Grace

This is my most floral fragrance. Unusual for me as they aren’t normally my taste. I’ve had it a few years and need a backup as I’m almost done. I bought this when I bought Serpentine (and also love that) - seeking fresher more summery scents. I have found it beautiful and relaxing. It does have great sillage and longevity despite being so fresh. It’s one of my scents I’ve had complimented at work by my male colleagues - as being lovely and fresh and by my then beau as being gorgeous. Followed by some deep and appreciative inhales (a pleasant surprise) 😁. Grace is a keeper. I wear all my scent for me and am not worried about being complimented, though it’s lovely if you are. Lovely herbally freshness and a little spice with that lovely dewy rose rising out of it ❤️

Sometimes, you just want a simple and pretty fragrance, and this is one of them. Grace opens with an herbaceous pink rose. I can smell the mint and basil in this, which makes it a bit more interesting than your standard pink rose. After a while, the herbs fade and you're left with the rose and some musk. I'm not picking up on any "amber" here. The musk isn't that strong, but the result is something that smells like expensive shampoo. It reminds me of Chloe, and although they aren't identical, there's enough similarity here that I might do a double take if I smelled this on someone. Unlike Chloe though, the shampoo-ish note doesn't irritate me nearly as much. The pink rose is still largely predominant throughout its wear.

I really love this. It's another beautiful rose that I fell for right away... It greets you with alot of green...generous doses of mint and basil and floral fresh freesia. After that is when it develops into a deep love for me. Mint and basil step aside to expose the most beautiful rose unfurling tinged with a bit of spice and a breath of mint....what a lovely composition! A little later woods and musk join the party and a wonderful touch of powder. This gives me the impression of being at a luxury spa full of misty pink roses surrounded by alot of greens and freshly cut mint leaves. A very whimsical rose scent that send me off to fairy dreams...I really love the rose/mint combination...beautiful

I really do like this one, but I just can't get it to last- even on hair or clothes, so I probably won't re-purchase< / 3 Despite this, it is the one I grab for the most. I enjoy this for its balance. The rose smells lovely, and I feel like the complexity lent by other notes really compliments it- like being in a real garden. No tromping through or pulling weeds though, there isn't any dirt or petrichor here. Not immediately recognizable, in a good way. It has a light step, but it's not necessarily innocent and certainly not naive. Rose is classic, but this is not:)

I love this unique fragrance, it’s a beautiful floral fragrance. The complex top notes give it that complex opening; It’s not too sweet and yet has a sexiness to it. It doesn’t smell like anything I own but I recognize the rose in this. The dry down it creamy and soft. I love wearing this in the colder months, and I love the bottle. I will search high and low for this when it runs out.

Oh my goodness. I absolutely love this -I have been through 4 bottles and still love it. It’s a very wearable office scent that suits the heat and humidity where I live as it’s not cloying. I would describe it as hotel lobby floral- it’s posh, refined and relatively linear on my skin . I would recommend sampling before purchasing as it smells different depending on your skin

This is such an uplifting fragrance. Grace-fulness, femininity, light and happiness, this is what this fragrance inspires. It feels young at heart, like a sunny morning day in spring.

I would say the most important thing to consider when purchasing this perfume would be whether or not you prefer Rose and more specifically GREEN rose. What I mean by Green Rose is not only do you get the flower itself but you also get the stem...you get the leaves...you get the thorns...you get the entirety of the plant itself and not just what many people would consider a "rose" scent which is a very deep, robust, sweet rose. This is very fresh and very nice, all encompassing rose, but it is not a deep rose that maybe some people might mistake it to be and I yearn for. Regardless, my overall consensus is that I like it...but I am not in love with it. It does not stand out in comparison to other green rose scents and is quite a bit of a disappointment due to the high(er) price tag. I want the amber to come out, but it evades me. The musk is barely noticeable. I was expecting something very avant garde and modern coming from such a creative genius as well as the house it was created for. I think my own assumptions got the best to be here. So do not expect it to be a different experience, but expect it to be a very straight forward, good green rose with a slight sweet slight amber dry down. I spray it on my sheets at night. But I also I have the urge to keep sniffing and sniffing . That alone tells me something. There is something about this perfume that I do like very much. You either love rose, or you hate it.

Refined and very delicate rose perfume..smells quite lovely. But, my goodness, it's so...pale, watercolor..if this perfume was art, it would be a Monet. This is perfect for someone who likes perfume that is barely there.. Which is to say, it's lovely, ladylike and...gone very quickly. Like a watered down Fleur Fatale by Kim Kardashian, which does have some lasting power at a discount store price. If you like this, save yourself the $$$ and get that one. You can find a 3.3 oz. for about $20 at Amazon. It's actually quite good. I get tons of compliments. NOTE- 30 minutes and it's almost undetectable! Now, the weak!

Definitely a green rose, with a cool demeanour and a slightly crispy powder tang. This reminds me so much of Floris Snow Rose, except that Snow Rose is even crisper and cooler. As I already own said Snow Rose I won't be purchasing this, but if you don't have anything in this genre and you appreciate simple but non-traditional rose it could be worth a test. I received two complements on it within an hour of testing it. The bottle is a little kitch and underwhelming, but the scent hints at a joyful spring. I'm glad I tested it.

I finally got to test this one (along with Daphne and GIRL) and must say that I didn't expect this to be so green. On my skin the basil and mint are very pronounced and the rose takes almost an hour to show up. As always with this brand, very nicely done. The bottle is an elegant version of Purr and looks lovely. However, this rose is unfortunately not for me and Stella remains my No. 1 :) Try before you buy, definitely. This gem is very body chemistry dependent.

This is the effortless, elegant, and understated Grace Coddington that we love. I was expecting something very eccentric but I do envision Grace Coddington when I smell this. It's very easy and comforting and modern. Just like snuggling up with your cat on a fluffy white minimal couch in a sunny apartment surrounded by things that you love. I get bergamot at the beginning. It goes from a fresh bright rose to a comforting rose.

Once we get past the first 5 minutes of the citrus-y herbal-y opening, I like this scent. It's a great, slightly sweet, rose-centric floral fragrance. I've been wanting a nice rose perfume and this is one. However, the longevity is pretty poor on me. 90 minutes to 2 hours and it's gone. So the search continues. Big bummer.

I like the bottle, it's a great cat lady perfume. Just kidding, it's a lovely fresh floral scent, that has rose, but is still light. I can totally sense floral blossoms, it's a spring time scent. There's also mint, freesia, lime and basil - all great fresh notes. Very good!!

Sweet minty rose with green notes and basil. Nice, but I'm not a fan of cashmere wood. Only thing is that it doesn't perform well. -

A fresh green rose with some citrus that anyone could wear. Poor projection and performance. Pleasant but not for me.

The opening gives me a headache, but then Grace turns into nice elegant, innocent daytime perfume.

The fragrance I purchased must have been switched at birth, either that or it's a scent chameleon, judging from the description on this and other websites. It does have a sort of CdG vibe, but my immediate impression was that it strongly resembles L'Occitane Pamplemousse Rhubarbe--which has no listed notes in common with Grace. From the very first through drydown (and overnight until this morning), I get only a strong dry acidic fruit/minty herbal combo of equal measures. Nothing different in the top note nor no evolution throughout. 100% linear. Versus the sweet, pink roses that I am supposed to be experiencing. Not saying I don't like it, just surprised. Shocked, really. May have to get a sample elsewhere for comparison.

Really boring despite the listed notes seemingly describe a beautiful watery, spicy rose. I can't even detect the mint - how hard is it to create a realistic mint? Is that really that difficult? I know this is EdT but I have Caron EdT that are so watery yet project and waft about so wonderfully. I am really struggling to smell anything here. I know it's not my nose as my husband took a whiff and he is extremely sensitive to any perfume-y smells and he can't smell anything either. Detects nothing. After about 30 minutes I can pick up the slightest rose water kind of smell. Honestly, the bottle is so adorable. I'd get the bottle, dump out the juice and refill it with an actual rose perfume. Why not.

I love Grade Coddington. Loved her work, love her autobiography, love her love of cats. I do not love her perfume. The rose and bergamot combination is top heavy and what I do get of the base notes, which isn’t much, can’t come soon enough. I don’t know whether I’m happy or sad this has such poor performance because because it’s just not for me.

Looking at the scent notes, I should have loved this perfume. Alas the promised top notes were nonexistent for me and I was hit right away with a soapy rose. It dried down quickly to the base notes but they did not linger for long. Thirty minutes in and I am left with the rose hanging on to the edges of the musk.

I generally dislike rose notes in perfumery. Especially when they lean towards the watery side of the spectrum (eg Amouage Lyric Man which is possibly my biggest fragrance nemesis ever) so I really didn't expect to like the new collaboration bewteen the iconic Grace Coddinngton and Comme Des Garçons. Well, as a matter of fact, Grace surprised me. An extremely easy to like and very well refined modern rose with a fragile character. Pale, almost whispered but with enough personality to avoid falling into the "fragrance for people who actually don't like fragrances" cathegory. Agrees with white linens, torrid summer nights and walking barefoot but with that certain crystal / plastic quality to keep it urban. There's really not much else to say about Grace smell-wise as the frangrance feels really simple while completely avoiding feeling simplistic. I guess in this specific context we could easily refer to it as a succesful example of true minimalism. It won't probably make the best starting option for those who are not familiar with this seminal brand yet, but if you're looking for something effortlessly elegant, Grace could really fit your bill. As the Grace Coddington fragrance, I rank it very high. I believe it completely reflects her personality and style (they really nailed the brief here). As a Comme Des Garçons, I find it a minor release but surely one of their bests amongst their "easiest" launches. Definitely worth a shot. A few words of reference: Hermessence Rose Ikebana, Charenton Macerations Asphalt Rose, Comme Des Garçons 2. Rating: 7/10

I wish I loved this! What a fantastic bottle design! Second to Cartier’s (original) Panthere, or the Penhaligon's Portrait bottles. I’m always on the lookout for kitty themed bottles, so if anybody out there has the intel, do let me know! Anyway, the juice... oy. I am reminded of those astringent MUJI essential oils. Very citrus forward & herbal. Now mix that with a Chloé rose flanker. If that appeals to you, go on ahead, but I always feel duped when a bottle featuring a cat contains cat repellants! Shame to be a cat lover with your cat headed fragrance, only to spray it on and have your cat (the cat who started it all!) slit their eyes and slink away.

This is innocence and class with shiny hair, a dusting of freckles, and a gorgeous white smile. Clean, light bouquet, with a powdery softness. Longevity and sillage are good. Very pretty and fresh.

This is a very refined soapy rose ;o) clean and wet, with a great fresh floral rose smell as if you just bought a rose bouquet and smell it. You know this kind of rose smell in flower stores.

Light and innocent Rose fragrance. The Rose is unsweet and a bit soapy. Tender, clean and spring like fragrance. The bottle is in shape of a cat. The favorite animal from Grace Coddington.

this is truly a beauty from CDG...we love this new release. and we love wearing it especially this summer.

That lid is kind of horrifying-looking, and incongruous with the classic bottle.
