This is probably my favorite fragrance I’ve worn. I fully agree with Aweso10 about the notes progression. It opens with all the herbaceous and aromatic elements and truly feels like you are in a grassy meadow of sorts. The herbs blend perfectly in this section with the thyme and peppermint being what I personally notice and it is great. The transition to the heart is my favorite, it has a slight juiciness of the pear and black currant along with some of the golden nectary scent of the gorse, all blending perfectly with the herbs from the top. Then as it enters the base it gets warmer with the wool and sandalwood. It is still amazing but my personal favorite section is the transition from the top to the middle notes. This fragrance evolves like the seasons, opening like spring with the herbs, going into summer with the fruit and gorse, fall with the woods, and winter with the woody and wool notes. I’ve never smelled anything like it. This is by far my favorite fragrance I’ve ever worn at the time of this review, especially since I love spring scents and I feel that it perfectly embodies a spring day. The only critique I have of it is that it does not have the best longevity or sillabe. It is slightly underwhelming in that aspect. But the scent is so good I can overlook it. I completely recommend to try this out. I have not regretted it in the slightest.

I bought Báinín during my recent trip to Ireland and have been in love ever since! It is a cozy, honeyed wildflower/green scent- starts off with a surprisingly soft, stemmy neroli and citrus. The aromatics such as sage and thyme come out in the top as well. After the fragrance softens on my skin, I get more of the sweet, nectary notes such as the gorse/broom, pear and blackcurrant. Then, the warm and cozy notes of wool and musk develop, which is probably my favorite aspect of the fragrance. It's simultaneously fresh and comforting- like traipsing through the Irish countryside on a summer day. Sooo well blended and super unisex, my bf wanted to wear it too!

I love this scent, it's different to a lot of other scents and goes through a such an interesting dry down journey. It starts super fresh and green to me, as it continue to linger on my skin there's a depth and richness to the scent that makes it feel full bodied. For me it feels wearable all year round and either day or night. The mix is so well done and has so many unique components that I feel it is very versatile to wear. Love this one!

Beautiful mix of fresh and warm notes. Has a light summery vibe and is quite sweet, but not cloying. The wool note is what makes this fragrance quite unusual and different to my nose. Add something soft and dreamy and warm to the fragrance that makes it feel very cozy like a freshly washed jumper... in the best possible way.

Fresh and earthy opening with a cosy and warm base. Although it may sound boring, it is done in a nice and creative way. Probably the wool note in particular makes it super cosy and relaxing. This would probably be my next purchase. 4/4/25 edit: I tried it again this evening. The fresh opening is very unique. I can't tell what exactly the notes are but it's not herbaceous/green nor citrusy. It's very well blended and sophisticated. When you sniff it, you smell of freshness, coolness and earthiness at the same time. You are on a hill in Spring. It's neither sunny nor cloudy. It's still chilly so you get the coolness when you breath. You smell the freshness of the grass and the earthiness of the soil. There are some wildflowers growing and blooming. That's what the opening smells like. After around 10-15 minutes, it develops into a warmer scent. You probably feel cold sitting on the hill so you take out a wool blanket and wrap it around yourself. Then you find the wildflower so lovely so you pick one and put it under your nose albeit you can't name the flower. That's what I get at this stage.

To add to my previous review I am finding myself drawn to this scent more and more because it’s just so DIFFERENT and in a world of novelty and furious marketing this kind of different is very welcome. For what it’s worth the name is going to become annoying because as soon as someone says ‘what’s your perfume?’ I shall be forever spelling it. And it’s difficult to remember which from a marketing point of view isn’t good. Lune Givre was renamed Frosted Moon so maybe one day this will be renamed by its translation - Little White which is still a beautiful name but much easier than the lovely Irish one! To add to this I’ve decided to buy it. What really influenced me is that not only has it drawn lovely comments but almost all those compliments have included the terms ‘different’, ‘unlike anything else’ and ‘so warm and soft’. I think those are the reviews you most need on here because they’re accurate and they’re what convinced me to buy. Smelling different today is very difficult without getting a beast mode fragrance, to be different with something soft and warm is nigh on impossible. Until now.

This felt to me like a close relative of Gorse by Laboratory Perfumes. So much so that I’m more inclined to label it as a citrus gourmand as Fragrantica has on its listing, rather than a Chypre as they have done here. Astonishing staying power for such a soft and warm scent - I put it on at 10am and 12 hours later, after a shower, it is still wafting up from my neck. This is quality stuff - very well blended indeed. I smell hay, honey and, most definitely, gorse but I can’t say I love it on me - maybe just a bit too vegetal but that does not take away from the fact that this is an exquisite scent and will be much loved by many. I have a sample from Les Senteurs in London and would recommend trying it from there if you’re in the UK because if you’re drawn to soft and warm fragrances you’re going to love this...

This fragrance to my nose is very unique. It evokes for me the feeling of an Irish summers day in Ireland, dingle co Kerry. Walking down the slip road to Dùn Síon beach past the gorse bushes, ferns and salted air, carrying an Aran wool jumper to wrap around you after a cold dip in the sea. It’s comforting and warm and yet fresh at the same time. It has wonderful longevity on my skin and yet it’s a fragrance you could definitely wear to the office or something where you need a light fragrance as it’s subtle.

Like you’re hanging out washing with a summery washing powder, under long green grass.
