Ex'cla-ma'tion

I bought this at a Walgreens store. They keep the perfumes and colognes behind glass that can only be opened by a key from one of the staff and you have to push a button and a voice will be heard over the loudspeaker "assistance needed in fragrance'. I love my Walgreens! I love the white bottle with the black top in the shape of an exclamation point. This retro 1988 perfume I had always heard about but never got around to trying it. It was a blind buy but very good blind buy. Opens with what smells like a very feminine 'beauty salon' scent. It is charmingly retro. Smells like the kind of hair salon I used to go to in my little 'ghetto' hometown community. There is an instant sweet smell that says girly-girl but also woman in her twenties; doing her hair, nails, applying make up. It is not exactly a make up scent. It has more of that kind of absolutely beautiful hair spray kind of scent. Totally hair spray but of high quality. The peach and apricot are immediately identifiable. The peach is sweet but subtle, not too syrupy. The rich head filling sweetness seems to come from the moment the peach merges with the floral notes. The floral note that most pops out is heliotrope. There is a small white flower trace of possibly lily of the valley and a little jasmine. But it is mostly heliotrope and also unlisted geranium and very soft Bulgarian rose. Spicy but not too spicy notes of cinnamon emerge as the dry down begins. By the time it is very dry the musk is obvious and it is a clean musk. The musk is the only base note I am picking up on. The whole thing is soft, and not in your face explosive. There is a similarity to Lagerfeld Sun Moon Stars and of course as so many have pointed out to Lancome Tresor. But to me this perfume goes off on it's own path. It has the fruity floral musk airs of both scents, and closer to Tresor but it has a grown up vibe; not very mature, but a woman who is getting herself made up and pretty for a special date, or just enjoying her femininity and spraying herself with this to go with her make up and pretty dress as she goes out with her girlfriends for lunch, or to any event. It is a multi purpose perfume. Dates, dinner, girlfriend time, school (and a lot of girls according to the reviewers on here did used to wear this to school) so it comes off as casual and any season any place anywhere kind of perfume. I peg it as being a spring and summer scent. This smells so good, so delicious. It is not a complex or statement making artsy fragrance. It is just a way to enhance your beauty besides clothes and make up. It is a fragrance accessory. Seems to be best on teen girls and women in their 20s but would appeal to anyone who likes Sophia Grojsman vintage perfumes (and this one totally has her signature on it as a nose). It has no age no gender just wear it if you like fruity floral musks and want to appear more attractive through your scent. I am so glad I finally got a hold of it.

Back in 1988, myself and my three bffs used to hang out with a group of punks. One of my friends was dating one of them and we all just kind of started hanging out. It was a carefree time of my life, too young to work, too old for toys. My parents gifted me a bottle of this for my birthday and, as was our tradition at the time, when one of us got a perfume we all wore that perfume so I shared it with my friends. We all wore Exclamation throughout this 1988 pre-grunge summer of punk and it was such a fun time. I remember sitting on the pavement one evening beside one of the lads who was pushing six inch nails through the eyelets of his Doc Marten boots. When I asked ‘why are you doing that?’ Because I was wondering how on Earth he was going to walk (!) he simply replied ‘For decoration’. He tragically died soon afterwards at the tender age of 17 from inhaling an aerosol and we all kind of stopped hanging out after that. Exclamation will always remind me of those wild and carefree nights with a group of guys who looked rough but couldn’t have been more decent. There was no pressure to be anything other than yourself and that’s how I still feel when I wear this perfume. The modern formulation is not the powerhouse it once was, so I’m glad I still have a 90s bottle. A beautiful peachy creation from Sophia Grojsman. It’s a shame younger noses don’t have the patience or the inclination to love and understand it. Does the world need more punks? I think so!

"THISSSSS!!! This... I bought a bottle of this for my mom (Christmas 2024), as this was one of her absolute favorite scents during my childhood, and both of us remember and love it fondly. I remember going into her room and stealing sprays of it, until she eventually bought me a body spray version for myself. It was my first "real" fragrance. Upon giving it to her, she said it didn't smell the same, and I agreed. I work in the fragrance world, and I told her it could very well have been reformulated since the '90s because a lot of fragrances with Lily of the Valley have undergone reformulations because of new regulations etc... She ended up giving it back to me a few months later as a re-gift situation. I'm a fragrance collector of sorts, so this wasn't out of the ordinary. Long story short... Lately, I've been going through my collection, wearing long-lost loves, and things I haven't touched for a while. Coming back to this gem nearly 2 years later — as it's had time to macerate and truly settle into itself — was something I wasn't fully prepared for. It had become what I remembered it to be. I feel such comfort in this scent. I can't wait to wear this (most likely dose myself in it, so there's no way she won't notice) next time I see my mom.

this was a blind buy with no prior knowledge about it from me. a stranger asked me one day if i was wearing it (i was wearing the og viva la juicy + a fruity body wash and lotion) so of course i had to look into it and bought it as soon as i saw the price. i'm truthfully not at all a big fan of peach or powdery scents, but somehow this is done perfectly and i adore it. i recognized it as soon as i sprayed it despite never knowing the bottle or name. when i was little, this was one of the perfumes i'd occasionally smell on young women and i always thought it was so pretty and grown up, i wanted to be just like them. funnily enough when i wear it, it reminds me a lot of my childhood, the sweet, fluffy innocence of girlhood, playing until the streetlights came on, the haze of midsummer's dusk, wading through tall grass in the flower fields where crickets chirp loudly, and the soft cocoon of being freshly bathed and wearing clean clothes while playing outside. it's one of the first fragrances to evoke such a visceral image for me. i love it. i feel so comfortable, happy, and cozy wearing it. it's a warm, summery, peachy, baby powder scent essentially. girlhood in a bottle. <3

I'm casually living my life, thinking I know a thing or two about perfumes. Then bam! Exclamation! Excuse me, what now? This little bottle is a time-traveling vanilla-powdered cloud of retro fabulousness. And somehow, I never knew it existed. Released in 1988, Exclamation! quietly entered the scene with a whisper of grace, not a shout. It predates Trésor by two years, and surprise, surprise - both are the brainchildren of Sophia Grojsman; Exclamation! walked so Trésor could sashay as you can definitely sense a shared DNA, but Coty’s take is a little sweeter, a little fluffier, like Trésor’s introverted, dreamy sister who spends her evenings reading poetry by candlelight. The first spritz is a gentle kiss of peach and apricot, like soft sunlight through sheer curtains. Then come the florals - rose, jasmine, lily-of-the-valley - lush but never loud. It’s feminine in a timeless way, not performative, not cloying. And then the drydown: A powdery, warm vanilla-musk cloud. It’s soft, it’s romantic, and it wears close - like a secret. It doesn’t scream for attention; it rewards those who lean in. Phew! Better late than never, and definitely worth the wait. ❤️

Soft Peach Heather... This 1988 Vintage Floral by Sophia Grojsman, of PEACH-HELIOTROPE-VANILLA with Apricot & Musk has a mood & tone that match the film Heathers (1988), which came out the same year. All the popular (and sometimes mean) girls wore this when I was in Junior High. I could imagine Winona Ryder or Shannen Doherty and all the Heathers wearing this on set, This definitely has the "Hug-Me" accord made famous by Sophia Grojsman, and which features in many of her other compositions (Trésor Lancôme, Volupté Oscar de la Renta). Opens with a burst of powdery peach accented by citrus-green notes. As it transitions to the heart, heliotrope and orris-root emerge. Heliotrope here leans to its baby-powdery-vanilla & faint cherry nuances, while orris-root brings powdery, softness with faint leather hints. A faint dusting of cinnamon is evident in the vanilla-musk drydown. This has average performance that improves with dark storage after first sprays, to slightly above average for year round wear. Given the powdery-peach-vanilla profile, I would be most likely to wear this in the spring or fall. It's a longtime love for me. Enjoy!

I don't understand why this isn't still popular! I completely disregarded this perfume when I was younger (around High School age), because I saw older women wearing it, so I figured it wasn't for me. I completely forgot about it for years upon years, and now in my 40s, I'm on a nostalgia kick.. I bought a tiny little bottle. Holy cow, I am in love! Granted, it isn't the most groundbreaking fragrance. It isn't the most attention getting fragrance. But there's something about it that just makes me feel clean, pretty and feminine. And it lasts quite a while! It doesn't have a slap-you-in-the-face projection, but it does last all day on clothing. I sprayed it on myself in the morning and I could still smell it on the clothes I wore by the time I got home from work. I spritzed a little bit more on myself after I got out of the shower before bed, and the shirt that I wore still smelled of it in the morning. I feel like this is a completely slept on fragrance (I'm talking to myself here) and I fully anticipate buying the biggest size available! Also, for the price point, are you kidding me? This needs to be in everyone's collection!

Look's like I've also gotten on the nostalgia train this summer! I've been on the hunt to revisit the perfumes of my teen years too! You'd struggle to find a more 90's teen scent than Ex'cla-ma'tion! So, how is this newer version?: Right off the cuff, it's weaker, much weaker. The 90's concentration took two sprays and you were good for 6 hours. Now it takes 5-6. Initial scent impression for the first hour: a peachy, peary, fruity scent with a slight powder. Hours 2-4: a very nice, light powdery white musk dry down. It remains noticeable but not imposing or cloying. I got a few compliments while I was out. Hours 4-6: Only the mild musk remained by hour 5. By hour 6 I reapplied with three sprays. The white florals stand out upon the reapplication. Hour 12+: Upon the third reapplication an hour before bed the florals and musk joined again. A soothing scent for bedtime, though it really works best for day. Overall: a very nice, "inoffensive" fragrance with a very good price point. You really can't go wrong with giving this one a shot. It definitely earned its place in all of our highschools!

The very first sniff of Exclamation! hits me with soft vanilla and a gentle powder, like the moment after a hug settles. It immediately puts me in the same family as Lancôme Trésor, but specifically the instant dry-down, that warm, intimate stage Trésor eases into. Now, does Exclamation! climb to that deep, emotional climax Trésor is known for? Not quite. But that tracks, considering Sophia Grojsman created both. This one feels like her youthful, slightly energetic take on that signature DNA. There’s a closeness to this fragrance — sweet, creamy, clean, and quietly floral. It has that little spark of youthfulness woven through the softness, like a playful wink inside a cozy moment. The creaminess stands out to me too...if it’s a creamy scent, I’m already halfway in love. All in all, Exclamation! is still a total yes for me. It’s soft, it’s pretty, it’s timeless in its own way , and honestly, it could absolutely still be a hit today. One spritz and you’re making a statement without even trying.

What a gem. Blind bought Ex'cla-ma'tion for ridiculously low price when I saw the bottle and remembered that I used to play with it as a kid (when it was long empty though so I didn't remember the scent). Spraying it for the first time without much faith thinking it was yet another synthetic, vanilla perfume, I was gobsmacked. It literally made me smile. Such a nostalgic, comforting scent that makes me miss moments I haven't even experienced myself. Powdery, milky smooth vanilla with well blended peach and jasmine, not too heavy or too sweet. It's just like freshly washed white cotton sheets drying in the sun. Beautiful. I'm not that interested in new designer releases (or new releases in general with the market being so saturated) so (re)discovering older perfumes is slowly becoming my favourite thing. Maybe I'm just subconsciously yearning for times long gone, who knows, but this perfume does make me a bit more happy in these unhappy times.

A beautiful fragrance thats powdery and sweet as ever, it REALLY has the texture of slightly warm clean velvety softness like a pillow or a comfortable bath robe. Beautiful baby powder! Really feels like an after shower type of smell, although I cannot say I detect any peach or apricot like the others do... but I feel like that's the fault of my nose! I would say that there's something really interesting going on with the heliotrope, but I can't really put my finger on it. I believe its what some commentors have explained as an almond-y or marzipan-like smell, but it's a bit harder for me to say. Either way it's gorgeous! Oh, just something to note: the bottle I bought was made in the U.S and had the "back" information printed on the front, but it is very easy to scratch that off with something that has an edge. Think scissors, knife or maybe a coin. So, if it bothers you, you could easily fix it like I did!

I didn't know what to expect from this. And I found in this what I expected Le Bain to be in terms of "calming fragrance for home leisure time" some time ago. Unfortunately Le Bain turned out to be tooooooo sweeeeeeeeeet on my skin. To a point when I even gave up giving it another chance. So, back to Exclamation - I really love it. It is soft, it is casual, it is warm and yes, it has a calming effect without making me feel sleepy or boring. I don't mind the exclamation mark cap looking quite cheesy - being plastic and all. This fragrance is definitely not pricey. I even appreciate the honesty. But! I thought it's only my bottle, but I can see it on the pictures posted here as well - the line from the exclamation mark cap is actually not deep enough - it doesn't cover all the letters printed in black on the white bottle and I though - how could they?? What a bummer! Exclamation!

Now see, this is PRECISELY WHY I like to give older perfumes a shot!!! I got this at an absolutely insane price (£3.50, the price of a meal deal for goodness' sake!) so even if I disliked it I wouldn't care, but this screams clean girl aesthetic to me??!!?! Glossier could put this in a tube and make a goddamn killing on it. That aside: this is creamy, floral, warm, but close to the skin. I'm primarily picking up on the iris, heliotrope, lily, cinnamon, vanilla, and a subtle sugary sweetness. This isn't fruity at all on me but I still like it. Initial spray brought to mind parma violets (candy violets) and nivea body lotion, but like, in a nice way. This smells like a luxury soap or body lotion you'd get at a swanky hotel. This is definitely a hidden gem! Though perhaps not for long as I'll be singing its praises to anyone who'll listen...

How did I miss this when it first came out? Maybe because someone said it smelled like Tresor, which was the signature scent of a co-worker I hated. So, recently friends and I have started going to cheapies, just to see who can find the best scent. Kind of a game, the opposite of who has the most expensive, etc. Grabbed this off the bottom shelf at a Walmart, pretty sure I was going to hate it. Love at first spritz! While I can see similarities to Tresor, this doesn't come off as sharp to my nose. The peach isn't as overripe smelling. Gentle powdery peachy goodness, indeed. I have been wearing this every day for months. And yes, I lost the game, so to speak. I wouldn't tell them what it was. Its my scent now and don't want them copying, LOL. (One friend started wearing Jovan Musk after I wore it a few times). This one is mine, MINE!

Review for a new bottle. I was initially drawn to the fun packaging because it looks like if Depeche Mode designed a perfume bottle and I was drawn to the scent notes. As I sprayed it into the cap It had a beautiful juicy peach apricot note that is reminiscent of kracie peach shampoo or fruity herbal essence shampoo like the long term scent in the red bottle with raspberries-though there isn’t any raspberries but I got a bit in the opening, then a Japanese foaming face wash called Naive by kracie, j&j classic pink baby powder, and a beautiful soft very natural smelling vanilla almond marzipan goodness to wrap it up. The spice is very soft and blends with the other scents I detected. A fun clean scent If you enjoy vanilla, powdery, fruity, shampoo like combination fragrances. 5 out of 5

Ohhh WOW!!! (Ex'cla-ma'tion...!!!). This is an absolutely stunning fragrance. Wow. Just wow. It’s a white floral mix, delicate (in a masculine way) yet powerful; dries down to a dusty, clean spice, with the florals still singing through. I really didn’t expect much from this fragrance, based on the other reviews (this scent is sooo NOT grandma, ignore any review that claims ‘powdery old lady’...they’re taking out of their Ex’cla-ma’tion!) and, as I often do, brought nose blind; only a little 15ml bottle. My mistake. I’ll be ordering the full 100ml shortly (it’s sooo cheap too!) because I’m going to be making so many statements (without saying a word...Ex’cla-ma’tion) with this as my new signature scent. Can you give higher praise than that??? Ex’cla-ma’tion!

Awwww She’s That Girl I owned her back in the day but never appreciated her as much as I do now. Maybe it’s the new formulation or my personal nose journey. It’s almost like she’s travelled around the world for 30 yrs and has returned home and is become even more super relevant, stylish l, confident in her femininity and interesting It doesn’t feel dated actually alomost like a new line of scent. One thing the new bottle is odd tho ..has any one else noticed? the dot of exclamation mark on the bottle is now being printed on the same side as the make, mark and ingredients side so you can see all the writing on the front of the bottle the other side is completely white and blank, I don’t remember it being like this is this correct?

So I'm sitting here in the tub taking a bubble bath and I kept smelling this beautiful powdery scent 🌺and I just could not put my finger on where it was coming from. . All of a sudden it dawned on me that the shampoo that I just bought smells exactly like this perfume exclamation. It's by Garnier its the Whole Blends intensely restoring shampoo Maple remedy with castor oil and maple extract. It smells so good it smells just like this perfume. It brought me back to the 90s. Sweet powdery goodness. I need to go buy the conditioner tomorrow. Each less than 5 dollars at Family Dollar. If you like this scent go get the shampoo I mentioned it is fabulous. ps. this scent does smell like Tresor but Exclamation came out first.

Smells very familiar. It smells like Perry Ellis 360 and VS Love had a baby. Perry Ellis for the powdery melon scent but VS Love that gives more musk VS Love also for the love of apricots. I say a combo of these 2 fragrances yet not exact. Perry Ellis has more of an ozonic scent. On me Exlamation sn’t screeching but it is powdery and apricots with gentle musk. It’s different. I wouldn’t mind layering more vanilla but I’ll experiment with this one if it becomes too basic. Also I agree the drydown is worth the wait. Note: one spray is plenty. Walmart has it for $3 for Christmas stocking stuffers .37 oz. I bought 2. Small enough to go in my purse and if I get tired of it then I didn’t take a huge risk at a low price.

I am a gen Zer so I lack any time sensitive cultural preconceived ideas of how "oldschool" this scent might be. With no context or bias formed in my head I smelled this perfume and I loved it. Genuinely an adorable, powdery creamy scent. On the skin it smells exactly like a peach fruity cream lotion, it smells like lotion with fragrance! I don't really know why this scent is so divisive, I had owned this perfume before this but I did see a perfume tiktoker no longer being able to recommend this perfume as it is outdated. This stirred some curiosity and I decided to smell it again, just as juicy and milky as I remember it to be. Affordable, girly, I'd shower myself with this perfume, its right up my alley.

Even though this is just powdery violets with a huge rose in the middle, I always get the 'shock of the new' every time I put this fragrance on. For me it is like a boldly innovate niche perfume from a super expensive little atalier..except it isn't, it's Coty and available for buttons. It's an exciting, exuberant and youthful fragrance but very left-field despite its commonly stumbled upon ingredients. The Biba-esque Op-Art packaging is so perfect for the fragrance within. It's what great fragrances should always aspire to do, become more than the sum of its parts. I think it is a modern masterpiece. Or like the advert says 'make a statement, without saying a word!'

Yum! Got this for 7.99 at TJ Maxx. At first sniff I was worried it smelt too similar to True Love by Elizabeth Arden - something I already own. While the two scents are quite similar - this has a more warm, yummy feel to it - I think it's the combination of fruit, amber, sandalwood, and vanilla that subtly underlies the powdery goodness. True Love has more of a makeup compact powder to it. I prefer Exclamation. It's a perfect powdery scent to me - light enough for work, and yummy but not sweet or gourmand. I love Sophia Grojsman's scents.

So soapy! I mostly get the lily-of-the-valley and vanilla. It smells like Johnson & Johnson baby body wash. Very comforting. Lasts forever and has great sillage. I don't know how old mine is, because when I smelled a sample at my local Fragrance Outlet, it was screechy and peach-forward, but in reading other reviews, I noticed that about half had the same experience and half had the sweet, soft, powdery vanilla experience. So I took a chance, intending to give it away if I didn't like it. Thankfully, I love it!

As for many, this was one of my first perfumes ever while growing up in the 90's. (This and White Musk from Bodyshop!) But coming back to this now, I feel like it is such an underrated gem. What a "signature perfume" in the true sense of it! So recognizable, so unique and great value for money! And if I didn't know it was a 90's classic, I would still say that it's quite a timeless perfume. It has a relaxed ease about it, a perfume for a youthful and vibrant person, no matter their age!

Beautiful, peachy-powdery, floral, sweet scent. :) To me it's quite unique, something I haven't smelled before (it might be because of the peach note). To my mom it smells like one of the "Impulse" body sprays (I remember I noticed a bottle of those during my early childhood). So nice, great for daily use. Sometimes I wish I could experience the times when the 1980s/1990s scents were popular, I purposely search for those on Fragrantica and collect them. They tend to be so cheap nowdays.

I was lining up to buy some pain medication after coming out of anaesthetic to have my wisdom teeth removed and I spotted a bottle of this at the counter at chemist warehouse so I bought it in my drug addled state... Very pleased I did because I used to use this in the 90s and it smells just the same, very nostalgic. Somehow smells both powdery and sharp to me, almost like the taste of childhood medicines and jasmine. Weird but cool.

I'm pretty sure I got the original version, because i don't get any screechy or citrus notes. The opening is sweet, a mix of vanilla and peach that reminds me somehow of hi chew candy and fancy hair conditioner. It evolves into something more musky and a little spicy, similar to a gingerbread cookie. The longevity is great for such a cheap perfume; the scent lasted until I showered.

This was another $3 stocking stuffer sized fragrance purchase. I have always loved the bottle to Exclamation. For years I would never wear this fragrance. Either I changed or the fragrance was changed. I love this! This is one amazing powdery floral that makes you feel like a woman. It does start out intense but mellows out. A very enchanting fragrance. 1988 at its best.

this is definitely a sweet floral. It brings me back memories of my childhood. My grandmother and aunts use to wear this perfume. The orris root stay's throughout the whole fragrance. It's one of those perfumes that I will wear in the spring/summer and on a day where I just want to bring back great memories of loved family members who are no longer with us.

This is by far my favorite perfume of all time. I will forever purchase this scent. I get a vanilla and an apricot that smells great on me. I do see where others might note it to be a bit powdery but I don't get that on my skin when I wear it. I wish I could buy every bottle so I never have to worry about losing it and not being able to wear it again.

Better version of Tresor. This peach is juicier, more of a shampoo fresh vibe. Tresor smells like aged fruit, and the amber smells dirty to me. And lilac is very cloying. This is delightful. Juicy peach, shampoo fresh, then comes the soft heliotrope and powdery orris. No harsh chemical/alcohol opening. A beautiful bargain.

This was my jam when I was in high school and I wore the hell out of it. Couldn't tell me I wasn't the sh*t, neither. Back then, Exclamation smelled so good, it was bursting with fruit and had a bomb woody base. Quite sophisticated during its heyday. Those were the good old days....

memories!! This is actually very fresh and sweet almost like a orange zest smell comes to mind with it too!, my sister use to wear this. And for a cheap perfume has excellent pulling power! just a beautiful perfume,don't rule out the cheap ones they seem to have good pulling power!

I got it for the nostalgia 😔 this was huge among the women in my fam I remember my tias and my mom wearing this in the early 90s a very girly scent I spray it in my room when I’m missing my aunts a little extra and it takes me right back to my grandmas house on a Sunday night

Ohhh the nostalgia. This was my signature scent in middle school. Strong, powdery and clean. It was cheap and my mom didn't mind buying it for me. As I got into high-school I evolved into Ralph Lauren, but this will always be my memory lane scent

Recently ordered one from the US. It used to be powdery, sweet and with a much stronger sillage when I first used it in the 90s. The current version is weaker though still very easy to wear. Full of memories from the past. I still love it.

This perfume is from my teenage years. When I smell it , it reminds me of the good ol days! I love the way it smells , and the smell lingers for quite a while. Always will be a top tenner for me.

This is a very fresh smelling perfume. It smells like a very nice fresh garden. it it is really worth your money it is a lovely perfume. 10/10 It is one of the best perfume on the market.

I LOVE this! It's warm, spicy and gourmand on me, and also somehow fresh and clean. Warm vanilla, lactonic, peach, sweet but not sickly. Goes well with my chemistry.

This smells very nice layered with Dana Tabu, another drugstore gem. Adds some spice and more Woody and floral notes. Super sexy too!

Smells like Bright Peach from Al Hambra but a little fresher/lighter.

Ex'cla'ma'tion was one of my earliest (I think first??) fragrances I bought myself. I used my hard earned babysitting money to but it. This was in my days of Coty Wild Musk and Love's Baby Soft. Ex'cla'ma'tion was the first new release, modern fragrance I had tried. I first owned it when I was in 8th grade and this was a new release. This was pretty popular amoung my peers at the time. I grew out of this fragrance partway through highschool and didn't repurchase this fragrance again until recently. I recently was feeling nostalgic and decided to buy a new bottle. I have worn it a couple times now and am so surprised by how much I still enjoy this. I imagine a much of that enjoyment comes from that nostalgia, but I think this is still a nice smelling fragrance. It smells a lot like the candy Fuzzy Peaches with a musky base. Once it dries on the skin the peach becomes less gummy candy and more spiced and powdery peach. It remains a youthful smelling fragrance and doesn't smell dated. In different packaging I could see this appealing to young teen girls now. Just like most current formulations of older fragrances this one has taken a pretty big hit in the performance department. When I wore this fragrance as a young teen, I was a very light sprayer. I wanted to savour my bottles, even an inexpensive fragrance was a luxury to me then. I would wear 1 or 2 sprays and it would last all day. When I wear the current formulation I apply 6 or more sprays and it stays a very subtle fragrance. This might be a positive for those that like a unobtrusive scent. The longevity is not bad, 4-6 hours, but the projection is non existent almost from initial application. I find it has light projection for about 15 minutes then stays a skin scent for the rest of the wear. The bottle is pure late eighties early ninties and doesn't appear to have changed at all. I kinda love it because I loved it when I was 13 years old. but objectively it is pretty cheap and tacky looking. Still, I love that they haven't changed it.

If you have them in your arsenal, smell in this order: Exclamation, Lancôme Trésor, Elizabeth Taylor Diamonds and Rubies, Lagerfeld Sun Moon Stars, Paloma Picasso Tentations, Celine Magic. Grojsman was working something out, it's wonderful to experience them in succession. I love Sun Moon Stars the most, it's the most offbeat of the bunch and longer lasting than the others. I like the Exclamation deodorant body mist (spray can.) I have an old glass bottle too, maybe 2012. Something about this bothered me before, and I gave the can to my mom, who had complimented me when I wore it. She likes lighter scents like CK1 and Baby Soft. It actually reminds me A LOT of Baby Soft, but add peach. Thinking the peach note is what I don't like, although I enjoy it in other perfumes (Trésor, Femme, Mitsouko.) Maybe this certain fake peach is really cheap to formulate so in this it's yucky, cuz it's the most prominent note? And on me it lasts allllll day. How come ones I don't like, cling the most? I like it more than many modern offerings but it's just ok, when I own other, more beloved Grojsman creations. This is great for small perfume budgets, just don't over-spray. I think that's a good rule for most drugstore scents; trying to get them to perform by applying a lot only seems to amplify their shortcomings. This doesn't make cheap scents bad, just less fool-proof. Getting a pleasant and wearable drugstore scent by a master perfumer for the price of deodorant is pretty incredible, to be honest. I'd like to see Creed put out something that good for that price. Bet they can't ❣️

I have a vague memory of a friend perhaps having a bottle of this in their bedroom? But I didn't experiment with this scent until recently. I'd sniffed it once a few years ago and was repelled - too loud and fruity, I thought. Well, there is no denying that Exclamation is not by personality or current formulation designed to be a wallflower! I am a drugstore scent enthusiast and Powder Lover, though, so I wondered... Would another try change my mind? The first few minutes were rough. This thing is full of a fake peach not particularly refined. Ah, but wait.... Later that day I got a fervent complement from a friend who would usually have been repulsed. I told her what it was and she went out and got a bottle! Furthermore, so have I. Why? The dry down, people, it's all about the dry down. Good musk and rich, warm, powdery notes similar to those in Fire&Ice and Amber Romance. I'm still rather more interested in Amber Romance (no fake-peach WACK at the beginning, thank you), but it's worth noting that Exclamation is still around for a reason. The dry down! It's also Excellent for layering with fragrances that could use a bit of a base and some serious help in the longevity department. I tried it with a rose soliflore and was very, very pleased. The peach all but disappeared while the musk amped up the floral. Nice. If only more fragrances had this kind of personality and power today. For the few dollars invested, I'd say Exclamation does the job and does it well. Forget the high-pitched treble opening, it's 'all about the base, 'bout the base', my friends!

145 Oh, this is so much better than most of the fruity scents today. I have the original version and I know it’s lost some of its punch since it came out, but it still has the soul of the past. This is a 13 year old girls first perfume and it was mine too. I thought the woman in the ad, her new wave 80s look, was so cool. In some ways, I think it inspired my interest in the alternative fashion culture and music too. I can now see where I picked up the love of peaches, apricots, heliotrope, and cinnamon in fragrance. This is a tart chilled fruity juice of peaches and apricots. I think the cinnamon blends well and elevates the fruity notes. The other notes are not noticeable or prominent, as they all are well blended to support the fruitiness in the best way. The florals, cedar, sandalwood, and vanilla play an almost transparent role. The fruit is the star. Yes it’s a drugstore scent, but it has strength compared to things out there today that are fruity. Meaning to say, when you want fruity, you don’t want it to fade in 10 minutes(like today’s scents do). Furthermore, I get more plastic notes from today’s fruity scents(hello bitter peach) than this ever had(it never did to me). It’s a youthful delicious fun scent. Not serious!!! Nostalgia, I remember those days in 1988 and it smelled ever better when it was fresh. 8/10 fruitiness done well and strong! Nostalgia for those who really knew it!!!
