Odeur 10

With Odeur 10, Comme des Garçons has perfected the laundry scent. I had hopes I'd love this scent, but nothing could've prepared me for the emotional impact I had first trying it; transporting me directly to my childhood. I have always wanted to find the fragrance that most reminds me of being a kid in the early 2000's. That feeling of driving in the car with my dad, listening to classic house and electronica, drinking 7-Up, wearing GAP. To me this aesthetic is perfectly encapsulated in the note of laundry-aldehydes; clean, uplifting, musky, fizz. I've found some of these elements in other fragrances, like L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme, CDG Standard, or CDG Synthetic Series Soda. However none felt quite right. Standard has too much icy, metallic lemon, and Soda is packed with white florals. Odeur 10, however, is a stripped back pairing of the two: taking the aldehydes of Standard and the sporty freshness of Synthetic Series: Soda, discarding the rest, leaving you with a simple, ambient fizz. The quality is incredible too. To my nose, it's like a better version of Byredo Blanche, and a higher quality Leau d'Issey Pour Homme. Despite being a new fragrance to celebrate 30 years of Comme Des Garcon Parfums, Odeur 10 feels like a scent that's been with us the entire time. It takes true expertise to create something so nostalgic, yet timeless. In Odeur 10, I've found that scent of my childhood I have been looking for, and I truly couldn't be happier.

The longer I own and use this one, the more I see how perfectly in line this release is with the previous Odeur scents. The fact that a lot of the CDG/Odeur lovers did not resonate with Odeur 10 shows that CDG managed to create a scent that is just as out there and evocative as it should be. A big factor might be the different marketing, the original Odeur scents had an extensive list of phantasy notes, while the list is very limited for Odeur 10 and leaves more to the user's nose: The field of technological scents was already explored more than enough by CDG in the past. The super sterile, clean, fresh, abstract, airy, ozonic facet of Odeur 10 gives it an incredibly avant-garde and futuristic DNA and yet it feels familiar to some degree. Clean skin, fresh laundry, air, the scent of nothing, soda, sparkling water, disinfectant, electricity, my mind tries to make sense of it and lingers between all kinds of abstract ideas of what this could smell like. Still, it smells very well blended and enjoyable. It will definitely bloom in the summer, but I feel like it can almost be worn all year round. Its abstract nature makes it crystal clear and ice cold during colder months, and its general wearability scales with an interesting fashion sense.

I have been on Fragrantica for probably 15+ years and never written a single review. Have made many purchases from the incredible reviews of others, that said. The poets of Fragrantica help transport me into magical, imaginary worlds that the perfumes quite often live up to. All that said, I cannot let Odeur 10 out of my head and am with a heavy heart nearing the end of my sample. My perfume scale ranges from heavy, dirty incense stink to aseptic surgical clean. And Odeur 10 is proudly at the end of the latter end. It feels like the multicolored reflections of bubbles made out of green Fairy dish soap in a metallic and sterile operating theater. It's cool and fresh and crisp, without a single emotion. Today I showered myself in green Fairy dish soap and doused myself in Odeur 10 from head to toe, and I am in heaven. This will be perfect for the canicular Summer months. And as weird and futuristic and cold and emotionless as this is, I also think it's probably very likeable for most. I feel like I smell germ-free and safe. I think you get the gist of my metaphor. A masterpiece of simplicity. edit. I got a full bottle.

so so so clean, I lowkey love it, it's a very unique experience smelling this, airy, fresh, clean, aldehydic, like being inside an oxygen bubble floating away, it really feels like you're inside a chemical molecule for some reason this one smells like my childhood, there's something in there that triggers so many memories and specifically a best childhood friend I had, it's very visual and I also love how it blends with your skin, gives it a second-skin scent, and pushes your natural scent forward in a very good way, I bet this fragrance changes on different people and skins if Odeur 71 is Gen X Soft Club, this is Frutiger Aero/Neo-Aero as I mentioned in my Ultrae review, I do a lot of analog VJing and artistic work and I've been looking for fragrances that could bring cohesion between what I do visually and my scent bubble, this is super interesting but not exactly what I'm looking for, maybe for the same reasons as Odeur 71, good candidate if I want to tone it down for an office in the creative field or a more formal context

my bottle from Aoyama just arrived. a great addition to all other Odeurs, probably the best one in the line. futuristic cleanliness. mainly aldehydic, slightly metallic and mentholated, truly ozonic — reminds me of Xerox machines and Soviet era medicinal quartz treatments that I experienced as a kid. it absolutely has some hydrogen peroxide feel to it. laundry detergent — in its powdered form — is also there, but it’s ‘very demure, very mindful’. quite unique: Humiecki & Graef Eau Radieuse and A Lab On Fire Almost Transparent Blue are Odeur 10’s distant relatives, more green and citrusy. think of it as of classic men's cologne but with high (natural citrus) frequencies completely cut. an anti-perfume in its true form: Odeur doesn’t feel perfume-y, it just makes you smell like a newly introduced replicant model. sits relatively close to skin, it is mild despite of its industrial vibe. lasts forever. 100% CDG.

These are truly outstanding fragrances, perfectly suited for summer, scorching heat, and blazing sunshine. Clean, fresh, and with excellent projection, they give you the wonderful feeling of putting on freshly washed clothes that have dried in the warm sun and a gentle breeze—again and again. The last few days in Europe have been brutally hot, with temperatures exceeding 40°C. In weather like this, they really come into their own, providing a refreshing boost whenever you need it. They've quickly become one of my favorite summer scents. To me, they are an excellent alternative to L'Eau Chic by Nicolai, which I also absolutely love. Definitely worth trying. Longevity is very good, although after about four hours the fragrance settles close to the skin. That's exactly how I like it—I wear perfume for my own enjoyment, not to overwhelm everyone around me with my scent.

A burst of aldehydes. Fortunately for me, I adore aldehydes. This is an exceptionally clean fragrance, almost like functional product. I imagine a powder laundry detergent that's still dry, the bitterness of a green lime's pith comes through, stainless steel table, metallic laundry machines. A subtle sweet floralcy appears during the dry down similar to the sweet soapiness of CDG Marseille. I want a full bottle. Also, reminds me of Le Labo Musc 25 (Los Angeles).

A clean, dry, metallic scent with warm aldehydes, crisp fabric, hot paper, and a subtle mineral edge. It reminds me of walking through a modern Prada building in Milan - minimal, polished, and quietly futuristic. As it develops, it softens into the smell of freshly ironed cotton with a gentle warmth. Unique without trying too hard, and one of the most memorable fragrances I’ve worn. Excellent longevity on my skin. ★★★★★

Im surprised at the hate this is getting. If you are looking for a powder detergent scent look no further, if you are not into those types of scents move along. I always love how suavitel fabric softener left my clothes smelling but wished it lasted longer and projected more. Blind bought this to try it out and im not disappointed. This is what i picture the laundry of a child born to royalty would smell like

its something you know, some happy forgotten memory, yet its completely new. I cant pinpoint what it is, but this fragrance makes me happy and thats what matters to me. It makes me and everyone around me smile or even giggle a little when smelled from my skin. The only bad thing is i HAVE TO buy it now, damn.

Exceptionally aldehydic, which I absolutely love. It brings to mind retaW’s Barney—clean, soapy, with a hint of metallic sharpness and a musky undertone. This is CDG’s finest release in years. At £160 for 200ml, it’s a bargain in today's prices, and a great signature scent for any season.

Ultra-filtered air with a slight citrus tinge. Smells like a soapy hand placed in front of a hospital’s air conditioning vent. Aldehydic, cyborg clean. I want to wear this everyday 8.5/10

My order from Nose arrived a moment.....and my my what a beautiful fresh scent. Gives you that fresh out of the shower breeze.

This is how I want my clothes to smell when they come out of the washing machine. Very fresh and clean. Soothing and calming.

The year is 2001 and you're on a holiday in Japan. It's the summer time. It's humid and the air is polluted. You've just ran out of hospital in your gown to make a break for it after being told you were found lying in a urinal with a toilet soap bar lodged in your mouth. You had what some might call a 'Shibuya meltdown'. The last thing you remember was doing copious amounts of nitrous and drinking strong zero's at your Japanese friends apartment before blacking out. You've suffered a mild concussion, and you're now hungover. Your Japanese friend has picked you up to make a getaway in his Nissan S13 that has just had the a/c re-gassed with gas that isn't even legal anymore. It's blasting, and so is 'Hybrid Theory' by Linkin Park. He smokes in his car, but the smell is being covered up by an obscene amount of 'Black Ice' Little Trees he has hanging from his rear-view mirror. Not to mention he just had the carpets cleaned, they're still kinda damp, but the car still smells old. Your friend went missing in action last night, so he's trying to make amends. He hands you a garigari kun ice popsicle and a pocari sweat that he had stored in a little portable cooler in the back seat. He's also brought you a change of clothes that he just washed at the laundromat, they reek of cheap detergent. The brain freeze hurts your head and you start having flashbacks of the robot love hotel you went to last night. You don't feel nauseas, but your brain is zapping. You take a deep breath and surprisingly you feel an eerie sense of clarity, but it's probably just the lingering effects of the over-the-counter ritalin you guys snorted last night. Feeling like a ghost in a shell, you wonder if you'll learn from this entire experience, but you probably won't because there's something addictive about feeling like an andriod.

Hmmmmm well you do get laundry, but this one really is a colder laundry scent. Not icy cold but not overly sterilized either. Honestly it smells like drinking Pocari Sweat or Sprite in front of an airconditioner on full blast lol. It wasn’t as mysterious as I thought it was. Not disappointed tho, it is what it is. There’s a comment below saying it reminds them of shaving gel but yknow to me it smells more like dried out hair gel. Yknow like when it hardens, or the residue’s left on your skin. Kinda like that. It oddly would still remind you of fabric/cleanliness despite how odd all ^this may sound Comparatively to me, Blanche is sharp/clinical/antibacterial, Acne Studios is fluffy/comfy, this is stark yet fizzy/airy. Not gonna be my go-to but it is worth smelling! I love a strong concept, and when people have such varied imagery and experiences to a smell because it’s so unfamiliar. Imagine how it must be to have smelled things like sandalwood or jasmine so early in history that we literally cant compare or associate them to perfumes or fragrance-d experiences

I have always been on the lookout for a soapy fragrance that isn’t floral and does not contain rose as they become too feminine on me. Blanche, Acne Studios, Exit the King, Love-O-Matic, Couleur Primaire, etc., just didn't do it for me. This one perfectly fits the criteria for me; however, it does have those added aldehydes that give it an industrial or chemical scent that others have mentioned. While it may not be as wild or crazy as the marketing suggests, it does have a chemical smell that could be off-putting to some people.

Comme des Garcons Odeur 10 extra clean and soapy smelling shower gel. Like the clear Softsoap aquatic-scented hand soap but with more aldehydes to make it smell like it's for the body, thus shower gel. It has an undertone of alcohol and wants to be sharp so bad, but the gel texture stops it from being that...right at the brink of becoming so. Performs really well for a clean scent. High-moderate projection, not quite beast because if it's texture, for hours until it calms down to low moderate at the 5 hour mark.

Smells like laundry section in supermarkets. Like Byredo Blanche without floral components, just tons of aldehydes. Better than CDG Standard imo. Will test for longevity for a final verdict.

To me it smells like a more masculine leaning, aquatic and fresh version of mojave ghost from byredo. A really interesting addition to the whole odeur series.

I agree with someone below who said that it smells familiar. There's something reminiscent of my childhood, but I can't pinpoint it. But, it's too much for my sensitive nose. It's so sharp and piercing that I actually started coughing. At first I voted dislike, but I changed it for OK because I have respect for creativity. It's definitely very unique!

It's like when you get pool water up your nose as a kid. It's a strong chlorine smell but also a certain chlorine feeling. Like the way your mouth tastes when you bite your tongue. Or the taste in your mouth if you get hit in the nose by something. I think this is similar to Resonant by Oddity but not as much citrus. I prefer Resonant.

Straightforward Aldehyde/Musk scent. Smells nice but unfortunately it's very boring and simple with no complexity or personality. It smells like you are wearing part of a fragrance, rather than a complete creation.

Very fresh, aldehydic, laundry, clean, soapy, ocean like. Reminds me a little bit of an all purpose cleaner. It is not my type of fragrance, but I can understand why someone would like it.

wanted to love this—i love aldehydic scents and in my opinion CDG makes some of the best—and maybe i would, if it weren’t so overpowering. same opening as Synthetic Series: Soda minus the citrus, but just way, way too strong. testing it on paper immediately filled my entire bathroom with the scent... migraine city.

No. No, no, no, absolutely not. Smells exactly as @JJ2137 and @Tidouri describes, but in the tangiest, sharpest, most hideous way possible. Clothes out of the washing machine, the laundry section in supermarkets. even just one slight application with the dabber and this stuff you can smell from 6 feet away. It's immediate, jarring, and sickening! sharply synthetic. high-pitched, aggressively soapy. Do you remember 2018 and the Tide POD challenge? Smells like if you got them covered all over your clothes and in your mouth and eyes. It is no surprise to me that this is based on hydrogen peroxide, it has that smell to it. This is a janitor closet which has foaming tile cleaners, carpet shampoo spilled everywhere. Cheap as hell scent. Go get laundry detergent, put your clothes in the wash, leave them for a few days to get some mildew, and then dump way too much of the detergent in there to try and mask the mildew, and leave the clothes out to air-dry, or hell, wear them wet. That's how you can get this scent for cheap.

Being a big fan of Odeur 53, I had high hopes for this and the notes looked interesting, sharp minty aldehydes, potentially good for summer. Far from hitting the mark for me. This is what I imagine cleaning products smell like BEFORE any fragrance is added to them to make them at least pleasant. It's like you take hundreds of unscented cleaning products at random and pour them all into a cauldron and boil everything. Now, I'll admit I just wasn't able to bring myself to give it a proper chance on skin because of how many samples I have in queue to try, since on blotter it was horrendous, I sprayed a minuscule amount on skin and immediately scrubbed it off.

sharp harsh aldehydes comparable to some industrial cleaner. it gave me a headache after 30 minutes of wear. reminds me a lot of zargosk, but odeur 10 really pushes the fresh clean soapy smell. i appreciate the vision behind this scent and it's beautiful on it's own but i can never wear it.

Smells a lot like ‘Estee Lauder Pleasures For Men’ to me; has those sort of laundry detergent aromatics found in the aforementioned, apart from the nectarine note. Where ODEUR 10 differs from Pleasures is that there is a more aldehydic prominence - I like that a review down the page mentioned “drinking sprite in front of an air conditioner fan”, I feel like this is an accurate description, and although the original commenter may have meant it negatively, I find this to be a positive. Smells like something present in Neon Genesis Evangelion: a sparkling metallic soda atop a washing machine in a clean, sterile Tokyo Laundromat.

CdG already has a very aldehydic perfume: Soda . But the citrus note makes it kind of cheerful. I haven't got Odeur 10 yet and I haven't worn it, I can only speak based on one trial. Its aldehydes are quite different, somehow "industrial", they smell like chemicals. My first association was not sterilized spaces like a hospital, but a hair salon, like the one I used to go to with my mom as a child. The smell of chemicals used to treat hair - that's Odeur 10. There is, for me, something nostalgic in it.

It's a fun scent, but it dries down rather quickly to a fairly flat and one-dimensional aldehydic, hot-metal kind of aroma. Squeaky clean like some chemical antisceptic. Zero, Standard, and Serpentine do this chemical-fresh mashup better, and the other Odeur releases like 71 and 53 are also a bit more interesting. (Another better similar one is Oddity's Resonant) I also just dislike opaque bottles and the awkwardly large rectangle shape isn't doing it any favors. Unfortunate thumbs down for me.

There seem to be a lot of reviewers saying that it smells familiar and is reminiscent of an unknown childhood scent memory. I, too, got that impression but I think I can pinpoint it. It smells like playing outside in the summer. It smells like fresh air, freshly cut grass and flowers in the distance, clean sweat, and hot metal playground equipment, like a slide. This is similar enough to Soda to call it related, but more floral and slightly green, like the green aldehydic notes in Serpentine.

Smells like every variation of scent associated with laundry day. The dry rasp of detergent granules, the chemical scent of stain remover, the barely floral smell of dryer strips, and the slightly metallic scent of warm steam rising from freshly washed and ironed cotton sheets. Laid over all that is a transparent, watery mint. For me this is an ultimate comfort smell, much more so than dense gourmands. It smells like order and cleanliness, but a gentle take on those ideas.

It has the exact same smell as Series 6 Synthetic Soda I was expecting something totally different! But I had to pick it up as I’m a huge COMME des GARÇONS freak 🖤 As always...rad and niche!

Maybe the strongest thing I've ever smelled... On a tester strip. Possibly even more than Megamare. People who spray on fabric of this are brave. I'm intrigued.

Aldehydes, aldehydes, aldehydes... smells like a laundromat, ironed clothes.. very similar to Dior New Look 2024 but with some florals.
