Coach Poppy

Sweet, aquatic, floral, ozonic, powdery, citrusy, vanilla, white floral, green, woody, radiant, feminine, sensual, flirty, playful, charming, whimsical, delightful, cheerful, uplifting, alluring, tempting, addictive, inviting, cozy, comforting On me this opens with refreshing cucumber, citrusy mandarin orange, and the softly spicy scent of freesia. As it starts drying down it grows sweeter and more floral with crème brûlée, aquatic water lily, and just a whisper of candied rose petals, sweet gardenia, and lush jasmine. The dry down envelopes you with a slightly more gourmand vibe with sweet and fluffy marshmallows, sensual and powdery vanilla, creamy sandalwood, and a soft scent of sweetly woody Virginia cedar. I got this right around the time that it first launched, and I really loved it! It actually became my signature scent for some years! I still wear it to this day! Around the same time I also got the OG Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy, and to me they’re always reminiscent of each other for that reason as well as both being sweet fruity florals with more complexity than the VS and BBW mists that I wore a lot during that period. I find it kind of funny that one of the reasons Coach Poppy was so intriguing to me, and that I had to have it was because it had a marshmallow note in it. To this day marshmallow is still one of my favorite perfume notes! I wouldn’t exactly call this a marshmallow perfume, but I definitely get the marshmallow note in it The OG Poppy was actually one of my early signature scents. Not only did it make me fall in love with Coach fragrances, but helped start me into a deeper love of fragrances in general. As for my love of Coach perfumes, I also own and love Coach Legacy, Coach Coach, Coach Poppy, Poppy Blossom, Poppy Wild Flower, Coach Love, Coach Dreams Starlight, and Coach Dreams Sunset (I’d love to try the Coach Dreams Moonlight version!). I still have this in the OG formula, and get great performance with it. The longevity is in the stronger side, it lasts 7+ hours on my skin. When I was younger, I bought a bunch of stuff at a garage sale, and the owner was so pleased that I unloaded so much of their unwanted stuff. They ran into their house, came back, and offered me a half full bottle of Coach Poppy. They told me that it wasn't their cup of tea, and asked if I liked fragrances. I gladly accepted and cherished that bottle, which they gave me on the house. Maybe I love this so much because of the memory associated with it, however, it is a really good fragrance. I can't comment on the newer batches, since I only have the older batches. Apparently, there's been some confusion surrounding the re-packaging. Some people will swear up and down that the smooth capped bottle with the pink liquid and plain red box packaging is fake, while others say that it's been re-formulated and re-released. Many swear that it's still discontinued, however, I see many reputable places such as TJ Maxx, FragranceNet, and many others carrying this. FragranceNet has it listed as "new packaging", so I'm guessing that it's been re-released and possibly reformulated. Don't quote me on that, though. I have a few backup bottles of the ones with textured graffiti caps, with older batch codes, and haven't tried the newer ones. To me, this is such an elegant floral gourmand. I know that some people might call it young or basic, but I don't feel that at all. It's light, floral, and sweet. On my skin, it's straight up florals and candy. I know that there are several perfumes that try to do floral and sweet, but in my opinion, this one just gets it right. It lasts quite a long while on me but doesn't project really loudly. I wouldn't say that it's a skin scent on me, since it does create a scent bubble, but it doesn't fill the entire room, either. It's so feminine, so timeless, and seems to be both young and mature at the same time. It's an easy reach for me and used to be my signature scent. I now have 100+ bottles in my collection, and have sampled hundreds of fragrances over the years, but I still love this one. Definitely has a place in my heart. Plus, objectively (nostalgia aside), I think it just smells really good.

Coach Poppy absolutely stole my heart when it was released in 2010! I was 22 and looking for a signature fragrance as I was just starting to get more into fragrances! I smelled it in an advertisement in a magazine and I just HAD to have it! I got it for Christmas and fell hard for it... it immediately became my signature fragrance! To this day I still have it, love it, and wear it! It’s such a pretty, sweet, feminine and flirty fruity floral! The creme brûlée, marshmallow, vanilla, sandalwood, cedar, gardenia, freesia, mandarin orange, and cucumber notes are what stand out to me the most! It’s a somewhat unique mixture of sugary sweet scents, soft white florals, and with a touch of freshness! Very lovely and pleasant! An easy fragrance to reach for, works well throughout all of the seasons, and a great choice for a signature fragrance! I typically get great longevity with fragrances (even body mists!) and Coach Poppy is no exception! It lasts all day on me and I can even still smell it on me the next morning! The silage is really good too! It radiates out about an arm’s length! This beauty will always have a place in my collection as well as in my heart! I still have backup bottles because I don’t ever want to run out of my original signature fragrance! It’s definitely a nostalgic scent for me, but it’s still very beautiful overall! I also just wanted to mention that I’m a big fan of Coach fragrances! Besides Coach Poppy I also own and love Poppy Blossom, Poppy Wildflower, Love (the 2012 version), Legacy, Coach (the Fragrance/Signature), and Coach Dreams Sunset!

Finally reviewing this perfume 5 years after I bought it, I have the limited edition gold bottle which I bought at Macy's for around $100 for the 100ml in fall 2012. I will say I prefer the original Poppy over Poppy flower, and in 2012 my first year of perfume this was one of the first 50 perfumes I bought, also was given a lot of samples in 2012 of Poppy, and Poppy Flower. My Poppy batch code is A72 was made in July 2012 ( checkcosmetics.net ), and is still good, and hasn't turned at all. Poppy is sweet without being " too sweet " that's why I like this perfume. If your nose isn't trained it's really hard to tell what notes you are smelling. What I smell is a marshmallow candy like cucumber mix the most, I also smell the cedar come through as well before dry down, I smell a slight freesia, vanilla and mandarin as well, this perfume was done really well in my opinion. I never really wore this perfume over the years, because as I have got older ( I was 21 when I bought this perfume, 26 now ) sweet perfumes don't really appeal to me anymore, I like fragrances with more depth. Also I think Angel Dream is closer to Coach Poppy than the original Angel by Victoria's Secret. The best time to wear Poppy is in the daytime in Spring, and Summer. Overall I give Poppy a 7/10.

I can't explain which note it is in this perfume, but I haven't gotten it with anything else. Which actually drives me a little crazy because I've searched out fragrances by similar notes and I can't find it! Not that I haven't found some nice fragrances, but there's this one sweet note that's also fruity? Argh, I just can't figure it out! It's what drew me to the fragrance in the first place, it was just so different and amazing than anything else in the tester isle. So I don't know if it's a combination that was just combined really well or what they did but it's amazing. I always go back to it as my favorite, but I tend to use it sparingly so I don't over use it. I tend to think of it as a fruity floral gourmand, because I get ALL of that. I get fruity, I get a hint of floral and I get the crème brulee, which I consider gourmand, maybe not. It works for me and I just love it. My guess would be those who aren't into sweet wouldn't like it that well, plus I tend to like the sweet sweet ones, so it could be too sweet for some. But it's got depth and it's certainly not a boring sweet.

I smelled this at the counter when it first came out and instantly fell in love, but was broke and couldn't wait for the day I could purchase the biggest bottle available. Definitely sweet and floral, a very warm scent, and very sexy and great for nights when I want to feel my most confident. Great for day or night and any time of year. When I got money I immediately went out and bought a set of the 3.4 oz that came with a rollerball. I still have about half the bottle left partly because I forget to wear perfume sometimes and because I wanted to preserve it. It's still my favorite perfume 10 years later. I was very sad to see this was discontinued. I will have to stock up on another 3.4 oz bottle. When it dries down it doesn't smell as good as it does when first applied, but spraying it on clothes helps it retain more of the scent that you first smell. Since the first time I smelled it, it has been such a sexy scent to me. I was with my boyfriend at the time, and he really liked it. I feel so confident when I’m wearing this!

Sweet! Fruity! Floral! Fresh! Oh my, I love the cucumber and sweet notes in this scent so much! I wish I hadn't waited all of these years before testing it. I think this is the prettiest fragrance for spring/summer that I own. There is something about the sweet factor, although not gourmand to me, it does make Coach Poppy memorable. How can something be fresh and sweet at the same time? Well, Coach Poppy is the answer. The longevity with this one isn't great on me, but my skin eats perfumes within an hour or 2 anyway, so longevity is probably better for others. I don't mind respraying though because I'm in love with the scent. It truly is captivating to my nose and I really wish it hadn't been discontinued. I will buy another bottle online just for back up...I like it that much. Oh, and it's work appropriate too, which is important to me.

This is my go-to scent for big deals...dates, first days on the job, going to parties. I get compliments ALL the time from men on this one. Its silage is nice, only a few feet, far enough for a cute guy to smell it and ask what it is you're wearing ;) It smells sweet, kind of citrusy and fruity, but not overwhelmingly so. The candy and marshmallow and vanilla blurbs above are very accurate. I find that I gravitate towards scents that almost ALWAYS have sandalwood in the notes, and I can definitely pick that up in the dry-down. All in all, a great fruity scent, but also one that can be worn by women in their 20s and possibly 30s. I disagree that it does not smell like Viva La Juicy. I own that one, and Viva is very not fruity, and almost exclusively vanilla-y and marshmallow-y.

I definitely did not like this perfume when initially sprayed--I'm not an aquatic or ozonic fan at all. But WOW, after like a minute, this smells like heaven and I'M TOTALLY OBSESSED. I'm not a huge Coach addict, and I'm certainly not into perfumes that are too sweet, nor aquatic (as I've mentioned). But this really is a perfect balance of both that is so addicting it's made someone like me like it. This turns into a sweet floral scent that isn't too sickening or too candy-like because of the cucumber I guess. I mean, I normally hate that crap but honestly, I think it cuts the sweetness enough to make it not gourmand. Does that make sense? This is so perfect for daytime and nighttime, I constantly get compliments when I wear this.

Another blind buy hit for me!! On the first spray I can smell all the top notes, first time smelling a orange flavor cucumber. I love the slow building floral notes that come next that settle down into a sweet/woody scent. I have never smell a perfume before with so many different types of notes that work so well together. The scent is strong at first then mellows down and becomes a very pretty and sexually appealing pleasant scent. You'll only need a couple of light sprays which will last all day long. Cute little pink bottle not like show above, working good in the winter for me!!! I own all the perfumes by Coach and this is my new fav of them!!!

Nabbed this in 3.4 on eBay for $15. I was pretty excited, let’s face it, the bottle is adorable! But the juice? I spritzed myself with it a few times and got an instant blast of sugared florals. Not bad, certainly not offensive, but it’s also hardly there! After 30 minutes I couldn’t even detect it on my wrist. I’ve got no issue with linear, sweet smells. Now, I don’t need every bottle of perfume I own to be a complex masterpiece. But had I paid full retail for this frag I think I would have been super pissed! It’s just watery, not impressive. Doesn’t smell synthetic, but it wears worse than edt. Scent: 7/10 Sillage: 6/10 Longevity: 4/10

The only reason why somebody would put a bad review about this fragrance is because it doesnt go with her skin chemistry, this lovely perfume is the best i have ever smelled, it does not smell like anything else especialy viva la juicy because juicy perfumes are just plain out cotton candy smells. In Poppy the marshmellow gives it that sweet innocent smell to it and blends perfectly with the other notes,i have gotten a compliment from everyone i know that this perfume is seductive (an opinion from my guy friends), all the girls say it smells very lovely and very feminine, good job Coach !!!! This is my signature scent.

I wore this as my signature fragrance for several years as my nose matured. It is very sweet and flowery, but juuust a bit more mature than a celebrity fragrance. I do enjoy the safe sweet young celebrity fragrances sometimes, but this one was a stepping stone for me as I grew from Chantilly as a wee child and Exclamation as a pre teen, and then Clinique Happy as a teen, and then this was my graduating into a more adult fragrance before really jumping into enjoying Gucci Bamboo and Versace Eros. I was surprised with how many notes these perfumes share that show I am attracted to very specific scents.

I borrowed a few squirts from my daughter's bottle this morning, and I am slowly starting to really love it. Initially, I thought it was perfectly nice, but nothing too special. A couple of hours later, and I'm really enjoying how it softly swirls and changes around me...at times more floral, then aquatic, then warm and sweet. Checking the notes, I see marshmallow and cucumber, and now I'm kind of preoccupied with trying to catch and identify both of those notes as the scent wears on. This is not too sweet, not too floral, and not too aquatic - but it's a lovely blend of all three.

There is a reason why this is such a popular scent. My first experience with Poppy was Poppy Flower a few years ago and I have sampled this several times and finally decided to add it to my collection. It's not sharp. It's not daring. It's not seductive. Definitely not dangerous. But it is a very warm, feminine fragrance soft enough to wear every day. Like everyone has mentioned, it is work-appropriate, a safe blind-buy and just a good sweet-smelling fragrance. I just wear it when I want to feel pretty.

I love this scent!! I’ve been using it since i was 15, now 24! I am so sad i cannot find it anywhere, i used to buy it from khols but seems they dont sell it anymore :( I tried the Brittany spears fantasy & prada candy which i really enjoyed and then i discovered this website and cmae to realization that they have similar notes meaning im drawn to a certain smell? Will definitely be using this website to find more fragrances that i could potentially replace coach poppy since its no longer sold :(

I agree with MelissaKS. This is obviously not a unique fragrance, but it smells really good and pretty. I think scents like this are necessary because most days I’m not trying to be a showstopper with my fragrance, I just want to smell good. I feel like this is uplifting and a breath of fresh air from all the other perfume DNAs on the market. Good for every day and all year round. It’s a sweet clean floral fruity scent. Edit: sadly doesn’t last more than 20 mins on me completely dissapears

This is such a happy, sweet scent. Vanilla, citrus, freesia blend really well together with a gentle sweetness that last incredibly long on me. For as light as this is I can't believe it lasts all day long. Throughout the day, this doesn't evolve any too much on me. Initially, it's more sweet, then the freesia and citrus pop a bit. I don't like how they changed the coloring of this to blue/purple though. I liked it better when it was that coral color.

Haven't bought it yet but have smelled it on many occasions, much better than Poppy Flower IMHO. Poppy Flower is nice and I will buy it as well, but it's a little too floral-y for my tastes. I prefer fruitier scents, and this is perfect. EDIT: It's funny, I leave a review and then a few days later I get it for my bday!! My mother really knows me well, and I adore this scent.

I LOVE COACH POPPY!!! THIS IS MY FAVORITE OUT OF THE POPPY LINE. VERY YOUNG, JUICY, FRUITY, FUN, FLIRTY, SWEET, AND GIRLY. SMELLS LIKE ALLLL WOMEN CAN PULL THIS OFF - ALL AGE GROUPS, EVEN THOUGH IT IS A YOUNGER SMELL. IF I'M IN MY 50'S A STILL LOVING IT ... I'LL STILL ROCK THE SHIT OUT OF THEN TOO :) I HOPE TO PURCHASE A FULL SIZE BOTTLE AND LOTION SOON!!!!

Such a pretty, bright, fresh, clean fragrance. I definitely get the mandarin orange and cucumber for sure. It's sweet and inoffensive. I can't see why anyone wouldn't like this. I'm like the queen of blind buying so I'm so happy when they work out in my favor lol. I love this perfume. But that's usually the case for me when it comes to Coach fragrances ❤️

Coach Poppy is a very pretty, girly, fragrance but it does resemble some of the celebrity scents out there. It also reminds me of Hanae Mori 7 (bright pink bottle). I really do like this compared to the Poppy Flower one,though, which I felt was to floral and gave me allergies. With Coach Poppy I can definitely pick up on the marshmallow and I adore it.

I fell in love with this perfume on a Caribbean cruise for my birthday (2015). My sister and I each bought a bottle. Really fresh and sweet - I get a strong cucumber-ish/aquatic note on my skin following the sweet opening. Summertime staple for sure. It works well for the office and has moderate sillage and longevity. Lasts 4 to 5 hours on my skin.

Short review: I get mostly marshmallow, cedarwood and a lot of vanilla based sweetness. There is something that almost reminds me of raspberry though it isn't one of the notes. I quite like it...very girly and easy to wear.I admit I'm confused as to why the perfume in the main photo is a different color as is the bow on the neck.

Coach poppy is sweet, young, and light! Sweet candy, fluffy marshmallow, and whipped vanilla with a light crisp cucumber and subtle hints of water lily and mandarin. Coach Poppy should really be classified as an eau de toilette and not an eau de parfum, it has no lasting power, but other than that I really love this fragrance!

soooo this is my 2nd review .. my boyfriend surprised me w/ a bottle of poppy a few days ago!!!! he picked out poppy b/c it was a perfume he and i loved. i've been wearing it for the past two days. smells fresh and light. to me i would say this smells like a cucumber watermelon sugar candy!!! it's a cute and happy scent. :)

There's a new Poppy called Poppy Flower coming in August I guess. I'm loving the coloring. I'm looking forward to it. This perfume is amazing, I love it is Floral and sweet ..i like as smell .. make me feeling as that pretty girl I've been in inside me..I highly Recommend for Girls between 15 age to 25 age.. this smell so good ... but the fixer not is long lasting , that is the only bad, that had but is Great Parfum!!

I am so surprised this has received such negative reviews. I absolutely LOVE Coach Poppy. It is my favorite scent. It's so lovely. It's strong, but in a very pleasant way. It's bright and citrusy. The lasting power is great. Overall, I think it's amazing, and it works so well with my skin chemistry.

This is a favorite of mine, I always seem to come back to it. It's so fresh, cucumber is very prominent. It doesn't really change though out the day, but that's ok cause it smells great! I can see the resemblance between this and Britney Spears fantasy,but I don't find this as sweet and cloying.

I love this perfume! My husband made me try SEVERAL different scents. The lady at the perfume counter knew what I liked and had me try Poppy. I put it on at 4 PM and could still smell it at 9 AM after a shower! Very Impressive! I love the scent and the staying power!

On my skin, Poppy smells like a mix between MJ's Daisy and Brit's Fantasy. Fresh, sweet, floral, youthful and feminine. It's a very pretty, wearable fragrance. It's not really special enough to warrant the high price, but if I found it discounted I'd pick it up.

This is a really cute spring and summer daytime fragrance that smells like watermelon jolly ranchers! Not quite what I expected, but it is enjoyable nevertheless. It’s sweet, fresh, and juicy with soft projection and good lasting power ~8 hrs on clothing.

I don't find that Poppy smells like Viva. It does smell like something though. I can't put my finger on it though. I think the dry down smells like Brits Fantasy. It's a nice sweet fruity floral. I'll get me a bottle when I find it cheaper. : )

I love this! It's such a beautiful, fresh and warm fragrance. It has a distinct creme-brulee accord that just wraps you up in feminine loveliness. I love the marshmallow note as well, mixed with the bright fruity florals. I want this so badly!

To me, This smells nothing like Viva La Juicy, It smells to me like what Viva La Juicy was trying to be. I don't particularity enjoy Coach as a company, however I couldn't help from enjoying this when I smelt it on a sample that I received.

This is the most beautiful scent!!!!! smelled it in Cosmo magazine and could smell it for hours after inhaling this from the magazine page!!!!! JUST DIVINE SMELLING!!!!!! Nice Floral, well put bouquet of flowers inn a bottle!

I don't really like Coach's fragrances, but WOW do I love this scent. Cucumber prevents the sweetness from being cloying. Juicy, fruity, fresh and definitely YUMMM. This is a funner, younger, and sweeter than Poppy Flower.

I am 31 and i love this - it's light, fruity and sweet - but as another reviewer said it would not be my signature scent...although I am so addicted to scent that I don't have a favorite - I love hundreds of perfumes!

One of my favorites, I've almost finished my 100ml bottle. A beautiful scent that I'm sure many would like as it's clean, sweet and fresh, not overly strong or polarizing. A great every day perfume.

I just got this in time for Christmas, and I really like it. It doesn't last very long on me and it does resemble Live Luxe! I should have followed my wish list and gotten that instead!

I wore this scent 8 years ago and I just bought a decant. I still love it. It’s sweet and floral, but not cloying. I don’t care that it’s a basic scent, it’s pretty and girly.

- eventhough it looks tacky and girly and i'm more of a "Bulgarijasminnoirwoman" it's lovely, happy and uplifting. super for an everyday- fragrance

Very delicate and pretty floral, but has no staying power, it's pretty much gone after 2 hours. I'll use up my sample but won't be purchasing.

My boyfriend picked this one out for me on his own because he loved it so much! I love it, but I think it works best for a winter night.

i agree ... poppy does smell similar to live luxe which i had before. i find the dry down is what reallly smells like live luxe.

It's like the beginning starts out as Circus Fantasy & the dry down turns in2 Fantasy! LOL! They put the 2 scents 2gether! : )

I do believe I like this one better than Coach Poppy Flower! It's mostly vanilla/green for me... a little caramel on dry down.

This smells pretty good....light, fresh, floral. Would be good for Spring I think.
