I met the fragrances of this House when I created a partnership through my Brazilian website of perfume reviews. And it was a real adventure unravel all of them, without having access to the official notes, even having direct contact with the owner of the company. And the result was wonderful because he loved reading my reviews and complimented me on most of them. Known as “the flower of flowers”, ylang-ylang has several euphoric, antiseptic, sedative qualities, etc. For me, the most interesting and the one that I think fits the most in the perfumery category is the aphrodisiac. Normally, perfumes that carry this note, convey this characteristic to me. In this fragrance produced by Cia. da Terra, the result is strong and tends to be more feminine during its initial 15 minutes. During this phase I found myself thinking: “I smell like an old lady, with that extremely dated and floral style”. Right off the bat, it bothered me a lot and I can't omit it! You can't write reviews just full of praise, can you? However, over time, the fragrance calmed down a lot and proved to be creamier, more balanced and unisex, with something that reminded me of vanilla or benzoin. In this part of evolution, Ylang-Ylang proved to be an extremely balanced and rich perfume. I say this from the point of view of someone who had already felt countless fragrances and knows how a good Chêne, by Serge Lutens, behaves, for example. I found it very controversial and it is definitely not for everyone and for any moment. It will certainly be more appreciated by women. But still, it is a scent with scary projection and durability. My tip for this one is: wear it with caution!
