VIII Rococo Magnolia

Absolutely beautiful and blended to perfection. The florals are prominent but there is a warmth to this, I’m assuming from the cloves and cinnamon, which gives it such an addictive quality. It so many things at once - feminine, elegant, sexy, warm, fresh - and it just smells expensive. There’s really nothing else like it out there.

Ultra femenin, ultra classy! Hints at vintage perfumery but maintains a modern feel. Bright, creamy, kind of soapy, spicy florals with a sassy personality! Longevity is great, 7 hours+. I absolutely love it! Very beautiful perfume that creates a nice enveloping scentbubble that goes along for the whole day!

This is the best magnolia I've smelled in perfumery. I had a magnolia tree and regularly smelled the flowers and this nails magnolia flowers and pollens. Very elegant. Not sure I can pull this off as a male, but I'd recommend ladies try this. Stunning!

Absolutely lovely clean feminine-unisex fragrance. Because of the Magnolia note, it reminds me of Initio’s Musk Therapy & Lift Me Up. Great smell, overpriced asf tho

Genuinely friendly embrace from the classy rich aunt you maybe never even knew you had. Wonderfully put together to swerve all possible magnolia pitfalls - it never gets soapy or antiquated, but instead takes magnolia into a much spicier, quirkier, warmer place with all the cloves and cinnamon. Recognisably a grande-dame floral throughout, but while 'classic' magnolia can feel a little cold and old-fashioned and even a bit snobbish, this has the cool perfection of magnolia petal surrounded in a hazy cloud of body heat and clean skin. A brilliant twist which does for magnolia what Penhaligon's Lily & Spice does for lily - that's praise indeed. While it's more purely floral, way more expensive and much more femme than me or my usual favourites - there's no denying this gorgeous. I am no magnolia maven - love the note but I haven't explored it much - and Clive Christian's prices and bling usually rule it out for me ... can't help wondering if there are similar-smelling options in the market at lower prices. This wears reasonably well, with an interesting 'double bubble' effect, with a wide aura of petals and the cleaner end of floral spreading all around you for 1-2m, as well as a much smaller spicy zone of the warmer notes, the stronger the closer you get to your skin. Longevity is OK, with detectable larger sillage up to 4h and the skin layer maybe lasting 5 or 6. Not wonderful, for those stacks of cash. But I'd wear this with a gracious, hospitable smile any day of the week if someone else was paying. Truly welcoming as well as perceptibly upscale. Impressive AND endearing, which isn't an easy balancing act to pull off, but this manages it impeccably.

As an oakmoss lover, I was hoping this would be a bit more earthy and much less sweet. I don't really know why magnolia smells like. I just know that this fragrance has noticeable fruitiness, which is not generally what I like in a perfume, and it is very sweet. Probably a nice perfume if you like sweet fruity florals.

Oily magnolia with sour scent, oakmoss wet. It is good that I didn't trust reviews here. nothing really good enough. just an okay scent.

A while ago I spent one whole evening at Harrods sampling exclusive perfumes, and this one was the one that stood out for me. It is quite beautiful. Have kept sampling it at different stores ever since to see if it still smells as nice. It does. Will have to buy it at some point, because I miss it. Rococo Magnolia is a sweet and powdery floral fragrance.The powder note in it is not like baby powder or orris root notes. It somehow feels like a warm white powder itself. There are some silky smooth fragrances out there. This one is powdery in the same sense. It is both dry and soft like velvety white petals blended with a hint of honey. It didn't smell too sweet on my skin, however it really does smell very sweet on the paper samples. So I think it is important to try it on one's own skin. Not sure why this is called Magnolia. Grew up in a place where there were a lot of grand, white magnolia trees. Magnolia flowers have always smelled citrus like and fresh to me. This is quite different than both the real flowers and magnolia perfumes I am familiar with. Unlike the black bottle, the fragrance itself is definitely white. It is very warm and comforting like a soft pillow. The only negative thing I can tell about RM is its longevity. It is advertised as a long lasting pure perfume. For some reason it disappeared rather quickly on my skin. Considering the £350 price tag, one hopes for it to last a bit longer than an average EDP. Silage was not very heavy either. It sits close to the skin. It is okay by me, but can be an issue for those who expects their perfumes to be a bit stronger. Edit: Now that I have got a bottle and have used it for over a month my opinion about Magnolia has changed. Unlike the sample experiences the real fragrance does have a strong silage on me. I have been complimented and asked about it by total strangers. It obviously wraps you like a cloud and moves around with you. I do get less powder, more depth and warmth from it now. Unlike many fragrances, the fruity notes get noticed more in the dry-down but not in a shower gel kind of freshness. It keeps its dark and mysterious sweetness the whole time. This is definitely a very interesting perfume. I feel that we belong to each other and that when we meet we completely melt into each other.

Rococo Magnolia is a beautiful, soft slightly powdery floral. Oddly enough it smells very much like osmanthus on my skin, but as I mentioned in a review for Chloe's Magnolia, I have yet to smell a real magnolia flower so for all I know, this could be a perfect realistic interpretation. It's feminine and elegant without being overly bold or show-stopping, a great floral fragrance for migraine-sufferers. Although this fragrance is a lovely and easy wear, and the blend does have a luxe air about it, I do not think it's worth the retail value, it's not super unique or memorable.

Love this perfume.. so quality, sophisticated and complex ..smells soft and elegant, very feminine 🌸 But what I can disagree with is ... The Magnolia. I do smell here very prominent Ylang Ylang. Same raw and tropical Ylang like you can find in Ylang Ylang Nosy Be Perris Monte Carlo ( which is 10 times louder) and later a bit sweetened like in Psyhodelic Love Initio ... All I can say - Clive Christian’s magnolia is different magnolia , not the one we use to smell - neither fresh nor soapy flower.

I had ordered a small tester on Ebay so I can be sure this is what I want. And yesss! This is so classy dressed with a black shaw in sophistication up to the top notch. This is what a woman in her 40s would desire and to be desired after she spritzes this lovely fragrance on. What a gem.

Beautiful and sweet, but not too sweet. You can clearly sense the rose and the fruity notes. Addictive.

I think it’s nice and I cannot think of a more photorealistic magnolia. Quite sweet in the opening.
