Victorian Vanilla

I am a vanilla skeptic and finding a vanilla perfume that I truly enjoy wearing is a difficult task. I will rate a vanilla perfume a good one and give it a good review here because I recognize it is a vanilla that most people that love vanilla will enjoy but in the end, I don't buy a full bottle because many of them are just to gourmand for me. Now, Victorian Vanilla is a true grown-up vanilla that still is sweet and keeps a youthful character that others find enjoyable w/out becoming a gourmand. There is a touch of vintage here in this perfume, but it stays away from being old fashioned. It pulls back from being a gourmand as well at least for me. The vanilla has a bit of roughness, almost like a raw cane sugar soaked in vanilla smell but the cinnamon keeps it warm, cozy and very inviting. Lemon adds a brightness and freshness and keeps things light and airy. Benzoin adds depth and more warmth. I've worn this twice now (I just got my bottle) and longevity is very good. I am a person that likes to top off during the day and I did not have to do so at all. I had a nice scent bubble follow me all day w/ no reapplying. If you like warm spicy vanilla perfumes that are sweet but not to sweet (you won't smell like an actual desert) you should check this beauty out. Big crowd pleaser as well, I wore this around a few people and got compliments galore. Another thing this company offers 17ml bottles which is nice for collectors that have a large collection such as myself. The larger size is on my Christmas list.

Long-overdue wearing of Coastal Carolina Parfums Victorian Vanilla by Cameron Byrd, a very easy vanilla to enjoy—sugary, spicy, resinous, and just a touch floral via the sweet magnolia flower, which blends seamlessly with the vanilla-centric concept of the fragrance. I enjoy that it’s sugary, a little boozy, without being over the top, still with some lightness and playfulness. I think vanilla lovers will enjoy this without a doubt, but even those who may shy away from sweet fragrances are likely to not be overwhelmed or off-put but this. I think it’s a relaxing, lovely blend that reminds me of some of the very best vanillas out there. Victorian Vanilla is priced at $135/35 for 50/32ml and performs very well, and is sold directly via the Coastal Carolina Parfums website. 8 out of 10

What an underrated gem this perfume- and whole house- is. I was blown away with the quality of the samples I got. This is a fluffy, light spun vanilla- that has the density of an angel food cake. It just sits beautifully in the air and on skin. I pick up mostly on the vanilla and and a rich brown sugar with just a dusting of cinnamon. It’s tasty smelling but doesn’t literally smell like food to me. It opens with a bit of a camphorous scent but quickly turns into the vanilla I mentioned. As it dries it gets a bit more ambery. Moderate longevity, about 5 hours on me. I think this will be a real compliment getter.

This is a vanilla masterpiece! FYI, you might get eaten if you wear this around a hungry person!

As a long time lover of vanilla, I have to say that this is, hands down, one of the best. It's right up there with my beloved SDV, as well as my Le Labo Vanille 44. Not to be mistaken, Victorian Vanilla is not at all similar to either of those--it is just a perfect vanilla fragrance. This is a delicious vanilla, but you won't be smelling like a cookie or like a bottle of vanilla extract. It is a warm, ambery, cozy vanilla. I hope I am never without this fragrance. I've been pulling for this one more than I have been pulling for any of my other fragrances, and the dent in my bottle is downright scary. If you are on the fence for this one, don't be. It's just perfect.
