Hyper Iris

The offspring of Irisss by Xerjoff and Glossier You. Performance on skin is excellent, nuclear on fabric. Sadly, the iris eventually disappears and you are left with the musky dregs of fabric softener an hour or two in. This Courrèges collection of new scents is laden with long-lasting musks and other synthetics but in a mostly tasteful, intentional, Geza Schöen kind of way. If you can sample them, you probably only need a bottle of your favorite one as the distinctions between them are blurred. Great packaging, this bottle is king of my perfume shelves. 3 out of 5.

As I smell Hyper Iris I picture a dense greyish cloud, something thick, nicely enveloping, almost greasy. At the heart of the cloud there is a bouquet of sweet violets and sparkling iris lying on a mellow cedarwood sawdust pillow. I wonder if there is heliotrope in this fragrance because the opening smells faintly almondy to me. The scent is comfy, it's a beautiful sleek evocation of a luminous powdery iris.

The notes pyramid are very misleading. Plus, I'm honestly wondering if there's any iris here at all. As someone mentioned below, it is a heliotrope b0mb. Floral, powdery, with that almond/marzipan smell, which takes it almost into a gourmand territory. It also has a mix of vanillin and coumarin, which adds warmth and some subtle sweetness. For me, it smells like a feminine-leaning Prada l'Homme. In a sense, it smells like a mix of the latter with Comète. If you're buying Hyper Iris because you like that true iris scent, like in Cuir Zerzura, 37 Rue Bellechasse, Melt My Heart, Muscara, etc, then you're in for a disappointment.

Iris, violet, powdery, cosmetic, slight caramel vibes, woody, creamy. Smells quite natural and low key. It is not my type of fragrance but I can see how many people could like this. It is very clean feeling, cosmetic. Nice on the skin.

Beautiful take on Iris which is well balanced but leans toward more woody & powdery facets. I get a smooth Iris which gets quite woody on my skin whilst also smelling slightly sweet and powdery. The slight vegetal touch from violet leaf combines with woodyness in the base to create a nutty sort of edge. Overall a very clean Iris, creamy with ambroxan and not excessively sweet or powdery. Wears wonderfully on skin but don't expect huge performance as this is a more subtle, understated smell. Very refined and elegant as expected from Mr Herault.

This is so nice! I love iris so I expected to like it as an iris forward fragrance, but it surprised me with just how much I actually like it. Powdery and quite sweet, a classic but very solid take on iris, rather linear, with a lovely dry down. Definitely worth sampling for all iris lovers.
