Éclats d’Amandes

It's a very nice scent. I've not smelt a woody/almond scent like this before. Cedar is the first note to detect followed by the sandalwood, Tonka then almond and a little cinnamon. There is sweetness from the Tonka and a little creaminess from the musk. It has almost an autumnal feel. The smell of seasoned wood by the fire and French almond sweets. The overall effect is of a warm, woody scent with a little sweet almond. It's almost gourmand. I'd say unisex. I get moderate longevity and sillage in this warm room.

My first edp from CSP, and I do enjoy it quite a lot. The first time I sprayed this I smelled marzipan with a capital M, but other times I get the most delicious cinnamon tonka bean. Ohhh, so good. Sweet but not as sweet as other scents from the brand. It might not be complex, but it hits the mark and is exactly as described. The lasting power is good. I can't wait to wear this next fall.

I definitely need to play with and sample this scent more. Off the bat I get almond and cinnamon. The tonka is dreamy in the background. I find this reminiscent of a fancy boutique or giftshop soap - it’s almondy, Spicey but clean.

Amazing Marzipan and almond liqueur. An even better version of ADP Mandorlo Di Scilla - or simply what it would be as an EDP. Drool worthy - erring on Femine but I’d wear it. Destined to be a classic in the gourmand category .

Lovely spicy almond fragrance, lasts quite a bit longer than the other CSP perfumes I have. If you enjoy Café Cabanel, I would definitely recommend layering Eclats d'amandes with Vanille Café, also by CSP.

To me this is all about tonka. Spicy woody musky tonka. Lasts for weeks on fabric. The opening is a delightful spiced almond gourmand scent, somewhere between a bear claw* and a cinnamon roll. But this fragrance’s drydown... I sprayed some around 6am and now at 8pm what’s left is a remarkably present tonka and naturalistic sandalwood. *Do you have bear claws? It’s a sweet pastry you find at the donut shop with an almond crumb filling shaped to look like the paw of a bear.

Whoa Angel is that you? The initial blast of this was Thierry Mugler Angel for me, which I have mixed feelings about, but it was weird. Then it mellowed into a pure almond scent, really yummy and pretty but I would layer it with something more sugary like Vanille Coco or Pink Sugar. I've read reviews that it gets a lot of compliments so I'll have to update when I've worn it out a bit. 4 out of 5 for me.

ALMONDS! EXCLAMATION POINT! SO gourmand I’m scared someone will take a bite out of me! 😳

Felt like being DROWNED in one of those flavoured syrups that should make your coffee amazing, but instead convert it to a cloying, hyper-sugared nectar which overloads your taste buds. This does the same to my nose, which is a real shame as I was sooooo very more-than-ready for something full of almond and cinnamon and sandalwood... all favourite notes... but on my skin this gelled into a huge block of thudding, heavy, sticky marzipan, instead of a gently-caramelised natural woody treat. A gourmand excursion which didn't turn out too well for me, then, but if you are generally an almond/tonka fan and want something unapologetically sweet and big, it will definitely sate that hunger. Huge projection and frankly exhausting longevity so I can't fault it for technical heft, either.

It does not smell like almond at all on my skin, really smells like cough syrup. I love tonka on Killian Rolling in love but not in this :(.

Synthetic almond overload. And way too sweet, like saccharine. Hard pass.

If you like an olfactory adventure, this one’s for you! In the opening, I get cinnamon (very peppery and dry), sweet liqueur, a touch of doughy-ness, and soft woods. The short-lived midphase is my favorite ... almond extract and a more delicious “baking” cinnamon. The drydown loses me, though .. it’s the same almond-cinnamon but with A LOT of very vintage, Avon-esque powder. It’s not pretty or delicious anymore. The powder is especially apparent the closer you sniff to the site of application. (And on the skin, there’s a bit of plum? Or jam notes?) If you smell 2-3 ft away from application, the powder fades a little. After 5-6 hours, it’s surprisingly masculine! My husband smelled it after ~11 hours, and he smelled vomit. (Unfortunately, he wasn’t wrong.) I do so wish it had remained linear after the midphase. It could’ve been a contender, but, as is, it’s a solid dislike.

Oh my, I do like this one quite a lot. I almost didn't buy it because I already own Vanille Amande, and I had a previous disappointing experience with trying to replace the discontinued O Pomelo with Pomelo Fizz, but Vanille Amande starts out with potent almond that turns to vanilla with just that hint of almond, and is gourmand sweet all the way through, which is typical for the Vanille scents from CSP. Eclats d'Amande is delightful almond, cinnamon and sandalwood in balanced proportions, with a lighter sweetness and not too heavy on the wood notes. Okay, I don't just like it, I love it. I'm a fan of most almond-based scents, but this one hits just right for me, and is close enough to the skin that I could wear it to sleep.

Gorgeous. This is the only one I have tried from Comptoir and, yes, Plenty of almond, a good sprinkling of cinnamon, I can't detect any sandalwood, but for some reason (probably the tonka), get a hefty back draught of gentle, understated sweetness, like vanilla but without the cloying one would expect for a full on gourmand. I have also found that this is a proper little fragrant chameleon which loves being layered with fragrances you would never ordinarily layer, let alone with something full of almonds. I am very impressed, and this has pride of place on the perfume shelf, and a bedside decant for when I'm feeling the need for a little walk-through after my bath. Very pleasing.

ALMONDS!!! An absolute fuck ton of almonds!!!! Like being slapped in the face by a giant marzipan hand. WALLOP. If you like almonds you will undoubtedly love this. It is almond with nobs on. Almondy almonds in an almond soup, with almond milk, sprinkled with almonds, with a tiny bit of cinnamon. Did I mention the ALMONDS? Yes you can have too much of a good thing & here it is.

Almonds can easily make me feel melancholy. In this perfume they are quite cheerful and lively, not as powdery as usually. There is nice cinnamon spice and some woodiness. Somewhat leaning gourmand.
