Rain

I’ve been obsessed with this fragrance since its first launch years ago. It is so unique, I really haven’t ever smelled anything like it. It smells like a warm spring meadow on a rainy afternoon. Green, fresh, floral, and aquatic. Definitely some green earthy notes but enough florals to lighten it up and keep it from smelling too musky. After it settles on my skin for 5-10 minutes I get sweet, dewy lotus and subtle but warm and spicy vetiver. To me its a bit on the sweet/floral side to be unisex, but the woody and vetiver notes anchor the scent and keep it from being a strictly female scent. Overall, one of my all time favorite scents. I was thrilled to get my hands on it again after the recent return of Commodity. The formula seems only to have improved, however it seems perhaps a tad less sweet than the original.

A magical, idealised summer shower in a garden in absolute full flower. I like the citrus accord in the opening, it gives the “rain” a fresh and cool aspect. The florals are lovely but at first a little too strong for my tastes. I don’t initially detect as much of the aquatic element as I’d hoped for, because for me it’s slightly overpowered by the florals. Further into the dry down the flowers start to back off and the aquatic accord has the space to come through more clearly, this is where the fragrance really shines. I love this stage, it’s quite beautiful and uplifting, this is rain made more fantasy than reality. Projection is good, longevity is moderate. My initial gripes about the opening aside, it’s a delightfully dreamy composition, one of my favourites from the line.

This is amazing! I tried it through the Archives Collection discovery set, and now I need a full bottle ASAP. It’s fresh, aquatic, aromatic, and so incredibly refreshing. I love anything with lotus and bergamot, and this hits all the right notes for me. It brings to mind that old saying: “April showers bring May flowers.” That’s exactly the vibe here. Think raindrops delicately resting on flower petals not a damp, earthy petrichor scent, but a floral aquatic one. It actually reminds me a bit of Paradise Garden by JPG, with that same breezy, serene beauty.

This was a blind buy, but it ended up being absolutely beautiful. I probably wouldn't have purchased this after an initial sniff at the store - the initial scent it slightly floral, slightly lemony. I didn't get any connection to Rain. But after an hour or two of wear the fragrance transformed into something evocative and gorgeous. Its not rain on a grass lawn - its rain over a pond, with waterlilies blooming. I've never tried a scent that lingers and develops as nicely as this one does. Highly recommend

Fresh, watery and woodsy, with vetiver undertones. Just like leaves after rain and pethrichor. You get a lemon blast the first 10 seconds, then it gets jasmine and lotus with woods and green notes. Sillage is close to the skin, but is very long lasting even after a shower. Is more of a personal fragrance rather than a crowd pleaser. Smells a liiiittle like Chancel Chance eau Fraiche, but softer.
