L'Eau de Liesse

Pleasantly surprised with this one, my expectations were not even switched on. such a beautiful perfume its so similar to Musc Outreblanc, Besos and L'Eau d'Hiver but it's still its own perfume; elegant, feminine and intoxicating. The iris is exquisite, not your lipstick or powdery iris but clean and smooth like you are smelling an iris flower. It’s smooth like a light lotion that absorbs well into the skin. There’s a note that gives off the same vibe that’s in Metallique but it’s more ethereal. If you like any of these perfumes you would love this. It’s elegant, clean, soft, smooth slightly sweet and creamy with a slight warm sweetness whispering in the mid soo similar to 1957 and even a little bit like Comete with the creamy macadamia musk. Definitely smells luxurious and feminine. If you want 1957 try this too. 8/10 it projects and lasts well. I certainly want to try more from this house.

I instantly fell in love with this after trying it both on a strip and on skin, this is just such a beautifully simple fragrance that shows sometimes less is more. It opens with a blend of nutty and sweet macadamia nuts and freshly bright soapiness, a creaminess to it. The iris quickly comes into play hand in hand with an ultra almond heavy heliotrope that amps up the creaminess. The dry down keeps that nuttiness from the opening, and the creaminess from the heart with subtle sweetness to it, now made fluffy with musks. It’s hard to pin what this smells similar to bc it feels familiar yet unique and new. It’s essentially a take on the commonly used sweet and earthy iris scent profile but with the nutty accords it feels refreshing.

What a beautiful scent! A successful blind buy, although I still debate if I should’ve gotten Slogan instead. L’eau de Liesse is a sunny, smiley, pretty perfume that steals people’s hearts. The macadamia does wonders sweetening things up and giving the florals a musky, nutty quality. This smells like a mom’s heavy duty body cream sat next to freshly picked iris flowers. Blended beautifully, takes a few sniffs to be able to tell where the notes start and end. Musky but not ambroxan heavy. My girl friends love it. Good sillage, it lingers in a room even after I’ve left it.

Burst of fizzy creamy sunlight followed with a cloud of nutty powder and slightly dirty skin musk. To me this is a cross between Zadig & Voltaire's This is Us but without the masculine aspects of This is Us and Trussardi's Pure Jasmine but without that medicinal first spray that Pure Jasmine has. I love this. Very modern and fresh - sunny without being a citrus overload. Creamy and nutty and then ultimately a sexy skin musk. Longevity is medium, sillage is also medium. Purchased in Paris at Courreges boutique.

Много плътен, сякаш има текстура на крем. Не пудрен, по-скоро кремест. Ядковата нотка води оркестъра през цялото време. С това е различен.Куреж просто успява да интерпретира познати нотки по уникален начин.

If the song "Cover me in sunshine" from Pink would be a perfume, it would be Eau de Liesse. It I could ony say one word about it, I would say pleasant. Soft, powdery, warm. The yellow bottle suits it well: sunshine in a bottle! PS do not buy it on amazon, I got a very sketchy looking fake (got refunded and later bought it from a reputable site)

I adore this. Powdery and floral, yet not insipid. It seems very comforting and very unusual at the same time. Reminds me of a baby... but also elegant and sophisticated. I bought the candle version when I saw it at the Duty Free at CDG... but I'm afraid to burn it. I feel like this is something for my skin, not my home.

Can anyone recomend a spot on dupe for Courrèges L'eau de Liesse? Maybe a lesser price point?

I got a sample of this from a subscription service and it’s definitely not blind buy safe. This lasts fairly well on clothes, but on the skin it’s barely there (slightly sweet, powdery musk) in less than an hour for me. I do like how it smells, it’s unique to my nose and a fairly successful first step into powdery fragrances for me, still has the creaminess to it that I tend to love. However, this does have a synthetic, almost waxy scent to it for me, there’s a note on first spraying that reminds me of crayon, but dissipates pretty fast so it doesn’t ruin the scent for me. Overall, I don’t think I’d get a full bottle, even though I really want to find one that I like from this range because I love the designs of the bottles, I’m hoping Slogan or C will be more promising when I have the chance to try them.

L'Eau de Liesse is a very good example of how classic flowers and even aldehydes can be revamped to fit modern tastes. It opens up with an intriquingly different accord of fizzy aldehydes, bittersweet neroli and macadamia followed by slightly honeyed jasmine and powdered iris. Mixed with the creamyness of heliotrophe in the dry down, L’Eau de Liesse becomes irresistable. A beautiful take on a musky femme gone nuts in the best possible way.

Interesting. Starts out with an almond smell, almost like Amaretto (Is this the macadamia + citrus + aldehydes combo?). I could also smell the iris but it wasn't overbearing, giving that I dislike iris. This scent does quickly turn into a light floral mostly musk + ambroxan skin scent. If you hate almonds and/or ambroxan, avoid this one.

The opening is quite similar to L'Eau D'hiver, but quickly dries down to something closer to Nivea body cream. It's fuzzy and soft, inoffensive. I wish I got marzipan like some of the reviews below. I like it, but have a full bottle of L'Eau D'hiver which is a forever love for me, so I don't need this in my collection.

So pretty. Yummy kind of toothsome musky powdery scent. Macadamia is a nice touch. It's papery but also slightly nutty and sweet. It does come off very baby powder-esque, so if that turns you off, this is not for you. But I like it, and it hangs around for some time :)

Perhaps because I read the notes first before sniffing this, my initial impression was how nutty it was though not in a gourmand sense. It's actually quite powdery, but the creamy nuttiness tempers the sharp powdery notes. It really shines on cooler days.

I get heliotrope, the scent that reminds me of almond and Iris. Not sure if I get macadamia. In the background there is a little bit of bitterness, maybe like citrus rinds.

It absolutely smells like marzipan to me.

This made my whole room smell like radioactive ambery baby wipes. It was so strong I had to throw the sample out because I couldn't get away from it even after scrubbing my hand. Something about it really burns my nose almost like alcohol does, but it doesn't have an alcohol smell at all. Maybe I am just very sensitive to one of the notes because I have never had that happen before.

Am I truly the only person who feels this is a relatively inexpensive version of Chanel’s Comète?

Got a sample of this recently and unfortunately, I don't smell anything appealing. I am just not a powdery perfume person, so that's probably why. Usually heliotrope is not my thing - this would give me a headache, if I haven't washed it off on time.

L'Eau de Liesse opens with huge bitter powders. It is a little hard to tell what exactly the powders are derived from, but white chalk is literally what comes to my mind. Later, with more floral and musk coming in, the powders are bright and feel more like heliotrope, with some hardness from iris (though it still feels different from the common treatment). Then the powdery passes on to the fluffy musk and lands on the transparent ambroxan. (Ambroxan here, like in other works of the line, is detectable, but not overdosed.) This latter half part feels more like laundry powders. I am a little ambivalent about L'Eau de Liesse. I can feel its experimental ambition on powder featuring; yet the final work seems missing some ‘aha’ nuances or ‘wow’ moments, but rather feels not so pleasant. And I shall say the same about the new Courrèges. As Miguel analysed, the new Courrèges seems to position itself as minimalist, synthetic, and futuristic. The visuals, from the packaging, the bottle design to the ads, are in great alignment and of nice aesthetics. The fragrances, however, have not become the second CdG or anything avant-garde. For me, half of them are somehow common, and the other half feel unpleasant, either due to the ingredients or the execution. As the successor of the former outstanding portfolio and with such adorable visuals, I definitely hope and expect the new Courrèges can and will offer us something more extraordinary. In future, maybe?
