03. Oasis Slip - 2026

I bought this when i was looking for a "desert" fragrance for a summer roadtrip through Joshua Tree and Arizona. I smelled it in the store, several times, exiting in an out of the shop just to make sure my nose wasn't being bamboozled. My first impression was wow I've never smelled anything so unique! And the brand's conception of this fragrance describing it as an "oasis in the desert" made it sound exactly like what I was searching for. Plus the $90 price point and impossibly cool bottle design really sold me so I copped it. A few days later I'm in my airbnb in Joshua Tree, peeling off the plastic and enthusiastically- I anointed my wrists with the very first sprays of Oasis slip. Surely something was off because I immediately felt so nauseous. The next morning we hit the road and I gave Oasis slip another shot. With a few sprays around neck, the nausea returned. Something about the sulphuric coconut note mixed with the sharpness of the rose just immediately gave me a headache. I will say that the dry down was very pleasant, a warm musky amber but nothing special on that front. Such a shame because I really wanted to love this. creamy coconut with watery magnolia, stemmy roses, a rooty and extra earthy ginger, and a sandalwoody base. Sorta beachy but in a farmers market way, maybe coastal granddaughter even lol. This brand loves to highlight the earthy facets of its notes and this is highlighted here. The rose is bare, the ginger peeled, the coconut creamy but not sweet, the magnolia crisp. Takes a beachy scent profile and flips it on its a head in a really interesting way.
