X For Women

I wrote a nice review about modern fruity chypres. I flipping love Fruity Chypres. it just got lost in a computer crash. try again... sweet lactonic peaches. musky bananas and vanilla rose. with an undertone of cedar and the patch/oakmoss combo found in the Bottega line. it's is scrumptiously seductive, to my nose. quite linear and stays as a skin scent for many hours. The thing is, there are many splendid ingredients I recognise from various other perfumes, but the main thing though, is that this is indeed beautifully blended and also smells like Rush, without the poppers. worth the cash? are Clive's kitchens? depends on one's fundamental bling compulsion? not even that, it depends on so many things, of which I and nobody else is in a position to judge. we can all enjoy luxury and sparkle. My cousin has one of his kitchens. She loves fancy cars, massive rocks and a million quid house. Each to their own, I say. Im not gong to wax lyrical about my kitchen (not a Clive), as this is supposed to be a perfume review. but I'm happy driving an ancient Polo and wearing a big old topaz bought for £20 from the Antiques Roadshow lady, in an SW London table top sale, now a bit worn but still shiney and beautiful. bit like this 30ml bottle of CC X I procured from eBay. we are chalk. and cheese. not unlike CC X and Rush. not sure which perfume shouts the loudest, or about what. but they are jolly similar. like me and my cousin if you saw us standing together. I have been seduced by X. not by the label, the price tag or the CREST or CROWN. just the smell. thank you. shall be wearing this creamy peachy wonder often.

I picked up a bottle of this today as a blind buy and OMGosh I love it. I see where some say it’s linear, but I don’t get that at all. The fresh juicy peach at the beginning is just beautiful. The Ivy is what I believe is helping to elevate the fresh smell along with the tart bergamot. The opening last a good 30 to 45 minutes on skin, a tad bit longer on on clothes. When the heart comes in it sneaks up on you with that glorious rose and jasmine. Once again the rose smells very fresh and non cloying. Sometimes natural jasmine can have a sweetly pissy type smell and thankfully you get none of that here. Just a lightly hint of sweet and Thankfully I can detect no Orris root. I’m not a fan of anything powdery. The base still carries the fresh aspect with the lovely sandalwood/patchouli rounding it out the light grassy smell of the vetiver and the not overly warm vanilla making splendid dry down. As far as I’m concerned this is very much worthy of a signature scent. Yes the price is high, but can be found for much less if you know where to look.

My girlfriend rocks this and my world at the same time! It's very feminine and sophisticated. This is the scent of a woman, who deserves and requires your undivided attention. The woman who wears this knows where she's going, and you will want to follow her, to keep her safe. On the top you will smell a lightly sweet pineapple/peach. The jasmine, orris root and rose will all meet and greet in the middle. You'll be left at the end with a soft light french labdanum and vanilla, bringing these 8 prominent notes together making a perfect masterpiece. In my book, this would be a classified signature. This is an all day, everyday, every occasion wear. Ladies, give this Clive X Women a chance. Get after it!! Take a man's advice, my Clive X lady captured me and if you wear this you’ll be doing all the capturing too. Longevity 10/10 - I can smell this on my girlfriend all day. On the pillows too. Projection 8/10 - I can smell her when she walks by. But Clive X Women requires closeness and intimacy. 365 - 24/7

My girlfriend tried this a few weeks back and I was absolutely blown away by it. Clive Christian C for men is one of my all time favorites and X for men is very nice too. This however is spectacular and I was very tempted to wear it myself as I believe X to be sweet and fruity but at the same time unisex. Definitely get the Rhubarb note which I love and beautiful jasmine and musk. This alone would make you think feminine maybe but I get the vetiver and combinations of the other notes in here which create a sophisticated blend which is oh so right. I tried Gucci Rush the otherday and it bares a resemblance but a pale one really. Not to be a snob but I think this smells much better and more complex and exotic, and so it should for the price tag. Does it smell £100's better??? maybe not?!?!? That's for you ladies to decide and for me to decide whether my woman gets X or Gucci Rush for christmas....??? hmmmmm???

(Reviewing an older bottle of X for Women with an embossed Crown logo on the bottle) I haven’t gotten my nose on Gucci Rush yet (just ordered a bottle) to compare this but I do have bitter peach and they are similar (bitter peach is much more gourmand) and was immediately reminded of Mitsouko! X is fruitier and more peachy but it’s hard not to smell mitsy from this fruity chypre. X for women oozes class. It’s smells of luxury and refinement. Yes its muted and powdery but I love powdery fragrances. 1st impression on my skin: opens sparkling and fruity with peach and rhubarb. The fruits becomes creamy then florals enter, I’m getting jasmine and musk. I haven’t reached the dry down yet. I’m looking forward to more wears.

I can't remember how I obtained the samples, but a few years ago, someone sent me the first set of 3 for women, including the original one for Women, X for Women, and 1812 for Women. I fell in love with X, but have always felt unable to justify paying that much for it. At the time, I remember thinking that it was somewhat similar to Divine by Divine. Since I only had one smelling's worth of experience with X, my impression shouldn't be considered authoritative. There was nothing to remind me of Gucci Rush, which has always smelled brash and somewhat, dare I say, cheap? Your life will be much easier, however, if you forget about Clive Christian and convince yourself that Rush is just as nice!

I purchased it bcs i love love love Gucci Rush. And honestly, theres hardly any difference between gucci rush and x feminine. One woman even asked me if im wearing gucci rush, and where i purchased it since it is discontinued. Having stated that most obvious fact. Lets move on to why i own it, and why its never going to get decluttered from my perfume collection. Its a juicy gucci rush that lasta all day. Its not sufocating, but it will literally linger on you theoughout the course of the day. I get so many compliments, its easy to wear and very likeable. But why Clive Christian made a Gucci rush perfume and added his price tag is a mystery to me.

i love this scent !! this made me a clive christian believer. i was never that much compelled, having only smelled blonde amber (love) i tested this right after shower and it was on me for the next 24 hours.. no lie. unfortunately this beauty wont be in my collection for a while, as it reminds me alot of lalibela by memo but when i use more lalibela up i will purchase this. Its a cozy and sexy fruity peach smoothie. better then gucci rush due to longevity alone but it also is of better quality. i want this so bad but i have to wait :(

I have smelled this before in an exclusive perfume boutique. Gosh, it smelled so clasically british. First sniffed...it smelled so strong. But let it lingers for a while, mid notes begin to spread a nice flowery aroma. After 2 hours, when it getting lighter, it smells sweet and a bit fruitty. This perfume is rare in my country, I mean this brand. When I smelled it in Lane Crawford Hong Kong, I wonder why it called one of the most exclusive and most expensive perfume brand ever.....

I definitely get the strong Gucci Rush comparison initially. It softens quickly though. For the rest of the wear, I get the dry down of GR. Gucci Rush is a powerhouse. This is much more subtle for sure. Some might say more sophisticated & blended perfectly. I like it because I like Gucci Rush very much (I love Gucci Rush 2). Nice. It's intimate even with more than a few sprays. Overpriced for sure...but you are paying for the brand really. 😉

Soft, powdery peach that is just wonderful. The bottle itself is beautifully constructed, and luxurious. However, you can definitely get this scent with a cheaper price aka Gucci Rush (Bloomingdale’s Sale Lady also confirmed this). I would say the longevity of the fragrance isn’t that good, however it is such a common theme when it comes to niche fruity/florals in my opinion. Splurge on it if you have the money.

Rich and haunting. I blind bought a bottle because of all the comparisons to Gucci Rush. I've always loved Rush, but it's not working it's magic on my skin like it used to. X smells almost identical, but the drydown is far better. It works better on my skin. The notes blend effortlessly, making it a smooth fragrance. Sillage and longevity are excellent. Not for the faint-hearted - this is a beautiful monster.

I have a sample of this. It DOES smell like Gucci Rush but more exquisite, at least to me. I love it, but I can't speak about its longevity or deep drydown yet. The sample came with another X which says "woody spicy" on the échantillon, as they say in French. That smells effing good as well. I would totally buy these if I had a good job. these are carefully, subtly blended works of art. LOVE

I wish this was just a little stronger, because it's really lovely. Bright and fruity on the initial spray, dries down to a clean woody musk. Honestly ageless, I can see any woman wearing this any time of year. Sits close to the skin but lasts about 6 hours. Not offensive in the slightest, but also may not have the 'oomph' some expect an expensive fragrance to have.

Amazing perfume on me every time I wear it.bits a very classy sexy perfume on me. I smell the Base now tes and fruit. I just wear this at special occasions and all year round. The Fragrance takes me to a very Grand smiley place every time I wear Women X.

@yayaaroma’s review sums it up perfectly, really good longevity on this and the quality is better than Gucci Rush - it’s a keeper. I love Rush, but it only ever lasted about two hours on me, this lasts all day.

I believe....yes, I know!....this is by FAR my favorite peach forward fragrance :o) It smells divine right from the first spritz! Of course it does......I may have to file bankruptcy. OY!

I wear this all year round day only. Very soft notes of sweet, powdery, fruity and a hint of musk. I purchase this in 2012 and use it on special occasions, because it is very expensive.

Gucci Rush with perhaps more refined ingredients? maybe a bit softer too. I LOVE Gucci Rush! unless you're a die-hard loyalist of this house, save your money and get Rush.

Don't understand the negative comments about this one this is so good creamy fruity fragrance very addictive

This smells more like a man's fragrance to me. It's not overly manly, but I don't think I could ever like this even in the winter months. I am in love with Clive Christian No. 1, figures, given the hefty price tag. I have the FB of this if anyone is interested. I think the few notes that skank on me are the musk and vetiver. I haven't worn this out of the house yet, but I will one day and see how many compliments I get, if any. I read everywhere that ladies are loving this. Yet, on me, pure skank.

Today I received a sample of this and as soon as I put it on it reminded me of something I had worn 15 years ago - Rush. It has a unique dark and oriental smell - reminds me of orange and ripe banana. It's more suitable for cool weather, imo. It's nice but I think it might get on my nerves after awhile. And I really don't get how this perfume can be so expensive. I mean, it smells exactly like Rush so you might as well save your money and buy Rush.

X by Clive Christian I expected this to resemble Mitsouko’s classic blend of peach and chypre, but instead, it opens with a juicy peach note balanced by fresh chypre tones. The base has a richness reminiscent of Gucci Rush, though less synthetic—earthy, musky, and deep. Overall, it’s a distinctly feminine scent.

This perfume is nicest after 30 minutes. Its strong complicated opening. After about a half hour it smells luxurious mix of patchouli, deep flowers and complex fruit but not gourmand in any way. a deep parfum. Very much for evening. Very strong only a spray or two.

It smells just like Gucci Rush to me. I really don't get how this scent is supposed to be sexy or have an aphrodisiac in it. I don't really like the smell that much and my husband hated it. Most definitely not worth what it costs.

Gucci Rush did it first (and better)! P.S. - Get yourself some Gucci Rush.

This is absolutely not comparable to Gucci Rush, it has nothing to do with it! And how did they come up with the idea that this is a spring/summer fragrance? This is an exceptionally heavy scent where you can smell the patchouli very strongly, it resembles a mix between a heavy Sisley and Chanel fragrance. So you shouldn't expect this to be a sweet, romantic scent. It does smell expensive, but not everything that is expensive smells good.

This smells very sophisticated but dated. Definitely not an everyday or everywhere fragrance. Muted fruit but chypre. Longevity is amazing and Sillage is good. I personally wouldn’t spend the money on this because it’s something I wouldn’t reach for often.

smells like a typical perfume thats for an older lady. above 45. does smell expensive though. clive christian makes beautiful scents, splurge on a different clive christian scent if ure much younger like me.

Very disappointed... In very short words, it smells like new money mixed with burnt candle.

Awfully rich smell, both literally and figuratively.

On first spray, this really does have a hairspray-like chemical tinge to it. It kind of itches on my skin and, as I sniff it, my nose begins to stuff up. Guess this is a sign it isn't really for me, huh? Haha... Anyway, after the initial hairspray rush, the top notes I get are sweet pineapple, vanilla, and patchouli in the background. After a few minutes the flowers come in. I think I can recognize some rose and jasmine, but, I admit, I'm not too good at separating the scents of flowers. Aaaand... there's something really cloying in the background for me. It sinks into my nose and I feel as if I can't smell. Ok... I'm afraid I'm gonna have to cut this review short to wash it off. I think I may be allergic.

I deeply sigh - it seems that I cannot get on with Clive Christian's perfumes :(( This is the second I have tried and it goes no-where on me! It opens with a blast that is not dissimilar to cucumber and it just goes no where on my wrist from this point! After reading the reviews here I was waiting for something magical to happen - but alas it didn't! It disappeared fairly fast as well - I had nothing to compare it with at all....!!! I think this maybe my chemistry rather than I have been given a duff bottle! It's a shame because I was genuinely hoping for better things and uniqueness on my skin! Oh well, c'est la vie!

I have been patiently waiting until the day I could sample a Clive Christian fragrance. That day has finally come...and I am utterly disappointed. This scent is, as lindaberlin stated, a plug in. I have smelled better compositions by Glade and even Axe, but this will set you back 100 times more than any of those. All I get is some fake peaches, fake LOTV, and laundry detergent. I am sorry to those of you who think this is truly magnificent, but I challenge you to go out and try more fragrances because there are hundreds upon hundreds that are infinitely better and deserve your time and money.

I was so excited to try this one. Large price tag even for a small decant. The first spritz, the first sniff : disgusting, smelled just like cheap hairspray on me and became worse when all these horrible flowers kicked in. Then the odour reminded me of rotting flowers with that sickly musty-sweet vapour of decay. Sorry but this big disappointment will never touch my skin again (and hopefully neither my nostrils). Now, please don ́t get me wrong. I am a chypre wearer and used to strange stuff. I love Aromatics Elixir (which many people hate) but I cannot bear "X".

Maybe it is expensive, sophisticated, etc. But for me it is a bit too "grown-up", boring and smelling like an air freshener. I get how it is a signature scent for some. I get the peach which I was very much looking forward to, but it is different from my expectations. It is way more old fashioned /spicy leaning. It truly is fruity, woody and powdery at the same time. Almost has a lipstick scent to it. This perfume is not for me, but might be perfect for somebody else.

X for Women smells like money. New money. Uncharming, brash, uncultured, and tacky. Like Paris Hilton, or any entitled princess daughter of a god-awful multi-billionaire. To be fair, X is quite fruity-zesty for the first minutes. But it quickly turns into a stuffy potpourri-patchouli bomb and it never evolves from there. It has impressive staying power, though, so if you're lucky enough to love X, rejoice in the fact that it is everlasting.

Makes a statement without saying a word.Intoxicating,spicy,brash,and unforgiving.I prefer a more subtle seduction.I only wore this once to a cocktail party,a woman followed me to the lobby,to ask what I was wearing?After hearing Clive Christians X,she commented to her friend,(That`s the fragrance that whore wore who stole my husband!)Needless to say,I never wore it again.

Ok, don't start throwing darts at me, but my first impression of this is scented candle scent or one of those plug in air scents. I smell pineapple and rububarb. After several hours, I do get a bit spicy smoky scent, then its gone. Personally, I wouldn't give $5 for this fragrance, much less what it actually costs.

I rated this as a dislike because it smells almost identical to Coco Mademoiselle to my nose. It has the same fruity/rose chypre scent and is not worth the hefty price tag imo. I prefer Clive Christian's 1872 to this for something more distinct and longer lasting.

To me this smells gourmandy Too sweet, but I can see this working for a twenties (early) professional. That's it. Smells professional. Not for me. Navy or black suit set type. ...Peace...

Fruity floral opening, nothing groundbreaking,but the base really bothers me, there is a really nauseating note ,that i cant stand

Musk,musk, musk! Unbearable musk! The opening smells like an old woman's clothes that has been stored for 50 years. If you can get past the opening, you can smell some Peach wrapped in deer MUSK. This is completely unbearable.
