Aloha Tiare Eau de Parfum

I got a decant of this that doesn't indicate EDP or EDT, so I'm assuming it's this one. Sorry if that's not accurate. The opening of this is the best part. As is the case with so many white florals, there is a very strong plastic note in this that is unsettling. I think there are much better Tiare scents available.

This reminds me of Pink's lotion for hair!!

Aloha Taire - I don't like it, too cloying. Interesting scent, it smells a bit like sunscreen, or something else familiar. It's def a daytime summer scent. Not something if wear year-round. For women aged 60+. It was created in 1975 and does smell like a scent that was made before the 90s. Silage is arms length. There's a creamy tropical sunniness, yellow floral (tolerable as I don't usually like yellow florals, like ylang ylang), slight coconut, kind of medicinal. I like it a tiny bit, but it's just too much.It's just okay to me, I think this would get cloying, makes my eyes burn a bit and is nauseating after a while. Also it's not something I would wear, but fun to try something out of my comfort zone. Comptior Sud Pacificque has some goods scents, but I wouldn't buy this or keep if gifted. NOT a safe blind buy. Lasts about 6 hours.

I love the EDT version of the Aloha Tiare, but this EDP does not, in my opinion, smell ANYTHING like the EDT version. It's much more flowery with basically only frangipani coming through for me and not at all sweet, like the EDT has very obvious undertones of vanilla and coconut. I tried spraying the CSP Vanille Coco on top and that makes the scent a bit closer to the EDT, but only a bit. I was hoping to get the same scent (since, well, it does have the same name and is made by the same company), just in the more expensive, longer-lasting version. What I got was a completely different perfume that I don't much care for. Very disappointed!

I wanted to love this one because I love tiare fragrances and bought this one blindly several years back based on the tiare, tuberose, coconut, and vanilla notes. It sounded like it would be the perfect summer fragrance. Unfortunately, it smelled like an overpriced bathroom spray on my skin :( I had to return this one. I have since discovered Guerlain's Terracotta Le Perfum and it has become my favorite tiare fragrance (to me, it embodies summer). But it was limited edition and is hard to find these days, at least in the US.

This perfume made me realize that flower perfumes are big NO for me. First spray hits you with white flower. Tiare flower. If you dont know how Tiare smells, imagine smell of jasmine, lotus combined and doubled. Very strong. When it dries down it calms to flowery vanilla scent. I think this is very common for Sud pacifique perfumes. Luckily i had only tester. It evokes same feelings for me as Kenzo perfume.

Unless I got a bad sample, I was not impressed with this fragrance. For a few seconds, it was enthralling, but that quickly dissipated and I was left with a base impression of smoke that was unsettling. Not for me.

Can anyone give us a comparison of the EDP to the EDT? Thanks:)

Got a sample and wow! I hate it. The florals feel synthetic, scratchy, and sugary. The dry-down is plasticky sweet. Something feels subtly off about it. The flowers are missing their natural stems and leaves for balance and the dry-down is some sort of synthetically flavored franken-pudding

Its definitely the very best of its kind (tropical tiare/monoi) for the price ...that i know of. Its head to head with Sand & Sable (vintage only) as my top summer fragrances of all time. They are in a tie for top. Dreamy tropical air. Its a whole experience. Transporting. I bought Montale Intense Tiare last year based on reviews, which claimed IT was superior to Aloha. WRONG. Its a terrible dupe of Aloha. Extremely synthetic and cloying. Bad. I cant stand it on my skin despite several tries. Yet so many say Intense Tiare is better than Aloha, which truly bewilders me. Not even Songes is as good as Aloha (Songes smells like pencil shavings!) Although the two fragrances are EXTREMELY similar (i beg to differ from the review above mine, on this issue. Songes is a straight up dupe of Aloha. How anyone cant see (smell) this is wild to me) Anyway, I gave my bottle of Songes away years ago. A lesson for me that even if many people are saying something, it doesnt mean its true. I think the perception of this french line (comptoir sud pacifique) is thats its “old” or cheesy, or cheap, but its not true at all. Comptoir is an incredibly creative and daring french perfumery, and of great quality (well, it used to be, which is why i collect only the vintages from this line). Years ago i bought a huge bottle of Aloha, and i use it sparingly because its very strong and long lasting. No need to overspray. I cant speak to newer bottles, though. My bottle in over 10 years old.

This is going to be a bit of a shallow review since I'm not that familiar with the tiare note, but mostly what I get in the beginning is sugar powder like pixi sticks when first spayed and a powdery vanilla. Later I get a fairly sugary creamy candy like smell topped with that soapy floral frangipani scent. In my opinion, the vanilla, coconut, tuberose, ylang ylang, are too well blended to pick out individually in this phase, and are instead represented by an ambiguous creamy accord. It could just be my skin, but I don't agree with coconut being the 2nd most dominant note. Believe it or not, I can actually pick out the benzoin, and am leaning towards the possibility that it is slightly more present than the coconut. Later in the dry down, the scent pulls out of candy sweetness, and instead takes on vague nuances of sunscreen (tiare?). Again I'm not familiar with tiare, but I am with all the other notes, and the only one that jumps right out is frangipani, and you definitely could've fooled me that this has any patchouli in it at all.

I’ve had this in my collection for years and I buy big bottles. It’s a staple. I loved it from the first sniff. Over the course of the years I’ve tried plenty of high end coconut summery fragrances but nothing beats this one. I can’t seem to find anything better than this. It’s simply divine. On me, this is also incredibly long lasting. Songes smells almost identical to this (95%) but with added pencil shavings (completely absent from CSP Aloha Tiare) dirty jasmine, and it’s weaker with less longevity and silage by far. So yeah. I guess I can’t beat this and I should just face that and enjoy the astonishing beauty that I already have. It’s a heady, swooning, pink cloud, coconut tiare. Just flat out gorgeous. I am done looking for something better for summer. (I only wear it in summer, but it can be worn year round, no problem. It’s almost a gourmand, because it’s quite rich and decadent)

I really like this! The notes are so well blended that I can’t even describe what I am wearing. It’s very sweet but not cloying or cavity inducing sweet. I can’t pick out the coconut. I don’t find this similar to Yves Rocher Monoi - CSP is sweeter (Monoi is more floral to me). One reviewer said this one smells like baby aspirin and I can’t help but smell that now! It’s oddly nice. I like sweet powdery smells and maybe this is why I like the association to the baby aspirin - smells like what you would smell if you crushed up those little pink tablets! I hope that description doesn’t put anyone off because this is actually a positive review and I am really enjoying this scent!

I just really need to express how overjoyed i am to have found the first formulation of TIARE (1975) by CSP before it was reformulated and renamed to Aloha Tiare. Ive wanted this formula for SO LONG. Its being shipped to me now. My bottle looks to be from the 1990s. Tiare has been described as a darker, deeper, more lush scent than Aloha Tiare. Described as monoi drowned in rich coconut oil, with a more sophisticated vanilla base. Update: Got my bottle! Wow! Its almost an entirely different scent than Aloha. Same genre... monoi beachy, but Tiare is indeed deeper, like a lower octave, if you will. Very beautiful ... less “neon” and more grounded. More soulful. LOVE IT!

I did a blind buy on this one and wish I hadn't. I thought I would pick up on the Tiare, or rather, I was hoping I would...but it appears to be drowned out by the other competing flowers. I'm not sure what my nose is objecting to exactly, but it's an unpleasant, cacophonous mess on my skin. I waited for the dry down and it never really came. I could see how others would love it...but for some reason it just smells like I fell into the Luau punch - and not in a good way! I will say that I generally love this house. I've had such good luck with them until now.

I have a 10 year old bottle and I am loving this in high heat . If the people that made Madonna's Truth or Dare got a bit more serious - removed the "bubble gum" note ; ran out and picked the FRESHEST TIARE flowers off of an island and infused them : That would be THIS. It's THICK and HEADY , so beware. If you like strong scents / white floral / tropical narcotics ; give this a try.

Not sure about the bed reviews below me ... this is a very straight forward freshly-picked natural Tiare - thick - heady - lush. My bottle is old and has been sitting for a few years. So it IS true: some perfumes will age "like a fine wine" ! This is lovely !! If you buy this : PLEASE use it for a week or 2, then stow it away for a while . YUM ~!

I am surprised by the other reviews... Maybe it has to do with the temperature? The weather is cold but I am wearing this one to cheer me up, got lots of compliments so far. This is a blind buy I do not regret because it was exactly what I was looking for. Smells like exotic white flowers= tiaré. Island girl.

this smells awful. i was hoping for a nice creamy tiare with coonut, but to me it doesnt smell like tiare nor coconut. it smells very "old lady" and out of fashion kind of. in the end it made me feel physically sick, made me naucious. så i had to skrub it off.

I can't tell any difference from Yver Rocher's Monoi eau des Vahines. I mean I love it ! a lot but it's just a lot more money for the same thing. I would rather have Comptoir Sud Pacifique Vanille Tiare ! Unfortunately it has been discontinued.
