive Christian, I LOVE YOU... you so special for me.

The perfume has a warm and woody scent, from the beginning to the end. At a 8h working day in the office the sillage remains and the scent is still noticeable in the room. It is a bit more loud than Amouage’s Dia, but not too extroverted and annoying. A very nice British understatement perfume.

This one is verry under rated fragrance from clive because all the attention blond amber gets people always forget about hidden gems like this and amberwood

This is so addictive like it keeps pulling me back. Not everyone’s nose will appreciate but the ones it does, it rocks!

Stunning perfume. James Bond style.

This is an odd one. The opening is exceptionally similar to Penhaligon's Halfeti to my nose, Immortelle replicates the spicy herbalness of that scent really closely, it's just missing the rose. The first time I smelled this I assumed it had multiple spice notes (saffron, cumin, etc.) but this is a pretty "simple" scent. I do notice a very slight citrus in the edge of the fragrance, but overall the immortelle is the most prominent note in the opening. As it begins drying down, a dry vetiver comes forward to pair with the immortelle, but it's only noticeable closer to the skin. After a few hours this begins smelling really, really similar to E Gourmande Oriental with a strong and sweet amber note that smells a lot like maple syrup. Whatever amber is used in both fragrances is undoubtedly the same. I like Immortelle overall, but it's more so interesting than a really good fragrance. Performance is underwhelming overall. Projection is moderate, whilst sillage is moderate to dense. Longevity isn't the greatest, it's been little over 4 hours since I sprayed it on and, while it's still detectable on skin, it's not that strong and I doubt it'll go past the 6 hour mark (EDIT: I take it back, it made it to 8 hours). I'm sure this would perform better in cooler weather and spraying adequate amounts off a full size bottle or a decant.

I will have to wear this a few times to give a decent review. Immortelle is categorized by Fragrantica as a floral fruity gourmand, but I don't think that''s right. While immortelle is a dominant note, the fragrance is very warm and musky. Nothing gourmand-like at all. I see that someone compares it with Bois Marocain, which is a bit similar, indeed. Bois Marocain is greener and woodier, but they share the warm, spa-like feeling. Immortelle has way better sillage/longevity! Both go a bit sour in the late dry down (or is it bitter? hard to tell). This sourness/bitterness is also comparable with the late dry down of Journey Man from Amouage. Actually that is my least favourite part of Immortelle. Quality-wise, this scent is very good. I will wear it a few times more to see if I get used to the sour dry down. For now: 7/10

For me the Vetiver and Amber are the most noticeable notes. This is definitely very masculine, spicy and warm in a unique way.

Well made scent. Sophisticated. I was hopping for more immortelle. Addicting. Can't stop sniffing my wrist

A lovely mix between Amouage Memoir & Tauer Au Coeur du desert

99% Bentley for men (maybe 100% ) quite bad joke !!

I sprayed this in my office, and I was hit with the sudden thought that I need to go to church more often.The next person to walk in says, "It smells like an old church in here". I spared this fragrance muggle my retort explaining the note breakdown...but she was correct, it smells like an old church. That's a good thing. I like the smell. But for other buyers looking at this fragrance—know what you're getting yourself into.

This smells like a humidifier with vicks vapor rub in the background. Very muggy smelling. Reminds me of being sick with the flu. Also smells like paper (papyrus). I'm not keen on this mix of immortelle with papyrus. The drydown is pure papyrus which is good. Overall I was disappointed with this one, but I tried it again and it's not terrible. Scent 5/10 Performance 7/10

I got this sample for free with a purchase from fragrancebuy.ca. I'm wearing it right now. It reminds me of Bentley For Men Intense with better quality ingredients and not as intense (loud). Yeah, definitely higher quality version of Bentley for Men.

A hint of imortelle at the opening then myrrh takes over and stays until the end. Pretty bland, uninteresting and highly disappointing especially at the price it is sold. Scent: 5/10 Longevity: 7/10 Sillage: 5/10 Cost ratio: 0/10 Overall: 4.25/10 Save your money this Immortelle Noble VII is not noble and it is certainly not a timless perfume.

I’m so, so freaking mad that I like it and I feel guilty for that, this feels like a modification/combination of existing perfumes, but the perfumer really nailed this creation. Like HTF did u do that???? So magical yet so unoriginal. Literally, they make Amouage Epic Man(not as animalic) as the top. The heart is touched by a scent of slightly sweet immortelle, which eventually and surprisingly leads to the dry down that smells like Amouage Jubilation XXV Man. I’m speechless because it smells awesome but at the same time it is just an expensive combination. I may just buy 100ml Epic Man and 100ml Jubilation XXV Man from discounters, and spray them both side by side. But if you have so much more money, Clive Christian have already made it easier for you. Projection: Moderate to Intimate. Originality: 2/10. Craftsmanship: 9/10.

Smooth, simple, just radiates Clive C'ness, got the class, got the depth. Part of the opening Rock Rose type lemon and type ripe freshness with dry vetiver, but then amongst a bitter further forest sheer fineness. Got some manly classic to it too, but mostly keeps the special accent around the vetiver going and surprisingly adds on and turns animalic later in the mid.

Wearing this stunner today. My God the compliments I'm getting from this is staggering. The lemon and amber notes are front and center. However, the immortelle is dominating, turning this fragrance into an utter sublime sensation. Great choice for temps in the 70's and 80's.
