Milk

I think a lot of people are dissatisfied with this scent because they are gourmand lovers and they feel somewhat betrayed by the name “milk” - though it is based on a food/drink it is NOT a gourmand fragrance. So gourmand lovers beware, this is not a sweet, fluffy two-note accurate milk scent. I found this fragrance to be a wonderfully complex experience. Upon the first spray there’s a slight tang that comes through. after a few seconds its dry-down is quite soft. There’s a sweet wood note at the base that grounds this fragrance nicely, there’s a whisper of marshmallow and tonka bean that sits at the top giving it that slight sweet pleasantness - if you’re looking for a stronger marshmallow this is not the fragrance for you. Generally I find woody-amber scents to be too strong for me but in Milk, they’re quite sweet and fluffy. It’s quite a powdery wood without smelling too dry which definitely rounds it out nicely. I’m not smelling a whole lot of amber in this, I assume it comes out a lot more in the bold version. After about an hour its sweetness dies down, and leaves the wood standing out a lot more, There’s the slightest musk to it at this point, I don’t know if I like it just yet - it almost reminds me of the scent on my clothes and skin after I’ve just washed the dishes. It’s longevity and projection isn’t as strong as I would like it to be, if you want the sweet, cosy, smooth notes from the initial spray to last you will have to constantly reapply throughout the day but even then the sweetness will keep fading and the more you apply it the stronger the wood note will be at its dry down. I was not disappointed by this fragrance but I do think it’s more complex than a lot of people anticipate. I love it personally and it’s my regular go-to fragrance when I want something cosy, light, and easy to wear.

So originally, I absolutely HATED this. I bought the Milk sample set at the end of August and I was SO disappointed. Like, I was genuinely gearing up to drag the hell out of this line. Both Milk Expressive and Bold smelt like burnt firewood and s’more’s to me, it was just WAY wayyy too smoky and spicy. I wasn’t getting any sort of lactonic from either of those, and I definitely wasn’t picking up cereal milk like I saw in a few reviews 🥲 I know everyone’s chemistry is different, but I still couldn’t understand how anyone was picking up what they were raving about. Personal was the most tolerable to me, but even that was just okay? I was getting this mossy vibe from it? It reminds me of freshly cut grass and it’s (like advertised) incredibly light, so the projection is almost nonexistent, imo. But I randomly decided to try Milk and Milk+ after a few weeks, and they weren’t as bad to my nose as they were initially. It grew on me a little. So I took a chance and ended up buying both large bottles of Milk and Milk Bold. Let me tell you...I don’t know if I’ve gaslighted my nose, but I’m somehow honestly really in love with both of them. It’s like this super creamy, slightly woody, marshmallow-y smell. I also can pick up on the Cinnamon Toast Crunch comparisons now ♥️ Personally, I prefer the Bold since it’s a lot more stronger but they’ve surprisingly both become my favorites in such a short time. I also love wearing these with Bath & Body Works’s Milk body mist and lotion. If you’re like me and really hated the smell initially, definitely keep it around and give it a few weeks or so to try them out again before making a firm decision.

This perfume smells exactly how I imagined it to be. Spicy, woody and creamy milk which I adore. I've been wanting this scent for a long time and I finally tried it. I immediately bought 30ml bottle cuz I feel like it will be my new favorite everyday perfume. As I love lactonic scents the most, I really liked it, but not everyone will like it cause it can be really overpowering. I can tell that I definitely smell musk here, on my skin it unfolds like a really comforting and soft note. It's not that sweet as people describe it to be but I love it even more like that. Just imagine a glass of warm milk with a lil bit of spices, it is exactly how it smells. I will try to mix it with some other perfumes to make it softer and I think it will be even better. Also my mom was complimenting me all day as I was wearing it. So my conclusion is that I can highly recommend this perfume to people who love scents with milk notes, but I would not recommend it to someone who don't like them that much. My opinion : 10/10❤️🩹

I am OBSESSED with this. I cannot get enough of this scent!!! This is absolutely the ideal lactonic scent-skin - it perfectly captures "milk" in a perfume. There is a coldness to this fragrance that is so unique, the only other perfume I've come across with this strong of a coldness is Yum Pistachio Gelato from Kayali (not that these two smell similar in any way). Milk is creamy, fluffy, chilled, lactonic, and just a tad bit sweet. Whatever musk they used in here is a PERFECT compliment to this composition. But, the star of the show is undoubtedly the mahogany - it richens and deepens the entire olfactory experience, providing beautiful grounding for the base notes. I wouldn't say this smells identical to milk persay, though it absolutely has that undertone, it's more a lactonic, milk-inspired skin-scent. Performance is moderate all the way through. HIGHLY recommend getting your nose on this if you like anything milky or musky! Rating: 10/10

I originally set this one aside after a quick snif, thinking it wasn’t for me, but after revisiting it with a more evolved nose a couple years later, I love it. Milk is a cozy, cold-weather skin scent that feels like curling up by a fireplace with a hot drink topped with whipped cream. I’m not getting much “milk” (thankfully because I really dislike the smell of warm cow’s milk), but instead a beautiful blend of almondy sweetness, soft woods, and a smooth cardamom-like warmth. It has a similar vibe to Bo by Liis or Hypnotic Poison by Dior, but with a smoother, sweeter core that makes it feel more appealing to me. The sweetness here never becomes sugary, just warm and softly gourmand, like steam rising. A perfect scent for cold weather, cozy nights, and anyone who wants a gentle gourmand without the dairy note.

Got a tester spray from Commodity and tried it out over multiple weeks. I didn’t like this at first, I didn’t really pick up on any milk initially, mainly I got tonka and marshmallow. But once the weather turned colder, this fragrance quickly grew on me. It’s a perfect low effort reach for when I’m lazing around at home in sweats, it’s very cozy and somehow makes me feel much more put together. But it’s also great at work, I’ve gotten a few compliments with it. I smell the milk as a gentle creaminess much more after it’s had a little time to develop on my skin. This became the first tester from my full Commodity discovery kit that I finished, and I’m looking forward to buying a bottle.

I've been looking for the whole in my heart to be filled by Brown Girl Jane's "Dusk" being discontinued . I've searched far & wide for a dupe ; honing in on notes & accords similar to it and being met with disappointment . But , with Commodity , I found BETTER ! Finally , my new signature scent . Dusk leaned more masculine on me which I didn't mind , but Milk is the perfect balance of masc/fem but leaning a little more fem . I'm DEFINITELY buying a full bottle ! I wonder how much stronger it is under the Bold line 🤔 DON'T TAKE THIS AWAY FROM ME ! 🫵🏾😳

Ouuu girl. I like never review perfumes on here but this is truly one of the nicest things I have ever smelled. It's a really deep and complex scent. For me, while I do get some woodiness, it only gives the perfume a nice, warm, inviting quality. For about five minutes after I spray, I do get a little more mahogany than I would like, but it dries down into a lovely warm, lactonic marshmallow. I wouldn't say this smells like a campfire marshmallow in the way that Milk+ does, but more of a warmed, golden brown marshmallow. It's a perfect creamy lactonic -- I think it would smell good on anybody, and is very gender neutral. GO BUY HER!

One of the most gorgeous, comforting, and well-crafted fragrances I've ever worn. I can only describe it as a photo-realistic, slightly powdery glass of cold milk that has a sweetness that seamlessly bleeds in more and more as it dries down. It then becomes a sweet, milky marshmallow that, again, gently bleeds into a more warm and toasted quality as it fades into the base. It finishes with a deep, dark woody quality that is very men's cologne-like, but still sweet enough to pass as a unisex scent. This scent has slowly but surely grown on me, and I now consider it one of my favorite fragrances and my signature fall/winter scent.

Hear me out: when I initially tried Commodity Milk, I absolutely despised it!! I was expecting something sweet and it wasn’t that at all; it smelled like a bonfire and musk and not in a good way. I ended up tossing it to my husband’s side of the dresser. Months later, I suddenly got the itch to try this fragrance again but with something sweet to (hopefully) balance it out. I’ve tried it with Phlur Vanilla Skin body mist and that was good. Let me tell you, Commodity Milk paired with the Frenshe Moon Milk lotion and body spray is absolutely out of this world! I’ve also tried it alone again and it’s definitely grown on me!

In 50 degrees or less, this is the most delicious toasted smokey marshmallow scent. It’s like a creamy toasted scent that shines in the cold. Highly recommend for those that experience cold temperatures. One spray on top of my clothes lasts me all day long. This doesn’t smell as marketed in warm weather, anything over 55 degrees! It’s actually a beast mode fragrance that’s very cloying in warm weather. Which makes sense given the denser notes of marshmallow, milk, tonka and mahogany. Not notes I’d want to smell like in the heat. Finally experiencing a cold front in my tropical climate so I am enjoying my sample. :)

On first spray I was in total shock of the woody notes. It was nothing like I expected. It felt too masculine and there was a chemically note I was not a fan of. I worried it might be headache inducing. But I gave it a fair go and sprayed it one evening. Wow how my opinions changed. This has become my all time favourite and I wear it almost daily as a a bed scent. To me it's the ultimate comfort. It's being at nans house, it's sitting at an old writing desk with thick heavy musty wooden drawers with a big glass of vanilla milkshake. It's a warming scents that gives you a hug. Truly unisex.

I've never seen such polarity in terms of WHAT people are actually smelling! Not their love/hate opinion, plenty of frags are divisive that way. Half get only smoky wood w little or no gourmand notes. The other half get vanilla, milk, tonka, marshmallow! It should be studied. QC inconsistency? I get masculine smoky mahogany which I kind of hate yet keep returning to it -- as if I'm hallucinating tonka and need to confirm. My 100ml is almost half empty from doing this! Like a bad boyfriend. By The Fireplace is much sweeter. I'd give it a 7/10 if you know what you're getting into.

This is a beautiful lactonic fragrance. It’s strong - so is a compliment getter. And I find it really does last quite well. It’s a cosy fall/winter perfume. The milk, tonka and slight sweetness from the marshmallow balanced out with the other notes. It’s not overly sweet. To me it was the most similar perfume I had found to give me a similar vibe of Jo Malone’s discontinued Oat and Cornflower and it is does have similarities. Same family.

I'm honestly surprised by how much I love this fragrance. I usually prefer big, powerful fragrances like Tobacco Honey, Poison, BR540, so I wasn't expecting to enjoy a milk fragrance. It is sweet and warm and spicy - this combo just activates all of the happy centers in my brain. This also makes a perfect layering combo. I never wear just one fragrance, and I love to layer this to help smooth out any harsh notes from other fragrances.

This smells nothing like milk or marshmallow to me- but a very strong wood. A pleasant and metallic wood- but wood, nonetheless. I had a travel spray and it lasted over a year- because less is more with this fragrance. It's very overpowering and long-lasting. I'd class this as solidly unisex. It's neither feminine or masculine, in my opinion. Overall- this is a very pleasant scent, but I don't think I'll spring for a bigger bottle.

I don’t care what anyone says, this is one of my favourite gourmands! I discovered it in NYC on my trip and it reminds of that time. The opening is a little harsh and rubbery but once it settles a bit, it creates such a gorgeous scent trail! My friend is even obsessed and keeps joking that he will steal this from me. Cold weather only but suitable for daytime easily. To me, it’s bang on unisex! I wear it as a man and love it

I purchased this fragrance a little while ago as I have been obsessed with marshmallow and woody scents recently so I thought why not a perfume that combines the two. Seeing as it’s super controversial I blind bought a travel size but I am going to get a full size very soon as it’s my new favourite scent. If you like woody and marshmallow that’s not overwhelming sweet you will love this

I bought the Trio Discovery Set and immediately fell in love with Milk and Milk-. They were exactly what I was hoping for: sweet, woody, and incredibly comforting. The dry downs are different on each, but both are absolutely amazing in their own way. Milk- leans more sugary sweet, while Milk feels warmer and more amber-forward. To me, they’re both completely full-bottle worthy.

This scent is currently my go to! It goes on very powdery and sweet, but as you sit in it it grows an almost natural smell y’know? Like you just smell that way. I will say to be careful cause if you douse yourself in it it will adopt a very baby powdery smell so I recommend maybe layering with a more woody or warmer scent if that’s what you’re looking for! A solid 8.5/10

It's very bold! The opening is quite synthetic to my nose, some burned plastic smell with a lot of heat that's melting your face off (personally I always find synthetic tonka bean notes challenging). Once you air it out a little it sinks into a warm, hot spicy evaporated milk with a lot of body and depth.. Longevity and projection is good - great for cold weather. 7/10.

I cannot. Stop. Smelling myself!!!! It is so cozy, milky, sweet. The scent is kind of like how I WISH imitation vanilla smelled. Nobody else can really smell it but I keep putting my wrist to my nose and getting calming, relaxing sniffs. Honestly I'm kind of glad I only have a trial size because if I had a full one I'd look like a weirdo for eternity, wrist to face.

Recently bought a bottle after testing my sample over the year. I am obsessed. It's that perfect marshmellowly milky sweetness toned down with a hint of smokiness and musk. I cannot stop smelling myself. I'm not a gourmand lover, but this is my one true love. Lovely fragrance for the fall and winter, it makes you feel cozy and warm.

Can’t wait to wear this when the weather gets cooler. I get a little cinnamony spiciness at the beginning which I personally love.(I’m guessing that’s the mahogany as I’m not too familiar with that scent.) The tonka and marshmallow wear throughout the journey of the fragrance. I find this fragrance so yummy and comforting

Milk...???.....lactonic....???.....On my skin...???.....not really...I get big tonka/musk/woodsy powdery.....But..NO PROBLEMO.....lol...... This stuff smells AMAZING..(on me). A the performance is actually VERY good !!! Got a 10ml spray...now I will get the full bottle...asap ! Curious to try the Bold version too !!

I have been wearing Milk for about a year. I will write out the notes as I experience this fragrance Top Black pepper, mint, metallic accord, toasted sesame Middle Vanilla, coconut, cinnamon, ylang ylang Base Patchouli, tonka bean, bonfire accord, mahogany, pine & fir resin Love. Signature worthy

The PERFECT balance of vanilla and wood. Smells like my favorite vanilla coffee creamer, cozy warm, great longevity. More of a fall/winter scent so I’ll try more when it gets cooler, but today it was gray and rainy and I really enjoyed the sweet but chill energy this gives. I’m definitely a fan.

Smells so good on my skin. Warm, sweet, woody and musky. Totally intoxicating. This scent note works perfectly with my body chemistry. Anything cool or citrus can smell like spit on me. Cucumber and guava smell like vomit and passion fruit smells like BO. I believe my skin to be very acidic.

This fragrance makes me feel like a SLUT!! Like anyone who smells me is going to have their clothes blown off lmao. When I'm feeling more feminine and alluring, I love to put this one on. It's so sweet and beautiful, and everytime I get a whiff of myself I feel like a beautiful princess

this scent feels incredibly comforting to me, it somehow reminds me of Angels Powder by BTSO, but without the nail polish notes. it’s very sweet, milky, musky and soft. I think I would have bought a full bottle if I hadn’t purchased Milk Orchid first

oh yea, this might be worth the 150€ plunge. It’s kinda dependent on your climate, for example in the dead of European winter, the milk accord seems even the heavier, like a freshly refrigerated cold glass of milk. 10/10 genuinely a masterpiece

This falls similar to by the fireplace, very similar realm of marshmallowy gourmand. It smells like spicy warm milk thats sweet. the musk tonka beans and mahogany gives it the warm woody body. I liked this!!

This scent feels so relaxing to me. I don't wear it out but I find it is great for night time wear. Sometimes, I spray it in my bathroom before I take a shower. I would love a body wash in this scent.

I've had a travel size of this for about a year and I always find myself craving it and then coming back to it. It's like cereal milk. It's so good. Great sweet scent for rainy days.

This is my signature fragrance now! It gets better the longer I have it. It is a gourmand but it is so balanced. This is guaranteed to get me compliments!

Smells much more woody on my skin, It does have an airy-marshmallow milk scent with it. I just wish the more gourmand profile would stick to my skin more

I find this smell performs best in the winter. It’s perfect if you’re a lover of lactonic notes, I’d compare it to a glass of cold milk to my nose.
