Vanille Iconique

Just picked this up on a discount and wow, it's so similar to Vanilla Woods! I love that fragrance, own it in full size and a few travel sprays and know it very well, this is extremely similar. Similar to Cheriosa 40 as well but definitely smokier- I will say it's that type of smokey note some ppl don't like that can be akin to cigarette smoke- if you know Vanilla Woods you know what I'm talking about. I myself like a little smokiness. So far, I'm getting pretty good longevity and silliage is about an arms length 1 hour in. The peach is barely there for me, it's mainly a smokey, caramel-y deep vanilla. So basically, if you're a VW fan and see this for a good price it may be the better option considering it comes in a 100ml for around $65 and VW is only 50ml for $88. Idk, I still adore my VW the best though, but this is sooo close. I'll probably just alternate them. I'll bet it's gonna be better in winter temps (it's currently 95° 🌞)

Feminine, mature vanilla . This a more mature/sophisticated vanilla fragrance. It has peach, magnolia and ambergris counterpointing the wood and vanilla notes. Its sweetness comes from the peach rather than a sugary base. The vanilla is rich and the price point will reflect the use of Tahiti Vanilla Absolute and Bourbon Vanilla Absolute. Ambergris adds richness, tones of floral, spice and an overall blended softness encompasses the wearer. If your 30+ looking for a more grown up vanilla type scent, this is a well done option. Bought this to layer. It’s a nice, very inoffensive vanilla EDT that smells natural, not overly sweet compared to some other vanillas. Smells almost exactly like 7 Virtues Vanilla Woods on dry down. Have to spray a lot since it’s an EDT, but it’s not terribly expensive for a 100ml bottle. Edit: have had this for almost 2 months, and I really love it. It’s just easy to wear. It’s what I would call a “cool vanilla”, as in closer to vanilla extract as opposed to a warm vanilla that smells more like baked goods. It’s been great over the summer. Not cloying, very comforting. Just love it.

holy!! this is amazing! i seen the comparison to vanilla woods by the 7 virtues and that’s my all time favourite perfume but i can’t justify buying it because the longevity isn’t great and stuff, but i already have had about five or so perfumes from this brand they’re my fav so when it went on sephora for sale i used my points and got it for 18$ and it’s the best bang for your buck!!! please get it. it’s longevity it honestly great

The notes listed above are not accurate. To my nose this is much closer to a fruity vanilla. I believe there is a peach note in the opening. Very similar to 7 Virtues Vanilla Woods but not as intense. I was impressed with performance for it being an EDT.

I love this , it reminds me of vanilla woods and midnight shimmer ! The person below me Ceeceelee I bought mine from the official website and there is no fruity notes . It has Tahitian vanilla Bourbon vanilla Cedar wood Sandalwood & musk.

This is a pure vanilla fragrance with a very elegant peach note. It's great for spring and summer in my opinion but it could be nice in winter too.

My first reaction was: ”Oh wow, this really does smell just like Cheirosa 40!” Even though they are similar I think the more I’ve worn Vanille Iconique I see also how different they are. I’ve recently grown to love Cheirosa 40, and I spray it at home a lot but I do still think it can smell a bit juvenile and ”cheapy” at times. Vanille Iconique definitely does not, it is like a more sophisticated version of Cheirosa 40. It has a lot more depth to it, it is not as fruity, and leans more into vanilla. Though the major difference is that this smells smoky! At first I thought it was just smoky in the beginning but after giving this perfume multiple wear tests I’ve noticed that the smoky note is consistent throughout the whole wear. It almost reminds me of tobacco a bit, and while tobacco note can be wonderful in some perfumes (this one does not actually have it) it is the odd smokiness that put me off from wanting to buy this as it bothers me that people around me might think I’ve been smoking cigarettes. Otherwise I think it’s a great scent truly and it does smell good to me, but for me personally the smokiness starts to irritate me after wearing it a while. Also the notes here are wrong! The correct notes according to CSP packaging are: top - almond, peach middle - tahiti vanilla absolute, magnolia, cedar wood base - bourbon vanilla absolute, white musk, ambergris I bought all of my samples from the official French Comptoir sud Pacifique website.

My skin plays VERY nicely with vanillic and lactonic fragrances, so please take this into account. This is the first of three CSP samples purchased directly from their site. Fresh this smells like warm vanilla and powder, reminiscent of Demeter's Vanilla Cake Batter – my signature years ago. Five minutes in, there is a distinct Tahitian vanilla fragrance. I use Tiki Tahiti's Vanille monoi oil in my hair and it smells like that mixed with Demeter's Cake Batter – familiar and pleasant. At 30 minutes I still smell Tahitian vanilla, the powder is stronger, and I am beginning to pick up a hint of musk and something smoky. It no longer smells like Cake Batter, and is becoming something more... mature? At an hour the smoky musk and powder are strongest. Vanilla is still there, but weaker. At two hours it is the same; a smoky, musky vanilla. I like it and it's something I think most people would enjoy, but it's not different enough to justify the cost for me. *note* This was still noticeable the next morning; 20 hours later!

I do love a sweet woody vanilla and I really enjoy this one. The vanilla is lighter, less like an extract and more like a fluffy cake. It’s quite fruity; even though the notes do not list fruit i can smell peach. As it settles it’s more powdery. It’s not very complex but pleasant and a good value for money in my opinion.

Love this! Opening is slightly odd but within 5-10 minutes settles down into this gorgeous vanilla fruity musk scents that smells nearly identical to Cheriosa 40 by Sol De Janerio. The scent lasted me a good three hours before fading away on skin. Will probably last longer on clothes. Pricey but gorgeous scent!

Herby vanilla in the same vein as Guerlain SDV and dupes. Longevity is good, arm's length for a few hours, close for a few more, and skin for a few more. Not the same candy vanilla base as their other vanille (extreme, coco, banane, etc) scents.

The official brand notes list peach and vanilla as top notes. They're not listed here in the note section. The peach adds fruity, which will throw you off if you're just wanting what's listed. Also, if you don't like peach, eh, this might not be blind buy safe for you. Sorry to damn with faint praise but peach and I have a difficult scent relationship. Also, it just feels redundant to the CSP scent portfolio. Like it's been done, retired and then tinkered with a bit and sent back out into rotation. I know a new perfumer is listed, so maybe it's just the DNA of the brand giving it that feel, but it's a consideration when buying. I tested from an official sample bought off the website, splash decant type. I should have looked at their website notes instead of going off Fragrantica's. I could have avoided the peach, knowing my dislike of the note.

Vanille Iconique- I feel okay about this. It's not really my thing, but I do slightly like it. It smells like Dior Poison Girl if my memory is correct. It's a vanilla mixed with booze, tobacco, leather, and incense - sweet dirtiness. Probably best for nights on colder months. Sits close to skin to arms length. Unisex. It's one of the more unique fragrances I've tried from Comptior Sud Pacifique. I probably wouldn't buy it or keep if gifted, bc it just isn't my type of smell. About 24 hours later and there is still a decent amount of scent left on my skin. The longevity is impressive, it's eternal!

Definitely vanilla, but is it iconique? Vanilla iconique is just ok. Very inoffensive and wearable, but not entirely to my taste. It's lacking depth or the earthiness that you get from a fresh vanilla pod, or, if not that, some other twist. I get the comparison to Cheirosa 40. It's in the same genre with a fruity note layered over a heavy dose of vanilla, which smells like more like vanillin rather than a fresh vanilla pod. Like others mentioned, I get peach or stone fruits. It lasts for about 4 hours on me. Perfect to wear to the gym!

Ok so the opening is literally The Most Gorgeous Vanilla ever. Balanced, sweet, complex. However the dry down is just.....dark. Like old wood and powder. I smell a bit of tobacco too. It’s powdery and smoky in a not nice way. The benzoin is so prominent here. I wish that it settled into something lighter and cozier. It smells very similar to Vanilla Woods by The 7 Virtues.

This is just alright, nothing to write home about. I got it as a sample as I'm looking for a worthy vanilla-based fragrance. I won't purchase a full bottle, but I will use the sample vial up. Who knows, I may learn to love it as many others do. If you are on the fence, buy a sample and see if it suits what you're looking for!

Maybe the sales assistant got confused, because supposedly she gave me a card with this spritzed on, but I have a feeling it was a different scent because all I could smell was vanilla and peach and then mainly peach. Maybe it was Vanilla Peach or Vanilla Abricot. Anyone has smelled peach in Vanilla Iconique? Merci :)

Reminds me of Nemant Vanilla Musk oil.

This is a disappointing vanilla that is in no way iconic. It is really all I smell when sprayed without much of anything else. Thankfully, it only lasted about 20 minutes (with 4 sprays) so I didn't have to physically scrub it. I haven't had good luck with this house.

Did not like this at all, because this vanilla has that woody base which I happen to hate. Reminds i.e. of Black Vanilla by Mancera or Nebras by Lataffa.

Cheap Burnt Caramel like Cheirosa 40, but cheap

This smells like a cheap attemp at a clone for 7V Vanilla Woods. I don’t know how this house got so popular with scents that don’t last more than 20 minutes, but aside from that, there is absolutely nothing iconic about this vanilla. For a true iconic vanilla, go with Mazzolari Vaniglia or Tihota Indult. Comparatively, this is a sad joke.

How can anyone say this smells like Cheirosa 40? I love that one, and based on the reviews saying that this smells like it , I blindly ordered it . Mistake . It smells nothing like Cheirosa 40. Nothing ! This is a plain, boring, not foody, not gourmand, woody, sandalywoody vanilla, somewhat lactonic. Absolutely nothing fruity in here, or Cheirosa 40 is all about fresh tangy fruit and vanilla. This is not bad, it’s quite persistent , but not sweet enough to be my kind of vanilla. Could be unisex too. I regret believing the reviews. Try before you buy.

I saw this compared to 7 virtues vanilla woods. After receiving it, I would say they’re very similar. Vanille iconique has a little less pear, and more brown sugar. Feels more airy, projects more and leaves behind a greater scent trail than vanilla woods on me. Overall an excellent alternative. I was able to get the large 3.3oz bottle for $50 from qvc, which is a great deal compared to vanilla woods which only comes in a 1.7oz bottle for $88.

This one was harsh to my nose, initially not really sweet, more like tobacco, smoky and medicinal vibes. I hated it...At first, then it mellowed into a pleasant basic vanilla scent. I'm not impressed but the drydown is nice and the top notes go away within a half an hour for me. Will probably get rid of it. For reference I love foody/gourmand and clean skin scents best.

Almond and peach first on, with vanilla and indole. Not clearly a floral indole, but the moth ball is there. After awhile it fades off and I end up with a vanilla with a hint of jasmine floral with that peach. Fruity juicy, pretty, but not my kind of thing.

I was expecting vanilla. This smelled like more sandalwood and maybe a slight vanilla bourbon. I wouldn’t call this iconic. The vanille extreme is more iconic to me. This smelled cheap

Really pretty, bright, fresh take on a double vanilla perfume with the add of a cheerful peach note(though not listed). Nice! ✨

Nice wild peach infused vanilla fragrance but it seems watered down with terrible sillage. ✨

I must be anosmic to it. I don't smell nothing. Just a little sandalwood. No vanilla.

Seconding the Cheriosa 40 comment! Definitely smells almost identical.
