Aroma

I couldn't have been more wrong about this one. I started wearing this after initially thinking it smelled too harsh, almost like a varnish. But when I revisited it, it calmed down for me and it’s a very competent, potent woody jungle juice that lasts all day. Palo Santo is the main distinct flavor I get, the way it smells when burning, and I strongly recommend to anyone who loves that scent. Overall it is a rich and pleasant balance of creamy wood against deep dark resins and oils. It could easily be a release from Norma Kamali’s fabled and now extinct fragrance line. 4 out of 5.

The hero ingredient is a novel oleoresin call “Breu” from the Amazon. No other scents feature this note, and it’s not in the notes above to vote on. It’s a very lovely scent and very unique. Quite strong so take it easy! From my understanding they do a combination of fermentation created ingredient & natural sourcing. Fermentation derived ingredients are still “natural” rather than made from petrochemicals

This is so gorgeous. Unique, clean, healthy scent. It’s the same fragrance as the Lua oil and I adore it. Suitable for any occasion but the most formal and completely unisex. To the person asking below, not at all similar to Ebene Fume, imo

I just received it as a gift for my birthday Saturday so my first experience with it was literally the same time as my family’s first experience with it after spraying while eating birthday cake ha ha. Coincidentally I also recieved & opened simultaneously with another new fragrance only this one wasn’t a birthday present. It is a promotional bottle from Influenster to test & review. The latter is Azzaro’s new Wanted Intense parfum. So the reactions from the Wanted was everyone liked it, but especially my young nieces ranging in age from 2 - 16. It is very safe, on trend, but cleaner & fresher than the 100 other Sauvage copies currently flooding department store fragrance counters. Above average, but nothing “new”. The Costa Brazil now was less loved by the younger relatives, but more embraced by the young- mid adults at the table. Especially myself, my older brother & sister in law who happen to live in NYC & are around some pretty fantastic fragrances every day. They both work in fashion my brother designs sneakers & my sister also a designer, & the creative director for Anne Klein. She is currently rebranding it for a younger audience which brings me to my point. They both smell fragrances from all over the world. They both loved Aroma Costa Brazil & felt that it doesn’t really smell like anything else. It is earthy, & fresh but rich, masculine at the same time. It is more foreign spa than tropical vacation. Not sweet, & not spicy but I can see how some may think there’s a touch of spice. Musky, & even a little powdery, but it’s less obvious. The closest scent I could relate it to are the Aveda products, & cologne wise it has a slight similarity to Tom Ford Oud Wood, but by no means is it a dupe. It has just the right amount of projection, & lasts long enough but not going to choke or offend most people. While not overly potent it does leave a slight reminder of it’s best notes on your clothing at the end of the day. Oh one last thing. We all were surprised to see it listed as unisex as it definitely leans masculine. After letting it dry down a bit my SIL did say she could see maybe a certain type of woman wearing it, but definitely not the younger set.

The eco natural sustainable luxury brand from Brazil has introduced their first perfume and it is quite nice if not exceptional. The natural chypre style perfume opens with fresh bursts of Brazilian orange, grapefruit, pink pepper and white flowers. The heart is incense, nutmeg and geranium. The perfume settles on a powdery bed of vetiver, patchouli, cedar, cypriol and plant based musks. The unisex slightly masculine scent has moderate to strong projection and good longevity. It does remind me of my extensive travels in Brazil, a country I absolutely love to bits. Evocative even if not hugely innovative. Enjoy!

Fresh woody spa scent, perfect in spring, especially in the wind it just becomes so beautiful. Radiates well and gets compliments. People stopped me to tell me I smell good. This rarely happens. Unisex. If you like woody but not sweet you will like it. You must like woodsy scents though.

On me, this is almost pure patchouli, with spicy overtones and the merest hint of citrus. Flashback to 1968 in the hippie spice shop in Seattle’s Public Market. Highly spiced orange teas and patchouli oil. not unpleasant but hopelessly dated. been there, done that.

UPDATE: I have to admit that this fragrance is growing on me. The more I think about it, the more I realize that this smells like the softer and milder sister of Aromatics Elixir by Clinique --- they have the same resin-like quality and sharpness, and then they fade down to a softer interpretation of woods and incense. The AE, of course, is much stronger while the Aroma scent is milder and more spa-like. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I just received the Aroma oil of this fragrance, and I'm not getting a whiff of ANY of the top notes listed above. Perhaps some myrrh and nutmeg. Then the scent fades even more. To me, this is a very very weak hippie-shop incense type of scent. It smells exactly like a head shop from the 1970s -- hazy incense, and some sweet body oils wafting around in a very narrow and small space that has racks of hip-hugger jeans, cool t-shirts, a few lava lamps, and tall jars holding big bunches of incense sticks. It would probably be a really good room scent rather than a personal scent. Maybe the spray version is stronger and better, but I'm not planning to order it at this point.

Costa Brazil's Aroma is primarily a woody and freshly, minty-aromatic scent. ...In fact, it smells remarkably similar to palo santo (Bursera graveolens). However, there doesn't seem to be any listed palo santo in its formula. However some report that Aroma apparently does contain a leading note of breu preta (black tar), an oleoresin, vaguely similar to Palo Santo, that is derived from various species of Amazonian Protium tree. Both Bursera and Protium trees are members of the Torchwood Family (Burseraceae). Breu preta has not yet been made available for listing on Fragrantica's note pyramids, which is ironic since it is seemingly the main driver of Aroma's scent profile, ...while most of the notes listed here are barely apparent at all, ...though cedar, and probably Firmenich's Clearwood, are also substantially contributing. Yet despite all of this overly elaborate backstory, when actually sampling Aroma, I still find it smells mostly like a simple, single note, palo santo fragrance

Same scent that’s in their gloriously smelling cult body oil—just a bit more woody notes added—which I’m fine with. It’s beautiful and uplifting. This is just so good and definitely unique. The jungle flora underneath the woods makes it addictive magic. A little spray or two goes a long way! This smells nothing like terre d’Hermes btw. I have both and a side by side comparison showcases how drastically different they are. The rollerball oil version isn’t nearly as good as the EDP. The notes don’t pop and it doesn’t smell the same. Honestly the body oil performs better than the rollerball of Aroma. Hope this sticks around a while. I can see how it would be polarizing.

@Florista Isn't the industrial production of synthetic materials, especially for perfumery, way more eco-friendly than their natural counterparts? It doesn't take the actual cultivation and/or destruction of fruits or precious woods, which grow for a long time and use immense amounts of water and fertilizer just to extract some molecules. Could the principle of not touching ecosystems for your product actually be very eco-friendly? However, if they market their materials as natural, it's surely wrong advertisement.

This is my kind of scent. It's naturalistic with strong piney and earthy notes. Aesop's Hwyl, a personal favourite, sits in a similar space. Aroma is greener though. Hwyl leans towards the smokiness of a coniferous fire. In both fragrances, the feelings evoked are those of freedom, an energizing reverence for nature and escape from the numbing oppression of urban existence. A life affirming fragrance, indeed

I would rather shove this up the buttocks of a hungry hippopotamus than the be in 10 kilometers of this ridiculous perfume. It smells like a fresh diarrhea of a person who only eats rotten eggs. Unfortunately If I ever disrespect the perfume of my most beloved person Chico Lachowski, I will be shotgunmaxxed by Mr. E. 6/10.

I see mecca stock this Anyone know if its similar to ebene fume?
