Aspen

I loved this perfume. I was 16 and felt so very grown up when I started wearing it. It was a gift from my first high school boyfriend and though he was terrible, he did introduce me to Aspen and I thank him for that. To me, it smelled like a beautiful, clear cold winters day. So fresh and almost sharp in its initial blast. It was my "confidence in a bottle." I went through 2 bottles by the time I graduated and then moved on to other scents. I spent my 20's dousing myself in Seaspray and Cucumber Melon from B&BW. (Didn't we all???) About 7 years ago. I really began building my perfume collection and when I tried to find this one....it was gone. But I got a glimpse of her today! I blind bought Guess 1981 and it's flanker Indigo. While the original smells nice, a fresh floral, which I love. It is the other I am obsessing over. It is all cedar and vetiver with some spicy fig and that cedar just sings to my soul. To my nose this is just like Aspen, but with a zesty fig twist. The sillage is meh, but the scent last hours on the skin, and into the next day on clothes or my coat. Honestly! I just loved Aspen, it was fresh and clean though I don't recall much floral in it. And now I've been searching for it, mostly because it brings to mind fun, sad, scary and amazing memories of my youth. A time when the beautiful fresh cedar scent of Aspen gave me confidence to face big changes and make big decisions at a time when I wasn't feeling sure or strong at all. That exact scent may be lost, but I can get hints/peeks of her still today, which to me is priceless. I urge you to try 1981 Indigo just to see if it captures a small bit of what you were/are looking for in Aspen. I wasn't expecting it to be this good or smell so reminiscent of Aspen. And for the price, I plan to buy a few more bottles to stock up....just in case it disappears too.

I think the information here is faulty, because I KNOW that I wore this in the winter of 1990-91, after I graduated college. I loved it and wore it for a couple of years, until my small bottle turned and began to smell wrong. I wish we could discover the official notes. I am fairly sure that it had some Calone up top, and it smelled fresh like cold wind, but there was also a distinct pine/balsam note involved. Probably some amber and woods plus florals, but I can't tease out which florals are there. I miss it. Sadly, every bottle I've encountered has decayed topnotes, and perhaps that's why Coty discontinued it so soon after its release. Coty is often unhelpful in not disclosing information about its discontinued scents.

I’m obsessed to having this perfume again. I loved this in my mid teens... I have lots of perfumes through the years but would always comes back to searching for this until I couldn’t find anymore... Maybe coz it’s so nostalgic that I want to have one with me forever. still trying to find one thats not spoilt and affordable... It smells elegance and so girly. Nice in cold season and night outs or dine outs.

I used to wear this in high school, around 1995. I don't even remember exactly what it smelled like, other than it had a very woodsy, cedar scent that I adored, and I felt so very edgy waltzing around in it while the other girls were wearing super sweet fragrances. I forgot this even existed, but saw Aspen for Men on Overstock today and it swept me back to my days of flannel shirts with ribboned pony tails.

One of the most delicious drugstore scents that Coty ever made. Fresh, green, clean, and cool. Aspen for Men is a very similar fragrance- so much so that I almost thought they'd just slapped "for men" on the label after reviews suggested it wasn't feminine enough. It's not particularly masculine or feminine, really. To me, it just smells delightfully green and clean.

I wore this back in the early 90s and I absolutely adored it. I have not smelled it in ages as I no longer have the bottle anymore. I wish I had saved it. What I wouldn’t give to smell this again for the memories.

I used to wear this and I absolutely loved it. I haven't seen it mentioned, but to me it smelled almost like cedar and very woodsy. I wish it wasn't discontinued.

Another one that I would spritz the tester as a poor college student but unfortunately it was discontinued like many Coty fragrances almost as soon as it was released. It's possible to get discontinued fragrances on eBay so I may check them out for a bottle.

This was very green (but not a sharp herbal or fresh grassy green), and just a touch marine, for an "Oriental Floral." I think this came out before 1995; I recall wearing this often in the early 1990's.

This was a wonderful Winter/Fall fragrance. Almost masculine because of the pine and wood notes. However, it dried down to a beautifully feminine scent. Brings back memories.

For a while as a teenager, I loved this. It was astringent and spicy and clean all at the same time. I don't remember it being especially sweet. My taste turned to warmer, richer floral amber scents, and I forgot all about this one. That's not a reflection on it, though. Young people have to figure out what their scent profile is just as they need to figure out their style.

This doesn't smell outdoorsy to me at all unless you are thinking this is the other coty aspen with the leaf on it (for men), so I don't understand the name of the women's version. The scent is heavenly, though you do have to give it a moment. I think its almost exactly like Sand & Sable, but its not as crisp, I'd say softer, perhaps powdery or slightly sweet. That's the best way I can describe it. I know if you are like me you are dying to know and I think I nailed it. But would love to hear what others think it smells like.

God I miss this perfume! I wore this in the early 90's when I was a little teenie bopper. It always had a calming, comforting quality to it for me. Smelled like being in shaded, wooded land of tranquility. Does anyone out there use Revlon's Colorsilk Hair Dye by any chance? I can smell Aspen in the complimentary conditioner packet-no joke! At least I can enjoy the memories when I do my monthy root touch-ups!

An old high school girlfriend wore, no, ROCKED Aspen in the 90's, so I had to buy it, wanting to be as cool as her. Wood notes don't wear well on me, so she ended up with an extra bottle soon after. Nest Citrine put me in mind of this, so those of you who miss Aspen might give Citrine a sniff, they both have that sweet floral+ cedar vibe going on..

It got stuck in my memory forever. Tested it only once, never owned and will NEVER forget the experience. It was like being in the middle of a forest of linden trees in full bloom in Europe. So sad it can't be found anymore☹️ well, it can, but those prices!!!

These are the notes I found online. I can't confirm if they are accurate or not though. Top Notes: Citrus, Green notes, and a hint of ocean air Middle Notes: Jasmine, Rose, Lily, and a touch of citrus Base Notes: Musk, Sandalwood, Oakmoss

Wow... I know this smells similar Davidoff Run Wild for Her. Aspen has the same "your-skin-but-better" smell with a tinge of animalic musk and something very honey-floral. I won a .5oz on eBay... glad it wasn't "off" or gone bad.

I took one sniff of Marc Jacobs Mod Noir from a Sephora sampler and was immediately transported to the 90's and Aspen!! Anyone else notice a similarity? If you're missing this fragrance you might want to check it out.

Aspen smells nice aquatic but sadly I can't really distinguished the notes on this scent; my recommendation is that you can get away with a similar aficionado scent with this one, no one will know the difference

Loved this classic. Light airy floral, bright citrus , mossy dry down. This is a very clean scent. I do agree with other reviewer , it does smell like Nest Citrine and MJ Mod Noir.
