Boisée Rouge

I received a sample of this with my recent purchase of the stunning Vanilla Bourbon. I have yet (until this one) to find a cherry/berry that doesn't have that musky thing going on. I know Lost Cherry is loved by many but it's got that musk to my nose. Another berry type fragrance loved by many, The Chronic Rouge Extreme, same thing, musky. I do love Cocoapink Black Cherry Upside Down Cake but Cocoapink fragrances have the worst performance even at their "Smell Me Across Town" strength. I have not smelled anything from the "Reminds Me Of Section" other than Lost Cherry. This Boisee Rouge, however, is exactly what I've been seeking in a cherry/berry fragrance. I get no suede note, thank God because I can't do leather or suede. This is sweet vanillic cherry. It smells like they've taken Vanilla Bourbon and added a sweet cherry to it. It's beautiful. It's simple. If you love Vanilla Bourbon from this house and you like cherry, this is a very safe blind buy and no Brainer. Don't be afraid of the suede, I don't smell it at all. Oh and the performance on these fragrances is well above average. The sample allotted me only about 5 sprays and I can still smell it loud and clear on my sleeve. Only bad thing about this house is that I'm in the US and shipping is like $20 😭. They also sent me a sample of Jardin Jaune and that is really good too!! So I'm loving this house.

Boisée Rouge was launched in mid-2019, the time of year when temperatures are already lower in Brazil. Once again, it was a well-planned choice in order to launch a fragrance like this, full of sweet and intense accords. Boisée Rouge, which in Portuguese would be translated into something like the Red Forest, uses the intense red as the color of the synesthetic process and brings a new fragrance of oriental-gourmand appeal to the brand's portfolio, after Tabac D’Or. The fragrance has top notes of blackberry, strawberry, raspberry, and cherry; Middle notes of cherry blossom, heliotrope, and bitter almonds; Base notes of sandalwood, suede, tonka bean, vanilla, and vetiver. Brief analysis: a children's syrup of red fruits, sweetened by a vanilla essence and poured over a suede sofa, whose smell does not come out not even after an industrial wash. And although this description seems scary, Boisée Rouge has good surprises and deserves a more enlightening text. Incredibly as it may seem, the fragrance does not reach the skin as if a jar of red fruit jelly had been poured over our heads. Upfront, bitter almonds speak louder and bring all that typical almond aroma, but with less creaminess and more bitterness. Only then, the red fruits arrive and, of course, the strong smell of the cherry dominates, especially because it is an ingredient that has almond nuances, reminiscent of the smell of Amaretto. The blackberry and the strawberry only give color, but the raspberry, more acid and vibrant, holds the reins of this combo a little. Although it does not have much evolution, Boisée Rouge begins to lose a little of that synthetic and medicinal aspect of children's syrup to give way to a more balanced fragrance, in which the cherry blossom deserves to be highlighted, since it gives floral nuances and harmonizes very well with the heliotrope, also known as vanilla flower. Here, the fragrance begins a new phase, leaving the smell of a jelly made of cherry with almonds and bringing a smell of cheesecake made of almonds with vanilla. And everything takes on another meaning! From this point on, Boisée Rouge becomes creamier, with dominant vanilla nuances and a light suede in the background, bringing a rasp effect. In my opinion, this fragrance has fewer woods than I expected, but that does not take away the shine of the product since I like oriental and gourmand perfumes. However, some points need to be reinforced, since many people like to buy blindly and then when they don't adapt, they tend to make negative comments: if you don't like sweet fragrances, don't insist; if you don't like very strong fragrances, don't insist; if you can't stand perfumes that bring notes of cherries, don't insist; if you work at indoor, stuffy and shared places, do not wear it in this environment. I haven't used this term in one of my reviews in a while, but Boisée Rouge is a bomb! It exhales all the time, tirelessly, in addition to sticking on the skin. It requires great care in the application and, truth be told, it does not need more than three sprays. And please don't wear it on hot days. Finally, I don't think it's an elegant perfume, because gourmand fragrances, in general, are not elegant. They are warm, tend to bring a sense of comfort, family olfactory memories and may even have a sophisticated and sensual side. But elegance is not an appropriate adjective and Boisée Rouge makes you want to embrace and bite the wearer. The rest I leave to your imagination.

Nice scent. Could be more balanced. I know it's unisex but I thought it would lean slightly more feminine than it does after reading the notes. The suede is definitely more worn leather suede instead of a light soft suede. To my nose it's the strongest scent and overpowers the rest. The cherry and almond pop forward a little bit but I wish the berry notes were more prominent. People definitely notice the scent ( idk if good or bad) I don't love it but keep wanting to wear it for done reason. It's a little reminisce of TF Cherry Smoke but not nearly as sweet or cherry forward, or blended. But the idea is there in more masculine form. It's definitely overall a good scent for winter if you are a leather lover. You can also layer to soften with a vanilla musk, I find that works well.

Trying to be too many things at once, a fragrance beast that sent me into a coughing fit. Cherry and dusty suede.

Smell like straight up varnish to me!
