I met the fragrances of this House when I created a partnership through my Brazilian website of perfume reviews. And it was a real adventure unravel all of them, without having access to the official notes, even having direct contact with the owner of the company. And the result was wonderful because he loved reading my reviews and complimented me on most of them. Therefore, I will copy the translated reviews below, as they were written and published at the time. Carrying the title of "the oldest male scent still in manufacturing", this classic (I can't think of another adjective) of Brazilian perfumery exists since 1976. Created by perfumer (and owner of the company) Ricardo Penafiel, this fragrance was designed to be worn by himself and was named in honour of the song Águas de Março, recorded by Elis Regina and Tom Jobim, both friends of his parents. The scent is quite rustic and sustains its title of "gentlemen", as was done for this kind of man. It has the style of old school colognes, that start powerful, sweeping, animalic. As I have not received the list of notes, I'm betting on the perception that the fragrance gave me throughout its evolution. It opens with many flowers, I would say roses and carnations (maybe geranium) and delicious citrus notes - like bergamot - that give the touch of "summer" to the fragrance (its name means Summer Waters for Gentlemen). In its charming heart, I felt a soft cinnamon, patchouli and myrrh. At the bottom, something more powdery and earthy. I believe that the basis has vetiver, vanilla and musk. I may be wrong, but the perception on my skin was this and, for those who like to have an olfactory reference, this scent is very similar to Giorgio for Men (which many people also find similar to Gentleman, by Givenchy) with a more citrusy and refreshing touch in the output. To finish, what everyone expects: a lot of projection for about 3 hours to, then, calm down and be more "tamed". More than 10 hours of lasting. Nice work!

It's the perfect example of a "fresh out of the shower" fragrance from late 70's. But instead of being sweet aromatic and barbershop(ey), It's brighter, citrusy, spicy and earthy in a dry way. No sweetness at all. Its spicy aspect reminds me of Monsieur Musk, although Aguas de Verão isn't "talcum powdery". It's dense for nowadays standards, but can easily be used anytime. Longevity and projection are above average. Definitely recommended for those who love old school fragrances.
