Comme des Garcons Series 1 Leaves: Lily

Oh I love Lily! She's a green beauty for sure. She starts off a little rough though. It's almost like the notes meet in a chemical cloud and then decide where each one is going.As they are dispursed to their assigned positions things change quickly.It immediately settles into the softest most feminine scent. Beautiful , green, lily of the Valley shines in this. It's as if springtime has landed on your spirit. She leaves a very light trail behind you and surrounds you in an otherwordly lily. I have never worn this and not gotten a compliment. I have never worn this and not felt beautiful. She's straight forward like me. She is what she is~and WOW is she good at it! If you are a fan of Lily of the valley~you owe it to yourself to give this sparkling girl a try.

I get only lily of the valley from this - but it's a beautiful fresh and green lov. However, I have many good lov renditions in my collection and I don't know if I like it enough to pay the price for a FB. Really is beautiful though, reminds me of Annick Goutal's Muguet.

A genuine and beautiful LOTV fragrance! LOTV is one of my favorite flowers. I strongly associate them with the first warm days of spring, and their ephemerality makes me covet the scent that much more. CdG Lily is lovely. To my nose, almost pure LOTV, slightly powdery. I don't get much, if any, of the other notes coming through. My only criticism is that it could benefit from a greener element to cut the powder note down a bit (though the powder note is not unpleasant at all.) I only have a sample of this. At its price point, not sure I'd want to commit to a whole bottle, not because I don't like it, but because it's not complex enough to be one of my everyday scents, and doesn't change too much on the drydown. It's a bold, assertive soliflore LOTV. This is for those days when I wake up thinking "I absolutely must smell like lily-of-the-valley today" - it happens!

A green, stemmmy, dewy, clean muguet. A muguet soliflore, not so much a bouquet (and not resembling any oriental lily), though it does gradually become less green and more sudsy and floral as it dries down. There is a faint hint of Fairy liquid - of all things - in the drydown, but it's not a bad note in this context. Comparing it to other muguet fragrances, it's more streamlined than Diorissimo, less fruity-floral than Muguet Porcelaine, less powdery than the Guerlain, and less harsh than Carillon Pour Un Ange, and feels probably the greenest of all the muguets I've sampled, without having any extra green notes like galbanum, mint, or pine. CdG Lily is my latest attempt to replace my all-time favorite fragrance, Antonia's Flowers, which I wore for 30+ years until its demise. I don't think anything will ever replace it... sigh... but this one comes the closest I've found so far. It has the (paradoxically) sharp-sweet quality of AF, and it lingers beautifully on fabrics (handkerchiefs, nightgown, etc.) It also does NOT have the chemical "aftertaste" that most fragrances I've tried leave behind in the back of your throat/nose. __________ WAAAAH!! Update: just went to Lucky Scent to buy another bottle and it's ALL SOLD OUT - NOT AVAILABLE! History is repeating itself...[sob... 😭]

I expected "lily," but was surprised to find lily of the valley instead; however, I don't think of it as a true soliflore like Guerlain's Muguet because of the yellow-tinted freesia, which reminds me of Byredo's Inflorescence.

A green indolic lily. Lily is one of my favourite notes because of the soapiness- I don't get the soap in this one unfortunately, just a big bunch of flowers freshly cut from the garden. The opening is very strong and then it dries down very quickly and sits close to the skin. The drydown reminds me of a drugstore aquatic body spray- performance could definitely use improvement.

I'm a guy, who was looking for one great floral soliflore. This is the one. My mother was a florist, and asked me to help her pick lily of the valley for her bridal bouquets. It has all ways been my favorite floral, along with gardinia. The Bible speaks highly of the lillies, as representing eternal life, in the book "Song of Solomon". The short opening blast, is very fresh and authentic Lilly of the valley. Then I get a crisp green apple, freshly cut. It is green, tart, slightly sweet, slightly fruity. This green tartness stays with the Lilly, and keeps it gender neutral. It's not very fruity at all really. I just get the impression of a green apple. There is also a stemmy greenes that is coming from the rose bud note. It reminds me of the green rose buds in Diptyque's L'Ombre Dans L'Eau. Lilly of the valley is the main note. But there are a lot of subtleties going on, that make it beautiful and enjoyable. The dry-down is very unique and interesting. It's hard to describe, as I am not a floral fragrance aficionado. The flowers, Lilly, get more indolic in phases, it's a lush and fresh scent. It's very natural and realistic, but it's not boring or linier at all. It seems to be well composed, high quality lily of the valley fragrance. I don't like wearing feminine frags. I had purchased "Gardinia Leaves", looking for a great gardinia. But it felt too feminine after a while, and I gave it away to a friend. What I was hoping for with this, is that it would be authentic and natural, without getting girly; it's going to work perfectly for me. With Spring in the air, I will look forward to the weather breaking warmer and wearing Lily. Rating 8/10 God bless. John 3:16

Came to purchase this because I was incredibly disappointed in the performance of the Penhaligon Lily of The Valley. Imagine that— an LOTV fragrance with great sillage!! Lacks the delicious green apple and lemon combo note of Penhaligon but still an incredible lily of the valley— and basically Penhaligon without those added notes. ...It’s far less of a rip off too! $100 less than Penhaligon and at that under $150 price range! If there was a way for me to open up my Penhaligon bottle I would swap and mix it with this juice anytime! At the price of one Fleurissimo (holy grail white floral perfume of all time but still incredibly overpriced), you can get both this and the Penhaligon too. Mix both, get “beast mode” LOTV. Worth it! UPDATE 2021: This is a good Lily Of The Valley but wait till you try 51 Essence by Roja Dove, Hermessence's Muguet Porcelaine, or my favourite of all time: DSH's Divine Gardens!

Very green fresh realistic LoTV, the leaves are definitely there which is pretty much how it is in real life, undertone of soapy rose. Lovely and spring-y. The heavier florals come out a little in the middle - softer and warmer. Once it’s gone it’s gone, there isn’t a ton of dry down - just a sort of soft warm almost vanilla skin scent. I like this, I don’t know if I like it as much as diorissimo

This one was a disappointment for me. It starts so synthetic that it seems air freshener. I love green fragances but I want them to feel "natural", to make me think of mountains, valleys and streams. Comme des Garçons Lily doesn't conjure all that for me. It's almost a soliflore, very linear and man-made. I generally love Comme des Garçons scents but this one didn't work for me.

This is clean and modern muguet scent. It differs from Diorissimo as it is not as warm, full or naturalistic. There is a lot of freesia in this but it is definitely a very linear lily of the valley scent. I find this has better sillage than Calamus but it's not as unique. Perfect for spring as it's bright, dewy and exciting.

Delightful, straight-forward floral. Very real and full-bodied, this smells like something in between of lily-of-the-valley, freesia and even white lily. Not too sweet, I barely smell rose here. The fragrance feels pure and even innocent. Perfect choice for the late spring - early summer fragrance.

This is a very thick, viscous floral- the fluid itself is very oily, and I think you'd have to be careful not to spray this directly on fabric. To me, this is more Oriental lily than muguet, and actually, the rose, freesia and lilac are the predominant notes-

Greener than green, cleaner than clean lily. Not spicy or funerary, but fresh and uplifting. No cynicism or droll conceptualism here.

First impression: Ivory soap original. Anyone?
