#150 of My Fragrance Journey - Comme des Garçons Amazingreen: The bell pepper fragrance nobody asked for and honestly, we needed it First spray and there's no mistaking it - green bell pepper, straight up. Crisp, a bit watery, that faint bitterness, like it's still got dew sitting on it somewhere. Not the usual "fresh" citrus thing everyone does. This is rawer than that. Crushed stems, actual leaves, something that smells alive rather than manufactured to smell alive, if that distinction makes sense. It hits like cold chlorophyll catching a bit of sun - that specific feeling of rain evaporating off warm skin early in the morning. There's something almost vital in it, like the first real day of spring after a long grey stretch, sun actually landing on your arms for once. Give it twenty minutes, and that sharp pepper note eases off, lets ivy leaves, coriander seed, and a creamy orris step in. This part rounds the edges without losing the plot entirely - orris adds a bit of weight to all that wet green, coriander keeps a dry, spicy edge running through it so it never turns powdery. Feels unforced, this transition. Like the fragrance is just doing what it wants rather than following a script. Dry down brings in this grey-green vetiver - not smoky, not earthy really, more just a faint green dryness sitting under a soft white musk that's been left out in the sun a while. Clean, understated, fades out quietly rather than making a thing of it. Notes list gunpowder, flint, smoke apparently, but I genuinely can't pick any of that out on my skin - if it's there, it's more texture than presence. Which, honestly, keeps the whole thing from turning theatrical. Stays green start to finish. Performance's where I have to be honest with you - it's a bit disappointing. That green bubble up front is lovely, properly vivid, but an hour in it's already pulled way back to skin. Longevity's fine, nothing special, and the sillage drops off much sooner than that opening promises. Bit of a letdown given how original the whole thing smells. Still - what it does well, it does really well. It commits to vegetal in a way most green fragrances don't, going straight for bell pepper and leaves and damp stems instead of the usual moss-and-pine shortcut everyone reaches for. Smells like a pepper that's actually been sitting in afternoon sun, genuinely alive in a way that's rare. Not the loudest thing you'll own, not the longest lasting either, but it blurs the line between perfume and actual garden closely enough that people have mistaken it for the real thing on me. Which says something, I think. Vibe: Crushed bell pepper. Cold rain lifting off warm skin. A garden just after the storm's passed. Performance: Vivid and green for the first hour, then it pulls in close to skin fast - moderate longevity, low sillage from there on out. After using the entire 100ml bottle, here’s my take on this fragrance. In the end, it’s essentially a woody vetiver perfume. It opens with an avant-garde, edgy, green, off-the-grid energy—especially in the top notes. But after a few wears, you gradually realise it’s fundamentally a classic, vetiver-centric fragrance. In this review, I want to focus on its non-green side, since the green facets have already been well covered by others. When you wear it, you first get that characteristic green, edgy opening, and that’s likely to become your impression of the scent. And that impression isn’t wrong—it’s just incomplete. As I kept wearing it, what stood out to me was its solid core of soft, almost creamy vetiver. After 1–2 hours, the green top notes mostly fade, and the scent settles into a blend of orris root and vetiver. That, to me, is the quintessence of Amazingreen. It can be easy to miss—partly because of the concept, and partly because the opening is so dominant—but for me, the heart and base last long enough to deserve attention. The way the green notes resolve into a woody, creamy vetiver base gives the fragrance a quiet dignity. Around 2–3 hours in, it no longer has the sharp projection of the opening, but it still projects nicely and wears for a long time. At this stage, it smells like a classic vetiver fragrance, but with a lingering green freshness and a subtle mineral edge. It’s savoury, green, and gentle. This, to me, feels genuinely ‘amazing & green’ —and where it truly earns its name.

LUSH BLIND FIND! I don't get the negative reviews here - I get CDG's ethos - this is classic CDG - slightly quirky and brilliantly done with typical quality - if I guess you are open minded and looking for an entertaining change. As such I own many CDG. I just posted a review of Histoire De Parfum 1828 - I think this will explain it for you: 1828 is an Amazing green smell almost like no other! Or so I thought then I realised its remarkably like one of my faves AMaZINGREEN from Comme Des Garcons. I had do a comparison. I would explain how it smells rather than by the pyramid notes as 1828 - Opening is am in your face Vetiver (eucalyptus/pine), Incense, Cactus, Fern, Green Bell Pepper/Capsicum and spices. The dry down reveals Nutmeg, Cedar, Wood and pungent Green Bell Pepper. Amazing projection and silage - very natural and pretty damn unique - maybe slightly challenging but if you like green it’ll pass for formal or casual use. Beautiful and natural. AMAZINGREEN is weirdly enough a synthetic (in a typical good CDG appeal) version, simplified! It starts with a much sweeter floral open and in the dry down turns to simple sweet sugary pungent green bell pepper/capsicum with gun powder hanging just over the top that as it drys down turn to a bit of a kick. Its that simple! Its like 1828 is a seasoned version of Amazingreen. AMAZINGREEN for men/women 1828 for Men. Both awesome both newbies into my top 20 and smelling them both on my arm I would not do with out both. Happy Smelling!

Whatever I expected from Amazingreen, falling in love immediately after first try wasn't it. Greenery this one portrays is of the softest kind. Plants wetted by summer rain, their big leaves covering the ground so it takes a while for rain to reach soil beneath. There's something sweet also, probably the flavourful bell pepper accompanied by hazelnut (gunpowder and smoke are very subtle but present in background). This ivy is what I wish the one in eau de Lierre by Diptyque was as that one gets too green and bitter for me, here it's balanced much better. I bought discovery set to get introduced to the brand and I'm liking everything so far (Amazingreen being at first place). Bottle design for this collection represents scents within so well you know what you're getting just by looking at them, not important but I appreciate when brands manage that. Amazingreen is like breath of fresh air or sip of cold water early in the morning, energising and calming at the same time. I would even consider getting a full bottle as I don't have anything like this in my collection yet.

This is my everyday perfume as long as I can remeber. It is very very dark, but rather fresh. The build up reminds me of Petrana by Odin maybe because of the coriander. Now the first impression I get is parsley, a splash of parsley. Maybe it's the green pepper together with palm leaves,incredibly green and airy. It's quite linear but overall you can always feel the gunpowder and vetyver that gives it depth and the orris rooth with ivy which powders the whole thing a bit up. There's nothing as green as this! Apsu by Ulrich lang is much sweeter and fruity. Forget it, this is what the most green you can get out there! In my opinion if you like this you could try Naomi Goodsir La nuit de Bakelitè to have something very green for the winter. I feel Amazingreen much more summery, even though you could use it all day round. Pity (it's true) won't last long. I get 5 hours on the skin and a moderate trail for 2-3 hours. I mean, I actually don't care about it because it's so good I'll spray it twice ;)

Many claim Amazingreen does not keep its namesake, yet I believe it is nevertheless a distinctive, refreshing, and calming scent that encapsulates Eastertide. The fragrance holds the tension of the transition from life to death and back to life. Balancing green accords with the scent of gun powder and the presence of lush ivy alongside the house's trademark incense note back to sweetened vegetable notes (e.g. per Scent and Soul's watermelon rind, green pepper, and celery). A perfect scent for the beginning of spring and your journey with Comme des Garçons as a house (contra Kristo's sagely review). Amazingreen may not be representative of the house as a whole, but it is a way to get into the house. As Weezer said, if you want to unwind a sweater, hold a thread, and walk away––you will unravel the complexity and nuances of this amazing brand.

One of my absolute favorite green fragrances (which says a lot as green frags are my fav). On me I don't get a whole lot of smoke anywhere, which I am perfectly fine with, and most of the flint and gunpowder is right in the opening, settling into a smoother background of orris, musk, and vetiver. I don't get a whole lot of hazelnut anywhere, but the coriander comes through as something earthy and almost peppery underneath a blanket of jungle-y green foliage. It's a different, darker approach to green scents, more like snapping vines and crushing leaves in a dense forest than rolling down a grassy hillside. If you've ever thought to yourself "I wish I could bottle the smell of taking houseplant cuttings", this might just be your thing. It certainly is mine. 10/10.

Nose Note #345 "Old school mens cologne rendition but modernized" - oh yes. Spot on. The opening is especially manly. When I looked at Fragrantica I was so surprised that most people find this unisex?! A purely mens perfume and just in the way I like them the most. Green, herbal, woody, and with vetiver. The opening is definately reminicent of green pepper, but then it transforms into something "modernized", which is still good. If you go through a rack store, you'll find stuff like Antonio Banderas, Replay, Ungaro - they all offer something similar to this, but still Amazingreen is noticebly different, it has some extra level of maturity both in age and thought to it. My only issue with it is that it has practically no sillage. Performance is average.

I really like this but definitely not for everyone. It's primarily a fresh, green scent but has a synthetic, ozonic twinge to it. It smells to me like you shoved your head into a bunch of foliage after a thunderstorm. Leans masculine but I think it's wearable for everyone. Some reviews mention an aftershave quality, which I don't think is inaccurate but that can be nice sometimes. I think the gunpowder doesn't read as much on some people which causes the shower gel/aftershave vibes. I wear this a lot when I'm outdoors in the summer. It has a penetratingly fresh scent and I personally find it refreshing on a hot day when I'm sitting on a patio or meeting someone at the park for a walk.

This is sitting at my favorite fragrance ever at the moment. It's fresh, invigorating, vegetal, clean. For me it's the quintessential green fragrance. It has one of those scents that is hard to put into words. I get that there's vetiver there but it's just taken in a different direction than a lot of other vetiver scents I've tried that to me smell like old people's homes. The gunpowder/smoke notes somehow don't make this feel dirty or heavy but act almost like aromatic spices. Something that comes to mind are southeast Asian agar-based jellied coconut pandan treats. Something about the texture of those reminds me of the smell of this scent.

IMO this is the easiest CDG perfume to understand, uncomplicated yet multidimensional, simple yet sophisticated, fresh yet still elegant. This is one of my love at first sniff, yes it is an extremely green scent but not overwhelmed, some notes made AMAZINGGREEN a special green fragrance tactically, maybe flint or gunpowder I not so sure but the result is so fresh, calm and beautiful. You can imagine wandering in a lush green field with long blades of grass covered with dew in the morning with cloudy sky and fogy. I always wear this on summer for uplifting my mood and remind me of that scene.

What an amazing fragrance! It is challenging, and it will even challenge your interpretation of what a "green" fragrance can be. This uses very different ingredients and accords that will give it an illusive smell that has grown on me over the years. Not sure about all the notes listed by fragrantica but i do know there is pine and gun smoke so I prefer this in the cold and to be rather predictable - December. That time of year is usually when we are in gourmand, sweet, and amber season but this green scent will be a nice change-up. It is indeed rather linear but good and unique. 4/5

In Atlanta Georgia, during the spring, the tea olive trees bloom everywhere and they fill the evening spring air with a beautiful light green fragrance that drifts on the breeze. Everytime I walk past a blooming tea olive tree, I think of this amazing green scent. I am surprised there is not more love for this scent. This scent is a true to life green spring scent. The only draw back is that there is not a lot of sillage and it doesnt last long. I think that is the criticism of all the comme de garcons scents. Still its hard for me to not love AmazingGreen and Wonderwood.

Amazingreen is a great hot weather day fragrance, with a relatively soft projection and a medium duration on my skin (it's winter, though). It initially smells like a salad or crushed leaves, and I enjoy the green pepper accord very much. After the initial phase, though, the scent changes dramatically to flintstone. This mineral accord mixes with the greenness to create something that reminds me of dense, tropical foliage by a waterfall. It stays there for the rest of its duration and makes me think of a more unisex and damp version of Terre d'Hermès. 9/10

an amazing perfume, cdg's perfumes are somehow very long lasting on my skin. the best part about amazingreen would be it goes great with layered scenting as the base scent. some favorite combos i've heard have been with yves rocher's comme un evidence, and joop! pour homme's aftershave. also goes great with leathers. it is a sulking and depressed scent that gives bad situationship but it is my daily driver and i adore it on clothes it stays quite long but not in a pleasant way especially after layering, so any cloth you sprayed has to be washed for me.

My favorite green fragrance to date, but I wish the performance wasn't so horrible. I love the fragrance itself to death, but I could literally bathe myself in this and it would still probably die down into a skin scent in just a few hours. Does decent in the heat, and I'm sure any amount of coolness would kill it entirely. I'm quickly learning that this is more of a "me time" scent, because I'll be the only one smelling it throughout my day. I'll be reaching for this when I don't want to project loudly or make any kind of statements with my smell.

CDG have successfully demonstrated that with creativity and thought, a scent with a strong aquatic accord can smell great and refrain from resembling every other aquatic. Amazingreen starts with an intense aquatic opening. This is followed by a very intense presence of ivy. Imagine the scent you get when you are trimming your garden bushes. The dry down is musky and there are notes of gunpowder. It is better suited to spring and summer but could go also go down very well on a sunny autumn day. A safe and pleasant offering from CDG.

Green, aquatic, fresh, masculine-leaning, unisex scent. Very wearable for my skin and clothes, not as weird as I thought CDG would be. I definitely get the palm trees and green peppers at the opening. On my clothes, it appears to be more laundry-fresh and aquatic. I do get a little bit of the "fireworks" or "gun accord" but it is not smokey or heavy the way I thought. It adds a slight edge to the scent, very sexy.. I'd love to wear this sometime when I'm feeling tough and cool (as a woman) or give it to my fiance to wear.

This is lovely! I sampled it once a couple months ago and came back to it today, and I was happy to find that it wasn't as strong as I remember it. It's actually sweeter and softer than what my memory told me. It's true, it does smell a bit like toothpaste — but it's so inviting and warm somehow that it doesn't actually feel pharmaceutical or hygienic. I think the incense and musk save it from that — it's quite dimensional. Deep, watery, sweet, green. Going full bottle!

I just love this! As a lover of greens, and intrigued by the green pepper note, I was drawn to try this. Love from first spray - the fresh green, the light and airy vibe, a hint of softness, and the tiniest amount of depth from the gunpowder, smoke and musk. I’m delighted that this isn’t heavy with base notes and there’s barely a musky drydown which is just too common. Green pepper is front and centre in all its glory. The downside is that this doesn’t last long enough.

I think peoples' opinions about this frag are skewed by their perception that it should smell "green". On my (greasy, olive!) skin, the basenotes emerge really quickly and I get a powerful, almost creamy musk, coriander and incense experience with incredible sillage and longevity. On me this almost smells like an oriental, albeit tempered slightly by the leaves in this. I absolutely love this fragrance, but wonder if it's most suited to guys with skin like mine.

I just love this. There's nothing I've smelled in my life that made me crazy about it. This is the only smell that I'm in love with. My signature/ Go To smell. I just wish it had better performance so that others would appreciate this amazing scent. Too good to be real. If anyone knows any similar fragrances, I mean really similar, then please mention it down ! I'd be very very thankful.

rly rlly enjoyed this one !! im very into green scents and so this was rlly up my alley, easy pleaser foe green lovers and honestly kept getting whiffs of it throughout the day which was unexpected cuz its quite fresh and the projection of those are pretty short but this was quite long for me personally! the sillage might not be that strong but i would buy it

I blind ordered this scent and it really grew on me. Really unique and complex, fresh and mysterious, the only downside is the longevity. Perfect for a rainy spring day. I have had it for 6 years and it gradually got weaker and somewhat more smoky. At first I preferred Wonderwood, but now I think this is just as good, it even got more compliments.

Got a house sample free in the mail. Low sillage and low staying power. Smells a lot like tom ford costa Azzuria, but with less driftwood and a little more green. That said, it is a very pleasant scent. I would wear this to the office or fragrance free events. Just expect cologne performance out of it and you will be happy. It is nice.

I completely echo @Maddyrain's review I was expecting something uber green from this and instead the generic fresh, aquatic I've smelled before. However, It's a very nice smelling scent and an inoffensive alternative to the mainstays of Hugo Boss, Calvin Klein and the like for roughly the same price so why not get this? It's not bad.

For me it has 3 phases but very straight. It "develops" very fast. First, a herbal tang. Second, a few minutes, the smell of men's cologne generic, and third, an intense smell of church incense. With all that, like my husband did not put anything hard, I like to use low gourmand perfume and incense gives them depth.

I love this scent. Green but different. Not odd just not your typical flowery green. I know it’s the gunpowder scent that takes this to a different level. It’s not something that’s harsh or like WHOA! Gunpowder! More of a leafy green with a little more. Very nice. It’s a love from me.

This smells like a really nice succulent plant covered in beads of dew with a hint of pepper to make it a clean, airy, slightly masculine scent. Really love it, well crafted, not much to say, not much of a green fragrance fan but this is one of my favourite blind buys. 9/10.

Very polite and safe, but somehow very unique too, I really love how the nuttiness balances out the vegetable greenery. I feel it's also very versatile, any situation goes. This is a good addition to my wardrobe, as I can't always wear exquisite beast-mode screamers.

I got to try it on my skin in the store today and this smells amazing during the opening but as it dries down it started to smell more like typical mens designer fragrances. Still smells nice though. It is a safe green refreshing scent.

Amazingreen is a very casual fragrance. Grassy, earthy, watery and sharp. Perfect to wear during hot summer days AND nights. I am taking it on my cruise this year. It's not an amazing fragrance BUT it's not terrible either.

This might be one of the most unique, pleasant, and mass appealing scents I’ve ever experienced. It is slightly green a little sweet and just exceptional and addicting. Might be one of my favorites of all time

I loved it . Its kinda like toothpaste but very fresh and unique yes unique doesnt smell the best or the most pleasant but i loved it by the way its not synthetic smells somehow natural and good ingredients

This is an iconic CDG fragrance. I recognize it on anyone immediately, and they do for me too. It’s ... amazing. It’s sweet but not, spicy but not. Just enough green pepper. One of my absolute favorites.

I still love it, its green and pretty and reminds me of crushed leaves in the summer. The generic greens can't and wont do this type of green. Just because its simple for once doesnt mean its bad.

This is my absolute favorite fragrance. If anyone knows anything that smells exactly like this, but has performance, please share it with me.

Comme des Garçons – Amazingreen Bu markayı gerçekten seviyorum. Sanatsal yaklaşımı, sıra dışı kompozisyonları ve deneysel tarafı her zaman ilgimi çekmiştir. Amazingreen’in notalarını ilk gördüğümde de aynı heyecanı yaşadım: sarmaşık, yeşil biber ve özellikle barut... Kağıt üzerinde oldukça karakterli, karanlık ve farklı bir deneyim vaat ediyordu. Fakat tenimde bambaşka bir tablo ortaya çıktı. Özellikle “barut” notasının neredeyse hiç hissedilmemesi büyük bir hayal kırıklığı oldu. Sanki sadece dikkat çekmek için yazılmış bir nota gibi duruyor. Beklediğim o metalik, yanık ve patlayıcı atmosfer yerine oldukça düz, yeşil ve içi boş bir karakter aldım. Sarmaşık ve yeşil biber akoru da düşündüğüm kadar yaratıcı işlenmemiş. Potansiyeli olan fikirlerin yüzeysel bırakıldığı hissini veriyor. Oysa Comme des Garçons gibi bir markadan çok daha cesur ve derinlikli bir yorum bekliyordum. Şu an bu parfüm bende, yazın ilk günlerinde hızlıca tüketip bitirmek isteyeceğim bir koku hissi uyandırıyor. Büyük beklentiyle yaklaşılmış ama karşılığında güçlü bir iz bırakamamış bir deneyim oldu benim için. Ne yazık ki tam anlamıyla bir hayal kırıklığı. . . . Comme des Garçons – Amazingreen I truly love this brand. Their artistic vision, experimental style, and unconventional structures have always impressed me. When I first looked at the notes of Amazingreen, I was genuinely excited: ivy, green pepper, and especially gunpowder. On paper, it sounded dark, edgy, and incredibly unique. But on my skin, the experience turned out completely different. The so-called “gunpowder” note is practically nonexistent. It honestly feels like it was mentioned only to make the fragrance sound more interesting. Instead of the metallic, burnt, explosive atmosphere I expected, I got a very flat and hollow green scent. Even the ivy and green pepper accord feels underdeveloped. The ideas behind the composition had great potential, but everything comes across as superficial and unfinished. From a house like Comme des Garçons, I expected something far more daring and atmospheric. At this point, this feels like the kind of fragrance I’ll try to finish quickly during the first days of summer just to empty the bottle. I approached it with huge expectations, but unfortunately it left almost no emotional impact on me. A real disappointment. 10/6.5

As a lover of green scents, I was keen to try Amazingreen, given its name and concept. This is not the forest-like galbanum bomb I had hoped for - instead, it is a clean, aquatic, vegetal take on a green scent, more sap-like than leafy. Like the other Comme des Garçons scents, this is unusual yet wearable, and quite androgynous. Amazingreen opens with a photorealistic green pepper note, dewy and fresh. It becomes more leafy as it develops, but remains sheer and aquatic, if slightly more full-bodied. Some peppery spice adds an aromatic edge, but is very subtle. As it progresses, a grassy undertone comes to the fore. It becomes increasingly dry as it develops, thanks to the smoky undertone, which makes for an interesting counterpoint to the greenness. I get a mineralic edge, likely due to the flint or gunpowder note, but it is very subtle. Dry vetiver emerges as it dries down, woody and grassy - a seamless development from the grassiness of the early phase. It fades to a musky skin scent. Sillage is intimate and longevity is moderate. It is a unisex warm weather scent, but feels tailor-made for springtime in my opinion. Pleasant and refreshing as well as creative, Amazingreen is very much in keeping with CDG's singular style. Sheer verdant freshness with a little bite. 4/5.

Wearing this again today, from my partners bottle, I'm wondering why I ever gave it away... I'm amazed no one has noticed the distinct similarities, in aura and aroma, to the Jardin series done by JC Ellena for Hérmes. Not carbon copy, per se, but the same ambience and light lingering vegetal feeling to it. I will amend my review upon reaching the dry down and report back. Suffice it to say if you own even one Jardin, and monetary issues are a consideration, sniff this and wear it fully before deciding. If you aren't fettered by financial constraints (or a rabid decant collector like myself) its worth having if plush green ephemeral scents ring your bell... If you're looking for a well made still affordable niche fragrance this will do just fine. Better than most designer masstiege releases yet not quite as compelling as other more complex or costly luxe and indie perfumes. Sillage is soft to moderate and longevity is moderate to good, so great casual scent but still has some depth and style to it. It's no 8:88 silver words or wonderwood but its no slouch either. Smell swell & be well...

Opens with a blast of lime, even though its not in the list of notes. Quickly turns to green leaves with a touch of coriander in the background. This list of notes that this one contains are rather unconventional, and I'm not able to distinguish 'jungle leaves' from 'ivy leaves', or 'palm tree leaves', and dew mist? Hmm. Although the scent is very green and there is a freshness reminiscent of ozone. Maybe that is what they call 'dew mist'. There is a very nice vetiver inside, as well as a crispy snappy fresh green pepper. The smoke shows up later, offering a little depth to the light refreshing greenness, but on my skin the smoke is always very subtle. Feels cool on the skin, and doesn't really project at all. While wearing it, it sometimes disappears, only to come back later when it feels like it. After 4 hours, it is entirely absent on my skin. I find myself frequently wishing for more longevity and projection from the awesome scents CDG has to offer.

The really "amazing" part of this green doesn't last very long at all - it's that bitter, fresh hit of plants crushed underfoot as you stumble through an unkempt garden, and it's genuinely exciting, and then it's just... gone. The main body of the fragrance is still likeable, but it's nothing interesting. Sticking with the theme and describing it in terms of green, it's like the blue-green water of an outdoor swimming pool in the sun. This is also the kind of scent I've smelled countless variations of on men passing by in the street this summer, though, which makes that initial deep viridian of the opening feel all the more maddeningly fleeting. When I wear it I find myself reapplying a bit of Amazingreen every other hour just to be able to experience that opening again - which is safer than it sounds, because I find it doesn't project nearly as much as the other summer scents it smells like. It's green all right, but amazing only for an instant.

This is a fine juice, well-blended, a summer crowd-pleaser. It is as green as it gets. Yet, I expected more, as this can easily be labeled as 'too safe' or 'characterless' fragrance - not something that bodes well with Comme Des Garçons. Firstly there is a somewhat aquatic opening with some, to me, unfamiliar leaves and herbs. With the time the scent becomes more green, adding green pepper and ivy leaves, and losing that aquatic note it had at first. The base is still greenish with loads of vetiver and metallic vibe - I guess that's the gunpowder note - and, while i love vetiver most of the times, this one just doesn't cut it. With solid sillage and longevity(especially for a summer fragrance I believe this one is), I cannot say anything bad about the quality of perfume itself. Still, the scent is nothing more than decent, and, certainly, not CdG-worthy. Given that, I'd give it 6.5/10

I like this. It reminds me somewhat of Monstera by Xinú, minus the florals, plus a slight mineral smokiness. Even though it’s not a listed note, I feel there there is something a bit piney about this. Maybe it’s green + coriander + whatever is the gunpowder accord here. I think it does smell a little like gunpowder, but it’s very understated; it really just lends a lukewarm spice to this scent. I don’t get the hazelnut until some of the more strident notes calm down a bit, but it’s there, softly in the base. I can see why some are comparing it to men’s shower gel, but I think my nose is separating out the notes too much for it to meld into that. I can certainly see that it could, though. Pleasant, skews masculine, all the normal complaints about longevity for green fragrances. It’s nice, but not as sexy as the notes would lead you to believe. 7.5/10.
