Olfactive Diary Entry #35 Upon initial spray, Sincere starts off very much like peachy milk. But after just a few minutes, the fresh peachiness turns into peach skin with a fuzzy sensation that dominates the experience. I never properly experienced lactonic notes before, but here, yes - it is very lactonic from start to dry down. It reminds me of hard milk candy, with a milkiness that almost has turned slightly fudgey. It is an interesting facet, that takes the fragrance deep into gourmand territory without being sickly sweet. The base is ambery, coconut with a carpet of musk. I can clearly identify most notes here, yet the perfume is well-blended and beautifully transforms into "a whole". I will need more time to fully process my thoughts and impression, but for a first wear, I'd say that it's very, very good. Yes, it is unisex, but I wouldn't apply that term specifically. When I think unisex, I think it's neither feminine nor masculine, like the absence of gender. But this perfume? I would say that it is almost gender-enhancing. On a woman, this oozes of maternal, embracing and nurturing sensibilities. On a man, this excuses masculine, characteristic and reliable notions. No matter the gender, Sincere exudes sexiness, a unique sense of character and allure. Overall, a very appealing and unique fragrance with a fitting name! Edit: I am listening to an introduction of this fragrance by its maker, Annabella Fasano-Leslie. She says the following: "Sincere is inspired by a profound love, that of a mother. It contains scents associated with comforting nozzling, of pure love. It has white flowers, almonds, peach flesh, peach fuzz, saffron, and condensed milk, which has a sweet breast milk quality. People have said that it reminds them of the chai tea of their childhood. It is very soothing." Her description of the notes ring so true. Lovely description.

Really loving this! I get this sheer spiciness in the opening - saffron and ginger. As it settles in that milk note is reminding me of Jeaux de Peau - a little nutty/dusty. This phase doesn't last as long as I would have wanted but then it evolves into this peachy milky musk - it becomes sweeter, creamier, nuttier. I am not getting an outright coconut but the creamy fattiness is there. Yet still there is this sheerness that really prevents it from becoming a cloying gourmand. I am easily anosmic to fluffy musks so I cannot tell if that is amping up yet or not but I am definitely getting the ambrette musks. I can see someone has compared it to This is Her and I do get that vibe on the paper strip but on the skin this develops very differently - it calms down it smells more "natural" more musky/nutty less woody than This is Her. I will continue testing through my travel decant - it might become a full bottle for me.

I'm thinking that this is one of those scents which reacts very differently on different people, so not blind buy safe. However you should definitely sample this is you have the opportunity. On me it is like a hot cup of sweet spiced almond milk slightly scotched. Very comforting and indulgent. I could smell it wafting around me for well over 4 hours adding to the effect of simmering warmth. This could well be pungent or cloying for some. I don't get much fruit however, just general sweetness. This was the only one of the tester set where I knew I needed a full bottle.

This is a perfect scent for when you want to feel calm, warm and safe. Sincere is a unique composition, blended to perfection. A sweet and boozy opening leads to the creamy, milky, slightly powdery heart. There is a bit of spiciness coming from saffron and ginger with a touch of amber. Ambrette and soft musk round out this beautiful fragrance, while the notes of warm milk and creamy coconut are playing nicely on my skin... This is such a warm, comforting and cosy scent. While wearing it, I'm cocooned from the whole world...

Creamy peach, ginger and saffron that goes powdery. I can pick up coconut and musk in the drydown. This is so addicting. It reminds me of a freshly bathed baby wrapped in a silky soft blanket with milk on their breath and cheek. Very soft projection within arms length and longevity I thought was short lived but I've been wearing it more these past few days and it has good longevity about 6-8 hours. Longer on textiles. It's a little salty on price but I'll probably end up buying a fb anyway. Curious about Devious now.

Weirdest thing: I have 2 decants. One is an addictive soft scent, sweet almond milk w/saffron and hint of peach. Lovely! Made me want to buy a FB. The other one though smells like a genuine curry buffet. Very unpleasant and unwearable really. I see the same differences in the comments below. Can't they get a consistent quality because of the ingredients? I am puzzled.

This is such an underrated perfume and a brand itself. Love this one. Peppery milk (I guess ginger and orris play that way), very comforting and elegant. Nothing screaming or brain drilling. I don't get on well with ambrette and so happy I don't detect it here. My perfect milk scent indeed.

This scent always intrigued me since I got a sample a year ago. I didn't dislike it, but it was too weird to like it. I would wear it on experiment days, but not as a first choice. I like most of the notes, and the fruity seems to be minimal and well balanced. I like how I can't tell what the notes are, and it just becomes its own thing. Recently, I decided to try it again after months, and it just clicked. Very clean and cozy, fresh and warm, sweet but not obviously. It was perfect to drift off into sleep. It kind of surprised me to see others saying it reminded them of baby oil, and other things. But anyway I decided to wear it to work today, seemed safe enough (at an elementary school). The scent lasted most of the day, but every time I noticed it all I could think was "baby oil!" I think it's the base coconut-orris combination. But damn, it's ends up like baby oil. Suits my environment I guess :) I was wearing Veracruz Gardens by DSH the other day, and a student told me they smelled paint lol (tempera washable paint) I get it and maybe that is what it ends up smelling like, but I also think that it is such a beautiful blend of notes that becomes a whole new, complete thing.

On my skin, this is sooo similar to Teo Cabanel's Je Ne Sais Quoi that I might even have trouble differentiating them. Even though their notes seem to differ, I can definitely smell rice in both, as well as a distinctive paper-y trail. It's cosy and cashmere in a way, perfect for an afternoon in the park with a good book.

The notes I pick up most are ginger, coconut, peach, and saffron. Reminds me of Victoria secret warm & cozy with a peach twist.

It's definitely a musky, powdery lactonic skin scent. I guess there's a tiny facet if this that could possibly read as peach shampoo? Not peachy though. I get saffron too, grounding it. It is warm, cosy and clean. Innocent- the kind of thing id expect to smell if i was passing through the children's section in a furniture showroom, but it's not childish. Intimate scent silage. Stronger and more complex fragrance than its counterpart, Devious.

Nice base notes with the milky peachy musk, but the saffron and ginger make this too foody for me and remind me of curry. Also the longevity is not that great, under 1 hour for me. For a nearly identical nutty scent minus the foody savouriness I recommend Soie Malaquais by Dries Van der Noten.

This is more savory than sweet to me. I'm not getting any of the sweet notes in the description, but a lot of ginger.

Goodness me but this one packs a punch, in an eye watering kind of way. You want milky/lactonic, sweet, then this is for you. Me personally, no, it's way too strong. I wish I got the ginger or anything that would cut through it, but alas no. I was curious about their contrasting scent, Devious, that you use to layer with Sincere to produce another, possibly more palatable, scent, but looking at those notes I'm not sure it would make this better, as it too has a lot of syrupy, sweet notes. It's possible that in colder weather this might come into its own. Maybe I'll try it again then.

a very edible scent, not in a good way. If you grew up eating curry, you know this scent well. I think it's the ginger and saffron that give too much of a heavy foody vibe.

What an odd scent profile. I understand how people think this smells like baby oil, but for me, I smell butter popcorn. It is so weird. This is truly awful to my nose.

After reading Patrick Süskind's Perfume, I started searching for a scent that encapsulates Grenouille's description in Chapter 8, "This scent was a blend of both, of evanescence and substance ... like a piece of thin, shimmering silk... and yet again not like silk, but like pastry soaked in honeysweet milk" Sincere by Contradictions in ILK returns me to those pages and evokes a crush of nostalgia, sadness, and comfort in the chest. It is a fragrance that I confidently wear for myself, which justifies its intimate sillage. The notes described in the Perfume Pyramid is accurate. The substance and shimmer of the ginger flower and peach combine with lactonic notes to create a spiced, human interpretation of milk. It dries down into a silky sweet cream, gourmand, sparsely nutty, with a lilt of saffron. Subtle, soft, honest. What is most remarkable about this fragrance is that it doesn't quite feel like your own. Like Grenouille, it's as if i'm wearing the essence of somebody else- maternal and close, hoping that to others, they believe it's just me.

This may be my favorite scent I've smelled to date. I got a sample in my Olfactif box and instantly bought a full bottle. Sincere is the definition of cozy. It's very lactonic and sweet, but the sweetness is cut by the ginger, orris, and musk. It reminds me of a chai tea latte scent, with an interesting hint of peach. It's just comfort in a bottle. I love wearing it in the fall/winter and even just to bed. It's such a calming, soft, pleasing scent. Sillage is great, and I find that it lasts about 6 hours on my skin. I put mine on at 1:30 PM and it's 7PM and I am still getting whiffs of it. I would also say it's pretty safe for a blind buy and is office/crowd friendly. That said, it's pricey, so maybe pick up a sample from Ilk first. And while you're at it, get a sample of devious so you can try layering them.

So I blindly bought this 2 days and it arrived today. I purchased a 50ml based off the notes above and the previous comments left. I am surprised at how much I like this scent. It truly is warm, cosy and inviting but also slightly fiery due to the ginger. I get the milk on the opening and only a hint of the peach - which doesn’t bother me at all. The amber & saffron definitely keep this lingering around. It reminds me of Changing Constance by Penhaligons, it’s very well blended and after 5 hours is still detectable on my skin(mind you I only did one spray). I would definitely purchase again. This is a very unique scent.. when I first sprayed it I was sure I would be getting a full size bottle. It opens super gourmand and I get a sweet pastry vibe from it.. almost like I'm smelling a pie crust. However, the longer I wore this the more the saffron and ginger came out and started to smell too much like dinner (specifically curry), and not enough like dessert.

A chalk like scent that has peach/coconut undertones giving it a hint of sweetness. It reminds me of the scent Breath Of The Infinite by The House of Oud. This is not something I would purchase a bottle of, but it is a pleasant scent. I would enjoy this on a female counterpart.
