Matcha Latte

[Reviewing the current Colornoise matcha which is just called Matcha.] Wow, at last a matcha perfume that doesn't smell like everything but! It's a great blend of grassy, earthy, and sweet (in order of development). Development is slow, over several hours, so the sweetness is alone only at the very last. This is the truest and least complicated matcha I've found yet, and therefore my personal winner.

On me it's all matcha and no latte. I don't get the custard at all. It's very bright, fresh, green, almost floral. It's as though you sprinkled some matcha powder on some spring flowers. It's very pretty and inoffensive, I like it, but I'm sad because I was really craving a realistic matcha latte fragrance. This floral quality makes it come off more feminine in my mind. Projection, however, was pretty surprising. I sprayed three sprays and my boyfriend, from several feet away, said it smelled like someone had poured tea all over the floor.

I hate to say it, but this smells like yet another dupe for Matcha Meditation. It is also identical to Colornoise's latest matcha-scented offering, Matcha Ice Cream. Both of them have that fresh, citrusy green tea opening Matcha Meditation does. Refreshing and a bit sweet. I have to admit, I do love that the fragrance ~juice~ looks like a matcha latte when shaken up. :) Very adorable, I wish more fragrance companies gave more thought to the visual experience of their brand.

Very green and sweet, a pretty fragrance. I agree with other reviewers that it’s not as gourmand smelling as the name implies but it does feel closer to an authentic green tea scent than other green tea fragrances I’ve tried.

I think the power of suggestion is strong with this one. The opaque, milky green liquid certainly looks like a matcha latte. You would expect something gourmand and lactonic. But this is an extremely fresh, grassy, sweet fragrance. It is not at all warm or cozy, but bright and effervescent. More reminiscent of stirring sugar into the foam of a matcha you forgot to order sweetened and taking a gritty sip off the top. There is the slightest bitterness in the dry down reminiscent of green tea, but not much. It is mostly fruity, sweet sugar (with an apple quality, like COLORNOISE's French Horn.) I wish the scent were truer to form. I ordered the sample for Fall/Winter but it's definitely a Summer scent. Green and grassy, but not matcha. (Now, if you want something REALLY true to form, COLORNOISE Cereal Milk is incredible.) Word of warning for all the oqaque, milky looking fragrances by the brand: The liquid is extremely oily, more than any fragrance oil I've ever used. It's like applying lotion, and takes quite a while to dry. I suspect it's from the Jojoba Milk. I didn't love the sticky feeling on my neck, and you definitely want to avoid spraying on your clothes, which is a shame since the scents don't radiate very much or last too long.

Using “Ice cream” in the name suggests this is a creamy gourmand matcha. It’s not. It’s sharp, sweet, green and bitter- not in a tea-like way, but like fresh lawn clippings and chewing on cut ivy. It opens up with a bitterness that’s pretty intense, almost offputting, but in the dry down it becomes soapy, subtle, and takes on a bit of an ivy-citrus scent (still bitter, but not so gag worthy). It fades quickly. As a super green ivy-grass scent I would say the photorealism here is a masterpiece, but its name is completely misleading. It’s a mix of plain foaming soap and what it was like to chew on random sweet leaves and grass as a kid.

The best matcha fragrance I have found. I’ve tried many most fall flat and have lackluster synthetic tone. This is Very well done and not synthetic at all. Her birthday cake one is also good but Matcha Latte is the best. It’s also fantastic layered with Delizia De Marshmallow from Khyse.

I love the smell of green tea, and this fragrance from colornoise is true to life, so I love it, too. It's milky and sweet, with nice depth. My only complaint is that it doesn't last super long, but I'll probably buy the full size anyway.

This is a bit more powdery and muted compared to Matcha Meditation but the resemblance is definitely there.
