8 88

8 88 is my favourite fragrance in my collection and has been my signature scent since the start of this year. This fragrance is extremely unusual, yet I find it totally wearable; that's what I love about this scent. I can totally understand why it's so polarising though. The opening is very metallic and spicy with a slight greenness and a hint of floral. Maybe it's just the marketing, but it's the opening that really makes me think of gold. The drydown sadly doesn't so much. Having said that, I still really enjoy the drydown. This fragrance gradually becomes sweeter on my skin. The metallic vibe seems to fade over time and it drys down to a slightly sweet, amber with a smoky undertone. The longevity is great on my skin. It lasts around eight hours on me. It has very strong projection when it's first applied, though it quickly softens so that it becomes noticeable but not overpowering. Don't spray too much of this fragrance as it can become cloying. I find this to be extremely versatile in terms of when I can wear this and at what time of year. I personally probably wouldn't choose to wear this much during a summer heatwave. However, if you're one of those people who enjoys wearing fragrances like Serge Luten's Ambre Sultan in hot weather, maybe you'll enjoy this too? 8 88 is completely unisex, very modern and totally unique. It may not be for everyone, but it's definitely a fragrance that everyone should try.

Nice avant-garde floral spicy fragrance that is androgynous in a very interesting way. There is a yellow, shimmering quality to it, no doubt reinforced by the gold theme and bottle. The opening is a unique display of wet paint (I'm glad someone else got this!), dusty spice, slightly metallic frosty-incense smoke and surprisingly accessible florals. It's complex and full of contrasting elements, but it works. Somehow it straddles the line between spice rack, florist fridge and futuristic strangeness without just being a mangled blob of chaos. It's such a fun opening that I find myself sad when I notice it fading. In the drydown the weird industrial aspects disappear and are replaced by a simple amber. At this point its a slightly sweet floral spicy hair conditioner that I actually still enjoy. It's just not as interesting as the opening. It performs very well (I would say above average in terms of longevity, but very quiet in terms of throw). This fits in perfectly next to the other CDG's and it is definitely worth checking out if you are a fan of the line or are looking for a one of a kind floral spice fragrance. I don't wear it too often as it doesn't really suit my personality (I'm much too drab and quiet for such a fun fragrance). 7.5/10

Rather feminine but still alright for a brave man. Odd synthetic dry structures with a hint of metallic ambery floral scent going on... To my nose, 888, opens light and zesty with pepper note, melting with a fiery , grant slap of playful coriander. I can detect the synthetic saffron straight away, flying around the whole formula, showing off its own presence. The top notes have a funny bubbly, effervescent side. The initial sniff , to my nose, is kind of feminine, but it doesn't bother me at all. It could be definitely a Guerilla 2 old brother,as they have similar character, but as it's settling down, the perfume get a nice gorgeous soul. The safraline share path with hints of nice metallic geranium leaves that melts with the curcuma brings a vague hint of metallic sour mustard like odour... The fragrance keeps heady and confortable while the drydown introduces the amber that add a warm twist to the whole formula. The drydown is dry and bitter. I realy like this scent, as much of the other Comme des garçons line. I probably have to try twice to get used of the arid, acrid aura that float around you when you wear it. It decants a little to the feminine side, but who cares really?. The long lasting is acceptable. 4/5 hours in my skin.

I'm not a fan of those "for women and men" gender-binding perfumes as in most of the cases, these turn out to weigh more on the female side by being overly sweet or powdery. Here's a great exception of that rule. This great perfume is a romantic stormer that leaves no one unaffected, so here's a good reason why it's destined for both sexes. With its unusual herbal combination at the start and the elegant flowery heart there's a blend that might fool you for a "sweeter" but in fact that's a very intimate, charming and sophisticated companion for everyone. Why am I speaking for everyone here, who or what gives me that right? But the amazing composition of those notes and nothing else! Who could resist this charmer really? High quality ingredients make it long lasting on my skin for about 7-8 hours, let's not forget it's an EDP: A few more sprays and it'd be carrying you in its cloud for the whole day! Such a rounded and carefully structured blend caters great for cold outdoors and cozy winter nights in or even special events, proving its versatile character. As for the prices, a good search on the Internet found this for about 48 Euros /50ml, I don't think that's much for such a good quality EDP. My overall rating: 8.5/10

Oh yes! It's as weird as I hoped and provides a delicious, shifting, roller-coaster ride of genre-bending perfumery. I can't put my finger on any one thing. What seems to be metallic one minute suddenly seems sexy-skanky the next (I get the same vibe from Ganymede) sort of like hot sweaty muscle dude, although that's not to say it's masculine, I reckon anyone can rock this if they're feeling it. The turmeric is very apparent, but it's such a complicated chorus of accompanying notes it doesn't seem at all culinary. I can totally understand those who say they appreciate this but couldn't imagine wearing it, and I probably won't wear it often, but I'm looking forward to trying it in different seasons. Wearing this again today, and OH the drydown... So creamy, ambery, spicy and wonderful, but in a unique way. It really doesn't resemble anything else.

This one seems pretty underestimated compared with other ones like 2 Man or Wonderwood... But I personally think than this one is more original. ^^' A really great "metallic" floral one to my nose with a powerful incense note, which makes it very unisex. (dispite it's listed as oriental spicy) Strange but lovely ! (like almost all CdG ones) On the drydrown, here comes the warm side of the fragrance, spices all around (saffron and coriander), circling without distorting the geranium. A perfect combination of flowers and spices. Yay. Great longevity and projection.

Wow, wow, wow! I put it on and I instantly got spices and pepper in the best of ways! Then, it went to and Angel-like caramel/patchouli smell, but in a much less brash manner. I love the sweet, warm smoke of the Amber and Incense... This is how a unisex frag should be done. It's got this lovely ambiguity about it; some maleness, some femaleness but all sex, warmth and intrigue. I would love this on any gender as it's a powerful and complex enough scent to where it morphs to the person wearing it. Right. Back to smelling my arm.

I've been aware of Comme de Garcons for roughly half of my lifetime now. I was always curious about what image the line projected, how their perfumes smelled, etc. Now I know that my instinct led me to this for a good reason. It's everything a unisex fragrance should be. All of the previous reviews contain points I could relate to after the mere initial testing, generating one of the fastest purchases I've ever made. This won't be the last purchase, either...

If you like Cartier le baiser du dragon (kiss of the dragon) then this Comme 888 is very similar. Both projects great character, perhaps Comme is a little bit deeper with the amber. Both are unisex, in fact a lot of guys wore Cartier baiser du dragon. Excellent stuff comes with price and money worth.

To be sexy, I think most unisex scents need to lean a hair toward one gender or the other, regardless of which is wearing it. This is so incredibly sexy to me, while being squarely unisex. It should smell like an Indian kitchen. It doesn't. If it had a bit heavier performance, it'd be a masterpiece.

My sinuses are all over the place at the moment, but what I get from this is a nice flowery combination combined with the smell of burning matches. It has some similarities to CDG's "2" - there is something in both of them that brings back almost mystical childhood memories. I like it!

Reading all the review belove, I understood that the bottle that had captured my attention in a perfumery, deserved a blind buy (the price was also good!!). I am very happy of my choice: original, good feeling wearing it today, my cup of tea!!! Thanks to Fragrantica community!!!

Got this as a gift for my younger brother, he loved it! He kept getting compliments and one of his friends offered to trade it for a Tuscan Leather by Tom Ford! The scent is sweet, dark and game! The gold bottle makes one feel free, charming and daring. A fine scent!

First to ever owned something like this, ambery sweet floral with a touch of masculine notes. Perfect for the weather like here as it will last. For the price paid, it should be really good product. For it deserves 10/10 scent Cheers

I have encountered many spice-themed fragrances, yet this is the first time I’ve experienced something quite like this. The presence of a turmeric note was the main reason I decided to order it. It offers a distinctive, almost ritualistic character and a truly unconventional profile. The atmosphere it creates is built upon a dense, heavy base with a noticeable metallic surface effect. It is certainly not in the style of Ganymede. Instead, it reminds me of tomato soup and, interestingly, of an Arab vendor working in Istanbul’s Spice Bazaar. It evokes the impression of someone aspiring to be well-groomed, yet not fully achieving that ideal. I wouldn’t describe it as an “Arabian” fragrance; however, this is the particular association it brings to mind for me. 10/6.5

I don't think this one is too strange or weird. The beginning is hard to wear, surely - I got a pure turmeric note at first, and for some fifteen minutes I felt like being in an Indian restaurant, but later it becomes more mellow and smooth. The turmeric note is joined by a dash of saffron, but I mostly feel some aromatic nuances of geranium - I thought it was some kind of mint before I read the notes here. The drydown takes that geranium and saffron and wraps them with an incense cloud. Throughout the whole evolution I felt some metallic quality in the background, but I'm not quite sure where did that come from. 8 88 is a scent with good longevity and tolerable sillage. I feel it's good to go with a lot of outfits and in lots of occasions, but make sure to spray it 15 minutes to half an hour before going somewhere. It's good for both hot and warm weather. If all of that made it sound versatile, then be it. But, this is a love or hate scent for those who would ponder wearing it - not really a blind buy material. However, it's worth trying and worth giving it a shot. 8,25/10

A weirdo of a scent: an extroverted take on an oriental. I can imagine an artist wearing this perfume, eating el fresco or shopping in an outdoor market. It has a urban feel to it, completely unisex and ageless. Opening is equal parts turmeric and saffron, somehow it feels appropriate to spring with its bright sillage in this first phase. Geranium comes in next, along with incense and patch. There’s also a synthetic aspect In the drydown but it doesn’t bother me. I admire this fragrance though I’m not sure it’s something I want to wear. I purchased the small splash bottle off fragrencenet, which you should do first if interested as this is now difficult to find because it’s been discontinued.

This is indeed a weird fragrance, weird but totally wearable. It's a green oriental if that makes sense and I could honestly swear that it is Coco's green sister. Starts off with the spices, the coriander is green to my nose and the turmeric quite discernible. The flowers emerge very quickly and at this point, it is a very beautiful scent. It goes through a middle phase that's mainly turmeric and very loud and then dries to a soft floral spicy amber. It stays transparent throughout and has lasted on my skin for more than 10 hours when I washed the scent away in the shower. I found the scent to have good sillage and was able to smell it all day.

While there is an element of soapiness (particularly white Dove soap) and old school barbershop, this is truly unique. The soap and spice mix does have a metallic shiny effect that can be polarizing for some, thus this is not for everyone. If over sprayed this will be a complete turn off as this is strong stuff. If worn lightly, it comes across as clean, spicy and complex and more of a daytime/office scent. I appreciate how unique this is and it's surprising versatile and easy to wear. I get the hate for this, but don't agree and I think it all depends on how much is applied. I do like the unusual, so I'm am a fan of this one.

A very interesting fragrance. At first it seems warm and slightly peppery, but with a metallic undernote which remains throughout. I think the safron adds a touch of sweetness which seems to come and go. After a while the amber becomes more and more prominent, and adds to the comforting warmness and 'golden' impression. Though the peppery and metallic notes keeps making a reappearance. It seems to keep subtly changing all the time - very strange and quite fascinating. I think this is definitely unisex - I like it on me but would also love to smell it on a man. Definitely worth a try if you like warm, ambery fragrances

Metallic, synthetic, artificial with a sharp bite, but in spite of it all, it totally works. This one is a stand out, modern and unique but at the same time very sophisticated. So strange that it can literally stop traffic. Excellent sillage and longevity, I can smell it on me the day after. Also it really doesn't change much when worn. What you see is what you get. I can see where this would not be everyone's cup of tea, but its not meant to be a commercial crowd pleaser. I love it, it's my new signature.

I bought this with my twin for our friend's birthday then later bought it as a gift for our younger brother. The perfume was amazing, it wasn't spicy but had a hint of soft but clear amber, the turmeric was there for a split second before the rich, smoky scent engulfs you with a spray of noble flowers. They, our friend and younger brother, loved it, and so did we! A perfect gift for any friend or male sibling, as this perfume takes the red carpet! Scent 9/10 Staying Power 10/10

So is this how infinity smells? Or is this the smell of gold? Smell is gold is infinity is spice. So probably this is how melange smells then. I like 8 88 and I am glad I own a bottle. Its spicy accord has a fresh tea-like character and a science fiction aspect to it. Made for Blade Runners. I do not love it, but i appreciate the arty connotations since this is what i’ve come to expect from CdG. ****(*)

I was trying the whole line of Comme des Garçons fragrances today, and even though all of them are interesting and beautiful, this one retained my attention more than the others. 8 88 a spicy, slightly metallic saffron flower scent, it's light and appealing, not overwhelming, and truly versatile. I like it ! Decent projection and longevity. Definitely unisex, but I'd rather smell this on a woman.

Well, finally i get this one as gift from my parents. Great bottle, box, everything ok. But i find it similar to ted lapidus for men in a way. so, why parfumers make similar fragrances and so different prices??? Anyway, it's kind of rare fragrance but not so much 3/ 5 stars

This is a pleasant warm weather scent but with common vibe as in many designer's offerings. Turmeric and sub-sweet saffron are the most prominent notes. Moderate performance overall. Totally unisex.

I don't know what I expected after reading reviews ,but for sure not this very average ,shampooish masculine cheap shower gel effect thingy . Bottle is nice .Fragrance is nothing new and nothing innoveting . Way overpriced for something so common . Ps: I discovered I like it a lot when Im tipsy and there's thunder storm outside . Totally diffrent story now. One must always give a few chances to a fragrance ,especially when it's a 100ml. beautiful bottle of the juice in subject

The metallic aspect is emphasized well if that was their intention but it isn't my cup of tea. This is one of those scents that's a bear to describe, so I'll try but may fail anyway. I think this is probably going to throw a lot of people for a loop in the opening because a green note is quite noticeable. At the same time that metallic accord trades paint with a sweet floral-amber overtone. Again, at the SAME time you're going to get the turmeric and saffron as a sort of compound dusty-earthy note. It comes off as more of a chaotic menagerie than a smooth production to me. The green tone dies as time goes on but the rest stays and is fairly linear to my nose until much later when the whole thing mellows, the metallic effects /finally/ fade, and the incense comes to play. At that point I like the scent a lot better but it's no longer detectable unless you stick your nose in it. C'est la vie. I just can't dig it. I can't seem to appreciate metallic notes because they remind me of the unintentional effects created by extremely cheap fragrances. Excellent sillage for several hours though, if you do end up liking it. Edit: I take back my earlier comment about the lasting power. It lingers forever, just as a skin scent.

Spices, Amber, incense? On paper this was stacking up to be a olfactory wet dream for me and as such I couldn't wait to sample it's goodness. Now that I have, the best word to describe it is... Weird! I'm really not a fan at all...I never let it drydown properly due to an erge to get it off my skin as quickly as possible. I wanted to like it so bad too, it's brave and very different it strikes me as be very excentric, extroverted. I can just imagine some hip young fashion conscious french gentleman the kind who would wear a CDG jacket with lots of ruffled fabric on the lapels and arms smelling like this...needless to say not my scene AT ALL! I like saffron but all I get in the opening is awful booziness and spice attack, turmeric galore!!! Maybe I'm not being fair and the drydown is nice but yet again I can't get past the opening, a real shame because CDG do some great fragrances.

Okay, I ordered a sample because I am one of the few people who really loves the smell of turmeric. (For me, turmeric is a happy smell, and reminds me of lettuce and tomatoes in a brightly-lit kitchen, for some reason.) So now that I am wearing 8 88, it seems the saffron far overpowers the turmeric. In fact, I can barely detect the turmeric at all. 8 88 reminds me of greasy, salty potato chips. (Maybe the saffron?) Overall, nothing unpleasant about it, really, but I’m not sure I can get past that greasy chips association. Do you know what it reminds me of? One of those discontinued lotions from Bath & Body Works, Tokyo Lotus & Apple Blossom, which I could only tolerate for a short period of time. Overall, far more feminine than masculine, and I could take it or leave it.

Right so here i am, for the very first ever fragrance review i bought this as a blind buy after reading all the reviews over the internet and guess what .. i can assure you guys in my all senses that this perfume is MY WORST BUY EVER not even one of the worst but indeed THE WORST BUY EVER! this expensive edt smells like OLD BARBAR SHOPS'S CHEAP AFTERSHAVE which is very annoying and aggressively unbearable cheap smelling juice!!! i have never ever smell such bad aftershave ever! and with such a high price tag this EDT IS A RIP OFF from the company and the perfumer whose nose is behind this BAD SMELLING CRAP deserves to be sued!!! DO NO BUY NEVER EVER!!! this shit is way too bad i swear!!

This is such a creepy fragrance... At first, when I smelled it in the perfumery I thought 'Wow, that's something. This may be a perfect scent'. Later, when I tried it on it evolved to be somehow synthetic, in a deeply disturbing way. Do not be deceived, this is not a typical oriental scent. It has sharp, metallic notes, thanks to turmeric and saffron I think. To me, it is not to be worn by a person. 8 88 seems to be a scent of a golden statue, very cold and distant. Maybe it is suitable for days when you want to seem reserved and quite ruthless. I cannot think of any other application for this.

@Houdini4 you hit it spot on! I tried this in Barneys and on paper it smelled good. It was sweet, spicy, and mysterious but now it just smells...WEIRD and metallic!! I had to scrub it off asap! I know this is a very bad review and I try to give a fragrance its fair due but this one just rubbed me the wrong way. It smells like I just covered myself it an oriental/middle eastern spice rack!! Not for me.

I don't know if my sample was mislabeled but I got an effervescent herbal (minty?) note, as well as lavender. The sample I had was decidedly masculine and actually smelled like an old style barber shop, like Clubman (green notes, geranium, lavender and musk) or Rive Gauche (rosemary, star anise,lavender, cloves and geranium, patchouli, guaiac wood and vetiver).

I chose CDG 888 as a gift from my friend on 2008 (if I'm not mistaken) as I felt on someone else and I was crazy about the scent, liked so much and almost dreamt about it (it was new and rare perfume that time)... BUT omg, it was completely different feeling when I got it on me .. I was so much disappointed.. I so much hated the smell.. I decided to put it down for few months as I heard it helps sometimes. BUT I couldn't bear this smell on me even more, I had terrible headache, it was so emotional that it was spoiling my whole day. Few years later, my mother-in-law asked to try my CDG on, and she immediately felt in love with the scent so I gifted her and so loved it that much that she re-purchased. I don't know what is wrong with me :( It's just my advice: Blind-buy rating: 1 Please thumb up if my comment was useful.

Smells like an old lady, do not blind buy. Turmeric, incense, and papyrus just combine to make something like 100 year old soap. unless you want to smell like that avoid this fragrance try some other CDG perfumes this one is often discounted, its not worth it.

ادكلني ادويه اي - گلي مراحل عطر افشاني اين ادكلن ، رايحه هاي جذاب و غير معمولي از رايحه ادويه خاكي و مختصري رايحه فلزي و همچنين رايحه هاي بخور دودي و گلي را به نمايش گذاشته است و تركيب غير معمول گياهي – ادويه اي در شروع و رايحه زيباي گلي در نت مياني ، رايحه اي جذاب و البته كمي پيچيده را خلق كرده است. در شروع ، كمي نت سبز ناشي از پاپيروس و رايحه اي مفرح و خوشمزه از زردچوبه خالص وفلفل در كنار رايحه اي مختصر از زعفران ، به مشام مي رسد كه زيباترين بخش از مراحل عطر افشاني اين ادكلن است. سپس با ملايمتر و دلپذيرتر شدن رايحه ها در نت مياني ، نت زعفران قوي تر شده و مقداري جزئي رايحه معطر گل شمعداني كه حس فلزي بودن را القاء ميكند نيز احساس مي شود و در اين مرحله ، زعفران به خوبي مسيرش را در رايحه فلزي قشنگ ناشي از شمعداني باز ميكند و به سبب وجود بخور كمي حس دودي به خود مي گيرد. در نت آخر رايحه هاي شمعداني و زعفران و بخور ، محو و رايحه عنبري كمي شيرين به همراه ته بويي دودي بخوري را خواهيم داشت. اين ادكلن پس از اسپري كردن كاملا قدرتمند و قوي است ولي به سرعت ملايم ميشود ، بنا براين براي دلزده نشدن از آن ، لازم است در زياد اسپري كردن آن احتياط شود . به عنوان عطري نسبتا گرم ، براي تابستان هاي خيلي گرم مناسب نيست ولي ميتواند در بقيه فصول مورد استفاده قرار بگيرد . ماندگاري خوبي در حدود 8 ساعت و پخش بوي نسبتا خوبي دارد . به عنوان رايحه اي مدرن براي بانوان و آقايان كاملا مناسب است و همچنين براي كساني كه دنبال ادكلني ادويه اي گلي هستند قطعا قابل توجه خواهد بود. اين ادكلن نميتواند سليقه همه افراد را تامين كند و تست آن قبل از خريد توصيه ميشود .

Oh gosh I LOVE this!! I don't like it's projection though :( It opens as a warm spicy deep perfume. But this isn't spicy in the traditional sense. It's almost caramelly. I'ts gorgeous. When I smell it close up it almost smells like it has leather in it, I can also smell what I can only describe as smoke infused vetiver. Usually I'm weary of vetiver but in this it's glorious mingled with the other notes. When it dries slightly the geranium & saffron come out to play and omg...BAM! I'm in love. This is so different from anything I've smelled in a while and it's got me by the short and curlies! I am already doing sums to see if I can afford a bottle... The drier stages see alot of the other notes dissapear into my skin and I'm left with a gentle smoky vetiver scent, but it's faded within 3 hours on me. I even went up to my significant other and said.."Can you still smell this on me?" and he said.."I have to go close but yes I can smell it" To me? that's not good enough for only being on for three hours, I like my scents to project much more. It's worth me buying it though for that beatiful heart when the geranuim and saffron appear...heaven!

On me the opening of this... it smells like kombucha. I feel like I’m just wearing this at the wrong moment maybe? I’ve seen a few people talk about this as a warm weather scent and so I’m going to save my mini bottle for later but... so far I am mostly confused and a little disturbed by this scent. I really love CdG but this one might be too weird for me. It seriously... it smells like a kombucha, kind of fizzy and vinegary without anything to weigh it down at first. It’s almost nice... I can almost get used to it, but then the incense kicks in and it starts reminding me of that Salvador Dali perfume from the ‘80s. It also has something almost salty happening. I think it’s the turmeric? Am I at the co-op? It kind of reminds me of CdG Copper but I cannot for the life of me articulate why because none of those notes are present in Copper. I have no idea if I like it or hate it. There’s a lot happening. Lasting power is decent. Apparently so is projection and silage: my roommate just said I smell like soup from the next room.

I loved this scent for its unusualness but did not commit to buy it on the day I tried it....but I went back the following day. While I am a traditional and classic connoisseur of good perfumes, I love a challenge. This was the one: very interesting scent full of contradictions and tension. Like metal it can be cold and warm at the same time (depending on how and what time of day/ year you wear it), very modern/ architectural, minimalistic yet floral, really strangely pleasant and most certainly luxurious. I think they really hit the nail on the head on how one would interpret the metal gold to smell. I bought it on the day Mariah Carey did her signing in London, so this scent will always remind me of meeting my long-time idol. A modern classic for me, the ultimate feel good hip-hop blinger for a posh night out....like a MIMI RnB video. Very gold, very lush, very festive, VEEERY SEXY.

I find 8 88 to be a very earthy spicy combo. It almost smells a bit sandy. Of course a little synthetic but well-built. I really love the artistic nature of this. I would say it's challenging and mature and doesn't feel like a designer in terms of its uncommon zaniness even though it is. It is not for beginners. Extremely unique and you most likely won't find something that smells like this. On skin its powdery, spicy, tumeric and soapy incense. I find it easy to wear because of the prevailing spicy and soapy cleanliness the profile has when it projects. Something about it makes it seem like it could stay in the minds of those who come into contact with you. In a way it gives me some nostalgia too. I think it can be genderless.

Minty aromatic herbs. Light for an oriental. I'd hesitate to even call it that; it's more a pungent, modernist herbal than an oriental. Very dry, almost woody, like a bouquet of dried medicinal herbs. It's interesting... kind of acrid and sour. I can see this being a turn off for many people. I'm not enamored with it, less because of it's somewhat off-putting notes than with the fact that it just doesn't grab me, although it's pretty unusual which is usually a plus in my book. This is probably my least favorite that I've tried from this house, which I generally adore (of course, it has the best sillage of any CdG I've tried).

"8 88" is indeed a strange fragrance. It starts really heavy and bright on the spices and slowly combines flowers to the mix. I find interesting that vetiver is not listed among the notes because I can really feel its presence during the late drydown. I would go even further and state that "8 88" has something metallic in its composition. "8 88" captures your attention... A strange and seductive golden fragrance by Comme des Garçons. It has modest staying power and sillage (around 5-6 hours on my skin). Different from Paco Rabanne's "One Million", there are no monsters hiding inside this golden bottle.

Weird for sure; it has multiple personalities. It changed from old person and sour to green and clean, to amber, to spicy, and then soup, then incense, then paper, and at last powder. Not sure how I feel about it, considering I don't understand what it is. I can't comprehend how so many aspects are combined into one. It's intriguing in its weirdness, and a little jarring in its abrupt transformations. A little goes a long way, and it is not one that goes unnoticed. I don't see wearing it, but maybe someone else could. Confused yet? Me too, delightfully.

8 88 is a linear scent: after the sharp opening has passed, it stays the same. Metal (aurum!), coriander and saffron are there, but the rest is a mystery. There's no other smell like it. I've been sniffing my hand for three hours now. It's not a welcoming fragrance but not dominant either. It has a quiet sillage. I can't imagine who would want to buy a bottle of this. It's useless / very very niche. 8 88 in one word: Introverted. What a shame.
