Vanille Café

Wow! Wow! Wow! I love!!! This scent is so yummy!! There is def a cafe vibe to it, as it smells warm, sweet like burnt sugar and like a biscuit. I think it might be the almond that makes is smell like a biscuit. A beautiful cedar woody note that isn't too dry (some wood notes make my throat dry or are just too strong). I can totally picture being in a cutesy local cafe with wooden walls and a fireplace. This scent would be better for the colder months. A really cozy nighttime scent, it could be worn during the day as long as you didn't spray too much. It's a unisex scent leaning a tiny more more masculine due to the wood note. The sweet biscuit smell fades a bit after the dry down. The silage is arms length/close to skin. The vanilla Comptoir uses always reminds me of Jingle G xmas perfume by Gwen Stefani. The coffee note isn't like YSL Black Opium, it's more like smell fresh brewed coffee. It lasted longer than I expected, I could smell it on my wrist about 10 hours later. This company usually makes nice nature inspired smelling perfume, so far I find that they lean a bit more on the sweet side than the fresh/bright side, but I've only tried 3 other perfumes for this company so far...more to come!

I love Vanille Cafe! No, it's not the most highfalutin, avante-garde wunderkind of the coffee scents, but dammit, it's a super fun, sugary caffeinated ride that I'm fully enjoying! I hear many people complain about some of the Comptoir Sud Pacifique's scents having an artificiality about them, which I understand, BUT, I still think their scents are really well done, FUN (which is sorely needed these days), super crowd pleasing, and the price points are unbeatable in this day and age. That said, I genuinely enjoy this one and was excited to learn it was created by Vanina Muracciole -- she's created so many I love, it's no wonder this enchanted me so. Vanille Cafe is for coffee lovers who like their milk and sugar with a splash of coffee. And this, like so many others in my collection, layers exquisitely with KYSE's Delizia di Marshmallow! I layered these two yesterday and my partner asked if I was making hot chocolate ;-) I said "No -- it's me you're smelling!" He replied: "That doesn't smell too bad!" Coming from him? That was actually a huge compliment! 😂😂

When I first received this fragrance, it made me so furious because it was so delicious but literally poofed into oblivion before I could even get the cap back on. No longevity. The worst longevity of any fragrance I've ever owned. So I did the thing, I put it up and had zero expectations for it. I went on a declutter tangent and sprayed it one last time before listing it or giving it away, and she bloomed. She blossomed. She is now what I wanted Intense Cafe to be, and she lasts. I never really thought of applying the "let it sit" rule to anything other than ME scents, but, it fixed this one as well. So glad I didn't get rid of it, it's now one of my favorites and great for layering when you want to amplify or add a coffee note. Sweet, yummy vanilla frapp with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles. Then, of course the hints of cedar and musk keep it grounded. I feel like it's still light enough that it can be worn year-round, it's sweet but not sickly so. Coffee note stays with you for the life of the application.

I used to wear Comptoire Sud Pacifique Vanille Coco many years ago. I have been trying to find a new summer fragrance, so I decided to order from them. I ordered a full bottle of the Vanille Coco, but they also have two "sample" sets with most of their fragrances included in one or the other. Vanille Cafe was one of the samples, and I just fell in love. In the sample, I couldn't really detect the coffee, but in the large bottle (I went back online and bought a large bottle) you can really smell the coffee when you first spray it. I don't like most "coffee" scents, but this is perfect. I smell the vanilla, the coffee, and the cedar right away, and as it dries down, I smell the vanilla, cedar and the musk. I love this fragrance. It is warm, and cozy, and on me it smells almost like kindling that has been sprayed with vanilla... in the best way possible. I love it. I was going to save it for fall, but I couldn't resist wearing it today, in the heat of summer. I love it.

This is the coffee scent I've been after. Pure coffee? Pure Tonka? New Haarlem? Cafe rose? Literally all the other coffee scented frags I've tried? Nah. Don't like them. They're either not coffee enough, or have a weird floral note that I don't think goes well with coffee. Enter the new player. This is not your traditional "coffee" scent like that pure roasted, nutty, acidic, bean. Nope. This is that vanilla latte you order that smells mostly like a cake with some coffee in the background. It's sweet, it's dense, but the coffee isn't completely lost. I wish this scent had the slightest bit more coffee in it- but this is so close to perfect for my personal tastes, I don't see it getting better than this for me. Performance is great on my skin, last the day with heavy projection as well. If you're looking for a coffee scent that is sweet, rather than floral, look no further.

I blind bought this perfume during Black Friday at great discount. It smells similar to other CSP fragrances with a sweet yummy scent, nothing groundbreaking but enjoyable. This perfume lasts about 6-8 hours on me in 65 degree winter cold weather. It leaves a soft scent trail the first hour but is mainly a skin scent. Anyone standing close to you smells it. As long as you don’t overspray it this perfume shouldn’t be cloying. My only issue is I can’t smell the coffee note in it which is why I bought it. Still searching for my holy grail coffee scent. This fragrance reminds me of CSP Vanille Coco because it has vanilla and a chocolate note. Still glad I bought it and will wear it. Not sure I would repurchase it since I own many CSP perfumes with similar scent.

This is a very pleasant gourmand scent! The opening is very beautiful it reminds me of the tiramisu dessert. The vanilla, cacao, coffee are prominent with a boozy feeling from the benzoin. The almond gives a tonka like effect. The drydown goes to a more cotton candy with vanilla direction. The performance is very good, the longevity is over 10-12 hours and the projection is really good for 2-3 hours. To me is a fall/winter scent, quite versatile and unisex. Overall, this is to me a great coffee gourmand scent! I found a tester bottle for an amazing price and I am very pleased with my choice. If you like sweet, coffee, gourmand scents give this a try!

Extremely woody, rich vanilla that outperforms its price point. The coffee is subtle but it makes the vanilla so special. If you’ve tried any of the other CSP “Vanille” line, like Vanille Abricot or Vanille Coco, they all have this same sugary, slightly caramalized vanilla base, with a featured top note that tends to fade quickly. Vanille Cafe is no different, but the coffee makes it so woody and rich, just like a really rich, expensive vanilla, and the woodiness lingers. It’s a great fall/winter counterpart to Vanilla Coco, one of my summer standards.

This is interesting. Opens with a blast of coffee beans, then as it dries down it kind of smells like sambuca or anise flavored liquor. The final dry down is cocoa powder with a little vanilla and cedar. It’s the least sweet, sugary, and vanilla heavy of the CSP scents that I’ve tried. Overall I think it smells less like a latte and more like kahlua. Projection is light to medium, longevity is ok, about 5hrs. I could see myself wearing this for a night out, definitely would’ve loved it back in my clubbing days.

Testing this as a decant splash. Creamy vanilla cappuccino in a bottle. I literally said “mmm!” as soon as I caught it on my wrist. It’s delicious and cozy in the best way. The opening has a smooth, true coffee bean note that immediately sets the tone. As it settles, it becomes soft, slightly powdery, and wonderfully velvety. The vanilla here feels creamy and natural, without going too sweet. It’s the kind of scent that feels complex in a subtle, effortless way — comforting, versatile, and wearable all year.

Well the name sure is correct on this one. Opens with a spicy vanilla latte smell and stays pretty linear through the life of the frag. It does get a little more sweet vanilla heavy at dry down. It’s cotton candy sweet. If you like vanilla and latte smells this is the one for you. It’s creamy for sure, not a bitter coffee at all. Wonderful scent if you like those smells. I personally like vanilla scents in fall and winter so that’s my recommendation. Sillage is good as is longevity for me. This is a 7/10

This is my go to sweet latte coffee fragrance. It's sweet but not overly sweet and it's blended very nicely. If you are looking for a darker blacker coffee fragrance then I recommend follow by kerosene. Vanille cafe gives decent longevity and projection and is well worth the money. The benzoin note really completes this scent for me. It rounds out the sweetness with some darker resinous vibes. 9/10 fragrance

O M G LOVE THIS!! YUMMY! I will be back to fill in this review more but....this is a delicious cafe. Close but slightly different to the original Mokha fragrance. This scent lacks a chocolate note, which would have made this PERFECT. Beautifully done cafe scent. Lots of vanilla, coffee and a prominent cedar note. Definitely a unisex gourmand coffee scent. I highly recommend for a sweet coffee fragrance.

At first the coffee note is too bitter to my liking, 100% espresso with no sugar. But after a few minutes it turns into a sweet coffee with milk and vanilla sugar. The coffee note starts to fade and it becomes quite faint, but you can still smell it. After giving this a proper try I have to say it's beautiful and I really love this one, a gourmand dream! Reminds me of a Parisian café.

Nice sweet latte fragrance, works great layered with Eclats d'Amandes.

The scent is amazing! Its sweet vanilla, lactonic scent with hint of coffee. The coffee note is really not strong and dissapears quite fast. I feel like dry down is similiar to Vanille Apricot. There is big BUT for me, the sillage is almost non existing and I am big NO NO person when it comes to strong sillage perfumes like coco mademoiselle and etc. I prefer gourmad which will not choke you but Vanille Cafe is barely detectible. I had to spray 6 times to feel it. It will also not last long. I bougt in parallel body mist from one small nich company for 16$ (its without alcohol) and it last much longer and had better sillage (it took just 2 sprays and colleagues in my office was sniffing around me and asked what smells so nice). Will I purchase it again? Really not sure, I might try another vanille cafe perfumes as those are my favorite notes and see.

Never smelled Vanille mokha so cant compare it to that. I dont see any resemblance to by the fireplace myself though. For what its worth I would compare this to something chocolate coffee marshmallow with a bit of extra chewyness and slight smokey factor from the woods. Maybe you take a marshmallow, you have your coffee chocolate drink and you dunk the marshmallow in it, and then you pull out the marshmallow. And its coated with some chocolate and a bit of coffee. The marshmallow feels a little more chewy than normal because of the woody after taste you smell. Maybe from the almond as well... Not a ton of coffee but more so noticeable than some other more popular coffee scents imo. Performance was ok. Id probably pick up a decant if the price was right.

This smells like a childhood trip to a carnival. Cotton candy squished between fingers into a hard paste that drips syrupy sugar and artificial flavouring. You've already eaten enough cotton candy when it still tasted good but you keep going... Essentially a sickly sweet artificial vanilla with a bit of "coffee" def not realistic but idk I kinda like it. I bought It blind because it's pretty cost effective but I won't buy it again as it's too fake smelling and occasionally gives me a headache. But I have gotten a fair few compliments so maybe this is just my nose! Silage-8/10 Longevity-6/10 Scent-4/10 Overall-5/10

This is a hard "like" for me. Would have been a love if it stayed smelling like sweet, caramel vanilla pudding/crème brûlée like it does when first sprayed. After a minute it dries down to a synthetic sweet hot drink smell--somewhere between powdered cappuccino mix and Irish coffee--sadly not the realistic vanilla latte I was hoping for. At this stage, it reminds me of Good Girl (which I don't particularly care for) but is fortunately less sharp and alcoholic. The final dry down is quite nice, a sweet woody skin scent. Longevity is so-so, better than Vanille Abricot from the same brand.

I'm not in love with the opening but that vanilla as it dries down and goes on for hours is delicious. It was still going strong in the morning after spraying it on the night before. That's impressive for an EDT. I do love a good vanilla and whatever else this has going on, it's hard to think of a much better vanilla note. It's just the mix at opening that throws me off a bit. So, it's supposed to be coffee, some chocolatey notes? Not sure about that, seems a woody note is there mixed in with a lot of other things. The dry-down is totally worth it though.

I do like this because the blend of warm and sweet is comforting but the sweetness doesn’t go obnoxious nor does the almond take charge. But for the life of me I can’t figure out why Amour de cacao is the only absolute standout of this brand, and believe me I keep trying. No other scent of theirs can compare with its showstopper qualities. This one has a very nice profile but faded quickly on me.

Autumn, the counter girl at This 'n That curiousity shop is reading a book while sipping a hot fresh latte she bought next door. She wears an almond perfume and burns both incense and a vanilla candle, playing with her long, curly hair while you browse the shop. That's an image this perfume evokes for me. It's surprisingly seasonal, which for me means fall and winter. Warm and cozy!

Soooo funny, this perfume brings me back 25 years ago! It smells EXACTLY like when I was a kid, how my Halloween bag full of candies would smell at the end of a huge night of Trick or Treat. Litterally the smell of all the candies & mini chocolate bars altogether, this is it 🖤🎃☠️

If you are a fan of CSP's vanilla series, you may want to sample first. To me, this is a sharp veer from the brand's signature sweetness into dry woody territory--a LOT of wood, some musk and some coffee.

This is likeable. Like many mentioned before it smells like a vanilla latte/frapuccino, which is nice if that is what you are looking for. There is a slight woodiness to it, but I still mainly get the CSP vanilla in it. The problem I find with this and many other in the CSP vanilla line is that they all smell the same. I've tried many of the other ones from the line that I prefer over this, like Vanille Abricot. I thought that the woodiness would temper the sweetness and make it less cloying but instead it does the opposite. There is nothing fresh in it at all. Could be good for layering? But they kind of nailed the vanilla latte scent, so I would recommend if that is what you want and you like the kind of vanilla CSP uses

Finally bought the fragrance after reading a few reviews. It was a blind buy (i always regret them) and this fragrance was no exception :-( Not that i hate it. Usually i love CSP fragrances. My only problem is that I dont smell any coffee in it. It smells cold and thin. Lacks thickness and warmth of a coffee (that i was wishing for) it is not cosy. More like star bucks frappuccino. With powdered milk and artificial flavour. Honestly I dont get any “Vanille cafe” in it. If i tested it in a store I would have passed it. But now that i have a full bottle i am forcing myself to like it. Maybe i will layer it with Vanille coco to get more density. It sure is long lasting. I would say try it first before you buy it.

Smells way way way better on other people... actually, I revel in how it masterfully pinpoints a very specific emotion within myself when it is worn by family members; it is extremely comforting but also *fun*. It reminds me of sipping baileys during the holidays with siblings, nibbling on candied almonds, and dunking a bit of biscotti into espresso (usually spiked w/ a bit of sambuca)... it is delicious but does not work on my skin, sadly, and the slightly boozy yet quite comfy sweetness tends to become noxious. Sad because it is SUCH a nice scent and punches well above its price point in delivering something special.

Opening is a little sharp, but I get a lot of coffee liqueur and CSP’s signature superfine granulated vanilla sugar. Middle is my least favorite ... it turns extra smoky and earthy. It eventually settles a little and turns into a really pretty smoky, woody, vanilla sugar, which is one of my favorite scent combos. Coffee is very light in the drydown. The roasted, dry coffee notes end up getting swirled into the smoky wood. The drydown reminds me of MIX:BAR Vanilla Bourbon ... so similar that I don’t think I’ll be adding this one to my collection.

Like other reviewers have noted, the coffee note evaporates fairly quickly, though it makes for an absolutely yummy slice of coffee cake for the first half hour, with a boozy touch. The drydown is mostly a comforting vanilla that gives me a strong impression of Vanillinzucker, which is used for baking in Germany. Overall, a lovely gourmand fragrance that's probably at its best in autumn or winter. 6.5/10

Were you ever obsessed with scratch and sniff stickers? That's what it smells like (the chocolate one) with a little bit more depth from the coffee and the wood notes. It is fun and nostalgic. I will save this one for sweater weather. Note: The notes are nothing like Nebras or Eilish. Think if you took those perfumes and made it into a binder sticker.

I was excited for a latte/cappuccino fragrance, but unfortunately, the coffee in this is almost completely undetectable. I get a very sweet, boozy vanilla. This reminds me of outremer’s Vanille. Skip this one if you’re looking for a prominent coffee note

I fell out of love with Vanille Cafe when I noticed the $5 Bath&Body Works Christmas fragrances lasting longer with similar complexity.

I tried this on paper first, and I agree with some other commenters that the coffee note is barely detectable to my nose. I also think the vanilla has an uber-sweet artificial lean, almost of a bubblegum variety. Because of that it smelled of the slightly sickly vanilla body sprays we used after middle school gym class. I wouldn't say it's bad, per se, but not for me. If you like bath & body works' vanilla blends, you'll enjoy this more than I. I will try and spray it later on skin to see if that changes the calculations. EDIT: tried on skin, no real changes to original impression. The musk I can smell more now that it's on my skin, but outside this extra almost cozier quality, the vanilla is still uber-sugary and vaguely artificial, with still no coffee or woodiness notes that I can smell.

I'm having the same issues as others with Vanille Cafe... the coffee note is barely detectable, and when it is detectable, it only lasts a few minutes, then evaporates... and I'm left with vanilla. Just vanilla. Lol. But such is the nature of CSP offerings. Their EDTs do me no favors in longevity, except for Amour de Cacao. Edit: I tried this again and got vanilla + wood chips. Hard pass.

This pulls a lot of cedar on me. I do get vanilla and a dry/bitter coffee note, but also a ton of cedar, which I didn't like. I can understand the comparison to Akro Awake...this is similar but much more muted. It's a pass for me.

Smells like burnt rubber in the opening. Super disappointed in this one. I had high hopes.

I ordered several samples from CSP late last fall when I was looking for a new winter perfume. I was intrigued by this one, (Vanille Cafe), but for some reason, it just didn’t seem all that wintery to me, so I set it aside. (If anyone is interested, I ended up going with Eclats d’Amandes for winter.) Now that I’ve started looking for some new perfumes for summer, I decided to pull my CSP samples out again, and this one immediately struck a chord with me. It reminded me of something tropical, but not in a fruity or coconut way. Then it hit me: it reminds me of Sanibel Island, Florida—specifically the area around Periwinkle Place—or walking through the jungle to the beach. I haven’t been there in years, but my family used to visit annually back when I was a teenager. To be more specific, this perfume reminds me not so much of coffee, but of dry, warm tropical wood. Maybe coffee bean pods or coconut shell mulch? It’s slightly warm and comforting but also clean or fresh not in the soapy sense but in the way the air in a tropical jungle smells clean. Not green really, just pure. There’s vanilla to give it sweetness, but it’s a clean vanilla—not heavy. I really think this could work for summer even though it’s listed as a fall/winter fragrance, especially to those who are looking for a vanilla summer fragrance. It’s so unique and really like no perfume I’ve ever smelled before.

Someone below said that this smells like what your Halloween bag full of candy did as a kid, and that is SPOT on! To me, it's: OPENING: - a confusing rush of different chocolate bar notes - a little bit of synthetic raspberry filling (not listed but it was so strong when I smelled it - I swear it's there) DRY-DOWN: - all of the above, just softer - a powdery musk - a dash of Sweetarts candy - a hint of plastic with nauseatingly-sweet vanilla (which I guess fits with the feeling of a Halloween bag of candy, with leftover candy bar wrappers) There is something a little bit off-putting about this - I'm not sure what note it is. Maybe a combo of the green almond and the benzoin siam. But it actually smells like the inside of those colored plastic tubes of mini M&Ms after you've finished them all. Definitely not what I expected, and not something I personally enjoy. But could be fun for a nostalgic feel, or for a Halloween scent.

Originally was just looking for a gourmand to throw in my collection, started looking at a few Montale Chocolate Greedy, Intense Cafe and so on well I wasn't having much luck finding those at the time I was looking, I don't remember exactly how I stumbled onto this one but I am glad I did, The opening isn't the greatest slightly harsh alcohol and synthetic vibe but give it 5-10 minutes to settle and it becomes a lighter sweet vanilla scent with a light hint of coffee it seems to stay this way throughout most of the wear it does softens up a little more after a few hours and has more of a hot coca scent than coffee which isn't bad at all, it has decent longevity and projection it reminds me off a softer sweeter version of Maison Margiela Replica: By the fireplace, If you like By the Fireplace, you will probably like this one as well

At first I wasn’t sure I liked this fragrance. Starts off with a coffee and a bit smoky smell, then goes into the vanilla. Still the slight coffee and smokiness. This fragrance grew on me. It reminds me of those international cafe powdered coffee that came in a canister, if they still sell them. I wear it during the day, it’s not over powering. I don’t think it’s a spring or summer fragrance, more fall and winter. I’m curious how this is a unisex fragrance, because of the vanilla note, how it would translate on a man.

I am so happy that Comptoir Sud Pacifique has released this fragrance again. This scent truly smells like coffee and cream. If you are looking for a true coffee note, this should make you ecstatic. I have been wearing this perfume for years and years and it has garnered many compliments. This fragrance is ideal for Autumn and Winter. If you are craving a true coffee scent, look no further. Comptoir Sud Pacifique always delivers quality, so this gorgeous fragrance should be just what you are looking for.

I'm surprised by how much I like this. I love their Vanille line, but the Cafe bit of this one worried me. I will admit... I did not care for it the second I sprayed it, as all I could smell was an earthy note. But a few seconds later the vanilla came through and I LOVE the combo. For me it smells like chocolate and not coffee, a slightly floral chocolate. I'm on the fence of whether I'd purchase it again (because there are others I like more) but I am looking forward to enjoying what I have left.

I've received my Comptoir Sud Pacifique Vanille Café smells nice but it kept reminding me of another fragrance in the dry down,then i thought it smells similar to MAISON MARGIELA REPLICA BY THE FIREPLACE or maybe it's just my nose lol,good Projection and longevity,i think it's best for Fall and Winter.

I love this! Exactly as everyone has said, coffee with a lot of cream, in a perfume! However, I do not understand why anyone would spray a cotton ball with water, then perfume, rub it across areas, & call it a primer. Makes NO sense. Spray this on you, your hair, or your clothes & be done w/ it~

The dry down on this reminds me so much of the woodyness in Montale Sweet Vanilla but without the powder and without most of the vanilla. I like it well enough but can't justify the purchase given the fact that Sweet Vanilla and Coffee Break are both so much better.

On my skin this smells like a non intrusive warm vanilla cafe latte. Rather than smelling like I bathed in campfire coffee or rolled in dry coffee grounds like some coffee fragrances insist this perfume suits my taste. Affordable. ✨

I was hopeful to get the iced coffee latte that everyone is talking about, or at least the chocolate. All I got was a very sharp coffee note - no sweetness nor creaminess, it smells like a espresso. Big no for me.

I get a very benzoin-y, woody scent with a hint of vanilla. It’s just shy of boozy. I don’t get any almond. Too much wood and benzoin to be wearable for me, but I probably wouldn’t mind it on a man.

I really like this one. I get more chocolate than coffee. It this smells a bit like French Vanilla coffee at Tim Hortons. I find it last 6 hrs or more. It's my favourite 'coffee/chocolate' perfume.
