Libertine

Wow, this is one of the most unique and interesting fragrances I've ever tried and I've tried hundreds. This fragrance is simply art. I had no idea what it smelled like before I looked at the notes. This has an incredible charisma about it. If you're a leader or just an ambitious person, this could be a great signature scent. Very well-balanced and has a little bit of everything. It's slightly powdery, ambery, musky, woody and sweet at the same time and it doesn't lean into any of those too much. One of the most complex fragrances in my collection. Cedar is not listed specifically, but I smell a very strong cedar note in this similar to what is in Royal Oud by Creed. The beeswax and rose are the most noticeable after looking at the notes, but without looking I would've never guessed, that is how well-blended this is. It smells like a memorable and charismatic character from a movie, there's nothing generic about it. This is very masculine IMO and perfect for more mature men and/or men who have a classy/elegant style. I'm in my late 20s, but I'll be rocking this confidently with the right outfit. This seems like a very strong and intense fragrance and if you smell it up close on the skin you could potentially get a headache. I imagine this is amazing when smelled in the air though because of how distinct, unique, but pleasant it is. 9/10

i like this fragrance very much. it first reminded me of le labo's the noir, but i have had them all day on my wrists to compare them and actually they are not that similar. i have always thought the noir smells of a dark rose with black honeyed tea and a bit boozy, even though rose is not listed. libertine is a dark rose too on me, a little bit sweeter in the honey note than the noir, woody and definitely a bit boozy, but without that prominent hay note that the noir has. libertine doesn't smell too cuminy, it is nice and spicy though, and just so good (and not like that soapy mess that is le labo's rose 31, for example). i have had it on for 8h now, it became a very sexy skin scent after 4-5h, and i still can smell it. so i am quite happy about perfomance (the noir on the other arm has been stronger all the way through). this is definitely very sexy and appealing. have come back to the sample several times since i have received it, and found myself really wanting it. nice one! edit: bought a FB and finding the bitter orange opening way stronger than from the sample. overall i adore this fragrance. and it doesn't remind me on the noir anymore. lol

Wow! Fabulous. A bright, rich citrusy opening. OK, a touch Pledge but only a touch. A bit waxy, a bit leathery with some cedarwood adding gravitas in the base. I don't get much cognac on my vegetarian skin. Not much rose either. Yes, there is a gentle, warm, honeyed orange blossom sweetness that is intoxicating and sexy. A bit musky on kissable skin. Oh yeah....if you want someone to move in a lot closer then this delectable scent should do it. Its not perfume but sexy, honeyed skin. Not bad longevity or sillage. Great price point and presentation to.

Got virtuous, and this layers with it. Was really keen to try it as I love virtuous so much so I got the 2ml - it packs a punch that's for sure. Really sexy, feel like it's a rose for men or women. Normally not into layering and all that, but it really really goes well so I think I'm going to buy their little travel pens so I can play around with it. At this rate I think I might as well buy the discovery set, I've heard a lot about devious and that it's better than Tom Ford's lost cherry. Let's see.

Unusual, complex, erotic and absolutely beautiful! The initial opening is light, fresh and orangery, this fades quickly and the underlying notes of beeswax and spice come through; the spicy note reminded me of a new lead pencil. Everything then turns dark, warm and smoky as the rose comes through. This is not summer garden floral rose but a dark red rose crushed and discarded next to a china bowl of oranges in a darkened room lit only by a crackling, sparking log fire.

A scent that is inspired by Cassanova’s crotch. Need I say more? Boozy, bitter, animalic, sweet, warm and inviting. Unlike Virtuous that feels uplifting, Libertine makes you feel wild and sensual. Definitely sexual and bold as it lingers longer on my skin. Cassanova’s crotch. A person who’s hobby is to entice and seduce anyone who comes in their way and gets away with it.

I usually despise cumin but this is wonderful, it's done in a way that stands out but is absolutely not overwhelming. That being said, it still smells quite sexy and sweaty and I definitely want a bottle for personal use at bedtime only.

This perfume doesn't last long enough to be called an extract 🙄

this opens with bitter orange, rose and cumin, with a hint of beeswax in the background. the rose gets stronger and it gets quite floral. it's like orange juice and florals with a hint of something that smells like fabric. after a bit, i get the leather and cognac as well. finally the leather takes over more and the orange dies down. in a nutshell it's like a leathery orange blossom with amber and beeswax in the end. this one is interesting-i like most aspects of it but wish it was somehow heavier. i can see how it's sexy but not to the degree people are claiming on the other reviews. still, a nice one that i am curious to try in warm weather-i think it might be even better then (?)

It smells like someone peeling an orange in a warm leather chair with a lit candle and glass of cognac nearby. Wonderfully unisex - smells great on both me and my partner. I don't normally go for leathery smells, but the fruits and florals balance it out perfectly. EDIT: I have been wearing this all day and I keep thinking of the perfume as 'shapely' and I don't know why. Perhaps the waxy notes? It just feels 3 dimensional whenever I inhale it and I think that's really cool because I don't currently have any other perfume that gives me the feeling of it existing in solid, 3 dimensional space

Bought a sample of this to try as the notes are right up my alley. Smells fabulous in the bottle, but it does dry down a bit too masculine for me. Woodsy, warm and spicy. I don't get much rose or citrus. Lasts for hours. If you have the right body chemistry this could be amazing on any gender, I'm sad I'm not one of those people.

Quite nice, however something in this puts me off a bit ... Maybe the cumin. Smells like something Francesca Bianchi might put out, thought it's doesn't have the same denseness or performance as most of her creations.Fairly moderate projection & longevity.

Smells like a hot grog made of tea+rum+orange peel+soft spices to me. Very comforting.

This is something I'd see Nicolas Cage in Wild at Heart wearing, and maybe Nikki Sixx, any day of the week. Boozy, animalic, warm, cheeky, charmy, all nicely blended and I think the dark wood here may be doing the trick. Strong projection the first 2 hours, moderate longevity, which is quite alright with this one.

Contradictions In Ilk have managed to create an accord of hot man. The top notes absolutely recreate the smell of a man who has just been exerting himself - it's fresh sweat, not stale sweat, and you can almost feel the body heat. Along with that, you also get a blast of an alcoholic drink - something strong with orange peel in it. I've never tried orgeat so I'll take their word for it that that is how it smells. I don't get the gunpowder or the beeswax. The top notes transport you straight to a bedroom with a rumpled bed and two empty glasses. Over time, it calms right down and after a few hours what remains is not particularly distinguished compared to the top notes. It's different, it's clever but I'm not convinced it's how I want to smell. On the other hand, I am so glad I have tried it.

A perfume inspired by casanovas crotch - what's not to love!! Absolutely delicious. Lingering, sensual, the rose and brandy mingle and mellow out the cumin. Sex on legs.
