Disclaimer: Dairy is my favorite food group. I love all things milky, creamy, and buttery. Dairy fat tastes like heaven and heavy cream is my ambrosia. So this is the scent of a morning hug. It is beautiful. I can understand the many reviews of dislike, because I imagine most people have no desire to smell like a glass of milk. But I do! Actually, this is too sweet to be a glass of cold milk, but it does contain notes that milk takes when heated. I love the smell of milk and cream and find this perfume to be so comforting. I bought the large bottle for a reasonable price and am happy I did. I have worn this alone and have barely scratched the surface of playing with layering. I can tell you right now, this is a scent I will not go without. Would it be my signature scent that I wear daily? No, but I didn’t buy it to be my signature. I bought this scent to provide comfort and warmth, and that is exactly what it provides. It is an obvious creamy, lactonic scent sweetened like condensed milk. I do pick up facets of buttery vanilla, but it is in a rounded sweetness rather than an actual detectable vanilla note. There is a tiny slight hint of the milkiest sandalwood in the dry down, but really sandalwood is barely perceptible. I have a feeling this would be wonderful layered lightly with a sandalwood to bump up its milkiness. I find the performance (longevity and sillage) to be moderate, which I find as a good thing. The last thing I want is a condensed milk scent the blasts the entire room. If this were stronger it would be more than cloying, it would be choking and quite off putting. This performs exactly how I want a milk scent to be. It gently wraps around you with the softest morning hug that provides both comfort and reassurance. I can hear my grandma saying in my ear, “Now you know grandma loves you. You’re my beautiful blonde baby.” Milk reminds me of childhood, which then reminds me of my grandma who provided safety from the outside world. I miss my grandma and I love this fragrance. Also, I do not get burnt popcorn (thankfully), but I know how creamy scents can go there. I get a lot of popcorn from the coconut scent from Sol de Janeiro (the turquoise one). I can relate to “bottom of the cereal bowl”, but that is also a scent that provides comfort to me. Next, I would LOVE to try a fragrance inspired by the scent of a cold glass of milk. That is an equally lovely, but different from hot milk. A barista once told me it’s the opposite, but I swear milk heated to almost boiling has a much sweeter smell and taste. I love it. So if anyone know of a cold glass of milk scent, please let me know. Also this reminds me of Ave Luxe’s Milk perfume, which is another beautiful rendition of sweetened heated milk.

Can I just write a quick love letter to a fragrance? I have been looking for something that smells like genuine sweet vanilla and condensed milk. Which sounds like a simple enough request..I assure you, it is not. So many perfumes claim these notes and it is nothing but straight up bs and disappointment. But not this one, this is the real deal. She is a warm hug. She is pure, simple comfort. This is the scent of my grandmother's kitchen in the morning when she would warm up the cream for her tea. No florals at all..the only wood (supposedly) is sandalwood, but if it is really there it is buried under a warm bowl of sweetened condensed milk with vanilla bean caviar swirled into it. I have tried them all, phlur, philosophy, snif, etcetera...all of them fell flat. Then she entered the room... Matin Calin from Comptoir sud pacifique✨️✨️ She is a goddess of a perfume. She is love and happiness wrapped in sanctuary 💗 I can't stop smelling my wrist, nor do I have the will to do so. Every scent has its unicorn 🦄 the perfect embodiment of the description, hyper realistic and expertly blended. This is the perfect example of what a cream scent should smell like. No bs, no paid ads filled with lies..just honest and straightforward.

It's the exact scent of warm condensed milk with a dash of sugar steaming on the stove, served with butter cookies and a beloved grandma cluck-clucking over you. The ultimate comfort scent, Matin Calin's intense sweetened milk feel is pure joy: warm jammies, a mug of hot milk and big dollop of love, all in one bottle. Now this I think is the perfect description for me! I'm holiday as I write this and it's been a long and slightly tough day with a less comfortable ending. But as I spray this I do remember my nanna, and it does make me feel loved and warm. I walked a fair way back to the shop for this as I just couldn't forget it. It felt so comforting and reminded me of some of the best memories. Yes, it's sweet, don't get me wrong, to me it is sweetened hot milk or condensed milk warmed. Perhaps the longevity isn't all day but on a bad day it's just what you need, pretentiousness never comforted anyone.

I absolutely hated this at first, my initial impression was sour milk, salt, and hot morning breath. Tried this scent again three months later, fell in love, and now it's one of my favorites to wear at bedtime or just around the house. It smells exactly like a glass of warm milk mixed with caramelized sugar or maybe lightly salted buttery toffee. I agree with a previous review that there's a vague eggy/savory note that mixes so well with the creamy sweet lactonic dessert notes.

To me Matin Calin smells like sugared milk and a light realistic vanilla with some vitamins sprinkled in it.I love sweet and creamy scents when they do not smell artificial or chemical,this is very natural.i love the smell but i hate the staying power.my skin drinks this up in a few minutes.(sigh*)i would give this scent an 8 and the staying power a 2. p.s.I must admit i prefer Demeter condensed milk and it is cheaper.
