Fleurs des Caraibes

I am forever searching for a big Ylang Ylang frag and bought this blind because of the notes and high votes for that fave flower of mine. It did not disappoint! I'm really enjoying this and hope it will wear well throughout the year even. Ylang is big and sparkling, the overall vibe is sweet but a flower and vanilla sweet, not sugar. It is tropical but not suntan lotion with the absence of coconut in this composition. I love coconut in general but without it here, I feel it is more suitable for more occasions. To conclude, I love it. I will happily wear it and am ever grateful for a heady, warm and sweet floral juice with the Ylang leading the way!

I can't begin to describe the perfection of this scent. Yes, it smells exactly like a Carribian night in full bloom, exotic, tropical fruits, all of them in a big bowl, melons of all kinds, passionfruit, starfruit. Total perfection. Perfect in the way like a perfume made by a highend nichehouse with a real high budject in quality. I get mostly hibiscus in full tropical bloom blended perfectly with real vanillapods (like the vanilla Guerlain uses in their most expensive exclusive line of perfumes, such as SD Vanille, among others). Blended into a musky exotic beauty. My absolute favorite scent for tropical hot days and nights. <3 Aloha!!! <3

Intoxicating but never too strong. It smells like an island bouquet. Deep, rich, and sultry. It's also delicious with the fruits. It is an odd mix, but it works.

This is so far one of the most promising Comptoir de Sud fragrances as the others often fell into the box of too sweet or too edible. So far Fleurs de Caraibes has successfully delivered what other tropical fragrances failed so far, i.e. smelling tropical without being cloying or overwhelming or falling into the trap of synthetic coconut notes. Do not get me wrong, this is still very sweet. A while ago I was very much split between two tropical flower fragrances, one of the Manoumalia by Le Nez and the other was Montale's Intense Tiare. I tested them paralelly, tested wearing only one and the other on the following day but I failed to be able to vote for either over the other and once the testing period was over (my samples ran out). I have ended up saturated by both and not bought any bottles concluding that tropical flowers - or rather the way they are interpreted in perfumery - are not for me. Now I received a sample of Fleurs de Caraibes and I tend to think, this one I like more than the other two above. Now I must add that I can only build on my memories and can only hope that this preference is not due any other psychological factors such as changes in my taste or emotional attitude. P.S. Longevity is about 2-3 hours on me, which drops the price/value ratio.

This would be a tame offering from Comptoir sud Pacifique that I've tried after Vanille extreme and several other vanillas from the line. The vanilla is subdued in this and allows the mixed flowers to shine as well. I can't quite discern one floral note from another in this scent, they are well blended together. I do get the melon note and it smells like a melon that lingers between just ripe and over-ripe, with a hint of booziness but the melon plays a small role in this. There is a slight tropical vibe to this scent especially after one knows the name, but if it were a blind test, I would have just gone for flora/fruity vanilla. Sillage for me remains close to the skin and like previous reviewers have said, this one has seriously poor longevity, I could smell it for maybe 2 hours tops.

Au début je sens les notes de fleurs blanches puis exotiques, ensuite je ne sens plus que le santal comme dans Samsara. C'est un parfum résolument oriental et exotique, je l'aurais préfére plus fleuri

Smells like a more floral and tropical take on L’eau d’Issey by Issey Miyake to me— must mainly come from the melon. Pretty and refreshing but not entirely my cup of tea. The floral facets in this one give it a slight cleaning product vibe that I can't get out of my head.

Tropical florals go down a treat during Summer, but more often than not, good ones are hard to find. Comptoir Sud Pacifique's Fleurs des Caraibes is on the verge of perfection. I am really treasuring my decant. It opens with sugary and exotic florals like hibiscus, ylang ylang and jasmine. This initial blast is quite pretty and fresh, almost like a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day. I really love the way it sits on my skin, sending luscious wafts up to my nose everytime I move. Fleurs des Caraibes is on the sweet side of things. The vanilla features in this composition quite a bit, making every other ingredient quite sugary, and in some ways, fluffy. The sillage is quite bold and strong, perhaps a little too overwhelming on really hot days, but pleasant enough for mild, sunny weather. The heart transforms into a powdery blend of vanilla, heliotrope, melon and exotic florals. It's like a cross between the scent of baby wipes and a desert beach. Not the most beautiful description I know, but it sums up how Fleurs des Caraibes smells to my nose, and trust me, I love this fragrance more and more every day. Melon is a note that is often difficult to love in perfume. There's been many a time when I have disliked a fragrance simply because melon has ruined it for me. In the case of Fleurs des Caraibes, the melon accord works. It actually adds definition and a touch of sweet fruitiness, which I find compliments the composition nicely. It smells like something I could imagine Lolita Lempicka putting a name to, and in some instances, it has its similarities to Coral Flower. All in all, Fleurs des Caraibes is impressively unique, feminine and lush. However, it is a pity that the scent doesn't last all that long, which is in my opinion, this fragrance's only let-down.

While I am not a fan of the CSP line due to the overabundance of vanilla and overly sugared sweetness, this is a refreshing change of pace. This is actually a very nice floral that is not very sweet at all. It is a complex floral with a number of flowers included but you get that tropical flower scent (real flowers) and there is a touch of musk in there that gives it that little something that I like. If I wore more mixed florals I would probably choose this one fairly often. If you like tropical florals that are pretty straight forward florals without a lot of distraction from other standard notes they throw in there to make it "tropical" (like coconut and pineapple) I think you would really like this. It is in my Ebay box but I am thinking about taking it back out after I sniffed it again. It is really nice.

Very intoxicating indeed! I fell in love with this fragrance. Definitely for warmer weather. I agree it is more of a floriental! The jasmine & ylang ylang are predominant. The vanilla subtle yet definitely there. Love.

A milky , flowery goodness. Reminded me a lot of Diesel Feminine ++, but better, without any harshness, just a coconut breeze from the ocean...

where can i find this label??? im so curious about it, i like very much the names, they promise yummy fragances.

Amazingly wonderful smelling; hard to explain.....more of a floriental
