Princesse Muscat

Princess Muscat was once named Coeuer de Raisen. I have loved this fragrance for many, many years. It does have a raisen/grape note. Wine can be interpreted as well. It is a slighty sweet, fruity fragrance, but not in the tradition of Juicy Couture and the many fragrances that are like it.

It reminds me a Black XS by Pacco Rabbane, but Princess is more interesting. Firstly it smells a berry chewing gum, and some time later it resembles the light table wine with floral and musk notes. My friends and colleagues like this scent and say its an unusual one. Perfect for summer, but suitable for other seasons. I wear it everywhere. It is close to be the sign scent. Nice perfume, but too little grapes ((((

Woah, this is so sour! Maybe the age of the bottle my sample came from also plays a role here, I'm not sure. All I know is that I find it overly sour in the first moments. Cranberry is the biggest note here. There's a lot of rose, too, and a wine-like grape note. I can also sense a warm spiciness, like the nutmeg note muscat wines supposedly have. This has a clear red fruity tone, but it's by no means as sweet as raspberries or strawberries. The grapefruit adds even more tartness. In the drydown the scent turns softer and cleaner, kind of shampoo-like, which I find much more pleasant than the sour spiced berries in the opening. To my nose this is somewhat similar to Escada Ibiza Hippie, they have a lot in common: Cranberry, musk, sandalwood, general fruity floral freshness, a hint of nutmeg. Ibiza Hippie works much better for me though, it comes across as more balanced. I have to give credit that Princesse Muscat is not as simple and overly sweet as some others from this house, it's original in that regard. And it's fitting for the wine-themed name. But I also have to admit that I'm just not a big fan of this scent and expected more from it.

I must confess that I was expecting more from "Princesse Muskat". It's a nice fruity floral fragrance, but I'm still looking for a perfume focused on a delicious grape note. "Princesse Muskat" starts pretty heavy on the fruity side of the moon. I can't detect any fruit alone, but I feel some raspberries and cranberries in the air. These notes are followed by a strong scent of rose that lingers for a while. The rest of the development is mainly based on musk and something that reminds me of wine.

This is horrid... straight up celery! No development...nothing but sour potent celery.
