Legacy

I did previously review this, but thought I’d try to give an updated review. Fresh, sweet, floral, clean, bright, citrusy, woodsy, feminine, sensual, flirty, charming, whimsical, delightful, cheerful, joyful, crisp, airy, happy, uplifting, radiant, luminous, inviting, comforting, cozy On me this opens with a bright burst of citrusy orange, the sweet honeyed floral scent of honeysuckle, fresh and clean freesia, and soft floral notes intertwined with enchanting woodsy notes. As it dries down, the floral and woodsy notes are wrapped in a sensual blanket of warm golden amber and powdery vanilla. This feels like standing in a field of wildflowers on the edge of the woods right during that golden hour in the evening, and while the sun begins to set. The sun is warm on your skin, and there is just a very gentle breeze stirring the trees and flowers, and also bringing the smell of crisp fresh country air. This is so very beautiful, and one of my absolute favorite florals! It’s so very charming, whimsical, and delightful! The smell of this always brings a smile to my face! I love how it’s both bright and cheerful, while also being sensual and flirty. It even feels somewhat refreshing, so I love wearing it during the spring and summer. It’s a fantastic fragrance for casual occasions as well as work and/or school. I would even say this would be a lovely signature scent, but sadly it’s been discontinued, and is quite hard to come by, or goes for hundreds of dollars now. Fortunately, I still have my original round bottle (I’ve always been a big fan of Coach, both their perfumes and purses, so I even own the Legacy purse, wallet, and even keychain), but I use it sparingly as I hope to have it for many more years. I get excellent performance with Coach Legacy. The longevity is impressive, it lasts throughout the entire day on me. The projection is great, it radiates out 2-3 feet from me. Another gorgeous fragrance from Coach! I bought this around the same time as Coach Poppy launched (2009?) and I’m still wearing it all of these years later! It’s a beautiful, fresh, bright, crisp, happy, feminine, woodsy floral scent! It’s slightly sweet, but nothing gourmand, and the fresh scent feels like fresh sweet country air! The honeysuckle, floral notes, and woodsy notes are the most prominent on me. The orange also shines through with a bright, clean, and crisp freshness. The vanilla and amber are subtle on me, but they do become a little more noticeable during the dry down. Legacy has excellent performance on me! It lasts all day and I can still smell it on me the next morning! The silage is great too... it radiates out to about an arm’s length! It does remind me in a way of Coach Love (2012 version), but not as floral and with more sweetness! This is a good thing because I adore Love! It also reminds me somewhat of the original VS Pink, Marc Jacobs Mod Noir, and fragrances that Hollister carried back in the early 2000s!

Coach Legacy (the old rainbow stripe cap version) is a fragrance that haunts me to this day. I wore this a lot in my mid 20s, and unfortunately it was discontinued. Fast forward 15 years and I still have nothing else that does for me what this perfume did. I have been chasing that same olfactory "high" that Legacy gave me in every new bottle I buy... I wish they would bring it back.

I bought this for my wife for mother's day and I really love this on her. When I come in from work I get swept away by the sweet floral aroma. I guess it last for awhile as well. I asked her one day when she put it on and she said early that morning and it was around 6:00pm when I asked her. Women don't be afraid to wear this around your guys. I know I go crazy when I smell it.

I just re-ordered this for myself - it's easily found Online. I wore this a couple of years ago when spending a month up in British Columbia (I got so many compliments when wearing it, especially from women) - my bottle is almost empty, so needed to treat myself today. I love being surrounded by this intense floral frag. Sillage is around 6 ft, longevity right at 10 hours.

Coach Legacy is my number one favorite floral fragrance. I cannot say how saddened I was to find out it was discontinued. It was, for the longest time, my signature scent. Although, I call it floral, it is in fact a spicy floral way more complex than my granny's florals. I always get compliments on CL. I am on a quest to buy up remaining inventory.

Dear Coach People, Why this beautiful and sophisticated scent has been discontinued is a mystery. This is a mainstay in on my dresser. Time and perfume are running out. You replaced it with Coach Love? Seriously? Not sincerely, Hissyknit

Coach please bring this back. It was your best fragrance!

I like Coach fragrances, my favorite is Coach Signature, now discontinued. I kept reading all the great reviews on Coach Legacy and to top it of I read it was discontinued, so I bit the bullet and purchased a 1.7 bottle as the larger bottle is no longer available. It wasn't cheap. I was so excited! I received it and promptly sprayed on myself. Ugh!!! cough! cough! What on earth is in this? I like all the notes listed, but something is definitely is spoiling it. I have to agree with Lipglossjunkee, it smells like cheap shampoo, maybe not shampoo, but something cheap indeed. Update: The bottle sat on my dresser for a long time, I thought about giving it away to someone that would appreciate it, but then gave it one more try. It was summer, I sprayed it and went about my day. I got compliments!! :) And it smelled pretty, a delicate clean floral, but not too delicate as it has a little projection but in a discrete way and just enough of a sweetness but not sweet. Is it pretty? It really is, and it lasts 6+ I no longer think it smells cheap and it's back in my collection. Someone mentioned that it smelled like a man's fragrance, it doesn't, it's too delicate a floral. My recommendation, try it again in a different season. It smells nothing like Viva La Juicy, of which I only own Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy Gold Couture.

This perfume is fuzzy/fruity and preppy. Very cute. To me it smells like the inside of Bath and Body store, I'm sure you can find something there that smells simmilar. It's not a complicated smell but pleasant non the less. Perfect for day/spring. Personal note: I saw this at Khols on clearance and snatched few bottles, without clearing the shelf I will add. It's not the most amazing perfume on earth but it reminds me of when it first came out. I was in my first years of college and could not afford Coach. I remember my friend's older sister using this and would be furious if her younger sisters sprayed her perfume, which ofcourse made them spray the forbidden juice all the more. Anyway, it was so nostalgic to me that I just had to have it in my growing collection. Now a moment of silence for Nextels, pale shimmery gloss and low rise jeans.

I disagree with a lot of the reviews on here - this doesn't smell exactly like Viva La Juicy. Viva La Juicy literally makes me feel nauseous - Coach Legacy does not. Legacy seems a bit softer, perhaps not quite as sweet. I'm not a huge fan of amber, but it's not overwhelming in this perfume, in my opinion. My husband loves Viva La Juicy and since I can't wear it, Coach Legacy has been a good compromise for both of us. I will admit this is not my favorite perfume. It's not something I would have purchased for myself - but my sister received it as a gift and didn't like it, so gave it to me. I imagine the bottle will last me for quite some time. I do actually get a lot of complements when I wear it, though. It has decent sillage and staying power - I still catch whiffs of it at the end of the workday.

On the one hand, this smells not-very-distinctive, at first. At first, it reminds me a bit of the perfumes sold in high-school-to-college-age-girls clothing stores. Soft, powdery floral. But something about the underlying hint of wood and amber, something about the way it reminds me of good leather- handbags and belts and shoes mixed in amongst the clean clothes in a fine wooden armoire; working saddle soap into smooth grain; the soft firmness of the seats in a luxury car... there's just something about it. Something that has me unable to stop breathing it in off my skin. Something a little stark, a little luxurious, a little mature. Like a warmly chic boutique you can't help but love to browse around in, despite its pretentious customers and prices. You kind of want to become it, just a little.

Wonderful, feminine, and very uplifting! This review is for the Coach Legacy body mist. A very inviting, fragrant, happy scent. Never cloying--but, perfect for most daytime activities such as brunch, and the workplace. The honeysuckle, floral notes, and amber really shine through--creating a subtly sweet, sexy, non-gourmand fragrance. A perfect alternative to today's ooey-gooey gourmands. I layered Legacy Body Mist with Coach eau de Toilette for a fresh, girly, sexy masterpiece that has wonderful silage! My husband absolutely loved it! He complemented me several times and kept sniffing! To my nose, Coach Legacy is signature scent worthy and would be a great addition to any collection.

ecpkngt really hit the nail on the head with how I feel about this fragrance. At first I liked it, then I didn't, then I read her review and said EXACTLY! It's not quite safe, there's something in it that people might not like. Linden blossom maybe? Magnolia that's a bit too waxy? I can't place it. But at the same time I kind of love the overall effect of this fragrance. Powdery...some mimosa in there somewhere with green vines and honeysuckle and lovely woody notes. It's overall classy, but can be youthful too and pretty versatile. I can definitely see it being someone's signature.

Such a unique fragrance. Part of me loves it, while another part fears some of the notes may offend others. It's one of those 'guilty fragrances' many of us enjoy on the sly: At bedtime, a dab on the wrist and etc. If you love this one, I've been able to find and purchase this at a top rated online oil store: Scentsational Shoppe's oils smell just like the originals and The Common Scents is also a wonderful site for oils. I used to work at a fragrance counter and find many of my discontinued favorites there.

I have Coach Legacy EDP in a rectangular bottle, different than what is pictured. (It looks much like the Summer Legacy bottle.) Is this the same thing, I wonder? What I have smells great. Tart fruits, light floral, and a nice fresh airiness without smelling like a dryer sheet. I'm surprised! And glad I gave this another chance, it was langoring in my drawer unused until recently. I've been into lighter fruity florals and powdery stuff lately and this really fits in that theme :)

This smells like a men's fragrance to me. I wore it a lot one summer, and my impression never changed. I gave the rest of the bottle to my husband, and it is wonderful on him. Great staying power. But I can see why they discontinued it.

Very sharp,very green. Smells like cheap shampoo. I was hoping for some sweetness or something to soften the harsh edges,but no amber appeared, and the vanilla was weak and took 2 hours to make an appearance. Not worth keeping,for me.

Gorgeous opening with honeysuckle and citrus! Dries to dandelion blossom. I love this. (warm weather) Sweet tart fruit and soft florals with patchouli. Maybe pepper? I like this less. (cold weather)

I'm not nuts for the melon opening, tho I might like it more in the hot weather. The floral heart is worth waiting for. Good, not great. I'll wear it to work.

Its amazing how many Viva La Juicy copycats are out there!!! Nothing, including Legacy, compares to the brilliant & delicious Viva!! : )

A Bit Blase` Well.... I heard such WONDERFUL things about this fragrance. Things that made me feel as though I just HAD to give it a try. But looking at the price of this now, due to it being discontinued... There was no way I was going to pay $200-300 for a blind buy bottle. Fast forward and I run across a sample box of Coach mini dabbers that included this fragrance, so I jumped on it. Sighs.... Of the 4 dabbers included, this one is my least favorite. I mean, it's not horrible... It's just lackluster. I think it would be perfect if you just wanted to apply a fragrance that wouldn't draw much attention. It's a little powdery, woody, soft, and warm. Maybe it smelled better back in the day, but as I type this review today, it's nothing to write home about.

It's a simple scent that is sweeter than I anticipated. It is not as youthful as Coach Poppy. I think it'd be great for a young professional looking for something mature yet a bit flirty.

For the price... it's totally not worth it, BUT I am not a floral scent person to begin with. My husband gave this to me as a gift a couple of year ago... the bottle is still basically full sitting in my bathroom. I have tried to use it a couple of times but to me it smelt like an old lady who over sprayed perfume lol... (I only put one squirt on!!!!!) Too floral for my taste and floral smells cheap to me.

This smells rancid on me, even though it's a lovely fragrance.

This is a very strong scent. I'm very surprised to see that patchouli isn't a note, because this has a very strong patchouli scent to me. I definitely smell florals, but they're mature florals (what some would consider a "grandma" scent). I prefer light and dainty fragrances, and this one is just too bold for me.

White flower, orange, and amber. Definitely get the orange. The amber gets stronger the longer you go. The wood and vanilla almost make me think I am smelling something close to patchouli, but there is no patch in this. When I first applied this, it seemed so familiar. I kept thinking that I have smelled this many times before. However, I could not place it until I came to this page and saw Britney Spears Cosmic Radiance listed in the Reminds Me Of section. Yes! That is it! So...I sprayed Legacy on one wrist and BSCR on the other to compare. Here is what I found: * Orange is the link between these two. The orange/amber combination to be precise. * Legacy is darker and more ambery. There is a heavy vibe like patchouli or coffee down in this. * Cosmic Radiance is 85% the same. Subtract half the amber and replace it with gardenia...and that's Cosmic Radiance. Lighter and more gardenia. There is no gardenia in Legacy. The white flower is clearly honeysuckle because it has a little of the plastic green sweetness of honeysuckle. Thus, you could describe Legacy as "Britney Spears Cosmic Radiance Noir." Or, you could describe Cosmic Radiance as "Coach Legacy en Fleurs." Either way. Legacy is a great fragrance that smells of quality. I doubt you would offend anyone with this in social or work settings, yet it's not bland and wilting like an "office" perfume.

Legacy by Coach is a very wearable clean fruity floral, however, I'm not sure that it's worth its extraordinarily high price tag. This composition has been done before, in fact, many fragrances in a cheaper price range smell very similar if not the same. Legacy by Coach is super fresh and crisp on my skin making it the perfect scent for Spring and Summer. The most dominant notes to my nose include honeysuckle, orange peel, sandalwood and potentially grapefruit. Many would describe this scent as having a 'shampoo vibe', the type of scent that encapsulates the feeling of having just stepped out of the shower. I don't tend to reach for clean scents all too often, so Legacy by Coach probably wouldn't get a lot of wear if it were ever in my collection. Clean fruity florals are usually my go-to's for casual, around the house wear. Seeing that Legacy by Coach is becoming increasingly harder to obtain and as a result more expensive, I highly doubt that I would ever buy a bottle. It's a shame actually as I really like the bottle design and its presentation. Legacy by Coach also lasts extremely well on my skin and has moderate projection. I am glad that I ordered a sample before blind purchasing as you can probably see from the varied reviews, it is quite a polarising scent.

I agree this has nothing in common with Viva la juicy!!!! They might be opposites even! Legacy is a formal serious floral. It smells nice if you are a fan of white florals, this is well done in its category, but it has a vintage vibe almost. Nonetheless this is stylish really, I agree it has similarities with EL Pleasure.Coach isn't aiming at the young crowd with Legacy , it isn't a bad scent, this is simply a floral perfume , with style , and elegance.

Very nice woody floral scent, it also has a good dose of musk. It is the kind of scent that mentally I associate with a lady wearing a white dress while walking in the park in a sunny day. Very pretty and lady like.

My initial impression was okay. It was a very pleasant floral scent which reminded me so much of Estee Lauder Pleasures. Unfortunately, it is still quite expensive for such an uninspiring fragrance.

I just received a sample of this. It is totally amazing. Soft florals surrounded by a honey type of scent. Soft with remarkable sillage and longevity. TOTALLY recommended.

smells fresh andclean. nice bottle I love the rainbow colors. reminds me of tommy girl but apparently they dont make that anymore.
