Hierba Nera

“Love with you is a full moon at midnight.” How much does a full, round moon in the dark sky attract us? Hierba Nera is a dual fragrance: dark yet luminous at the same time. It features a green and herbaceous note, slightly bitter, brightened and softened by citrus nuances and soft woods that make it incredibly appealing. Personally, I can also feel the molecular aspect on my skin, which I can't deny attracts me a lot. Wearable in any occasion, seemingly more masculine, but very wearable by a woman with a strong character who wants something that leaves a mark. This smells exactly like cherry chapstick. It’s uncanny. I’m about to go buy a tube of it so i can compare the two but I used enough of it in my life to know this is that exact smell. I really enjoy it and if this was available for $40 or so I’d go for a bottle just for the novelty of it. But I’m not paying $175+ for cherry chapstick in perfume form. I could just slather my arms in the stuff for $2. Oh well :)

Smell of a soap. Nothing sophisticated or unique.

I am going through Coreterno's discovery set of 12 fragrances and have found at least four or five that I really love. Had high hopes for this but, weirdest thing, I am anosmic to it! I can smell it a little bit on a tester strip, but almost nothing once it's on my skin. What I can smell: it's soft and subtle, all woods, with a slight bit of powdery incense. I don't get any of the listed cannabis note, but I wouldn't be opposed to it! It reminds me of a nicer, smoother version of Room 1015's Electric Wood, but without the godawful Ambroxan that ruins everything for me. It also smells close to Pacifica's Montana Sky, which is on its way to being discontinued. Anyway, I wish I could smell this more. I'm digging Coreterno's aesthetic and find all of the scents to be really well-blended, even if not all of them are for me. My faves of the bunch are Psychedelicious, Catharsis, No Sleep and Hardkor. Need to wear-test Mystic Sugar a bit more to make a final call. Also, their bottles are really cool, and they send you fun stickers and body care samples with your order!

I love the opening–green citrus with good rasp of nutmeg, and a nice hit of pot funk–but in 15 minutes Hierba Nera (Black Grass) slides into smoky amber resins with lazy projection. The base notes of miscellaneous wood musks last half the day on the skin, with no residue on cotton. Leans to the oak-y end of unisex. If the top notes took center stage, I’d be all up in a bottle–the art-house basement party vibe is delightful–but the high doesn’t last long enough to warrant the cost.

Opens with resins & incense, giving me that orthodox church feeling. Then the sweet nutmeg comes in, making it a bit rounder and delicious. I don't detect any marijuana - and frankly, I don't mind. It's an intimate scent, keeping quite close to the skin - sweet, smokey, mysterious. Dry down is very woody, with an oud-y quality. Definite unisex. Mild and calming; unobtrusive scent. Doesn't remind me in the least of what was wafting around the theatre department in my college days of the 70's. I like it. Thanks to team Fragrantica for the samples!

It's a very subtle woody elemi fragrance, I quite like it. It's warm and balsamic without being heavy, it's spicy without going overly so. I feel it's a good all season fragrance, fairly unisex.

Incense, wood, leathery aroma chemicals 3 sprays, started as a soft skin scent that disappeared after 30 mins No way in hell I’d pay $170 msrp for something I could barely smell.
