CoSTUME NATIONAL Cyber Garden is built around a fascinating creative concept: the intersection of nature and technology. Rather than trying to smell purely natural or overtly synthetic, Cyber Garden imagines a futuristic greenhouse where lush greenery grows alongside plastic, metal, and circuitry. It's a fragrance that asks what a garden might smell like in a cyberpunk future, and surprisingly, it manages to bring that idea to life without feeling gimmicky. The official note list is fairly complex, but on my skin I mainly pick up the broad green notes, the distinctive vinyl accord, and the crisp character of violet leaf. The vinyl note is what makes Cyber Garden stand out from countless other green fragrances. It adds a smooth synthetic edge that feels clean and modern rather than harsh. Combined with the fresh greenery, it creates a unique green-and-vinyl scent profile that I find incredibly enjoyable. Even if I can't distinguish every individual note, the overall composition is excellent and unlike anything else in my collection. Cyber Garden really shines during spring and summer. The fresh green character feels perfectly suited to warm weather, evoking freshly cut grass, leaves, and open air without becoming overly grassy or earthy. The synthetic vinyl accord keeps it feeling artistic and gives it enough personality to stand apart from the typical citrus-heavy warm-weather fragrances that dominate the season. Cyber Gardens longevity is respectable, I get about 8 - 9 hours on skin although it doesn't project much beyond four hours. I also feel fortunate to have picked up a bottle for around $50 USD last year. Since then, it has become increasingly difficult to find in North America without running into some truly outrageous markups. As more people discover its originality and availability continues to shrink, Cyber Garden seems to be developing something of a cult following. For me, it's one of the most unique fragrances I've owned, and I'm glad I added it to my collection before it became so hard to track down. Lastly, Cyber Garden is often compared to ELDO's Ghost in the Shell because both fragrances explore the relationship between humanity and technology, but they approach the idea from very different angles. Ghost in the Shell focuses on the human side of the equation, blending milky, skin-like, and aquatic notes with futuristic synthetic accords to create the impression of a cybernetic human being. Cyber Garden, on the other hand, feels more environmental in its vision, imagining a futuristic landscape where lush greenery coexists with the synthetic. Where Ghost in the Shell is smooth, clean, and almost intimate, Cyber Garden is greener, sharper, and more overtly artificial thanks to its distinctive vinyl accord. Both are creative interpretations of a technological future, but Cyber Garden feels like a garden enhanced by machines, while Ghost in the Shell feels like a machine learning to become human. - 9/10 - Spring, Summer. Low-fi chill plays right here out of the bottle; a little predictable but none-the-less loveable. The soundtrack that plays in my head when I wear Cyber Garden is 'Moments in Love' by Art of Noise, while my ryukin and oranda goldfish cruise happily in their lush aquarium and flow with the tranquil frequency of this easy-wearing scent. The Inspiration: The brand's flagship store is located in Tokyo at the Aoyama Complex which has a vertical installation of plants, known as the CNAC wall, created by botanist and artist Patrick Blanc and commissioned by Costume National. CN co-founder Ennio Capasa says the store is “a place of lifestyle and experience where aesthetic, art and nature find the perfect balance.” Partnering with Antoine Lie, perfumer for ELDO's Secretion Magnifiques, I was expecting something a little more ground-breaking, perhaps digitally enhanced. But Lie taps into the brand's attractiveness and wearability which presents with the same commercialism that he approaches Armani Code or Crystal Noir, while maintaining a modern yet Zen-like, static hum. I bought Cyber Garden as a blind buy for myself as I love the brand Costume National, and wanted something aromatic and avant garde. Aromatic, yes. Avante garde, not really. But it's clean, minimalist yet not linear, leans slightly masculine in a boy-next-door kind of way. I can see both myself and my teen son reaching for this often. He loves YSL La Nuit de l'Homme, Balenciaga L'Essence (F), Lanvin Oxygene (F), Costume National Scent Intense (U), and Gucci PH II. It reminds me of AdP Mirto di Panarea somewhat too, and moreso Prada Amber PH. Kind of a clean, bubble bath vibe, relaxed, happy, serene. The grapefruit feels like a soft pink to me, not bitter yellow, and is enhanced by the delicate sweet floralcy of geranium; the pepper is subtle yet wakeful; violet leaves give some dark green substance but with a tender hand — a little ozonic, a little aquatic. Saffron adds a little bit of a leather feel, ever so slightly phenolic and contrasts with the vinyl note. I don't get glossy, spanky vinyl, but a matte latex, much like the feel of the box that the fragrance arrives in, or a magazine cover finished in a suede lamination. The base is diffused with a gentle, warm breath of resin, wood, and luminous amber, creating a grounding accord for the cool top notes. I really love the subtle textures in this scent. There is an airy, almost soapy aldehyde muskiness to Cyber Garden too which lingers into the next day. I could smell this on myself the next morning after spraying on in the early evening, leaving a cuddly, slept-in vibe. Cyber Garden: low pile plush velvet, or a super soft bed of young moss that you want to take a nap in and slip into a deliciously sweet daydream.

If you’re looking for a scent that replicates the idea of The Matrix (1999), look no further, as Cyber Garden by Costume National reminds me of the digital rain of Japanese code seen from the dystopian real-world. To me, this scent is green, fuzzy and pixelated, in the best way possible, as it was intended. It captures an image of an office plant with vibrant green leaves that you reach to feel, only to see your hand phase through the pixels of the hologram when contact is made, and the immersion of a “natural” aroma or feel is broken, yet this is what only amplifies the simultaneous immersion of a digital simulation of nature. This makes Cyber Garden so interesting and multi-faceted. I don’t agree that this is challenging to wear at all, as I immediately liked it upon first smell, the grapefruit is so juicy and the green leafiness is sweet and fresh, like you just cut the stem of a leaf in half, paired with a wet grass note which adds to the perplexity of Cyber Garden - as how can something register as hyper-realistic, natural, and digital at the same time? The artificial fuzziness of the vinyl gives an astroturf vibe to me, or like a tennis ball etc. However the vinyl note is very subtle to me and complements the green notes, rather than clashing with them, and does not register to me as plasticky or poorly blended. It almost gives the sweet green notes a creaminess that mixes with the woods in the dry-down. Smells slightly similar to ghost in the shell but only due to the intentional synthetic notes, and I wouldn’t say at all that it is redundant to own both, as I do. Performance is pretty weak though, same with longevity, so that’s the only con I have with this fragrance. TL;DR: Picture a jungle or grassland level in a PS2 game, and that is the smell of CYBER GARDEN. Song that matches the scent: Hydrophonics by ilydima

I've been searching for a bottle of this, and I thought I'd never find one. Irrational obsession. It became like a relic of a bygone era to me. And as soon as I gave up and accepted that the best I would ever find was a sample, and went to buy one, there it was. So naturally I had to buy the bottle blind. I would never recommend this, but I don't regret it. It's been a unique experience, hunting a cologne that was recently not hard to find. It's like a generic men's deodorant, as others have said. But there's something completely distinctive about it. It's hard to identify, I'm not sure if the scent was naturally weak or if it's because the bottle has gotten old. But it lives up to the name. Sporty, fresh, grassy and green, and a little bit synthetic, like playing with a big beach ball on a patch of astroturf in an exotic greenhouse. Virtual flowers growing out of a microchip at the dawn of the internet, well suited to the ubiquitous CGI desert music video of the time. Layers well with some additional vetiver. The violet is identifiable enough to come across almost powdery, but it's very slight and I don't mind it. There's something about the generic-but-distinct quality of it that's pinging some really deep memories for me, like sneaking a glance at racy cologne advertisements in the library, or realizing I had a crush on my best friend's older brother. I'm sure there are many approximate imitations of this still easily available, and if you squint and pick the greenest thing in any men's fragrance section you'll probably find a close match. But no copies. Nothing can replace it, to me.

Before I buy this fragrance by reading its name it reminds me of dead electronic kits with fresh green notes But it was not. starts very green and Grapefruit which is very pleasant and slowly the Grapefruit fades away and the same green fresh watery note takes its place.and unlike all votes, it’s not Vynil Dominant and very modern and young. In the end, the Vynil note became stronger but not as much as the green note. This Creative fragrance with this name could easily be one of the imaginary authors fragrances. The longevity and sillage are very good for a summer and spring fragrance but not worthy of the retail price. Don't pass it if you find it below retail price. _____________________________________________ قبل از اینکه این عطر رو بخرم با خوندن اسمش فکر میکردم باید بوی قطعات الکترونیکی سوخته بده که خیلی سبز و ابکی و تازه باشه. اما اصلا اینطور نبود . شروع خیلی سبز و گریپ فروتی داره که خیلی خوشایند هست .به آرامی گریپ فروت محو میشه و همون رایحه سبز و تازه به کار غالب میشه که برخلاف تصور همه آنچنان بوی وینیل نمیده و اصلا قدیمی یا تاریخ گذشته نیست بلکه خیلی خیلی هم مدرن و جون هست . درآخرین ساعتی که عطر روی پوست میمونه بوی وینیلش بیشتر میشه ولی باز هم رایحه سبز از بین نمیره این عطر با خلاقیت در اسم و رایحه براحتی میتونست یکی از عطر های برند Imaginary Authors باشه پخش و ماندگاری بسیار خوبی برای یک عطر بهاری و تابستانی داره اما به قیمتش نمیارزه ولی اگر ارزون تر از قیمت اصلیش پیداش کردید از دستش ندید . Firstly, so unique and beautiful. Opens a little zesty and fresh green. Then the magic happens... Mint, freshly cut lawn and opening a box of latex gloves. The plastic/vinyl/latex note isn't specifically reminiscent of anything negative of the sort. Just enough to gently underpin the green notes which go from lawn to more of a woody fern/moss/vetiver as it dries down. Overall you end up with a fresh, clean blend that is familiar in it's barbershop soap qualities but has it's own unique twist which sets it apart from what your brain is expecting from such a scent. There is a pleasant floral aspect to it also, brightening up the whole experience. As it keeps blending with my skin, the (still masculine) florals remind me of Vera Wang for men if it were worn while opening a tube of tennis balls. I really like this and I can see wearing this from spring to autumn and maybe ever getting away with it in winter. Familiar enough not to offend and unique enough to want to go back for more.

This was the first time ever that I bought a fragrance blindly, and the only reason for this is because its sister, Costume National Homme, has become my all-time-favourite. I have to say that I am not disappointed. This is as complex as Costume National Homme, yet the appearance is totally different. Whereas Costume National Homme has an almost classic and sentimental feel to it, this one is straightforwardly modern. Costume National Homme has the elegance of an old mansion, this one has the cool charm of a circuit board. And really, it does smell a bit like that. Conclusion: This one's for the modern daring. ****

Nothing to do with Ghost in the Shell....at all. Concept only. Ghost in the Shell is way more floral and feminine smelling than Cyber Garden. Cyber Garden is a masculine scent at best and unisex at worst. Very unique take on freshness, the vinyl accord is quite interesting, the dry down is almost musky. Altogether soothing, clean, and green. Airy and dense at the same time. Very well blended. Evokes a concurrent sense of abstraction, contemplation, and longing. Creatively futuristic. Not sure if you all know of the Scottish electronica band "Boards of Canada". But if Boards of Canada had a scent, this would be it.

I like it. I bought a whole bottle. At first was turned off of it. Didn’t float my boat originally. Then I felt it was so different than what I had in my collection. Wore it and it really grew on me! Wow, now really like it. Isn’t that green but more of a green light. This EDT is more of an EDP. Probably keep it next to Synthetic Jungle when I want to hunt some replicants in a dystopian cityscape. Gets you in the mood to defeat the AI Evermind of boredom of similar fragrances!

I got this since I liked L'eau d'Issey and Etat Libre d'Orange's Ghost in the Shell. I like that it is both fresh and spicy. It's a unique take on a fresh scent and I really enjoy it. I like the slight synthetic vinyl scent. It's not that apparent when you first spray it, but it does show up as you go about your day. I wish it lasted longer than a few hours on the skin. Other than the weaker longevity, I love this.

Very green, very clean, and very geranium heavy for me. I love it. It smells as if you described the smell of a forest to a person for them to interpret second hand, I mean this in a good way. It’s a forest with out the dirt or grunge, like it were grown abiotically. It’s a fitting name! And a damn shame it’s discontinued!

This should have been called - "Futuristic Plastic Garden". Amazing composition. I love the concept and execution and the art of crafting this. However, I wouldn't buy or wear this. Moreover it doesn't project much and it is gone in 6 hours. I gave this a like, for the lack of wearability.

Today I tasted it and mannn what a nice green citrusy smell.I fell in love with it .I love the green herbal notes wich vinyl is exit in background.then it turns to aquatic green vibe.Its amazing and will buy it. One of the best green scents.9/10

Big compliments to CN for releasing such a daring scent. Very green and synthetic, but very likeable also. Fits the name perfectly, futuristic unrealistic green. No idea when to wear this, but you stand out for sure. Beautiful bottle also.

Smells like walking through a garden in virtual reality. A garden made by artificial intelligence years in the future. Absolutely beautiful composition. I have no clue when I would wear this? But I love it so much.

I’m very picky with what scents i actually love & am able to wear recurringly but this has been my fave daily scent for over a year. Very fresh and green, smells like a fresh cut lawn in april, love it.

One of the best green scents on earth, very clean and very well blended. A must have emerald gem, i highly recommend it. don't let the reviews fool you, this will last 12+h and projects perfectly.

Tried a sample of this and loved it! You can smell the vinyl yet it's so wearable. Generic but there's juuust enough edge to stand out. The price isn't bad too. I need a full bottle NOW

Something so delicious and addictive about this. Vaguely reminds me of a classroom/pencil shavings but in a good way. Can see this quickly becoming a signature scent.

Another review. Noticed my perception is more greener than I perceived. Green and vinyl I would call Cyber Garden. Nice. Bought a full bottle from Europe.
