Gold +

TL;DR: 5/5, for anyone, buy it. Gold+ has evolved into one of my favorite scents ever. I get so many compliments with this scent. General: This is a universal scent for any occasion. Office safe, compliment-getter on dates (verified, lol), and I find I reach for it around bedtime because the scent is so pleasant. Scents have no gender - wear what makes you happy! Anyone could easily enjoy this scent. While the notes in Gold+ are traditionally understood to lean fall/winter, I discovered the scent in the middle of summer and wore it a great deal in the high heat. I consistently got compliments and never felt like it was overpowering or inappropriate for the summer. You can wear this any time, maybe just lighter in the warmer months. The performance and longevity are impressive. This is from Commodity’s “Bold” line, indicated by the “+” after the name. I get about 6-8 hours of solid performance before it becomes a skin scent. I have sweated and been in aromatic environments and can still smell Gold+ after a long day. I have smelled this on my skin up to 16 hours after a spray, though it is assuredly a skin scent by then. The projection is above average as I get compliments from people about two meters from me with about 5-7 sprays. I do like to say hello in a room, lol. The bottle is solid glass and feels heavy in a good way. The slip-on lid is large is tight enough to not fall off, but isn’t difficult to remove. The core of the lid is plastic and the outside is brushed metal. The lid has never come off unbidden in my travels. The atomizer is strong with a nice stream. It takes effort to depress but has a fine dispersion. The stream is in the middle range of width, which is perfect. The atomizer is well-made. Scent Notes: Gold+ is somewhere between an amber, woody, and gourmand scent, while always vanilla. Vanilla: top, middle, base Gold+ is a beautiful, rich, deep amber vanilla scent. Have no doubt that this entire scent is built to showcase the vanilla. This is a full-bodied, dry, non-sweet vanilla. Imagine vanilla extract but way more fun. Amber: top, middle, base Amber accords contain vanilla to bring a warm, liquor, and powdery-ness in scents. However, in Gold+ the amber is clearly distinct from the vanilla. The amber brings its warmth and sensual energy into Gold+ from the top to the base. Because the amber is separate from the vanilla, even though vanilla exists in amber, it almost forces your olfaction to drift between the two, trying to decide on which to focus - which is the fun of scents! Amber and vanilla dance together here in a way that feels like they are two confident and experienced partners leading the rest of the notes in their complex choreography. Sandalwood: top, base The sandalwood is present throughout the scent, bringing in the woody side of Gold+. The sandalwood grounds the floral vanilla in the earth, preventing an overly-sweet vanilla expression and keeping the scent dry. The sandalwood also helps to contrast the spices in the base, giving them space to do their work on the vanilla. Gold+ is not a musky scent, but it has some musk leanings that assuredly come from the sandalwood. The sandalwood is present through the entire scent from top to bottom. However, in the middle it passes the baton to ISO E Super before taking it back to sit confidently and pleasantly in the base. ISO E Super: middle ISO E Super is a synthetic, woody scent that sits in-between sandalwood and cedar wood. It adds a smoothness and a depth to scents and you will find it in most modern fragrances. Beyond the pleasant scent profile it brings, it has the effect of amplifying other scents and increasing performance. (Check out Molecule 01.) In Gold+ the ISO E Super helps carry the work of the sandalwood in showcasing the vanilla and gives it a dry space to explore its floral notes with the spices. The ISO E Super doesn’t show up until the middle notes where it seems to take over for the sandalwood for a bit before relinquishing the woody labour back to the true sandalwood in the base. Patchouli: middle (subtle), base The patchouli is a ninja in this scent. It hides until the middle and base where it comes out to add soft, earthy notes. The patchouli is not strong in Gold+. It works in tandem with the sandalwood and ISO E Super to bring matureness to the vanilla by spreading its floral notes into earthy woods. The patchouli is the other source of musk at the base of Gold+. However, like the sandalwood, this does not push the fragrance into a musky profile. With this mint-family green in the mix, it helps ensure the spices in the base don’t pull Gold+ into a gourmand space while adding complexity to the wood notes. There are two spice notes here that ensure Gold+ is more than a woodsy vanilla scent: saffron and nutmeg. Neither are peppery or sharp, but add depth at two different edges of the fragrance. Saffron: top (briefly), base The somewhat spicy and unexpected saffron brings a sexy and mature note that really refines this scent and pairs with the vanilla in a way that feels like a perfect match. The saffron elevates and expands the traditionally gourmand vanilla into something more exotic and adventurous than its traditional role as a simple, floral base note. Saffron, as an expensive and exotic spice, bolsters the bold and sexy edge of Gold+. The saffron is pleasantly sharp on the initial spray and sits in the top notes briefly but fades into the base, allowing the vanilla to shine. Nutmeg: base This is where the gourmand muscles of Gold+ flex. The warm and spicy nutmeg is subtle. One could be forgiven for not catching its notes in this scent. Nutmeg is there but it serves more to challenge the vanilla to show its gourmand side than it does to shine on its own. It is pleasant and part of what makes me reach for Gold+ when I want a comforting scent: cozy, vanilla spice feelings. However, the nutmeg is not strong enough to push Gold+ into a proper gourmand fragrance. If that’s what you’re looking for, check out Commodity’s Milk+ and Milk line. Final Thoughts: Gold+ is one of the most extravagant and beautiful vanillas in my collection and has moved into one of my favorite scents. I find I reach for it often and am often surprised when I think I want a different scent and then end up using Gold+. I think it is great anywhere, anytime. Vanilla is like that. I love this scent. Totally recommend. Have fun! If you’re looking for a more gourmand experience, Commodity’s Milk+ is actually somewhat similar to Gold+ but has committed entirely to the gourmand side of this fragrance with many other delicious notes. Gold+ is not a true gourmand but you can get some interesting results highlighting that side of it by layering it with Milk+.

Gold, bold, beautiful—creamy vanilla wrapped in soft leather, with that clean, transparent touch of ISO E Super. It’s sweet, slightly warm, a little spicy—sugared patchouli and warm nutmeg weaving through it... unisex, but leaning sexy. It’s spring, but where I am it’s still cold and wet, and I’ve been craving this. So I pulled it out. There’s something about it—it feels like new beginnings. A clean slate. And that warmth? It brings hope. That’s why it works so well in winter and during that transition into it. But right now, I’m feeling that same energy, so I’m adding it to my aura. I tried the Gold expressive version before, and it felt like something was missing. Honestly, I didn’t really care for the Gold line—until I smelled this. This is different. I like fragrances that tell a story, that evolve, that take you somewhere all the way through the dry down. Because there’s something a little sad about fragrances that just... smell good. They linger, they project, they leave a trail like most mass fragrances—but they don’t say much. They leave you wanting more. At least, they leave me wanting more. There’s no depth. Not to get too deep, but it’s like people sometimes—wanting attention, wanting to be seen and heard, but not really having much to say or much to offer in real life. They just kind of move through things on autopilot, even in what they think is awareness or consciousness... not realizing they’re just like everybody else, or most others. That’s how a lot of fragrances feel. So when you find one that actually speaks—one that has depth, that brings warmth, comfort, maybe even a sense of security... it hits different. Update: I think I went nose blind to the fragrance. I wrote the original review on April 13 today is April 16 this morning. I took a shower and grabbed my robe and this fragrance was still on it. I smelled it as I waved my robe on to my body and then off as I hung it up when I walked by I smelled the scent. So this scent last extremely long, but it’s not as potent as when I first got it which I prefer although I do wish it would be a little louder. I do think someone will be able to smell this as I walk by even three days later.

This was gifted to me last Christmas. And it was an accident because it wasn't the one I'd asked for, lol. I really had to paste on a face of awe and thrill to receive it because I was not okay when I first smelled it. These weird, spicy vanillas like rifaqaat, babycat, RM no. 5, and this one were just too odd to my nose at the time. My collection is well into the mid hundreds and my nose is changing. I pulled this out on a cool night in summer just because I can't wait to wear autumn scents. I fell in absolute love with this. The scent profile overall has grown on me tremendously. I pulled out the others just to make sure. This one is my favorite because it imparts just a tad more sweetness. I'm a chronic over sprayer, so.... I finished the bottle. I would buy again, but I'll finish the others in this scent profile first. If you didn't like it but still have it, I'd encourage you to try it again if you're "on the journey". You might be more receptive to it now. My husband still doesn't like it, but he's not really on a journey. He won't even bother to know the names of what he puts on. He's a pretty simple D and G Light Blue kinda guy. Another thing... This may smell weird if you're smelling your skin directly. Smell the air your skin is in, not the skin directly. It's beautiful.

I personally love this fragrance. If I would base what I decide to buy off of reviews on fragrantica, I wouldn’t own more than half of the fragrances I have. This to me is a more wearable version of YSL babycat. It’s a more simple vanilla and leather kind of fragrance (even though there’s no leather listed- to me it’s DEFINITELY there) I think it’s well blended, soft and very well done. I love leather notes but it’s hard to find one that I can pull off as a woman. This one is in my top three leather scents. There’s really not much to it. I don’t really get a lot of the other notes. Maybe whispers of saffron and nutmeg, but that’s about it. It wears beautifully and I have gotten a lot of compliments from men with this fragrance. It has moderate wear time and projection and I would definitely purchase a full bottle of this. If you like vanilla, leather or punk rock vibes.. this is a good starting point.

Gold + opens up with a sweet and rather synthetic vanilla extract. It starts off slightly cloying, and once combined with the note of nutmeg which comes through in the mid hints at baked goods, specifically Christmas baking. If you can just hold on for the dry down it becomes comforting and beguiling in its airy sweetness. The saffron and beautiful grounding patchouli in the base are what makes it for me! It is certainly a cold weather scent and one of my favourite from the entire Commodity discovery set. This blossoms into a cosy, sweet amber vanilla with heaps of warmth and gourmand touches. I also find it to be perfectly unisex. I get the sense of sitting by a fire in a countryside home or pub, at Christmastime, whilst eating honeyed saffron pastry with lots of vanilla and grated nutmeg in the batter.

Big fan of this + line, I've honestly enjoyed them all and that is pretty rare to like everything in a discovery set! Initial spray: smells exactly as they (Commodity - on the website) said it would - vanilla spiced wood! Dry down: loved it. detectable on my wrist at 10+ hours and didn't change too much as it developed except it became less *dry* wood and more *warm* wood with the hints of vanilla. really nice skin scent that obviously works well with my body chemistry. particularly nice dry down for this one.

The first time I used it, it didn't feel like anything special. There was definitely some "synthetic" element that was new to me at the time. But after a couple of times I absolutely fell in love with this fragrance. I'm not a big fan of sweet fragrances, so I wasn't into vanilla scents before. But this one is a perfect mix of vanilla sweetness and woodiness – with a twist that makes it feel unique. I usually layered Gold+ over Velvet+ and it smelled gorgeous.

Mmm...this. This is THE warm, cozy, special gold in a bottle. It's like nothing I've ever smelled before. Vanilla, amber and sandalwood somehow intertwine so that none stand out individually, it comes off as creamy, with a hint of nutmeg. Saffron in scents is growing on me. I normally despise patchouli in perfume but this perfume is so well balanced and well blended that I didn't even detect it. Beautiful, unique, long-lasting winter scent that's inoffensive.

i didn’t love this at first, i found it a bit too heady (i was overspraying.) i love all the notes tho, so i kept wearing it anyway and it’s been a major compliment getter every single time i wear it. projection is amazing and it lasts forever. it starts off strong, deep, spicy, dries down to a sandalwood vanilla. it’s sexy & cozy & screams confidence. i love it for the night time. definitely unisex, a wonderful perfume for anyone bold & confident. 9/10

If you were going into this fragrance with the original Gold in mind, this is a different beast. It might have a similar DNA but it's got a darker edge, much more bold. It's leathery saffron and patchouli with a sweet amber vanilla base. There is a nice hint of nutmeg and sandalwood in the drydown. Iso E Super is there in the background, but it's not overpowering by any means. If you like saffron and amber, you'll like this.

It’s a cold weather holiday scent! A soft, warm, vanilla amber musk with the addition of patchouli and saffron makes this SPICY compared to the personal and expressive scent spaces!! I can also detect that juniper or some kind of balsamic note on top. It’s heavier, but in my opinion it’s not over the top. Gold + definitely leans more masculine. It lasts about 5 hours on skin.

I bought Commodity Bold to layer with Commodity Expressive and I LOVE it. Makes the original fragrance last SO much longer !! On its own it is not sweet enough for me, the patchouli is very prominent when you first spray it. But the dry down, amazing. Last over 6 hours on my skin.

This is the golden sister of Ajayeb Dubai by Lattafa. Rich Amber and saffron. Its decadent warmth is liquid gold as a perfume. There’s something elusive in it that makes it stand apart from all the other “standard issue” Amber vanillas that have saturated the market. Just lovely.

This is in the same family as By The Fireplace, Babycat, Jazz Club and In The Dark Heart of Old Havana. Smoky vanilla and amber - beautiful for winter. It’s not too bold; enough but not too much. I love it.

Reminiscent of the Moonlit Graveyard candle from bathandbodyworks to me!!! Very earthy with some added vanilla!!

i’ve never been much of a patchouli girl (i’ve been conditioned by my mother to fear it, lest i smell “like a hippie” lmao) but i like this one! it’s earthy and spicy with the nutmeg, and it helps cut the sweetness of the regular gold dna. i liked gold, but after i tested it, the thought of wearing it again made me feel kind of ill. gold expressive is a really thick, creamy vanilla at times, and in my memory it’s kind of smothering? the patchouli and spice give this scent enough of a backbone so that the vanilla is never too cloying. i understand where the “too masculine” people are coming from, but it doesn’t smell manly to me if that makes sense. i could see a guy or girl wearing this and smelling amazing. it’s a rich, decadent smell, and the earthiness give it just a touch of a bite. not quite skanky or animalic, but it’s definitely got a bit of dirt in it, you know? a vixen wrapped in velvet. (edit: very strong! i put on two sprays at 8 in the morning, and at 2pm i was told i should “go easy on the perfume”) the vibes: an extravagant holiday party at your boss’s gilded age mansion. there’s a couple on the marble stairway, dressed in matching black velour. they’re probably robber barons, but they smile at you so sweetly.

I got this for my bday and I think the version I preferred in the discovery set was expressive... My mistake I guess. On opening this could be interchangeable for a million mens perfumes and I think that is the patchouli and nutmeg that make for a spicy bright opening that I don't care for, too vague a mood or without a scene. As the perfume opens up which does take a little while the vanilla does find room to breathe and it is a lovely woody vanilla that conjures up an image of walking through a dense wooded area just after a gentle rain has passed. It's airy but simultaneously dense. I think this is a good office fragrance, it's enough to catch attention but familiar enough to lack abrasion. With such familiarity at the price point, you can probably find something very similar that is more affordable? Updating... Okay it seems everytime I make my mind up of this perfume I let it dry down completely after 20 mins and I understand why I wanted it.... After all the initial sparks go away you are left with a gorgeous vanilla....

My first thought: for an "expressive" fragrance, this one sure is weak. It's basically a a linear amber skin scent. Which doesn't inherently make it bad, I actually kinda like it. My problem with this fragrance is two fold. First, I have ambers in my collection that do this same thing, but much much better. I can name a dozen ambers that are vastly better. Second, there's a weird sourness to this one. Final thoughts, it's fine but nothing earth shattering and performance (particularly projection) is not good. Spend a little more money and get Grand Soir, Coromandel, Gucci Eyes of the Tiger, or Ambre Sultan. If you're on a budget, Histories Ambre 114 can be found for the same price or less one the gray market or eBay, or check out CK Amber Euphoria Amber Gold which is much better. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Scent 6/10 Performance 5/10

I’m still deciding between the original Gold (expressive) and the Gold+. I really love the original version, but I wanted to see what it was like with more projection, although the original definitely gets noticed within a few feet. I sprayed them at the same time to see how they differ. Gold goes straight into a deep, warm vanilla amber with a hint of spice. Gold+ is definitely leathery, I think from the saffron, and it lingers there for quite some time before opening up to the same vanilla as the original Gold, but with the additional touch of leather. It’s very sexy and dark. Gold+ is more of a dry heat where Gold is more creamy. I think I prefer Gold, but I like the projection of Gold+.

Edit: I got to try the gold + from commodity itself and not a sample that I believe went a little bad. I love Gold expressive it’s sweet and ambery but the woodiness comes through still quite strong. With this Bold version the sandalwood is even more apparent and leans more unisex than expressive. It’s still that beautiful woodsy sweet smell. It’s such an easy wear just like gold expressive and personal. Honestly the whole line of Gold did such a good job since the base smell of gold is so good. I went through my sample bottles fast, however I think I will be only purchasing fulls of personal and expressive since Bold is a bit too woodsy for me compared to the other versions.

It's a different fragrance than the original Gold, that's for sure. More of a flanker, not just a stronger concentration. It's got the same cozy soft vanilla undertones, but with a strong dry woody note that starts immediately and doesn't let up. Although I like it quite a bit, it didn't end up getting a lot of wear this season. I prefer the original Gold with reapplications. Or if I'm going to go for a more woody fragrance, I enjoy Memoirs of a Trespasser. Out of my collection, it's most like Nirvana Bourbon. So for me it's a 4/5 but doesn't beat other ones that are 4.5/5 and very similar.

The star of the show is the heavenly drydown. It's creamy, vanilic, lasts long (6-8hrs), however it's nothing unique. The opening notes sounded promising (I love leather, woods, smoke, etc.), but somehow they just didn't deliver. It lasts about an hour then transitions into vanilla. True unisex. As for the projection - you really need to get up close to smell it. I wasn't modest with the sprays, but didn't go on a overspraying frenzy either and. So not sure what the "plus" is all about. This is nice, but I personally would go for different leather/woods and creamy vanillas all-together.

If you enjoy Memoirs of a Trespasser and By The Fireplace, you are sure to enjoy this one. The way that Commodity describes Gold (+) is essentially what you get - a dark and smoky/spicy vanilla. Upon first spray, it is quite the patchouli bomb and almost a little menthol-like from the saffron, but you gotta trust the process. It dries to a resinous, deep, ambery, somewhat spicy vanilla best suited for chilly days and sipping hot chocolate while it snows outside. It's warm and comforting and enveloping, like the feeling of wrapping yourself in a blanket fresh from the dryer. 7.5/10

I was pleasantly surprised by Gold+ Gold and Gold- were a big no for me - both were far too sweet and smelled almost entirely of vanilla on my skin. Gold+ has a completely different vibe. I’ve seen some people say it leans more masculine, and I can see why, but that’s actually what I love about it. The spicy, woody dry-down works beautifully on my skin and gives it so much more depth and character. The performance was also noticeably better. Gold+ stayed strong on my skin, whereas the other Gold Scent Spaces faded very quickly on me. Definitely the winner of the three for me!

How is it possible they've made a perfume spray the "bold" version of this fragrance? I've never tried the original Gold, but I'm very confused about how this is supposed to be a stronger version when it's so light. Other than the issues with lasting power & sillage, I LOVE this fragrance. It's a perfect holiday season scent, I get mostly vanilla and nutmeg. But it's still not overly sweet and sugary, which makes it more mature than a lot of Vanilla fragrances I've come across. If they made an EXTRA EXTRA BOLD version, I'd be obsessed.

the whole gold line is quite soft, the vanilla and sandalwood create a soft and gentle scent. Gold+ dials this up by adding patchouli and nutmeg, which make this more "punchy" and complex than the other Golds. not for me personally but it's an interesting vanilla spicy scent that doesn't lean too feminine. lasts hours and hours! update: i think this is for me! certainly my favourite Gold. Possibly signature night scent worthy. Also, very similar to Jo Malone Myrrh & Tonka despite not containing myrrh or tonka :0

honestly, this really disappointed me. i adore gold expressive; however, its projection is kinda shitty, so i was hoping the bold version would deliver so i could justify the price of a whole bottle. bold is NOTHING like expressive. there isn’t any freshness in the bold and it’s too masculine for my taste. it’s a nice smell and not too patchouli heavy, but it’s sad because i was expecting something else and it just didn’t deliver.

To me, this is the single offering from Commodity that smells anything like actual paper or an actual book. It shares the same thin vanilla and wood base as the Gold Expressive, but with the dry woodiness amped up. There's an almost leathery saffron note here, which makes it smell even more like an actual book to me. This stays very dry and not sweet from start to finish, which I think is why some people find this more masculine.

Of Commodity's scents, this is the one I find to be the most different from the other "levels" of the same scent. Where Gold and Gold- are pretty solidly vanilla fragrances, I would say that Gold+ is primarily a spicy fragrance. It is extremely rich and warm and has more depth than the other two. I absolutely adore how it smells, and is definitely a go to in the winter. However, it is definitely too heavy for everyday wear

I have a perfume oil that is not listed here (Treant by Bloodbath Products) that I like because it makes me feel like a piece of heavy old wooden furniture, freshly polished. So far, Gold+ is the only other fragrance I've tried that gives me this sensation. It opens with a strong, unsweetened vanilla, like an extract, and becomes woodier soon. I noticed mostly sandalwood. The staying power is tremendous.

Definitely a spicy evolution of the original Gold. The votes for Ani & Ambre Sultan make a lot of sense to me. I think of Ani's drydown, but a bit less resinous, and a dash of Ambre Sultan's spiciness. It also has a subtle smokiness. The woody notes don't stand out nearly as much as they do in the other versions. If Gold is a 2/5 for complexity, Gold+ is a 3/5. Nice, but I still prefer the regular Gold.

Fluffy, musky marshmallow that is not gourmand with amber to make it cozy and smooth. I’m not a gourmand or vanilla lover but I am a musky, cozy scent lover so I’ve enjoyed this perfume a lot. I wish it projected a lot more, but at least it has bomb longevity that makes me be okay with how soft this performs. I can catch this on my actual skin 7-9 hours later which isn’t that common imo.

At first, you get a lot of the Iso E but then it dries down to something like new car at Christmas time smell, in a good way. I like scents with strong spice notes but I can see how this might bother other people. On my skin the nutmeg smell pops forward the most and I want to layer it with a stronger Vanilla note to mellow it down.

Super woodsy and kind of sweet to my nose.... like a 70:30 ratio. Not bad, I really like it. Maybe if I didn't own By the Fireplace and mixbar vanilla bourbon I'd get it, but I don't feel the need to have more than one fragrance that smells like this... it's almost like if those 2 perfumes had a baby, this would be it.

This might be to niche but it smells exactly like Christmas scratch and stick stickers. This is probably my favourite variation of gold, I find it less vanilla and far more spicy and woodsy than the other two versions. Very nostalgic sent but not sure I want to smell like a blinged out Christmas present.

Surprised it's rarely mentioned here but the sweet amber woody scent is similar to By the Fireplace by MMM. I like the profile but MMMs come in EDT and usually last shortly. I'll test this bold version for longevity.

It’s a radiant combo of cardamom, sandalwood and vanilla. It’s nice and quiet cosy. If you like By the Fireplace MM - that is quite similar I think, but less spicy. It’s has very winter-y vibe for me.

Smells like getting into a handsome mature mans car. No leather notes but this comes off very leathery. Pretty masculine leaning, this would really make an incredible room fragrance.

to me very sweet smelling and felt like a gourmand. my boyfriend LOVED it on me, seriously really was crazy for it. I think it's nice but do not think I will buy a full bottle.

To me it smells like if Ani and Ganymede had a baby. I get the spicy vanilla opening from ani and the dry down has that cool metallic smell from Ganymede. I quite like it

Smoky vanilla and amber with lots of sandalwood and patchouli; a pretty perfect warm, sexy unisex scent for the winter that both lasts and projects amazingly.

After Few Wearings this reminds me of Babycat+Oman luxury Caden so its mix of both and better alternative .. performance is decent 7.5/10

A nice, easy fall scent. I like all the notes, but this doesn’t necessarily stand out to me. It doesn’t project and doesn’t last.

Dark, deep vanilla. Dry. Very woody. Non-sweet. I find it pleasant. Better suited for fall and winter than hot weather IMO.

Given how Commodity is doing the whole personal (-), expressive, and bold (+) thing, it makes sense to compare them side by side and provide one review for all three. While I prefer to test blind it's hard not to notice the names, but I haven't looked up the suggested notes or read any of their literature. With GOLD, because of how similarly named fragrances I've been exposed to are mature, oudy, incense, and amber rich, I'm expecting something in the same light. What I get is a variety across the three. The intimate is more gourmand, like their MILK fragrance, with vanilla musky sweetness in the opening. It dries down more woodsy though. The expressive has a tiny amount of similar undertone, but is more amber with juniper or something bright at the top in the opening before settling down. It also has the slightest bend towards being feminine with the tone of the musk. Both the minus and expressive dry down into a similar incense-woodsy tone. The plus is far more in line with expectations, with a complete shift to a larger woodsy and incense-like body, whose tone also just leans into a more feminine air. Looking at the notes, I admit I'm a little proud of myself for getting some spot on testing these blind. While the vanilla runs through all, it's only distinct in the opening of the intimate, otherwise it hangs in the background. The amber, sandalwood, and Iso E notes are really what you get, and blend to project the slight incense feel, while different notes like the juniper, nutmeg, and saffron characterize each further. The intimate and expressive performed as expected, while the plus outlasted most of the day. Overall, gold is a subtly rich fragrance - getting close to, but not quite reaching - its name, where others similar in name or branding outshine it. But this gold remains a fair market value given its price point, the plus shining brighter than its siblings.

If I had to describe Gold Trio in 1 word, that would be a bit tricky as it is not as consistent as some other trios are from this brand. Breakdown of notes is different on the brand's website so will go with what is there, not here. With Gold Bold, I'd say it's muted/earthy vanilla bean. On a tester strip, it starts with lovely creaminess from oakmoss with a touch of saffron. It takes time to move to the heart. I waited good couple of minutes to be taken to the second stage. At some point we move to vanilla bean - you know, when you buy a vanilla stick and you open it, you get this awkward powderiness. Then nutmeg and patchouli appear somewher in-between adding some earthy feel to vanilla bean. Grown-up vanilla fragrance. On my skin, similar exprience to the tester strip. nice creamy opening that lasted for quite ome time. Then vanilla bean was most prominent. Nutmeg and patchouli added earthy tone to it, to balance powderiness coming from the beans but vanilla was most present. In the Gold Bold, the perfumer wanted to amplify a feeling of indulgence and ability to draw attention by adding notes of vanilla bean, depth of patchouli and some woodiness and spiciness. This is what you get. But I wouldn't say that this fragrance is giving me feeling of indulgence and that it would draw my attention.

Started out as a leathery spicy slightly woody vanilla that kind of reminded me of Babycat, and after about an hour it turned into a sweet woody fragrance (reminds me very much of cedar in acacia by scents of wood) with some spice and hints of vanilla and leather. It’s fine, I wouldn’t wear it but if someone around me were to wear it I would think they smelled nice, and I would probably compliment them. Definitely not a dupe for Babycat it only reminds me of it for the first 10-20 minutes, but I feel like if you enjoy Babycat and are looking for a woody fragrance this would be up your alley. This doesn’t smell feminine or masculine to me, but since it doesn’t have much sweetness I feel like this might be intimidating for anyone who predominantly wears feminine scents

To me this frag is nice and cute but I seen her before. She’s every girl with a warm vanilla body oil and a wool sweater at a tiny vintage clothes boutique in autumn. In more details, the dna of gold + isn’t unique enough to be repurchase, on me it’s just mostly warm, cosy vanilla with just an edge of smoke in the beginning. For the performance and silage, I have seen this concept been done better. But it’s safe, cute, simple and my partner digs it. If only the smoke opening last I would’ve like it more
