Milk -

I have no idea why I like this so much but I honestly think this maybe the only fragrance I have ever actually liked and wanted to wear. I hate overly sweet scents, woody scents often give me a headache. I should hate this fragrance... but to be honest I have realized I don't really hate these things- its just that most of the time they are too strong for me. I am so picky about fragrance that I usually wear nothing- my deodorant is unscented, my cleaning products too... so it's hard for me to find something that doesn't gnaw at my sinuses painfully and well... this doesnt! but I still don't know why I like it. I keep telling myself its too feminine for me, its too sweet.... but I cant stop wanting to smell it.. so I keep wearing it! I was in denial so long it took me forever to purchase it.. I would just keep going to sephora to try it on and think "oh its just ok, its missing something" then an hour would go by and i would just keep reaching my arm up to sniff. The sweetness was still there, but it smelled like me, and the sweetness wasn't sugary- just sweet. I don't ever get marshmallowy except at the very very start... and it never seems to go powdery on me (one way ticket to a headache). I am a bit sensitive, but I think it lasts very long. On me it lingers at its best spot even after 12+ hours. It's oddly very skin-like and natural. It feels like it's supposed to be there when I smell it Milk- is like my favorite deserts... hardly sweet, a little savory, and so light you could eat a lot of it. I love it! I like some of the other personals too but I need to give them some more time... they all feel very thoughtfully balanced and subtle though, which is very exciting to me since I long felt like I would never really be able to enjoy perfumes

This is a blind purchase I’ve been wanting to make for about three years now. When they offered 30ml bottles to be sold individually for Black Friday, I finally bit the bullet. The listed accords on Fragrantica don't lie—this is a very powdery, lactonic, and musky marshmallow fragrance. On first impression, I pick up mostly the woody and musky notes, but as it settles, it transforms into a pure marshmallow scent. It’s incredibly comforting, but I wouldn’t call it a safe blind buy. For the record, I don’t think it smells like milk at all; it’s more of a warm, woody marshmallow perfume. It's not too sweet and it sits quite close to the skin, so I think I could wear this all year besides peak summer. I don't really care for what others think of my perfume, but my friends have told me this is one of their favourite scents on me (the other favourite being Delina). Update: I have fallen head over heels in love with this perfume and if I still adore it the same by the time I finish my 30ml, I will absolutely be upgrading to a full-size. I think my first impressions weren’t that great because it wasn’t what I was expecting, but if you try it knowing you’re going to get a lovely woody, creamy, musky marshmallow (and not milk), you will be in for a treat. Updated my original review a bit to reflect this.

To me, this is straight vanilla marshmallows, I think it’s a little too sweet to be realistic milk but this is probably my favourite gourmand scent I’ve tried. I don’t find it cloying (I’ve not had it long enough to have tried in warm weather, but I also live in a pretty cold climate generally) like some have mentioned since the silage isn’t huge. Though they advertise this as intimate silage, I actually find if I spray it on my wrists I still get wafts of it so I’d say it’s more moderate and just fades a little faster than the others, though the slightly sweet, lactonic musk sticks around for a while in the dry down. I don't get any woodiness necessarily, any warmth just comes from the vanillin sweetness. It's fairly linear, which may be a negative for some though it does what it does really well. Definitely one to try for anyone else obsessed with lactonic musks like myself, this is definitely a lovely soft sweet smell that I find is harder to find in gourmands. I especially love that it’s not a syrupy vanilla but more like the vanilla from a marshmallow.

I’m loving this! As a fan of Milk+ for a year now, I was intrigued to get my nose on the Milk- because I wanted a version of the product that matches the juice! And to me, Milk- is that white, milky, lactonic, powdery, sweet goodness bottled in the perfect shade of white. To compare it with Milk+ this version is less woodsy, less spicy and more creamy and softer. Yes, you’re losing in performance department with Milk-, but this is the creamier, more realistic version of a milk/marshmallows fragrance. As I own both, a small bottle of Milk+ and a travel size of Milk-, I can get a customisable, combined version of both versions highs. Which it might be tomorrow’s scent of the day. If you want something sweet and creamy, decadent and delicious, gourmand and powdery get yourself to a Sephora for a sniff session and test all three Milk available. I am convinced that one would “speak” to your personal taste.

my current favorite fragrance. super unique to me and has gotten me quite a few compliments. when first applied I get A LOT of the sweetness with very warm creamy wood. At first it’s not very milky but after a bit of time on the skin it developed into this lactonic creamy wood with a touch of sweetness. It reminds me of waking up in a remote cabin, sitting on a porch in the woods drinking a warm cup of milk that has a touch of nuttiness. it’s sweet without being immature. i see a lot of people saying it’s too masculine but to me it is the perfect middle ground unisex fragrance, but almost all of the compliments i’ve gotten with it are from men so do with that information what you will. i’m seriously obsessed with this fragrance but it does smell very different on skin vs on a tester.

I love Milk- and Milk+. Expressive gets screechy on me. Milk- is underrated. Its the sweetest of the three to me. I get a creamy, marshmallow skin musk scent. Lactonic scents can get sickening, so I appreciate this smooth soft version. Although this one sits closest to the skin, I still get a yummy scent cloud. As someone with anxiety, I've really been enjoying the calming aromatherapy affect that this scent provides me. So cozy and comforting. Also, Milk- is perfect to add sweet creaminess to other scents if you are into layering. Love to layer with Kilian Princess. ** The Milk line are what I'd describe as 'perfume-y' woody scents. Do not purchase if you're strictly looking for gourmand sugary sweet marshmallow. That's not what this is.

This is an absolutely beautiful warm, creamy, sweet and fluffy woodsy scent that is totally addictive. When i first tested this I wasn’t sure, but the dry down sold it to me. It smells like what I wished Replica’s By the Fireplace smelt like. It is also surprisingly sexy, and leans very similar to the Bianco Latte lactonic sweet notes that I adore. If you like Bianco Latte, and like woodsy scents, you will definitely like this. It has decent lasting power, and it is in the dry down that the most sweetness and ‘milk’-like scent comes through, but is definitely not going to be leaving a scent trail or projecting massively. This is definitely a perfume for wearing at home, in bed or cuddling up with a partner. Delicious!

wow! the Milk line might be my favourite from the whole Commodity collection. i think Milk- is the perfect scent for when you're winding down & in bed. the milk and marshmallow notes are kind of nostalgic and calming, like white rabbit candy, but the musk and woods make it dry and cozy, and comforting. it's a kind of 'cute' scent, musky, sweet and milky, and smells clean. musk+wood+milky marshmallow. as per most of the Personal line i can't really smell it unless my nose is right up to my wrist. it's soothing, and the woods work so well with the creamy notes. the note in this that smells like Paper- (which i adore as well) persists even after a shower :0 though Milk expressive is completely gone

This is so gorgeous. It is comforting and warm, I love it. I picked the personal space one because I work closely with other folks in an office and don't want to overpower them- this is perfect. I smell it on myself for a solid 6 hours, and they smell it on me when they get close, but that is it. I carry a travel size one as well to reapply and enjoy all day. This is sweet and smoky- like coffee by the fireplace on a very cold day. I am one that is not into the soapy milky scents- This is Her and Cry Baby Milk smell sour to me- like a toddler minivan - so this is not soapy at all to me. This is smoky and sweet, and I love the Milk personal space- it is perfect for the office in winter.

Tested this in the store because I thought the name was funny (Milk Personal, lol) and was so pleasantly surprised that I ordered a whole Commodity tester kit. First time wearing on the skin, it does have an alcohol scent up close on first spray. Had no idea it was supposed to be like marshmallows when I first tried it, I get it now but I don't think that does it justice - it's just a lovely, sweet, milky fragrance, very mild and intimate as the name implies. Excited to use this regularly especially once it starts getting colder but I think it's mild and sweet enough for spring and summer use too. Looking forward to trying the other Milk strengths!

I love this scent so much. It's the perfect fall-winter fragrance. There is something so enjoyable with a personal skin-sweet woody scent. sometimes you don't need crazy projection. I love wearing this after a hot late-night shower, right before bed. its also a great layering fragrance. and perfectly unisex As for what it smells like: a warm bowl of residue milk after eating all the sweet cereal. the background scents of fall and wood compliment the sweet marshmallow milk scent so well a great 50 / 50 balance. I cant wait to get the full bottle im completely sold! **please do a full wear test cause body chemistry does influence the scent**

Was after this perfume for months and was thrilled to be able to try the Milk trio. Milk- is such a lovely fragrance. I commend Commodity for being able to particularly nail the 'chilled' lactonic note -- it is identical to an icy vanilla milkshake or cold plain half & half. Super intimate and super creamy, with a sweet powdery afterthought that smells exactly like opening a fresh bag of marshmallows. Wonderful inoffensive daytime fragrance that works for all spaces. One of my favourite perfumes in my collection and an extremely close second to the 'next level' Milk.

It almost- but never does- cross the line into the too foody too greasy gourmand overdone vibe I Like it. alot. It smells like a baby, soft, lactonic, and sweet clean musk. exactly as the notes describ then that strong cedar, fall, woddy sharper musk peeks through as it dries down Its close to the skin and i love this perfume for that reason, its not heavy and in your face, and not all perfumes need to be. (I don’t like the Expressive and Bold versions of this fragrance for that reason) right out the shower on a fall morning I reach for this.

Reminds me of baking rice krispy squares during Christmas with my mom as a kid, licking the sticky marshmallow off of a wooden spoon. First sample in the Commodity Exploration Kit I’m reviewing and I personally LOVE this scent. It’s a very light gourmand scent that is like a mix of marshmallow and cashmere with a slight woody note. It lasts for hours but isn’t over powering. No toothaches here! It’s light enough that I would throw this into a regular daily rotation for sure. This makes me super excited to try the rest of this kit

Smells just like White Rabbit Creamy Candy! Very nostalgic, testing it in cool weather currently and it smells divine. I think it leans slightly feminine as it doesn't have a strong woody note to give it depth but I prefer it that way. I don't think the scent is very strong (I do only use one spray on my writs, I dabbed the excess on my neck) but it has lasted a good 6-8 hours on me. I have been on the hunt for a good milk/cream perfume and this is a very strong contender! I adore it.

So I actually did not like the Milk expressive because there was a plastic note in it to me even though it was still sweet and milky. However I am blown away because this one is so perfect! It really doesn’t have the plastic smell that and it is really a subtle sweet marshmallow skin scent. I really enjoy this one, I can’t wait to try it especially as a bedtime scent. It’s definitely what I wanted expressive to be like but I am happy that the profiles in each scent were different.

Milk- is a lighter, sweeter version of Milk. I honestly prefer this version because it's so much sweeter but the sileage and longevity just aren't as good as the OG Milk. Such a bummer. I would definitely go for this version if it wasn't so much lighter and softer. Unfortunately, I just need my perfumes to perform better than this - longer, stronger. But the scent itself is DIVINE. VERY milky and sweet. And it WORKS. Rating: 9/10 (Docking a point for performance)

Musks are hit or miss on my skin so I was surprised to fall in love with this Milk - sample from the Commodity exploration kit. The opening notes are quite musky on me but quickly fade into a sweet, ambery, slightly woody scent. It's definitely a skin scent but I prefer more intimate fragrances. I do think the longevity is decent though and was still getting whiffs of it after 4-5 hours. Smells delicious when mixed with Nemat Amber oil too FYI!

I went through the Commodity Discovery Kit and I was repelled by the Milk line. And then for some reason, I kept thinking about the scent and coming back to it, and now I'm hooked. Spare bottle ready. I do prefer the mild Milk- and I love to wear it around the house, how it clings to my sweatshirts and blankets and feels like the scent of a snuggle. It is gourmand with some marshmallow, but it's also a bit bitter and I love that.

This is very similar to Milk Expressive, just toned down. I expected this to be less woody than Expressive but at least on me, it's not-- it's pretty much identical, just sits a bit closer to the skin (as intended). If you haven't smelled this or Expressive, it's predominantly sweet/marshmallow but has a strong woody, slightly smoky note that makes it almost unisex. I love it. Both suitable for cooler weather.

I feel like this is the best scent in the world. This smells so natural to me.. like soft, sweet, warm skin. It doesn’t feel like you’re wearing fragrance- which I love. It’s so warm and cozy, but still elevated and elegant. I would consider this to be a safe blind buy. It really blooms as the day goes on. It becomes warmer and projects really well. I have really fallen in love with Commodity.

I wish this was more long lasting, but given how much I like it and the reasonable price, I can forgive that. Very reminiscent of Replica By The Fireplace sans the sharp hit of smoke. Balanced between sweet, musky, and woody without any notes truly dominating the others. It juuuust skirts the line of being a gourmand. A sensual and agreeable all-rounder that smells like comfort in a bottle.

Mmmm. Sweet, lactonic, creamy on the initial spray. A hint of woodiness quickly blends in, but it’s totally fine, doesn’t throw anything off. Everybody looking for a sweet creamy milk scent needs to check this out ASAP. I definitely want to pick up a bottle. Imagine the blends you could pull off with this. 😍 It dries down with a good amount of amber.

I used to dislike this but it’s quickly becoming one of my favorite winter scents. I’ve been wearing my sample to bed and it’s perfect for a cozy setting. It’s very light, comforting and genuinely smells like milk but a really sweet, delicious, powdery milk. Milk Bold is more for a night out, this is more for a night in or a casual winter hangout

Tasty smelling scent. I find the combo of amber/wood and milk very interesting. It smells like camping early fall. The scent is smooth, friendly and simple. Perhaps that is why I don't use it that often because it doesn't carry that wow moment. While it is very pleasant I don't think I would be able to remember the smell few years later.

I don't like overly sweet or cloying perfumes. I do not find this to be too sweet! Its a lovely milky campfire scent. My boyfriend loves it on me, second only to YSL Libre le parfum. I much prefer Milk- to Milk+ which is smokier with no sweet or milky notes, though I do like it. I find Milk- less linear which I prefer.

This is my favorite kind of gourmand, smells like whipped cream or milk and sugar. For me it smelled more sugary than marshmallowy. Perfect for days when you just want to smell clean and sweet. Reminds me of Phlur Heavy Cream and I love that body spray, so I'm excited to try this layered over it.

I’m just getting into perfumes and I went to Sephora, tried everything they had and bought this one in a travel size. I’ve been wearing it everyday since, I look forward to putting it on every morning. It’s very warm and sweet and I’ll be getting a full bottle when I finish the travel size up :)

The expressive version of Milk if you remove half of the juice and replace it with Iso E Super. Milk and Milk + can be a bit cloying and overly sweet (but Milk - will have none of that!). There is still the sweet, creamy, lactonic woods - it’s just not as prevalent or loud as the other two.

I love the entire scent space for Milk. Milk- is an airy sweet Milk and skin musk cloud. I love this if I'm going to be around people that can't tolerate perfume in colder months and also for bedtime. I find it to be sweeter, lighter, and closer to the skin than Expressive. Love!

This is truly the best milk fragrance imo, specifically the personal one!!! It's the perfect amount of throw and sweet and I freaking love it so much I will always reach for her. She makes me feel sophisticated af but also like a sexy little kitten sorrrrryyyyyyy!

ok so there's a very VERY CHEESY quality to only this version of the milk perfume. maybe it has something to do with my skin chemistry but it smells a lot like cheesecake which is not a bad thing and why i actually enjoy this one over the other two versions.

Milky sweetness with woody accords that stop it from being too sickly. Dries down to a lovely marshmallowy cream with a touch of resin. A really great everyday scent, it feels neutral and delicate.

Very similar to the other Milks just lighter projection, less woody. Probably the most feminine leaning of the 3 but still unisex. Cosy, comforting. Definitely a skin scent.

This is amazing. Now I know why reviews talk about the woody note. Its beautifull. Love it. Its personal space but this is strong delicious marshmallo milky scent.

This perfume is so cozy! My first thought was I'm Olaf and I love warm hugs 🤗. Pair great with snowflakes and cashmere from Bath and Body works.

This may as well be named "Sugary wood and amber." It is so woody & sugary. It isn't as soft and powdery as I expected.

Question: Milk - or This is Her?

I have all four milk variants in the tester vials by commodity, i am going to buy one of these but am testing out which version it's going to be. I use perfume by spraying one spray on my wrist and putting my wrists together (not rubbing, just dividing the liquid). Yesterday i used milk orchid, today i use milk -. Milk - feels comforting, not overly sweet and clearly has a milk tone to me. But i can't smell it while typing this on my phone, eventhough i just sprayed it and i am not wearing sleeves. It is thát intimate. I am not anosmic because i can smell it when holding my wrist closer to my face. To compare to milk orchid, which can be smelled across the room with the same way of applying. I actually had to wash it off this morning after applying yesterday morning (also one spray on the wrists). I like the smell of milk - more, but it's too intimate for me to buy because i don't want to have to overspray any perfume. Tomorrow i am going to use the normal milk version.

I have a 2ml sample for exchange, dm me if you’re interested! What a comforting hug smells like. I usually don't expect much from perfumes that can be found at shopping malls because they can be generic, but this one stands out. Photorealistic fluffy milk, no marshmallow detected. Very warm and light, unapologetically lactonic, unlike most other milk perfumes that add vanilla or sweet notes to appeal to the masses. I feel like people don't talk enough about the amber and woody notes cuz they're the key factors that make the milkiness so deliciously real. Would've consider a fb had it not turn sour like spoiled milk on my skin. My mum tried this and it smells amazing on her though, so please test before buy. Overall 9/10, it's worth the hype! Haven't try Milk+ yet but now I'm intrigued. This one is still my favourite out of the three.

This is definitely the most lactonic of the milk trilogy, in the best possible way. The initial spray is all cold, clean milk, then as it settles the marshmallow comes in and sweetens things up, with just the slightest hint of coconut. As time goes on the musk becomes more prominent, with just a light underlying woodiness. It’s such a cozy scent, perfect for autumn and winter. I originally preferred the milk+ because there’s a *lot* more marshmallow in that one, but there’s also less milk so in a way it’s less true to its name. Having tried this one again, I think milk- might actually be perfect. It’s nowhere near as strong, which is the whole point, but it still projects nicely and lasts a good while. I can’t fault this one; it does exactly what it says on the bottle.

I love the opening! The milk and marshmallow are scrumptious, but then the woods come in and ruin it! Why do so many perfumers feel the need to add all that extra stuff? Don’t get me wrong sometimes I like extra, but sometimes a scent doesn’t need woodiness, leather, spice or smokiness! Let’s leave well enough alone. It’s a nice perfume, but I want to get back to that gorgeous opening. Btw, on me this lasts! I sprayed 2 sprays 5 hours ago and it’s still going strong! Milk what? More like Spicy, Smokey Milk. It’s nice, but not the Milk I was expecting. Edit: I actually really like the dry down. If I didn’t have so many perfumes, especially spicy, woody, and I could afford this, I would buy a full bottle, it goes really well with my chemistry.

this smells nearly identical to milk expressive, but it has less of that sharp, woody-ness that can make milk expressive come off as plasticky or medicinal to some. milk- definitely has lighter projection, but in a cozy way. i see lots of people saying they can barely smell it, but i wonder if they are anosmic to some of the musk notes, because i can smell it just fine. just like milk expressive, milk- is creamy, ambery, and woody. i'm not sure which one i prefer, given that i loved the longevity and potency of milk expressive. after a full day of wear, the original smell that you get when you apply this is still there, whereas for the expressive version, the longevity was a bit poorer and it smelled more like marshmallow as it wore off.

I find that all perfumes I’ve tried with a “milk” note have a plastic rubbery scent to them, including Commodity’s Milk. Idk if the consensus in the fragrance industry is that milk smells like burnt rubber, but to me this doesn’t smell anything like milk is suppose to. That being said I adore this perfume and I don’t mind the plastic scent with this one, because it makes up for it with the fluffy, sweet marshmallow. The plastic scent then becomes a background character and lets the marshmallow shine. Idk why but this perfume gives me a “your skin but better” vibe just aimed at gourmand girls. It has great longevity but poor projection, though that might be a good thing if you get headaches easily or can't wear loud perfumes at work. <3
