Milk +

For those who don't know, Commodity has recently relaunched all of their fragrances in 3 levels of intensities; Personal, Expressive and Bold. This gives the consumer the option to choose how strong or soft they want their fragrance. They refer to it as their "Scent Space" project. As soon as i received my sample, i immediately sprayed Milk+(Bold) because i LOVE a powerful scent. Milk+(Bold) contains notes of Skin Musk, Tonka Bean, Mahogany Wood, Firewood and Amber. Upon first spray, i was madly in love. It wasn't the creamy and Milky fragrance i imagined, but it smelled like creamy, spicy woods. As odd as it sounds, it's really divine. It smells like a spicy woody dessert. Now i know you're thinking "That would taste so disgusting", and you're probably right lol. But the smell alone is delicious! Milk-(Personal) and Milk(Expressive) aren't as spicy, but you get more of that creamy and milky marshmallow. I had to give the personal and expressive Milk fragrance multiple wears because Milk+ was so bold, the other two almost smelled like nothing to my nose. But speaking of Milk+, the performance was PHENOMENAL! I got 9 hours on my skin with up to 4 feet of sillage in the first 5 hours of wear. It is my favorite and definitely a must have for the fall/ winter season. I had recently cancelled my order for the Milk(Expressive) full bottle, and I'm glad i did because Milk+ has my name written all over it. Scent: 10/10 Packaging: 7/10 Performance: 9/10

Sweet, powdery, warm spicy, woody, with minimal lactonic facets. Very pretty and interesting for a marshmallow/milk dominant perfume and totally different from other marshmallow perfumes that I have tried so far! I will give it that, it has the most dull bottle designs and colouring, but Milk + might be my favourite marshmallow scent. I have bought a travel size to try and I like what I am smelling. Obviously, before stating things like that I will have to compare it against my Sintra and Oriana samples, but this is strong, it’s nice from opening to dry down and it’s fairly affordable compared to the offerings from the other two brands. A woodsy, spicy marshmallows! For me, this scent is leaning towards feminine side, but it might work well for men who use unisex scents, on the sweet, creamy side of perfumes. The woody facets are prominent, as well as the amber and a spicy accent. Don’t know what creates this, but I am really tempted ( personal speculation) to say Milk + has cardamom in the mid or base notes... Beautiful and cozy, warm and soft ( but not in performance) and the type of perfume that I would wear during a rainy, fall/spring day. If you like scents like Gris Charnel or Crystal Noir by Versace, give this Commodity scent a sniff. You might discover something really comparable but creamier and less fruity/floral! From my experience, these three fragrances coexist closely in the same universe..

It's sweet smoky marshmallows and campfire woods for the most part. I think it's more feminine than Milk Expressive, since mahogany has always struck me as more of a masculine wood, and the creamy firewood in this is more intensive. It's not overly feminine tho, this would suit a man quite well too. I'm so glad this isn't just a woodsy scent, this works perfectly fine as a winter/fall gourmand as well, which is why I picked it up. It smells like sitting by the campfire, roasting marshmallows and looking up at a clear starry sky while the northern lights are out. It's also one of those perfumes that you still get whiffs of on your hair even after a shower. Insanely strong and long lasting, as intended given Milk+ Bold is meant to be the stronger version of Milk Expressive. I love me my head turners, but if you hate those, I'd recommended Milk- Personal or the original Expressive. Edit: I think they fixed the website and made it more consistent with the paper that comes with the fragrance. Top notes are sesame seed, middle are milk and marshmallow, and base are firewood, tonka bean, and mahogany wood. Deleted my guess on the notes.

i love it. sweet, smoky, woody, and lactonic. out of the entire milk line, this is my favorite. in NO WAY is this scent cloying or overly smoky. the perfect balance of everything. initial spray was giving, as my boyfriend described it, the smell of auntie anne's when you're walking in the mall. quite literally heaven. as it dries down the firewood accord and amber come through and completely evolve this scent into a campfire setting. NOT in that awful, campfire smoke blowing in your face kind of way, but rather slightly over-toasting your marshmallow and seeing it have that perfect golden brown with a few darker spots. -- this stuff STICKS to clothing in the best way possible. i sprayed myself in sephora and my hoodie still smells like it even after 3 days (i did laundry today and could smell it wafting up as i was putting it into the washing machine). on skin it lasts over 8 hours with GREAT projection then it becomes more of personal scent bubble after that then down to a skin scent. 10/10 i literally have no quarrel with this scent. i applaud you commodity, for your contribution to the fragrance world and to my collection.

Milk+ is almost identical to the original, "Expressive" Milk. Of all of COMModity's scents, I think Milk is my favorite. A truly lactonic, warm, creamy and sweet fragrance with decent lasting power. Unique and truly mouth-wateringly gourmand. There's a light, sweet, almost cherry opening in this + "Bold" version that the original doesn't have, and there is a bit more woodiness and smokiness. As a result, the projection is slightly larger, but not by much. You can read my full thoughts on the "Scent Space" concept on my review for Book- "Personal" edition, but overall I just don't find the difference between the 3 versions to be big enough. On paper there's a noticeable difference in strength, but on skin they all smell and project nearly exactly the same. You would expect, with the marketing, that the + "Bold" versions would be bombs. But with the exception of Velvet+ (which TRULY fills a room) none of the Bold scents are markedly different from their original counterparts. And with the difference in price, I would save the $20 and just buy the original "Expressive" version.

the notes listed here are misleading. on commodity’s website, they’re listed as warm marshmallow, toasted sesame, mahogany wood, tonka bean, amber, and firewood. in my opinion, the smoky element needs to be emphasized more as that’s the primary difference between the bold and expressive versions. in any case, this fragrance is exactly what i wanted it to be. i tried a sample of milk expressive and wished it had leaned more into the woody/smoky element, more like toasted marshmallows. this delivers on that perfectly, plus the sillage and longevity are much better as you’d expect. i wore it overnight and was able to smell it as soon as i woke up. it starts off strongly with the smoky mahogany wood and slowly cools down over time into sweet toasted marshmallow. at no point is it overly sweet, but it’s always warm and cozy. IM in love! i adore how commodity alters their formulas slightly like this, otherwise this fragrance wouldn’t exist in this form!

wow!!! I like this. a very well done addition of firewood. the firewood is actually a bit photorealistic. It enhanced the warmth and decadence of this fragrance. this is far more indulgent and deep than classic Milk. it's delicious. that being said, it strays from the "milk" concept completely - this is firewood and burnt marshmallow, not milk. as someone who likes a bit of feminine sweetness, it is tough for me to decide which one I would actually buy because even though I like this smell more I like the sweetness in classic Milk. It does seem more wearable. It's crazy though, I sprayed classic Milk on and compared to this one it seems so faint even though on its own its indulgent itself. I'll have to test them both throughout a whole day out to see which I tolerate more. cudos to the longevity and sillage, I just went grocery shopping and showered and it's still faintly on my wrists. this will definitely last on clothes which I like!

Tried this tester today. It’s not something I would typically go for but I can’t seem to get enough. Closest thing in comparison is by the fireplace but I’d say this is like a more feminine version of it - sweeter, less smoky, creamier. Smells more like powdery leather than campfire smoke. I love by the fireplace but I feel it’s too masculine (and strong) for me to wear in public, but I love it around the house. I might actually wear this in public. It’s strong though, I sprayed 3 sprays on my wrist to test it and that was a bit much. At home, I’d be ok with 3 sprays. In public, only 1! The ingredients listed here aren’t quite what I’m smelling. The original milk description is closer to what I’m getting. I LOVE cedar & sadly I’m not getting cedar. Leathery, mossy forest with a wildfire in the background maybe, yes. Mahogany, yes. After at least an hour the marshmallow really came through. Yum.

Every night before bed, I find myself reaching for the same two bottles—L’Homme Idéal by Guerlain and Milk+ by Commodity. It’s become more than just a habit; it’s become a quiet ritual, something that marks the end of my day and eases me into rest. There’s something about this combination that feels emotionally satisfying. It reminds me of comfort like warm custer desserts, soft heavenly bed, maybe even the safe, quiet moments from childhood. But it also feels sensual without being loud and indulgent without being overwhelming. It’s become my scent of winding down. Of closing the door on the start of the world and returning to myself. I love the way this pairing makes me feel. Not just how it smells, but the calm it brings. It’s a scent that feels like a deep exhale from the mouth.

I can’t live in a world where this fragrance doesn’t exist. I want body wash and lotion. I don’t care the season, I will be wearing this, or layering it. Beautiful smoky, creamy, woody, powerful scent. Perfectly blended lactonic, woody, sweet suede. I guess I understand the incense in some of the reviews but I don’t feel like it’s heavy in that regard. More roasted marshmallow camp fire, but in the best way. Slightly clean suede as well. Lasts on my skin for 8+ hours, which is a feat because my skin eats all. I want to swim in this. If discontinued I will contemplate my existence. If you are a gourmand lover and want something different than a fruit-chouli, this is for you. Large bottle with magnetic lid. Three spritz genius. Do it. Just buy it. Take all my money, Commodity.

I go crazy for this scent. I would test it all the time in Sephora (bold version) and finally got it for myself - a small size off eBay or Mercari. I had to look up the notes since I can’t detect them from sniffing. My initial impression is cinnamon, vanilla, milk, and a little bit of woods. I don’t get marshmallow, but if I heard there was vanilla in there (there isn’t) I would think it was sweet for that reason. I don’t know white cedar from cedar, nor can I tell what kind of musk is present (the animalic kind? The soapy kind?), and I don’t get amber like I can pick out amber in other fragrances. It reminds me a lot of Land of Aahs’ take on Lush Turmeric Latte. I don’t get the synthetic dry-down others have mentioned. Just gourmand, intoxicating creaminess.

Don't get the hate for this at all! I have loved this since I first sniffed it and immediately picked it up. Smells like a comforting smoky (not too much) sweet marshmallowy vanilla to my nose. SO strong upon first spray & it quickly fills up a room. Extremely long lasting and gets even sweeter as time passes. It is so unique to my collection, I own so many sweet perfumes and nothing I have smells like this. If you love vanilla's and want to try something different I would highly suggest giving this a try. Lasts forever on clothes. One of the most beast mode fragrances I own. I honestly love it so much and am so glad I didn't listen to the negative reviews and tried it on for myself especially since I cherish this so much now <3

Milk+ is chef's kiss. This is where I get the perfumers description of a fall day around the fire toasting marshmallows for s'mores. It is all of the same creamy sweet deliciousness from Milk Expressive infused with the warmth of the amber and the smokey firewood. Great warm fragrance for winter nights. I'm surprised that the smoke is not an option for notes as this is one of the added notes from Expressive to Bold that really distinguished the two. I love Milk+ and wish I had more opportunities to wear it. Lightly sprayed, this is amazing paired with The Wedding VELVET Santal from Kayali. Be careful with application though because this can choke you out. Love Milk+!

I really like this fragrance! It does smell differently to how it does on a sprayed tester though. (Paper testers seem to show just the sweeter smoky marshmallow scent). The actual scent starts off with a slightly strong sesame scent and then fades into a rich and warm roasted marshmallow. I will say that the starter sesame scent is not my favorite but if you give it a few minutes - it goes away to where it isn’t as strong and throughout the whole rest of the day you are left with the beautiful warm milky toasted marshmallow. Overall, I love this scent and how cozy it is. It only needs one spray and it’s the perfect scent for winter/cold seasons :)

My favourite of the 3 expressions. I found the regular one doesnt last at all on my skin but this one lasts really well and has that perfect balance of woodiness that offsets the otherwise super sweet marshmallow note. I'm going through a lactonic, marshmallow phase so this really hits all the spots for me. The marshmallow and lactonic notes also keep the fragrance from leaning more masculine, i think it's unisex with an ever so slight feminine lean from the level of sweetness at the opening (dry down is perfectly unisex IMO). Super comforting, perfect for winter and cozy. Highly reco if those are things your looking for.

Though the marketing seems to be mostly targeted towards women, I would confidently say this a slightly feminine leaning unisex fragrance. The opening is like a warm marshmallow that has been slightly browned over a campfire but then develops into an amazing amber wood musk that almost teeters on the edge of a masculine fragrance but definitely remains unisex. It has a great longevity and I smell it on my clothes until I wash them, it easily lasts 10+ hours on skin and has decent projection. If you’re a man and want something easy to wear and unique to wear on date night this would be my go to suggestion.

love this!! personally, I get quite a lot of powder which makes it feminine. That probably comes from the marshmallows. This is milky in the sense that it kinda smells like hot chocolate. Its also kinda sour. It's sorta hidden in the marshmallow accord which is very strong, btw. That's what hits me first. Other than that, this is very woody and warm. I can't picture this on a man really, but honestly if a dude around me was wearing this I'd 100% bag like say less. Very sweet, but it works! To me, it's not fiery or burnt, just woody. Edit: let macerate for 2 weeks and it packs much more of a punch

I had been considering getting milk expressive after I had sprayed it on myself at Sephora and was sniffing my coat for days longing for that marshmallow deliciousness. However, I was hesitant to purschase because of the screechy, near offensive opening milk note. Idk why it took me so long to see how Milk bold smelled, but I would have purchased it on the spot had I known it was everything I wanted from the expressive without the harsh opening milk note. This scent is everything I wanted and more. Highly, highly recommend, especially if you find milk notes to smell spolied?

heavy on the wood and amber. on an initial spray, the lactonic marshmallow sweetness is there, but very subtle. as it dries down more the marshmallow comes out and does remind me also of cereal milk. something in it ALSO heavily reminds me of the dove vanilla shea butter bath milk. i did 2 sprays and it's enough to make my throat tickle. this is a true late autumn, all winter scent. you will struggle to wear it outside of that period. but honestly otherwise i love this scent. come next autumn i might treat myself to a bigger bottle as i got travel size for now.

Pretty much just a stronger version of the OG Milk! The opening is a bit harsh in my opinion, but it dries down and relaxes after a couple minutes. I would say Milk+ is much more woody and smokey, but the original Milk DNA with that sweet marshmallow and cold milk is absolutely still there. The projection on this version is BEAST mode! This is how I wish Milk would project and last. When I finish my bottle of Milk, I think I'll repurchase Milk+ instead because the performance is MILES better on this version! Rating: 10/10

I have a travel size of this and it is so addicting to me. I put on a sweatshirt that I previously sprayed this on, and just the hint of it from last time I wore it made me want to put on more. It's the smell of a marshmallow that you just pulled out of the fire and put on a s'more. Like the taste of biting into the s'more while you're camping, with a little bit of that woody note in the background. It does smell really sweet, so that's mainly what you'll get from this fragrance, but I love it. Need a full bottle BAD

This smells almost food/dessert-like on my skin! It opens with a sweet, woody/smokey blast but dries down to a lactonic, milky, amber marshmallow! It reminds me of cinnamon toast crunch and the lush super milk line. I would actually love to pair this with the lush super milk hair conditioner spray. Longevity alone makes this frag full bottle worthy, imo. Perfect for fall and winter as a casual, everyday fragrance. Wouldn't wear for special occasions, however, as it's not very refined, complex, or sophisticated.

Someone below said it smells like those cinnamon toast cereals and i must agree. Now im shocked that i love this fragrance because i DESPISE cinnamon,i HATE the note and the taste and everything but this? I know theres no cinnamon but the combination of lactonic notes and wood notes mix up to give it that vibes but omg its so delicious. but besides that the longevity and sillage is a beast. Will repurchase as soon as the bottle gets empty idgaf that its gonna be summer soon.

I bought the sample set and didn’t like it, I found it too woody and I didn’t get any sweet creaminess, but I think this needs air to it for it to develop and intensify, when I came back to the samples it was a love, I bought the full size of the Milk Bold and I can’t wait to wear it over Halloween, bonfire night and Christmas. Perfect winter scent, sweet musky smooth and comforting. Now I’ve ordered samples for all the other scents to try. This is dangerous!

It smells a tad chemical/synthetic when I spray it on but pretty quickly develops those marshmallow + milk notes. It's my first lactonic perfume and it was a surprising experience to smell milk on myself haha. As the hours pass it develops into a really sexy, warm, woody fragrance, while still holding some of that initial sweetness. I like gourmands but sometimes find them a little overly feminine for my taste, but this is much more unisex in my opinion.

So I have received my 5 ml sample a couple of days ago having never smelled this before and it is EXACTLY what I was expecting and it certainly didn't disappoint!! It is creamy, lactonic, warm scent. The longevity is amazing, I sprayed it yesterday and I woke up this morning still feeling a gentle trace of it on my wrist! LOVE! Having tried different lactonic scents before, this one is the best for me. Very straightforward, creamy milk and I love it!

Anyone else go anosmic to this? I didn’t love this for the first few years I had a sample (of all the Milks—they just didn’t do it for me). One day this year, I tried it again and became obsessed. But after wearing it regularly for a while, I’m now almost totally anosmic to it. Has this happened to anyone else? Before that happened, I found it very strong. Now I can drench myself in it and barely smell it. Never had this happen before.

I was expecting it to smell like milk but I can't smell the lactonic note anywhere, It smells more like ambery vanilla with woody notes mix with mild warm caramel. Performance is amazing, so much so that I sprayed my sweater with it later my entire room smelled of it, and it's a great layering perfume. Although it doesn't smell like what I wanted (milky) it's a unique gourmand. My only qualm about this scent is that it's expensive.

The opening with the marshmallow, milky notes in this are so good I can't get enough of it. The dry down is quite nice as well. The sweet and woody notes mixed together doesn't come off as burnt marshmallow next to a camp fire to me, but I do enjoy it. I just wish I could have the opening of this fragrance throughout the entire time of me wearing it. Had to purchase a bottle of it after I went through my sample.

ohhh, i adore this scent. i was hesitant about the marshmallow accord but it actually isn't too sweet. if anything, it's a bit sharp actually, but i don't think that's bad in this case. it's very unisex, not leaning too masculine or too feminine for me, and practically radiates comfort. musky, reminiscent of getting cozy beside the fireplace. i will likely be buying a bigger size when my sample runs out!!

Tonka bomb! I don't know why this doesn't include tonka in the notes when it's so obvious, and mentioned on their website! Gorgeous, enormous sillage, ambery tonka with a milky note and a lot of sweetness. The sweetness dies back a little after about half an hour, but it's still really quite sweet. I had to buy a fb of this in the end, it's really more-ish! Smells like tonka icecream

I got this in a subscription box and I was disappointed because I had hoped to get the original Milk without the extras. But turns out I love this. It’s warm and sweet but not cloying. It protects well with only a few sprays and lasts a very long time. I truly feel that this full bottle worthy. Now I need to try other Commodity fragrances because this exceeded my expectations.

This is exquisite! Utterly gorgeous scent that must be clearly distinguished from commodity’s other Milk options. This has none of the heavy mahogny tones of Expressive which dominates that perfume and is overtly masculine-instead it’s the true milk perfume of the three. Think cold milk and roasting marshmallows . So easily a signature and beautiful to live in

Well it smells amazing. It's a very INTERESTING delicious smell. It isn't a straightforward gourmand, to my nose anyway. It has a clever complexity that pairs well with the marshmallow deliciousness. It's like a friend who loves you enough to comfort you but also tell you you're an idiot and should dump him. It's that kind of fragrance: it's got your back.

love this frag. it starts out sweet and sharp and dries down to a lovely woody amber. it lasts forever on clothes. i’ve only ever tried the bold but be careful, it’s STRONG. if i spray more than once i get nauseous. a few months ago there was a woman wearing this a few rows down from me on a plane and i felt sick the entire ride lol

Ok bear with me here As soon as I smelled this on my skin I was tossed back to 1998. Picture it. Disneyland. Rainbow mickey lollipop. I don't smell any cinnamon, no vanilla, only a blast of nostalgic sweet but tart lactonic SOMETHING. Absolutely wild throwback. That one lady is right on here, I want to spray it in my mouth.

This is a pure love for me. It’s one that I’ll miss over spring and summer and rejoice when fall comes back around. I love milk expressive but it’s so faint to my nose. This one, I can smell the creamy marshmallow, hint of cinnamon, toasted vanilla, milky goodness for much longer! It’s a win for me.

Very sweet, woody, lactonic amber. Smells beautiful and gourmand. Scent evolution is quite linear imho, but I feel like that works really well for this fragrance. I've always seen commodity stuff as something to layer with. This layers quite well with Bianco Latte! Also very versatile.

I think it’s definitely a bit different from the other two Milks. It’s stronger and I think it’s more chemically and alcohol-y 😅 but also a bit more woody. Still sweet and a little musky. I wish it was smokier and less chemically, but as the day has gone on I’ve come to like it more.

I love this perfume. It does give a “strong” maybe even a bit masculine vibe, but it’s lovely. I put on like two sprays on my wrists at 11:30 and I still felt the fragrance 12 hours later after washing my hands a couple of times and doing other house chores. My partner also liked it.

Literal marshmallow on fire at the campfire scent. That's it. 1:1 There's a deeper complexity to it but I mean, it's really perfect even if there wasn't lol Very unisex. Very in its own lane. Sexy and subtle but strong. Can a lactone gourmand fall in love with straight smoke? (Yes)

Vanilla, spicy, woodsy.. like a lit match when you blow it out. Sweet on the dry down. Definitely unisex, definitely prefer the bold+, over the other formulations. I love this scent. Add coffee layer for a real treat. It is lactonic, but not in that Greek yogurt spoiled cream way.

OK so this perfume is borderline eternal! I had it on my wrists and sprayed Mugler Alien We are All Alien flanker over top and after a few hours I STILL smelled Milk Bold even though I had sprayed it like 11 hours before it, and it wasn't just a skin scent!

Basically the same as Milk Expressive but with a sharper smokey quality and more staying power. Very clearly a vanilla marshmallow fragrance but not in a cloying way, more like the powder they leave behind on your fingers. Smells nothing like milk

I really like this one, its cozy and sweet in a mature way. I cant detect any specific notes, its very well blended. I could smell it fpr 3 hours on myself but others complimented me after 7 hours wearing it. Im a oversprayer in clothes. 8/10

Gourmand for people who generally don't love gourmands (or like me, if vanilla-forward perfumes make you feel nauseous). Definitely woodsy and musky, especially as it dries down but for me, it balances out the sweetness really well.

Very sharp and borderline offensive at first. However, once it settles into the skin after approx. 30-45 min, it becomes beautiful. Creamy, milky, warm, fuzzy, woody goodness. I think it's worth the headache-inducing opening notes.

quickly became one of my favorite scents. smells much more complex than the notes depict. milky without that sour note that can sometimes happen. I get a lot of tonka in this. I think of black tie parties and snowflakes at night.

The marshmallow note pops right away with the first spray, but it fades almost immediately into the woody, musky base. Someone said it was horchata in a perfume bottle and honestly, that’s a pretty good comparison lol

Exquisite. Wanted to lick myself it smelled so good. Smelled like a marshmallowey sweet sunny field. I mean it's a crisp summer morning and the sun is just beaming down on that field. I'm already getting withdrawals.
