Coeur d'Ylang

A pure summery floral goodness. The blend of ylang and frangipani is really nice in this one. I'm not sure what the bergamot is here for neither, but don't expect to smell it even for a few seconds after spraying it. The vanilla is also very subtle. I smelled Peru balsam only once in my life for a few seconds and unfortunately it was of poor quality, but I think these two ingredients are what accentuate Coeur d'Ylang's round, sweet and comforting scent. The longevity is really good, more than 10 hours on me. The fragrance becomes a skin scent after 5-6 hours. I find that the more I wear this, the more I'm addicted to this scent. Although very rich and heavy, it smells very summery thanks to its floral duo. A very sensual summery fragrance. Edit 03/18/23: I have 40-45ml left out of my 100ml bottle, up for sell or swap. I still think it's a fantastic scent but I now crave different perfumes for the spring / summer. Message me if you're interested :)

Such a dreamy fragrance. Like gathering around a breakfast table in the summer. Starts off fresh and elegant but settles to a more creamy vanilla sunscreen, soft serve ice cream, heat coming off the pavement kind of vibe. The bergamot is subtle and short lived. But it helps take the edge of the heady sweet vanilla. Beautiful ylang. Would be great to layer with ylang ylang by molton brown either lotion or edt if you want more of a ylang hit. Since this settles into a warm creamy sophisticated vanilla on the skin.

Ok so I tested this in a store and fell in love, bought it, got home and my bottle was sooo unbalanced I almost sold it. I’m so glad I didn’t though because when I tried it again after a month it had changed completely. Apparently this one needs to sit for a bit. It’s now a delicious, luxurious, rich floral. Has a slight suntan lotion vibe which I adore. It’s amazing and sophisticated. Super underrated!

Creamy balsamy vanilla. This is a heavy perfume but instantly likeable. Amazing quality perfume. This fragrance is creamy sweet not sugary sweet. The vanilla and frangipani are very detectable but I can't really smell the bergamot at all. It's buried right from the beginning under all the other strong notes.

This is very similar to Mancera's Holidays without the marine note. It's holidays but much better. Excellent staying power too for a CSP. Love this and will always repurchase. A summer staple!

Oh, my god, this is so good. Sweet and saturated. I'm not usually a fan of bergamot but it's so well-blended it only adds dimension.

I love this! I have tried some of the others from Comptoir Sud Pacifique (Vanille Coco and Vanille Extreme) and they smell a lot like Cocoa Puffs and are too sweet for me. So when I blind bought this, I knew I was taking a chance. But I love ylang, frangipani and vanilla, so I thought it was worth taking the chance. But this one is just right! It has the sweet vanilla, but it is tempered with the flowers and the balsam, as well as a bit of bergamot. Pairing the sweet vanilla and balsam is the same idea as the sweet vanilla balsam pairing in the EDP version of Poison Girl. But yet the finished fragrance of Coeur D’Ylang is so very different from Poison Girl and still beautiful all on its own. It’s too different from Poison Girl to say that it reminds me of it. The ylang and frangipani does make it into a spring and summer scent and I can’t wait to wear it at that time of year! Wearing at this time of year, in February, is also very nice because I am tired of winter and I am looking for something to wear that makes me dream of spring and summer - and this is perfect!

I crave the perfect Ylang fragrance, but the search continues. This is lovely, but too sweet and cloying for me. Buttery vanilla dominates on my skin - it’s not what I am looking for in a scent. I would recommend this for someone looking for a sweet rounded fragrance that is a bit different and not just for young girls.

Pure ylang, oily, creamy and pure. To indulge and bathe in it. Not pretentious, just pure ylang sunny joy. Works great in winter actually and to mix with whatever your soul likes along with ylang.

I really enjoyed this, will try a sample for the summer tho. It does smell like very fresh ylang-ylang tea. No comments on sillage or projection just yet, but it is lovely.

225 It’s a weak mild ylang with a hint of watery/ aquatic note(bergamot?), slightly sweet from vanilla, and a vague sunscreen dry down. I like the ylang hit at opening but then it fades fast. Disappointed, as it’s not creamy or fruity enough for me. It’s more on the ocean breeze fresh end. Lasted 1 hour on fabric with liberal sprays. There is also a CSP vibe, like in their other scents. 7/10-it’s ok-not the intense creamy fruity ylang that I was seeking! Don’t care for aquatic notes, though this is on the mild end of it. I’ll finish travel bottle. Would not repurchase.

This isn't overly sweet like so many from this brand, but it does have that burnt sugar note that I just can't stand and which is in too many of their fragrances. What is that anyway? There is nothing like that listed in the notes unless it is the balsam and vanilla creating that accord. Whatever it is, it makes this a pretty heavy wear that I think would become cloying in the heat. That's disappointing, because with that note profile, I expected this to be a nice summer fragrance.

This is a sweet fragrance done absolutely right! Would have never imagined in 2016 one can get a sweet little one like this done so nicely and so refined. Based on the EDP I tested, the bergamote inn there is almost undetectable but it keeps it so wonderfully balanced and stops it from being too much sweet. It definitely is a mature fragrance and going to be mine, ASAP. :-)
