Souffle des Indes

Wow, this is so beautiful. One of my favourite CSP perfumes, hands down! The orange citruses and kumquat blend is so bright and zesty and I was so surprised that I got the almost creamy vanilla from the start. It's not the sugary sweet, almost carton-like vanilla that CSP is adamant to put in their Vanille ... EDT series, this one is something else. It's really delectable. I don't know how to do this perfume justice but it feels like a rich and spicy vanillic wind or shuffle. The overall perfume both feels dense and airy, spicy and fresh. It doesn't give an obvious dessert-y vibe but I can see how some are reminded of a dessert. Imo this is perfectly unisex and I even think this slightly leans masculine. It's beautiful either way. Again, cardamom is the perfect spicy addition in this blend. I need to compare Souffle des Indes with Guerlain Shalimar Philtre de Parfum and Samsara EDP because I thought they were slight similarities in the way vanilla was behaving in these two Guerlain perfumes, when first smelling them on paper. Hopefully will report on that :)

This smells like a beautifully spiced creamy dessert with candied orange peel. The sweetness is light and airy. It never feels thick, heavy or syrupy. I see it compared to Mandorlo di Sicilia above. I don't really think they smell alike, but they are similar types of fragrances. Both are dessert-y gourmand fragrances that are fresh and light, easy to wear in warmer weather when other gourmands often become suffocating. I find it similar to Burberry Brit or YSL Cinema with the spice note and a bit more citrus. I find it has very good longevity, I catch whiffs of it on me for an entire day when I wear it. The sillage is close to the body for much of that time. I think this is quite a versatile fragrance. I have worn it in both cold and warm weather and it easily suits both. It has that delicious creamy spiced character that would make this a great evening fragrance for someone who likes something a little subtle. While that subtlety makes it a wonderful daytime fragrance.

I can't believe how much I love this. I'm not typically into the heavy, spicy scents for myself at all, but I LOVE this and keep getting asked (all around the world!) what it is that I have on and where it can be bought. :-) I usually get headaches from warm, oriental spicy perfumes (amber, musk, etc.) and this one just keeps me coming back for another whiff. I don't find it masculine at all, so it's interesting that it's a unisex scent, but of course everyone's body chemistry is different and thus alters the fragrances, so maybe it would smell good on the right guy. ?? In any case, I'm really taken by the gorgeous mix of scents.

WOW! I'm hooked - not my usual fare though. Bought a small travel bottle as the notes sounded unusual and exotic. Didn't let me down. Delicious subtle Lemon Meringue and vanilla topped with somewhat sweet not over the top spices. Citrus fades after a few hours leaving a sweet spicy vanilla. For once creative marketing gives what it says. It suggests to me Indian cooking spices sprinkled on a vanillic dessert. There is more here than cardamon. Not heavy on silage but a decent longevity. Male or female. I find I often spray a bit in winter evenings to treat myself.

I’m generally neutral about this fragrance. It is a little too soft to wow me but there is surely nothing objectionable here. If the notes sound good to you then try it. I agree with those who say it’s somewhat desserty but not at all strong or heavy

Very nice! I like this one .. Spices and floral with a touch of creamy sweetness. Every note knows its role, so nothing is overpowering. Even the “sweeter” notes (spices, creamy vanilla) are dry and not syrupy/saccharine. Drydown is vanilla sugar with a touch of spice. Reminds me of the citrus-cream vibe of Tocca Colette .. minus Colette’s heavier floral/powder notes and plus a good dose of spice. Pretty good projection and longevity, especially for CSP. EDIT/UPDATE: Wearing again today, and I cannot get past this vomit-like smell, similar to the one in Eclats d’Amandes. Tossing this sample and removing from my wishlist.

This is my second or third try with a scent that is heavy on spices, especially cardamom. I have to face the fact that I simply don't like that. Also, as the description says, it's an unisex scent. I usually have problems with that and wouldn't like this again for either men or women.

Wow! Simply gorgeous! Rarely do I purchase a fragrance that makes me swoon at the first introduction, but this one surely did. Warmth, spice, delicately sweet yet clean. This would be lovely on any gender. Souffle des Indes is truly an exceptional fragrance!

To me this smells like a warmly spiced pineapple. It’s fun, but it’s a little... too fun for me? It think I’d get a bottle if it were a little more subtle or somehow more sophisticated to my nose. Just my take on it.
