Coach for Men Pure Platinum

This opens with a very bright lavender, mandarin and apple combo with the lavender being the main star of the show throughout the life of the fragrance. Not fruity from the mandarin and apple, more so just adding a bit of freshness and sweet touch. Off my skin I get just a slight kiss from the rum, a touch of earthiness from the moss and a nice white floral aspect from the orange blossom giving the fragrance some lift in the mid. Once this hits the drydown you get a beautiful leathery, amber undertone from the labdanum and a hint of woods from the cedar. The labdanum adds a nice bit of depth and helps round out the fragrance and brings a welcomed masculinity to it that's rather intoxicating. There is ambroxan but just to give this thing some push which helps with the sillage, longevity and overall performance. Now in terms of performance, off my skin, I get a solid hour or so of projection before it starts come a little closer into a nice scent bubble that lasts for about 6 hours before becoming more of a skin scent. I did lose the scent for a while before it started to come back and I could pick it up again around 8 hours so anosmia from the ambroxan can give the perception of weakness but trust me it's there. Sprayed it on at 6:30am, went to the gym at 7pm and when I started sweating the fragrance came back to life and could pick it up again. So take that at face value but that's a good 12+ hours. All in all I'd say this is a great anytime wear, very versatile, office safe, can be dressed up or down. Maybe geared more towards spring, summer and early fall, but wear what you want whenever you want. I think it takes a slight edge over the original Coach for men as the best in the line. Definitely recommend. 8.5/10.

I need to preference by saying Coach Platinum EDP is Coach's best fragrance to my nose, so I was subconsciously judging Pure Platinum Parfum based on that standard. This one opens with apple and heavy lavender with a little bit of orange citrus before moving into a creamy rum absolute note with a bit of soapy orange blossom. The base is heavy on ambroxan and cedarwood. I do get a bit of a metallic vibe in the finish, but this just isn't as interesting as the original Platinum because this feels more like it leans more into YSL MYSLF L'Absolu dna than Coach Platinum dna (which was more unique blue scent); I am also reminded of Polo 67 EDP during the dry down. I rate both L'Absolu and 67 EDP as loves, so I do love this, but man it could have been something special. It's still a very enjoyable fragrance and in time I believe I'll love it for what it is rather than what I wish it were, but Platinum EDP is superior and should never have been discontinued.

this Frag maybe a great 1of1, i cannot seem to catch anything in mind that this may smell like, its sweet, boozy, with a tad bit of lavender. i love it and it may had stopped my colonge shopping for a min, i do want dior extrait but that will come in due time because my collection has expanded dramatically from just having 5 a few months ago. but out of all i will treat this with a little more care than the other coach frags i have. chefs kiss IMO

This is unironically one of the best fragrances I’ve ever smelled. I went to the coach store at the outlet mall and was surprised to see this. I tested it on skin and I instantly bought a bottle. Boozy, masculine, sweet. New signature for the colder months. Note: Layer with cocoa butter Vaseline. 9.7-10

I like this one. Smells mature and elegant. Nice blending opens up with the lavender fruitiness and smooths out a bit, some spiciness from the moss/rum combo and it's just pleasant.

it's too heavy for summer days , for me this is suitable for winter and night out.

Just got this one in the mail today. As soon as i sprayed it i thought "Oh this is nice, but ive smelt this before" had to look up the notes. Boom, labdanum again. Not bad by any means, but this style is already being a little overdone i feel. This one smells very reminiscent of the likes of the new BDC L'Exclusif and Polo Red Xtreme. Is this profile going to be the one of the year?

Testing it today and to me smells like a mix between the original coach platinum and myslf absolu. Just a little denser than both of those and less floral and less fruity. A nice release but the og platinum I like better and myslf absolu better. It does last awhile longer than both of those though.

It’s a good scent but generic. Both this one and For Men EDP are good entry affordable fragrance but if you already have a good collection, will be just another one.

Great scent and easy to wear. Smells similar to Ralph's Club New York and Hugo Boss The Scent EDP Intense to me.

Love the bottle, not the contents. A modern amber aromatic, but not in the traditional sense. This fragrance relies on an abundance of ambroxan. An aroma chemical often substituted for raw materials that make up amber. I was hoping labdanum would bridge the gap, as labdanum is often used in amber compositions. Coach Pure Platinum is a fresh, woody, slightly metallic, fougère like, aromatic with a hint of apple. Coach Pure Platinum is safe and not unique to the market. Dare I say, too clean. We don't always want to smell like this. If you need a dumb reach, this might be for you. Coach Gold Parfum was amazing and actually very unisex. Pure Platinum smells 2 dimensional, as if it's missing layers. Please stop playing it safe when it comes to men. We like vanilla too.

I tried all the mens perfume well most of them from this line and they are all meh. Longevity is 2 - 3 hours then skin scent if that. Scent is ok at best alot better out there so sorry I can not get myself to like this line at all so Hard Pass.

Smells like a generic amalgamation of YSL Myself, Polo 67, Ralphs Club, and Prada Paradigme but doesnt have anything that makes it stick out.

Would be ok if the cheap ambrox didn't dominate- the scorched wet popcorn kind of smell. Don't bother

I can't pin point what this reminds me of. I really don't agree with what people are putting here. I feel like maybe tiny bits of Myslf absolu , Invictus Elixir,RL Club NY, 67. This is masculine ambery musky a little fruity. It is definitely amber forward. The amber is kept slightly airy and not condensed but at times it's a little rubbery . But in the best way. As it develops it gets musky then woody then eventually gets a citrus woody ambery dry down. It does have hints of moss and rum which I really appreciated. The labdanum in this reminds me of a super light easier labdanum in boss bottled elixir. The full dry down to me almost smells like a mix of that and Invictus Elixir. Kind of like a more serious Invictus Elixir that isn't for the club. Performance isn't bad but it drops off fast . You get a solid 4 hours but after that it fades away quickly . 4 to 5 hours is the norm with this. 6 hours of you are lucky but by that time it will be struggling to project even a little . Sillage isn't bad . Little scent trail nothing crazy. The more I wore this the more I liked it. Usually these style fragrances can be too dense for me but they kept this one light for what it is. Due to its scent profile it can also be a stronger deeper ambery fragrance with a few extra sprays . Once this hits discounters and is in the 40-50 range it won't be a bad buy at all. Its not a gym scent or that much of a casual scent but date night or a more serious office scent fits it perfectly. Overall I feel once this goes down in price it may be a purchase for me . As this develops it's ok but the full dry down is not bad at all. 6.5/10

Generic and lacklustre, smells like a cheap Antonio banderas fragrance that costs under £20. What was the point of making it when it adds totally nothing to the existing coach line , let alone the original platinum what is far more stronger and does not need a poor offshoot.Just buy the original platinum while you can get it because some bright Muppet at coach decided to discontinue it at the end of last year.

This juice smells nice, but is incredibly generic, and has horrible longevity. If it is as cheap as the others from the line when it hits discounters this might actually be a good pickup. Until then I'd avoid paying retail as you could do so much better for the price .

You have to hand it to Coach. They are great marketers and magicians. They managed to create a fragrance that smells good. It's mass appealing. It disappears within 20 minutes of applying it. They can do this for $135 for a 100 ML bottle. It is truly amazing.
