Comme des Garcons Series 7 Sweet: Nomad Tea

Ah, this is mint and tea-lovers dream! Which is exactly why I dared to buy it blind... and boy, does this Not disappoint! :) It arrived (in new bottle, thats the only sad aspect) this morning, so I tried carefully at first on wrist and within 5 min had already doused myself in number of sprays in not only happy relief but in obsessive enjoyment :) Awesome sugary mint tea, just glorious - with beautifully harmonised but notable artemisia/warmwood note that adds absinth-like touch to mint. Therefore mint accord here becomes multifaceted, there is no toothpaste or menthol mouthwash reference. Minty radiance is natural and manages to balance perfectly fresh punch of wild mint herbs at my parents' garden, greenness of fresh artemisia and slight ambery boozy cough syrup note. Its a comfort in a bottle and the tea here is like natural maroccan mint tea with semi-melted sugar cube adding sweetness whilst still being unisex wear... Its a fresh scent, yet captures the warmth of the hot tea (so rare in majority of the tea scents that lean citrusy and cool). But Nomad Tea I can see wearable year around and really giving a sensation of having a comforting aromatic hot drink. Although there is a notable velvet feel, I smell no geranium per se, just a bit of rosey freshness... the base is a little bit sweet amber on me, not woody, also not dense. And performance is actually decent (4 hours) for smth I expected to be pretty much cologne strength, it also sticks well to clothes... Massive immediate love, I can see myself wearing it often and with joy! :)

One of my top-5 fragrances and #1 in the herbal-aromatic genre (which is under-saturated due to the same irrational preferences that make customers reject Jagermeister). It is also my favorite CdG fragrance. I'm so happy it hasn't been discontinued. I gave it away once after it became a sensory anchor of a very stressful event that happened to me when I was wearing it, but then couldn't resist and bought it again. It is so complex and so unusual. It is very hard to not cross the line between a minty kick in a fragrance and a bitter mint overload that makes it smell like a cough mixture, and when this balance is maintained, the fragrance becomes magical. It smells so-so natural to me and has so many facets. It's bitter-sweet, and just a little bit sour (but not enough to become syrupy). The medicinal opening makes it slightly boozy (just one or two drops of alcohol, but the herbs do the rest and still give you wings). The herbal aspect is more of a dry camomile infusion that stayed in a teapot for days. The sweetness is transparent and clean, just like when you add sugar rather than honey or caramel. You do get a feeling of dark night, warm wind, a lot of space, and the anticipation of something unforgettable. It is just otherworldly.

Nomad Tea is such a unique, lovely tea fragrance. It smells just like the mint tea I often drank when I was in Tunisia, that is also served in some hookah cafés and middle eastern restaurants. A green tea based brew with lots of fresh mint and sugar added. This tea is not comparable to the bagged mint tea sold in supermarkets, just like Nomad Tea is not comparable to generic green tea fragrances. Nomad Tea also has a hint of smokey notes, and when it dries down, the geranium becomes noticeable and the sugariness calms down. So it doesn't smell like a boring novelty scent, but like a refreshing, mint-tea inspired perfume. I had an older sample of this which I emptied for this review and I'm happy to see they reissued this. I liked the old bottle better, but if the scent in the new one is the same, it doesn't matter.

A simple, pleasant, sweet, and fresh mix of green tea and mint. A few hints of citrus and green around the edges, but the feeling here is minimalist, clean, and transparent. If you're familiar with the mint tea served in much of the middle east, it's quite similar in smell. The mint is green and living rather than candied. For something so fresh, this lasts quite well on me. I could see reaching for it a lot in hot weather. It's noteworthy this and Philtre Ceylan are uncannily alike. I think Ceylan might be the slightly stronger, less fresh version, but I'd have a hard time telling them apart on a casual sniff.

Crisp sweet mint tea. It is sweet, but not cloying. I wish it lasted longer but it’s perfect for work since it’s not a heavy scent. This is exactly what I was looking for in a mint and tea scent. I got samples of Chasing Scents Rain Tea and Tea Service and OneDay’s Osmanthus Tea at the same time. I liked Rain Tea but it was much more floral and warm. I thought Tea Service was too spicy. Osmanthus Tea was a really nice white floral. I kept going back to the sweet simplicity of Nomad Tea. I liked that it’s a cold clean scent.

Beautiful naturally smelling mint tea with a spoon of wildflower honey. Refreshing and delicious at the same time. It smells like something that can instantly cheer you up. Lovely scent! Follow me on IG: scent.guide

Slightly sugared mint tea with a slice of lemon. Great longevity - would recommend sampling.

this is drinking a cup of fresh mint tea that has gone cold while you sit outside in the woods after it has rained, and the the wood on the trees is damp, and the sun starts peaking out thru the clouds. It’s such a charming scent, and very comforting. the beginning of the fragrance is straight up mint and green tea, but the mint isn't sour, it's more herbal thanks to the artemisia. the artemisia really greens out the mint which adds that added layer of realism to the tea note. the sugar in this isn't sickly sweet, it's actually much needed in order to sort of round out the scent to give it some depth. the wood and sugar work well together as an undertone for the whole fragrance. once the fragrance fully dries down, the geranium becomes more apparent, but it isn't loud. the geranium just sort of adds a slight floral element to the whole green aspect. its a very calm and cool fragrance, almost meditative even. this smells so good, and perfect for a crisp windy spring day. inoffensive and unisex

Most realistic tea fragrance.. yummy. Smells like extra sweet black tea w/ bergamot. Not sensing any mint really. Unisex. I would lick a woman up (like a thirsty dog) who smells like this 😋💦! There is a touch of greenery lurking that has a slight herbal dank’ness.. almost like a cannabis-geranium 🤔. Guessing it’s the artemisia mixing. A tad too much sugar for my liking. Needs more mint & less sugar.

The artemisia is too heavy in the opening for me, but this perfume comes to life and shines in the dry down. Once the bitterness of the artemisia has subsided, this is an easy to wear, sweet tea scent with a sprig of fresh mint. It’s green, citrusy and natural— a “day at the spa” quality. Perfect for hot weather and wearing to bed.

Smells like gummy bear tea if such a thing exist. As a man, i cant see myself wearing this and i usually prefer unisex fragrances

Smells exactly like hot brewing tea with sugar and mint! The top notes even convey the effect of steam rising from your cup with that extra potent whiff of tea when you check the strength of the brew. And somehow they captured the sugar that adds sweetness, with a sprig of mint. It's like an afterimage of the taste. NT is part of CdG's Olfactory Library, so their intent was to reproduce a photorealistic tea and they succeeded. Their inspiration of an itinerant philosopher, perpetuating tradition offering tea to guests is expressive of its timeless appeal. I love tea scents, with their aromatic clean aroma, and garnished sweet tea is always a treat! Sillage and longevity moderate.

the initial smell is fresh and a little citrusy, its a bit more green than id generally like. i can certainly detect mint, and its overall very nice and light, not overly spicy. the dry-down, however, is wonderful. it settles warmly to an almost syrupy scent, much sweeter than at first, but not offensively so. the freshness remains, but it descends into the lingering pleasantness of the sugary base. im not super familiar with perfumes, but this was a really lovely introduction.

This is a beautiful perfume, definitely bottle worthy! Reminds me of a nice cozy cup of tea on a rainy day. It is sweet, minty, fresh and clean. If you love a tea note especially a green tea you will love this. I just cannot stop sniffing myself. I have gotten so many compliments. There was a time that CdG made beautifull and priginal scents with normal prices, easy accesible and fun. Although i don;t fall for very sweet scents i Liked almost all of the Series 7 . And of course i cherished Nomad tea. This fantastic marriage of herbal bitter artemisia, green tea and shining woody background. maybe my favorite tea scent.

This one didn't work for me. It definitely is a tea scent, but it went on with an additional nicotine smoke note and the mint edge only made it weird and jarring. Dry down was better, but the smoke note has a plastic edge in stages, which make it seem screamingly synthetic. My chem and this scent aren't friends, I guess. Pass.

I loved the pop of mint at the top! and then the tea with sugar settled in. A gorgeous lazy Sunday afternoon. Sitting in an adirondack under a giant willow tree. Sipping sweet mint tea from my favorite floral English porcelain tea cup. I wish it had lasted a bit longer on my skin I am a fan of CdG and tea scents!

The opening is heavy on mint. Combined with sugar, it reminds me of toothpaste. Although it settles down with the tea being the dominant note, it’s difficult to “unsmell” the toothpaste once I notice it. Also, the new bottle is very ugly imo.
