Coach Dreams Moonlight

I just bought a little mini of this at Ross for $9 and it has low-key blown me away! These are very much first impressions but CD Moonlight strikes me as quite a unique scent; I've never smelled quite the same combo of jasmine + patchouli -- two notes I love -- like in this one. In trying to orient myself to this -- and I guess I date myself with these two scents! -- it smells to me like the original 2011 Jimmy Choo -- a super sweet, patchouli scent -- has procreated with Mugler's Alien (1992 -- or Zara dupe Splendid Bronze). In Moonlight, I get the earthiness of the patchouli with the almost minty-sweet, fresh, heady jasmine. There's also tonka note here that shows up as an overall, underlying warmth. Ultimately, I like this so much that I immediately jumped on Mercari and bought an inexpensive mostly full bottle of this stuff. This stuff is REALLY good!!! Incidentally, once I tried a sample of V&R Good Fortune and, while I liked it, it was somehow lacking in something, but I can't remember what... I'll have to try it again to compare. And, I DID really like Flowerbomb Nectar (I think it's being discontinued...?) when I smelled it at a perfume counter, but just couldn't allow myself to get attached to a perfume that's on its way out that I'd have to chase down for big bucks... ------------------------------------------------- Edit: After wearing a few times, I realized that Dreams Moonlight also reminds me of Fine'ry Midnight Cafe (a dupe of YSL Black Opium) except that in Midnight Cafe/Black Opium get the earthiness from the coffee note instead of the patchouli like in Moonlight. But they are definitely similar scents in that they're a heady, sweet jasmine combined with an earthy note (patch or coffee). I'm fond of all of these!

I really like this one. I started with a dabber for $8.99 at Marshalls in July, and when I finished it I got a full bottle 3oz tester from fragrancenet (October). It sprays from the floral lid which is kind of cute. The bottle is dull to me. I was swayed by the review that says patchouli and tonka bomb. I love those two notes. I get the sweetness but it is in no way overly sweet. A little linear in that it does not evolve from the opening. Unique to my stash due to the patchouli - bergamot combo. Makes it distinctive as a floral. I get the jasmine, maybe not the rose listed here.

So sexy and addictive. The dry down is amazing. Reminds me so much of Alien by Mugler, but with some quick citrus at the top and a creamy, powdery dry down. Has a darkness to it that kind of reminds me of Twilight vampires. I’m surprised it’s not more reviewed because it’s a special scent. I did about 16 sprays on my Jacket a week and a half ago and I can still smell it on the jacket. Great performance with moderate projection once it’s settled.

Love at first sniff. It is so dreamy and gentle as if moonlight indeed. I feel a ghost of wild strawberries. A berry top not bergamot. And it is sweet. Very sweet but cute not overwhelming. Sheer. Must be how jasmine is blended with tonka beans. But I would never guess the ingredients. So modern and pleasant. I already placed my order at a retailer. It reminds me of Moonlight by Ariana Grande but better and more expensive smelling.

This one has QUICKLY become a major favorite of mine, but I’m also a big fan of V&R Good Fortune (which is super similar to this one, in my nose’s opinion). Coach Moonlight is significantly softer/less harsh than Good Fortune. The fragrance notes blend together so so beautifully. I don’t feel like any one scent overly tries to steal the show. This is a top five favorite for sure

This was another blind buy that I don't regret. I'm generally one who wears bolder scents, but times when I want to unwind and relax, this is one of my go to perfumes. It's not bold or overpowering. I love how each note unfolds. Whenever I wear this to bed, it's still on my shirt and sheets the next morning so the longevity is there. The strength isn't and I'm fine with it.

honestly, this scent is so captivating and alluring, i didn't even expect it. for me it lasts for 8+ hours and i still feel it on my skin. as a gourmand lover i absolutely loved this one, it's sweet but not too much. i'm not really good at detecting different perfume notes, but i would say it smells delicious 💯

I got a mini from an Ulta sample gift. This smells amazing! As a patchouli hater this doesn't smell like a typical patchouli at all, this smells so beautiful and lasts a good amount of time. Update: I put some on at 2pm yesterday, and can still smell it on my skin and clothes at 7am

This is the best Coach Dreams fragrance. Such a beautiful, purple scent. If purple were a smell, it would be this. Longevity and sillage are incredible...You can smell it on clothes days after using it. This is a date, night kind of scent. Very sexy, very powerful, and very purple.

To my nose, it's soft, sweet violets. 🤔 Idk how, but that's what I'm getting and I absolutely love it! ❤️ I've only been wearing it for an hour so I don't know if it'll change. In the meantime, I'm enjoying so much that I'm taking it from my cart to my house. 🙂😊

Smells sweet, and perfume-y in the sense that I can’t really distinguish the notes. I don’t really get any of the florals and the bergamot in the opening. Interestingly though it smells fruity to me, like grape or grape candy and I wonder why since there aren’t really any fruity notes listed. It reminds me of Flowerbomb a bit but this goes a bit easier on the patchouli thankfully. I would rather wear this than Flowerbomb. So not revolutionary but pretty good fragrance, longevity is also no bad, it’s my scent of the day today because I’m testing a sample and I applied it like 4 hours ago and I’m still catching whiffs of it. Edit: kept going back to smell it and I like it much more than initially. Surprisingly it's also very strong. I might have to get a bottle after all, maybe when I find it on sale

Oooh yes! I'm thrilled when bottles match how the perfume smells in my mind's eye, and this does. This is a soft, hazey fragrance. Kind out out-of-focus, but in a dreamy way. As it opens, it isn't yet, because that bergamot (or whatever fruit) is punchy. Actually, just a little bitter too...slightly. It was weird, and I didn't know what I was smelling specifically. It settles into a cozy tonka+vanilla rose (I don't smell patchouli in here, if there is some, it's softened considerably). There's a white, clean laundry musk as well. This laundry musk+vanillic, plushy drydown thing is absolutely a Gen-Z style of perfume, and I, a Millennial, quite enjoy it. This begs to be worn in evening, and again, is congruent with the name and title. 🌙 🌃

My mum gave me her bottle to try. At first it was really sweet especially in warm weather. The bergamot citrusy note tries to save it a bit though it probably has a better effect in cooler weather. I love rose and jasmine however I found the sweetness of the tonka bean and patchouli sadly overwhelmed the florals. Very cloying in hot weather especially during the daytime. I might give it another go at night. I love the name and the bottle is cute but at the moment all I'm getting is sweetness overload. Never really been a fan of all the fruit-chouli scents. At least it smells really strong if you do love this type of fragrance. I personally prefer lighter florals or something darker with more incense patchouli vibes.

Something about this just makes me happy. The tonka bean in this is so lovely; just envelops the whole fragrance in a sweet cloud that carries the other notes effortlessly. This could work for any season; the warm sweetness and slight spiciness of the tonka says winter, but the sweet jasmine punch makes me love this as a spring scent. I'll have to wear it when winter comes back around and see how I feel, but so far, this has been a nice addition to my collection. I can't see this offending any noses. Only reason it's not a LOVE is down to personal tastes; i don't find myself reaching for it. It doesn't stand out like other fragrances i have and LOVE. So this is a safe like.

Was able to get my hands on this early and it smells really good! Smells just like Mugler Aura if it weren't as overpowering because Aura can be a bit nauseating when smelling for too long, however the Coach Moonlight is just as intoxicating! The floral middle notes reminding me a lot of Gucci Guilty EDP so I'm sure there's some Lilac in there somewhere but it has no heavy floral notes just very mellow florals in use here, very soothing. Overall Coach Dreams Moonlight is just as great as sunset and the original dreams and I would recommend going and checking it out if you think you'd like a Soothing Floral Medicinal smelling fragrance!

I did one little spray on my arm to test it on my actual skin before deciding if I was keeping or gifting it. My husband proceeds to yell from across the kitchen and living room "DID YOU SPRAY SOMETHING?!" So this stuff is super strong. I like that in a perfume, but it may be a LOT for some if you have a small living space. I actually really like this scent though. Usually anything with patchouli listed is an immediate no for me as I hate the scent and it's always the strongest one. For this perfume though I can't smell the patchouli at all. I'm still going to wait the full day to see how it wears on my skin specifically.

Despite the notes, I really get a sister vibe of XS by Paco Rabanne. This gives a sweet & salty Ritz cracker, maybe a touch more sweeter than XS but not by much. Really interesting and weird that I find them so similar. I was very confused at what I was testing when I first smelled it and was on the fence but after a couple of tries I did manage to score a second hand bottle full bottle. I haven’t found what to layer it with, but on its own it’s a great fragrance. Very different from the sweet florals from the rest of the line and I love every single one of them. Coach is a wonderful consistent winner in my books

This is so cute!! It opens up bright and citrusy but I would bet there are other fruits in here, I get a little bit of a cherry or berry kind of smell too. The florals are very powdery and soft, it does remind me of violets too! It has a sweetness and warm from tonka beans but also it feels clean, I think there is a bit of clean musk in it too. The overall experience reminds me a little bit of Lolita Lempicka Le Parfum 2023. Obviously this one doesn't have liquorice but wears similarly. I don't know if I want a full bottle of this or not yet but I like it a lot. To me it's not similar to sunset flanker at all.

Tried this and now I lowkey wanna buy it >.< but I’m also super curious about Good Fortune by Viktor&Rolf since everyone says they smell kinda similar, and honestly, that bottle is sooo pretty so I gotta try it! It’s definitely patchouli-heavy, so keep that in mind. Personally, I love it, so no complaints here, It’s such a pretty purple scent: very whimsical, mysterious, dreamy, a little spicy but still sweet. Also saw a review that cracked me up: “Obnoxious clingy art teacher vibes, did not like the harsh smell.” lmaoo like... I get it, but I love it?? As an artist, that vibe actually speaks to me (oops)

She's strong! Powedery vanilla sweetness. I don't get any patchouli- and I love patchouli. I blind bought this after falling in love with Coach Dreams Sunset. It's really lovely and sweet, so far not intoxicating like Sunset. I think it's very inoffensive and would be a safe buy for anyone that looks for a powerdery vanilla scent. With the scent mixture I get a lactonic feel to it- milky and rich. She's sweet without being too sharp. It's a like, not a love- but maybe I'll fall in love with it in the spring season.

I normally don't like patchouli but this one is not bad except I don't like the smell it leaves on the clothes, it just leaves the patchouli without the aspects that make this one likable, but it's no biggie if you don't spray it on something you don't wash often like jackets. As the summer approaches I have started hating all of my patchouli fragrances and this one I still tolerate so I'm gonna put it in the back of the shelf bc I don't want to jinx it and start hating it lol

This lasted all day on me even working a 8 hour shift at a coffee shop I can literally still smell it. I don’t typically like citrus scents that much but this one smells like grape candy like some of the other reviews are saying, which personally I enjoy. It’s a good every day fragrance, I wouldn’t wear it every day just because I feel like it’s not very me but every once in a while sure. If you want a strong, long lasting fruity floral you should try this.

I really loved this perfume on the paper as it was just what I'm looking for in a perfume (sweet, playful and bonus points for the Tonka bean note) but unfortunately when I did a skin test, the patchouli just completely overwhelmed all the other notes and left it smelling like a typical sweet-floral-patchouli scent which is just too much for my nose. I was so close to loving it and maybe I'll love just smelling it on others :(

Powdery, sweet and sour all at once. If that sounds weird to you, it is. It's different from all the other designer fragrances that I can't really tell apart, and I can imagine that if you like it, you'll love it. But to me it's a bit of a perfum-y mess. The powdery patchouli drydown is reminiscent of the peppery patchouli in YSL Elle, although they're not that similar otherwise.

This is a safe-blind buy. Musky - Patchouli - Undistinguishable floral. Sweet and girly. But also generic. I wish the jasmine, rose, and citrus were more distinguishable. If you are new to the perfume world, and just want a girly sweet perfume this is a good buy. But I feel like this just smells like a teen perfume and is not unique, disappointing from the brand coach.

On a paper test, I first get like a sweet, fruity floral. I think I get the patchouli as a background note but on paper at least it's not the star (thank goodness). I don't get bergamot at all. I'm excited and nervous to try this on my skin (patchouli tends to present strong on my skin). As it stands, I like this.

Super intense and super perfume-y. It’s quite the powerhouse! It’s a very syrup-sweet jasmine and citrus bomb. There is nothing unique about the make-up of this, but that doesn’t make it any less enjoyable. There’s also a pleasant, fluffy vanilla in the base of this which I’m guessing is the tonka bean.

First notes: natural grape juice. Interesting twist for modern tuberouse perfumes. You can smell it sour-sweet taste for first 15 minutes. After that the scent becomes more soft and vanilla notes appears. Easy going as all Coach perfumes, but I have too many tuberouses on my shelf already 😅

A less cloying version of Kate spade sparkle. Young, sweet DNA. Long lasting, generic, and pleasant. I don’t dislike it, I just want something with a little more oomph for today’s designer prices.

It's SO strong. The tester strip sits on the other side of the room and I can smell it. It's been hours. It smells very grapey. I like it. But go easy. It smells like grape candy.

inoffensive patchouli & something else you won't distinguish, light and forgettable

Opens with sweetness, bergamot, and jasmine. I get the warm, radiant jasmine that almost leans dryer sheet to me. I could have sworn I smelled a berry note for a little bit, that’s how sweet it went. I almost think the tonka is going cherry/almond. There’s a powdery feel that I and many others it seems get that can’t be explained by other notes. I don’t smell rose. In the drydown, I’m getting that classic tonka patchouli combo that is so common in perfumery. This significantly changes the fragrance from sweet floral to a biting, scratchy combo. I do enjoy this in some fragrances like in Prada Paradoxe Intense. However, here it feels disjointed from the rest of the fragrance. The development of the fragrance did not build to this reveal, instead it simply emerged and changed the fragrance to an entirely new one. I could see this on a high school or even middle school aged girl. I loved more mature scents at that age both to be different and because I genuinely loved them. So if you’re like me and skipped the teen scent phase, you may enjoy as an adult. This matches the prom-like imagery used in the ads.

the opening of this fragrance is amazing! fruity! sweet! , HOWEVER, the dry down on my skin is just not it. it smells weird to me, idk how to describe it. idk what it is, but it does not work with my skin. in the air, it smells great, but on me; it is a no! will probably gift it.

Wish the last notes were the first and last.... First notes are too sweet-smelling, quite common for today's perfumes. However, after a while, the last notes smell almost like incense, leaving a kind of mysterious scent behind.

woah, this is REALLY sweet, this is not what I was expecting :( i'm disappointed. i was expecting something completely different. all i can smell is the tonkabean :/ the smell also doesn't really change, it's really linear.

It just feels super basic, all I can smell on my skin is foral. Not sure why, but a little disappointed. Not something id gravitate towards but something I might buy as a gift for someone. It works but its kind of whatever

This one has way too much patchouli for me. It was a blind buy for me because I liked the other coach drama fragrances and it was on sale so I ordered it. Definitely not a safe blind buy IMO

Makes me sick , I actually threw up from this perfume, and my stomach burns when I spray it. There’s something in it that I just can’t tolerate

Fragrance just came in at the retailer I work at and the unanimous agreement is that it’s surprisingly mature smelling for the coach dreams lineup of fragrances. Extremely synthetic and headache inducing Lacks the almost creamy nature of dreams sunset which in my opinion makes coach dreams sunset great. There is a heart of original coach dreams within this fragrance. But some nondescript note or collection of notes just make the fragrance smell incredible synthetic and harsh. “Modern floral notes” doesn’t mean anything and what qualifies a floral note as “modern”. When I think of modern I think of youthful exuberance. Fragrances like Vince Camuto’s new wonderbloom or Versace’s Dylan lineup exemplify “modern floral notes” to me. Something succulent and refreshing. Coach dreams moonlight is the total opposite to me. Dry, harsh, and off putting. Definitely better options available on the market. This is a swing and a miss from coach.

Disappointingly indistinct and muddy. It smells like perfume, generically. I don't get a clear picture of any of the notes. I'm used to not being able to smell bergamot; it's in seemingly everything and nothing at the same time. I would, however, expect to smell the jasmine, the tonka, the rose, the patchouli, for crying out loud. It's all just a musky, confused mess. Basic and quite unimpressive. 3/10.

I feel like this scent is way too intense for me although I usually like strong scents. The scent fills the entire room and I just can't bring myself to like this one, although the notes made it seem like I would like it. Sadly the intensity made my head hurt and I will be giving this one away.

This fragrance is so strange and off that I honestly questioned my sanity after trying it. I can smell the Tonka bean. It's in there. But it's smothered under a thick layer of old house paint... The wet paint smell wasn't noticeable at first, then it started faintly and got stronger. Then it seemed to stick to everything, so cudos for longevity? Maybe I'll come back to it and see if it's calmed down, but for now, I don't like it at all. Or it just doesn't like me. It's too chemically.

First off, the bottle is very beautiful. I tried this maybe 18 months - 2 years ago at an upscale department store. I was captivated but decided to wait for Moonlight to be available at a more reasonable price. I bought it today and I'm glad that I opted for the smallest bottle (something I hardly ever do, most perfumes offer better value in the largest size). This fragrance is not as I remembered but it is fresh and genuine. I agree with the reviewer who said that the patchouli swallows the other notes. It's a nice, mellow patch so no complaints there. Moonlight is nice enough but hasn't got the wow factor, it's as though the note structure is incomplete. I'm thinking that it might sit better on clothing. At this point, perhaps it's useful as a layering fragrance with something else that has more oomph. By itself it reminds me of a Bath and Bodyworks spray. Disappointing but unlikely to cause offence in a work setting. Not bad but definitely not a banger either.....

#firstimpressions So, I finally got the chance to try this hyped fragrance. I must say the name justifies the smell. It actually creates an ambiance of dreamy romantic outdoor date under the moonlight. Its seductive and mind capturing aura makes me want to sniff it more and more. The opening is kind of fresh citrus-y bergamot. But almost instantly the tonka bean starts to give sweet vanilla-ish vibe and the patchouli helps to make it more elegant than overpowering. And the romantic blend of Jasmines and Roses gives it a beautiful floral bouquet vibe. Overall to my nose this is an intoxicating and exquisite fragrance. After reading and watching reviews over the internet I was skeptical about this fragrance. But as I always say we should try a fragrance by ourselves first before judging it. So, be your own judge and spend your money wisely 💜

I ordered this fragrance on Amazon last week, and just received it in the mail this morning. First of all, I think the bottle is absolutely beautiful - Coach always delivers with their bottles. I just sprayed it on my arm about thirty minutes ago, and I have to say.....This reminds me a lot of Angel Nova. Even the first spray felt instantly familiar. The tonka base is definitely what I pick up the most the longer I wear it, as I'm having a hard time trying to detect any specific floral. I don't find the tonka base as warm as I do in the previous flanker, Dreams Sunset. I'm going to need more time with this one. This is definitely a Fragrance that I can see myself enjoying quite a bit - I think I'm just slightly....disappointed perhaps?

No clue what the notes are trying to reflect - this really smells like iris / lavender / pear top notes instead of bergamot (with the bergamot being more of a hinting underbody?). Jasmine is weak and shy in an endearing way. Really gives a late night smell that you'd expect to find in bed, in your lover's hair. Patchouli is weak, almost sweet, and not warm at all - good for people who dislike the note but still want an introduction to it. Sniffing it too much makes my head spin but it's all nice and good.

Judging by the notes, Coach seems to be following the fragrance trend Mancera started and Delina Exclusif embodies... adding that warm vanilla amber to a sunny, bright floral base. It’s tricky to strike a balance between citrus and sweet especially in a flanker. The original Dreams is beautiful and long lasting, I hope very much that they keep that original charm. Excited to try this, if they pull it off it can be beautiful.
