Luxe Patchouli Eau de Toilette

LUXE: patchouli is a surprisingly polarising fragrance; I wish I had a buck for every reviewer that’s complained of the “patchouli-less patchouli”. However: I LOVE THIS FRAGRANCE WITH EVERY INCH OF MY LITTLE BLACK HEART. It’s loaded with my favourite sniffy-comforters like the happy accident of immortelle. It’s patchy, mossy. It’s peppery. It’s dry. It’s woody. It’s damn-near perfect... ....... IT IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE I just cannot even... GONE. Just like that. I implore you: I’m down to 11⁄2 bottles. PLEASE contact me if you can stand to part with yours, particularly the PARFUM. Weeping...

It must be 12 months since I last wore this, and yet I’m immediately reminded why it’s on my Frantica Top 5 shelf. It’s patchouli, but nothing like one would expect. Warm and cozy due to the very subtle soy bean and vanilla, yet incredibly sophisticated without having all the roughness buffed off. The patchouli is completely de-hippyfied and spiced up with pepper and a hint of that CdG house cedar note. Never ceases to generate interest and compliments. I’d have to say that even as a bit of a CdG fan, this one transcends pretty much anything else I’ve encountered from the brand... Amazing.

It is spicy at the very beginning to come so as to feel saltiness.When fog of the spice clears, a fragrance peculiar to usual COMME DES GARCONS appears.Sweet, slightly bitter peace and calm.

It has a strong tobacco when worn on the clothes. It also has a bit of a coco smell, but not sweet coco. it smells like the darkest, highest concentration cocoa bar from the expensive grocery. the whole smell is wealthy luxury goods. Personally, I just wish it had a little bit of floral or musk to tie it all together and make it more of a perfume than such an accurate rendition of its notes. But that is me. Although I really like the dirty, animalistic and off beat scents, I also prefer my perfumes to smell like perfume and not necessarily arbitrarily different. I always think of this and Jasmine and Cigarettes by Etat Libre d'Orange together. Not because they smell similarly, but because Jasmine and Cigarettes smells like real life fragrances but pulls off being a perfume where Luxe doesn't quite get that harmony together. All that said, I am a little bit of a purist when it comes to fragrances and I don't necessarily assign a value to them based on my preferences. My boyfriend, who I love madly, wears this and I love it on him and he loves it. I think he loves it because it is complex and many sided, each side having its own moment as it develops and changes throughout the day. With this one, I think it would be hard to say "Oh yeah, that is Luxe Patch" just having someone walk by. I would have to be around them for a little while and the rhythm of smells would confirm it for me.

Similar Emmanuel Ungaro Homme 1. Definitely perfect similar. Good sillage and longevity super current both product. But dont forget this very spices scents both of them.

I've been looking for "my patchouli" (as others call it) for some time now but sadly this isn't the one. Smelling this on my skin after an hour this is very patchouli dominant on the scale I prefer. So, this is good news but unfortunately this singular character alone doesn't deliver anything special which would make this stand out from the others to me. I agree it's not an overwhelming one (which is positive!) but it's not a tamed one either - I'd rather call this as an earthy patchouli than incense patchouli. And it does stay earthy over time. I can't pick up vanilla in it it, which is highly welcomed as I'm not a fan of putting vanilla into every fragrance which eventually turns many of them into a "baby powder" drydown. I'd recommend this to those who prefer the earthy variants of clean patchouli since this is earthy in a nice, not too dirty way. Tagline: singular earthy patchouli Blind buy: don't

WTF!!! The opening has a strange, but extremely familiar spice smell...then after 30 minutes it's cracked pepper over a fresh bowl of chicken noodle soup...that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I got a sample from Lucky Scent, and I don't smell patchouli but a nice Labdanum amber that reminded me of Tom Ford Amber Absolute. My sample is labeled correctly, but maybe there was a mix up.. Maybe I am smelling patch, but it's one of those fragrances that is named after a note, and it's a secondary note. Like MFK "Oud" is mostly saffron and some Oud. This is mostly Labdanum and a very nice, clean, chocolaty Patchouli. The Patchouli is allso earthy and green, but also sheer, wet and clean, as in very high quality patch. If you want a high quality, elegant patchouli fragrance, that's smoothed over with a nice amber, I recommend this as one of the very best choices out there. I think it's close to Tom Ford Amber Absolu with more patchouli, so this is a great value also, as it's half the price of Tom Ford AA.

Well...Not realy a Patchuli,Sorry but it isnt. I wish it was but the eternal serge goes on.I got it to day and hoped !..But no. I have been looking for many years,for a Patch. Fore me the solution is 1. Patchouli oil 2. Teufels kuche: (Patchouli EDP)it is a German Company,rather alternative,BUT..They have the only Patchouli that is not messy at all,i meen pure Patchouli in EDP. This is for cononceurs and absolutly simpel! I ́d realy like to put a fancy designer name on my Patch.and i ́v been looking for almost 20 years,but Patchouli is Patchouli...and i think that i vill return to the simpel and best(Patchouli pure).... CdG's EDT patchouli is superb. It truly is "luxe" in that they've chosen a sophisticated treatment blended with extremely complimentary notes. The blend is polished, the Sumatran patchouli smooth (its considered the highest quality patch available). I haven't had the opportunity to try their parfum version yet, but this one is excellent. This is cosmopolitan enough to be an 'evening out' scent. Sillage moderate, longevity good - I got some overspray on my winter coat and had the pleasure of smelling it for days!

This is smokey patchouli, slightly peppery, and kind of violet as well. It's more incense than anything else, like spicy incense patchouli. Sometimes it feels like something burnt, or let's say slightly burnt, but i can't relate anything with soybean to this blend! Although i don't smell quality in here, but I believe this is quite an interesting take on patchouli.

A little different rendition on Pathcouli, more peppery than sweet and earthy. Overall nothing groundbreaking but it's a nice change from standard patch. scents. It's a little dry and smokey and may be better suited for cooler nights outdoors around a campfire, or for fall hikes and outings.

The patchouli isn't overwhelming and is joined by soybean and white pepper. There may be a slight touch of vanilla as well. Not among my favorite patchouli scents. Edit: I get too much of a food vibe with this which I will attribute to the soybean and possibly white pepper notes.
