Musc & Roses

This is not a film noir lit-cigarette rose like Malle's "Portrait of a lady", it is not soaked with wine and dipped in chocolate like Tom Ford's "Cafe Rose", it is not powdered with vintage makeup and berries like Malle's "Lipstick rose", and it is certainly not paired with a Chanel handbag in a flamboyant, soapy fashion like "Chloe". I think the simplicity of this one really stole my heart. After the drydown, this is a velvety, sweet, pure rose musk with a hint of champagne. Definitely reminiscent of something I've purchased from LUSH before (Not Rose Jam), and I'm happy to have found a rose scent that focuses SOLELY on the bloom, not the green of the stem. Short-lived, but romantic and nose-catching while it sticks around. Don't overlook!

This is a simple but intruiging rose scent. I got this as a small sample and I'm interested in getting the travel spray, it reminds me a little of Shania by Stetson, but not as country maybe lol, I don't know but I like it. A weak 4 out of 5 for me.

I got a free dabber sample of this. Musky rose with green apple. This reminds me a bit of Narciso Rodriguez’s perfumes, Musc Noir Rose For Her, in particular (though, I haven’t smelled that in a LONG time, so take that with a grain of salt). Kind of basic and simple, in my opinion. Pleasant, but not unique.

I blind bought this for no reason other than I already have most of all the CSP gourmands and wanted to try something different. I was really worried this was going to be either too sweet or too floral, it's neither. It's a very delicate, subtly sweet, fresh, musky, transparent rose perfume. It smells like fresh air and bruised roses after a nice rainshower. Or your skin straight out of the shower, going out for the evening. It strikes the perfect balance to me between sweet/powder/floral/musk, as I personally don't think I wear florals well, especially big, blousy roses, despite how much I love them in real life. The rose starts kicking in a little later on, "greenish", fresh, thorny, natural. I honestly don't like heavy, Grande Dame type rose perfumes as they annoy the absolute life out of me...you know the ones that you smell on old wealthy ladies who laugh about their five banker husbands, have a poof poof dog that's their surrogate child, and their red Chanel lipstick just pisses you off for no reason? If you're looking for a showy operatic type scent, you're not going to find that here. If you, like me, enjoy something reminiscent of summer breezes, blue skies, and sunshine, I think you should be happy. I didn't think I needed that kind of perfume in my life, but I did, and I am happy I have it now.
