Lá Bealtaine

My wife's signature scent. This was one of her gifts for our 4th wedding anniversary, since that milestone is traditionally marked with a "floral" gift, and she hasn't looked back ever since. This is a fresh, slightly green floral that doesn't blast off of the skin but radiates softly and persistently within her own personal bubble. The longevity is excellent despite the scent's subtlety, which is a big asset in her view. Certain more assertive floral perfumes can have the effect of choking out those around you, but this has the opposite effect-- I find I can almost breathe better in the presence of this scent. The blend here is just superb, and there's nothing that feels at all synthetic about it. It's natural, effortless, and appropriate for all occasions. And at this point it smells like home, so yeah-- can't say enough good things about it. 5 star fragrance for sure.

For some reason this is how I dream Jean Naté fragrance must have smelled like in 1935, bracing citrus, shimmering floral, gossamer texture, beautiful olfactory form...something healing, balancing, and delicious all at the same time...I have decided to be an historian of perfumes, an historian and a collector. I love seeing themes repeated and finding links between now and the past, something timeless and trans-historical.

The closest I can come in "feel" is Nina Ricci's "Nina" from 1987, a beautiful, ethereal perfume. That one was slightly more waxy and 'glassy' or 'glass/crystal like' whereas this one is organic, fluid and languid, a full-blown intake of the freshest air in a gorgeous meadow filled with wildflowers in the bright sun.

Lovely scent. Reminds me of early summer. I find the scent lasts almost the full working day and I can still smell it on my scarf/jacket days later. The presentation is also beautiful. I love it!

A very pretty spring/summer scent. I bought it because I couldn't stop sniffing my arm after trying it. Would probably make a very good wedding scent. The only downside is that although I've had it barely a year, and kept it carefully away from light and heat,when I tried it today I found the top notes are already smelling 'off'. This is disappointing in a perfume of this price.

This is stunning yet also subtle. It’s had wonderful longevity. The word ethereal comes to mind when I try to describe the feeling I have when I wear this. I had to look it up to ensure the definition was accurate to the experience. The feeling of the scent is that it is extremely delicate and light in a way that seems not to be of this world.

Beautiful but not for me. Leans very masculine to my nose - quite an after-shave scent. I find this more dense than other perfumes by this company and perhaps that’s what is very appealing to some people as it certainly lasts and projects well.
